has made a career out of taking the seemingly impossible and making it somehow possible i'm going to tell you man we are going to be awesome the fans of south carolina wholeheartedly believe he should do it all over again you're going to love this i make that commitment to you back in the 70s he led nc state to four balls in four years holtz returns to the site of one of his very first reclamation projects the blue holes era at south carolina begins tonight as the gamecocks take on the 24th ranked nc state wolfpack hi everybody ron franklin welcome once again to espn primetime college football tonight from a very wet and windy raleigh north carolina as the remnants of what used to be hurricane dennis now tropical storm dennis passing through winds gusting 35 to 40 miles an hour rain is coming in sheets we could have a really interesting situation with this ball game tonight but it's the return of lou holtz to college football and i found out in this past week that when you ask somebody about lou they either like him a lot or they don't care for him but you always get a response everybody has an opinion on lou holt but particularly we have found out to find people from the state of south carolina they are totally in fact infatuated with this situation in fact lou hasn't even stepped on the field yet they have sold a record number of tickets they have donations coming in at a record pace but let me stop right there and say i'm not going to try to hype this situation to tell you that the second coming has occurred in columbia south carolina this is going to be a very high mountain to climb case in point tonight nc state here in raleigh a team fresh off an upset win on the road at texas last week and remember back in the 50s there was a song called three little words those three little words were i love you well when you coach in the sec east there are three little words and those three little words are florida tennessee and georgia and folks that doesn't mean i love you well that's part of the mountain that lou holtz has got to climb and he knows it anyway we're very pleased to be here and be a part of his return to college football tonight against north carolina state mike godfrey and adrian carstender standing by will be back from a wet rally right after this [Music] north carolina state takes the field and it's a very noisy house regardless of the elements tonight as they are fresh off an upset glitter for texas last week on the road and now they are back home to play host the lou holtz and the gamecocks of south carolina here are the weather conditions i mentioned just a moment ago in the open and they're not going to get any better wind gusting 30 to 40 miles an hour the forecast is for heavy rain for the remainder of the evening as dennis passes on through mike godfrey joins us on the telecast as usual and mike the question i want to know and people out there that i know lou holtz is good but how much of an impact can he have on a team that was one in 10 last year ron there's a lot of excitement in south carolina if lou hopes only improves his team in two areas they have a chance to win some games number one win the close games they lost four games by less than a touchdown last year also the turnover area don't turn the ball over last year they were 110 out of 112 college teams mike last week nc state played so they got a game under their belt south carolina did not play as we know but yet they came away with something being able to see the wolfpack didn't yeah south carolina learned a lot from the texas football game last week they learned that that north carolina state is very good in the special teams north carolina state blocked three punts north carolina state had an injury at center the center exchange you expect south carolina to put somebody on the center tonight get him on every play they also found that blitzes got to jamie barnett and the receivers couldn't get away from tight coverage so there's a lot of things that lou holtz and his staff picked up in that ball game last week third member on our team adrian carson down on the sideline adrian let's go to you he's with the new south carolina head coach blue holst run the final exhilarating moments before kickoff of any college football game is one of the elements that this man missed about being on the sidelines but coach holtz now the hype is over it's time to get down to business it is i this game's not about me this is about our football team and coming back from a bad year nc state has the disadvantage we all do of not having any idea what your offense is going to look like in this weather especially what can we expect to see well our plan was to go wide on them because they stuffed texas so strong inside we're just going to see what we're capable doing because we're outmanned outweighed in the line good luck coach and welcome back thank you okay adrian thank you and coach halst and uh we appreciate him taking time just before this opening kickoff as you look at mike cocaine seventh season at nc state what a win last week shocked a few people around the country as they went down to austin and handed texas a defeat with three blocked kicks and bringing 16 points their way off special teams north carolina state is going to receive south carolina will kick off and mike we talked about this and i ask you what