2 Day Food Trip on Japan’s Sleeper Train | Tokyo - Shikoku

Hello, today we ride the Sunrise Seto sleeper train again, this time to Udon Land Takamatsu. And eat their local cuisine!!! Please enjoy the trip! Hello Today we are at Tokyo Station Today we are heading to Takamatsu Japan’s udon town I’ve recently become an udon fan after their 2023 Udon World Cup This is the route for the trip We travel 9 hours and 800km to Takamatsu and head south to Kochi to eat fish and return to Takamatsu to try out all kinds of udon. Cheap fast and most importantly Delicious Looks good I got the Bukkake udon with Kabosu And I added some ice to make it more cooler for the summer days Woooo Why does it taste better than the last time I came here Maybe the udon went under training Very nice Thanks for the food I now head to bonito land Bonito is the only reason why I’m heading there I don’t really know what else I should be doing there 2 hours from here Arrived Kochi station. Now to get ourselves the bonito Let’s head to the market It's a walkable distance from here, But it looks like there’s rental cycles it was ¥550 for 6 hours Im going to give it a try how the heck do I use this Congrats I am now a cycler We have arrived at Hirome Market I believe this is it This is the restaurant Under that fire is Is our prized lunch It has arrived bonito set (¥1700) one is soy sauce This one is salted bonito Let’s try the salted bonito Well Its a bonito Let’s try the other one Well This one is much better If you had to choose, I'd go with the soy sauce Next up Gyoza Its like a hardshell type I hope its good ¥500 Why is the plate blue Sad The gyoza I had on my way here was better This is sad news Thanks for the fooders There’s one more thing to do The famous “disappointment tourist attraction” spot Harimaya bridge It was first planned to be a bridge to rival the Golden Gate Bridge But after the company went bankrupt and the project was scraped They built this bridge to show their apology. Well that’s just the rumor. Let’s cross it Wow Oh no what an adventure it was Now let’s walk around if there’s any more tourist attractions So I found this A statue This is like the Peppa pig of Japan The author was born here so we get these statues around the town This is worth crying for what a beautiful statue Soo cool I’m planning to be here until sunset So I still have time Why don’t we pass time by going to a Japanese mall And by Japanese mall I mean watch a movie Mission impossible ghost protocol Or whatever it is That new movie Tim cross movie rest in peace to the people in the submarine Man is already in his 60’s And Tim Cross is crazy in every way possible It's time to make my way back to Takamatsu Good bye bonito Takamatsu station We are back And we are back with another rental cycle It was only 200 yen per 24 hours Is this service even profitable? Kaikatsu club 24 hours will cost ¥4750 I'm taking the sleeper train back so I needed someplace I could keep my luggage So I decided to sleep in at this place This is my sleeping pod They even have the Logitech x Titanic collab Shower and sleep good night Good morning I’m actually waking up early for once This place has a lot of reviews Im going to go there for my first udon of the day Udon time Udon is very light so it's even good for breakfast We have arrived Udon Baka Ichidai oh no It's crowded There's a ton of scribbles on the wall Its signature dish is apparently the egg butter udon Weird food But I’m here anyway so I’m going to give it a try. Kama butter udon ¥530 Add the egg.. Egg. the egg! Noooo Sad I donated some egg to the tray Butter and egg and wheat-based breakfast It's basically a pancake ignore this dashi sauce As it contradicts my pancake theory It's actually syrup syrup Mix mix mix And the taste is not pancake It has a very udon taste I guess the raw egger is adding more depth to the meal The butter doesn't ruin the taste either Actually the butter is non existent Maybe it never existed from the first place The line just got bigger Good thing I came early Thanks for the food Oh no Who the heck is Kenjaku Oh no Time to get out of this prison And go fight some udon that manga was good Makes me realize that being ordinary is a blessing Glad I still have my hands or eyes I’ve cycled 10km out of town I have arrived at our second udon joint of the day This place also has lots of ratings It had 1000+ reviews Will I get my time’s worth?? Sanuki Udon Ippuku Kokubunji Main Store I got their kake udon ¥300 I really can't tell the difference between kake and bukkake I know bukkake has a richer soup but I can't tell the difference At the very least, It tastes good The soup is lighter so it's easy to drink Thanks for the food Glad these dishes are light I can now for round two 3rd joint of the day Miyatake Udon This time ill get something different No.1 menu Let’s give it a try Their number 1 menu Cold soup hot noodles I also got a tempura Looks like we have noodles of varying sizes I never tried hot noodles in cold soup Excited to try it out It tastes like Udon Chewy Chewy Delicious udon The fact that I am not bored to eat my 3rd bowl should suggest now good udon is in general Thanks for the food Im going to go back to my base and rest my stomach Back at HQ These udon places are everywhere Im actually scared So it's 6pm now I’m getting hungry There are endless amounts of udon joints to choose from I'm going on an adventure without my bike Im going to go to the closest place I can find And see if it is good or not This place Shinpei Udon Let’s try it out This will be my last meal in Takamatsu So I got an extra meal Tempura set And dipping udon And this udon Ok Dipping sauce I might like this dipping style Kinda looks good Might be my new go-to udon dish Ok Why is Why is the tempura so good It doesn’t even have an oily taste What in the world This is amazing Interesting So This shop Might be the best udon I had today At least the tempura is. Glad I found this place. In Takamatsu, there is an endless amount of udon joints to choose from. Doing an extensive research is unnecessary. Just go to the nearness shop to you.