given the opportunity if you won the toss which would you rather do i would rather kick the ball off and play defense and this wind is so heavy north carolina state's going to be on the spot right away of trying to get good field position one of the things we talk about wet we talk about rain and the casualties that it can cause and bring however any coach will tell you an even greater enemy is the wind and when you've got a combination of the wind and the rain tonight we could see some really funny bounces of the football front the wind affects your play calling because you have two quarters where you got to throw into a heavy wind you don't want to throw the long deep outs don't want to throw the ball deep over the middle [Music] spikes and robinson the two deep in [Applause] marcus mcvet has the ball teed up at the 35-yard line and the ball has just blown off the tee and i wondered if we were going to be able to get away with having that ball stay there without having to hold her but i would imagine but we'll see maybe it will stay as the wind is coming and going but when the gusts do come through people are tired in their rain gear tonight you can see the rain gear goes sideways even in the stands as it continues to blow off now they're going to have to have a holder yep they're going to have to bring uh somebody from the corner who will come in and that ron is usually a safety so that he once he holds he's gonna be a safety anyway on the kick team approach brown is the man who came up to become the holder and this will cover them before and now tries to get outside and uh [Applause] as we take a look at the starting lineups for the wolfpack of north carolina state you can see number four jamie barnett the senior from roxboro north carolina he's a four-year starter coming out robinson and derek roberts are behind him vanderbilt is the tight end and the receivers coleman and hamrick and they have their work tonight in concentration to hold on derrick green the man in the middle he is a freshman he gets the start at center this evening santos has moved to a starter at right guard it's [Music] [Applause] harney is the man who made the tackle as we look at the starters for the gamecocks on defense tonight overstreet caldwell pinkney is the man on the center's nose he'll be playing against that green freshman at derrick green i think he is very good in kalima edwards the linebackers very active group abraham is excellent hardy just made the tackle corey atkins is the other one and in the secondary if they have an achilles heel house and faison kind of unknown quantities in that defensive secondary brown and green are the safest this time from the shotgun barnett steps up he's going to run it and he is going to be belted back that's pouring atkins as those linebackers come out banging away ron this is the challenge you face into the wind now you must pick up a first down or you're going to give south carolina good field position on their first offensive try hamrick has checked into the lineup number 22 he is the senior out of shelby north carolina 6-2-198 we saw him a lot last week a third wide receiver in the game is corran robinson a freshman from belmont north carolina you cannot see him he is to the bottom of your screen toward the short side of the field quarterback draw gonna run it and barnett very safely not the first down but he has it to the 28 as anthony overstreet comes over to make the tackle and just as mike godfrey said now special teams time and the first thing we should mention the long snappers because we saw bad snaps on both sides during the warm-up because of the wind and the rain wind's going to affect the long snap so as you get the football scott earwood had a great ball game against texas last week the punter for north carolina state bull williams number four is the lone deep man for south carolina gets a good pass and the gamecocks have the return on not a particularly good kick because it bounds and is picked up at the 32. williams gets away at the 50 and he is inside the 45-yard line and the gamecocks take it over with very good field position a 39-yard kick and 23 on the return earwood made the tackle here are the starters for south carolina on offense [Applause] quarterback bill petty boiling spring south carolina boo williams and steve nixon behind him the tight end trey pennington very large fella at 260 pounds kelly and hood of the wide receivers and up front with the offensive line this really is a group of unknowns as far as how good and how quickly they will mess we'll keep a close eye on that offensive crush or south carolina in this opening wood williams came at the gibson makes the stop and here are those starters for the wolf pack they had an outstanding game last week out in austin johnson fisher nate goodson who just made the stop and brian james now the linebackers were everywhere smith they lost him for the year so sheldon key is now the starter in the middle lavar fisher and clayton white excellent linebackers and the all-american lloyd harrison number two those corners are very strong brian williams the free safety had an excellent game last week against texas as well play action petty rolls the pocket has the pass complete and there is the initial first down of the night by either team as lavar fisher made the tackle on jermaine kelley and good field positions allows you to make those kind of play calls bill petty very accurate on the first pass and ron north carolina state disadvantaged they watched old notre dame tapes when lou holtz was there connecticut tapes and skip hopes was the offensive coordinator and the south carolina tapes last year didn't know what to expect out of this offense two tight ends of the ball game for south carolina as trevon matthews number 86 comes into the lineup [Music] you see the blitz off the corner they go straight ahead with the handoff to me smith antonine smith a sophomore out of waterboro south carolina and labar fisher with his second tackle of the ball game this is a defense with very good linebackers key levar fisher clayton white number 15. we talked about losing edrick smith but they have depth at the linebacker position [Applause] second down the ball just outside the north carolina state 30-yard line no score we are about to have played the first five minutes of this very wet football game from raleigh who williams is tripped up and i'm not so sure that somebody didn't literally trip him up with a foot as he went through the hole clint johnson is the man who stopped him well boo williams the coaches when lou holtz came into south carolina they tried to move him to wide receiver he's got great hands caught 24 passes last year but they needed to keep him handbricked they threw off the team boo williams was starting tailback third down crowd comes to life many of them coming to their feet the line to make is the 23. the pitch to williams look at the defense by m.c state and that is brian williams the young man i said he had an outstanding game against texas last week he picks right up where he left off safety run he's an outstanding safety a southport started as a freshman brian jameson also makes the play and helps out [Applause] [Music] so the penetration and it is fourth down south carolina had problems in the field goal area last year four out of twelve so we're going to go for it rather than taking the chance of the long field goal which would be about 47 48 yards remember they have to take it to the 23. the line [Applause] and it's recovered by linebacker clayton white and it was brian james in number 20 do not need loose from the football and ron we talked about it the turnovers 110 out of 112 teams last year they had 15 passes intercepted and 25 bombs fumbles they [Music] left in his opening quarter espn's presentation of primetime college football is brought to you by isuzu you we saw coach holt signaling for petty to come over to him what do you think that conversation was about i'm sure he's telling him put the ball up and give us a chance on fourth down to make a play well the best field position of the night for nc state here on their second possession got coleman wide open hits him at the 40 and the tackle made immediately by john abraham coleman i think could have and needs to have a big night tonight as you mentioned he got a little frustrated last week the texas secondary seemed to bother him and he is a kid who is capable of catching nine or ten balls over the course of a ball game and really causing some damage he needs corey corn robinson to come through on the other side to take a little pressure off of him because most teams are going to double him [Applause] the two catches last week 16 yards and is capable of averaging 16 yards per reception running play robinson nice defensive work knifing true was caldwell in [Applause] 96 cecil caldwell a senior out of newberry south carolina ron you're going to see derek green the freshman center they're going to try to give him some help early john fletcher the guard double teaming on cleveland pinkney trying to help the redshirt freshman out here a little bit give him some confidence his head coach had some good words about green he said physically he played it with boggy but mentally it was just beyond it because he's so fresh so young so new barnett with the shotgun they roll the pocket and pass overthrown looking for coleman you could see two defenders out there with him but that's jamie's fault it looked as though it slipped off his hands yeah in this kind of weather the ball's going to get wet it's going to slip out of the quarterback's hands but jamie barnett needs some confidence michael caine talking to him there hadn't didn't have a good game against texas was frustrated but uh expecting big things this week earwood his first punt 40 yards we found out they changed his steps 10 days before the texas game and he really adhered to it nicely not a particularly good kick but into this gusting win uh actually pretty respectable he did a good job on enron to get it off 32 yards on the kick will take a timeout still no score 7 38 left in this opening quarter look back up at the lights you can see that rain blowing through the lights mike south carolina came close on that last punt they had it had a very good shot chris coleman outside on the punt team needs to block the inside receiver but a great job by earwood he needs to block him he's got a further way to go to get the punt but look at the job scott earwood did let's moved up his sped up his steps punted the football saved a punt block well they said as i mentioned just before he kicked that 10 days before the texas game they changed him to a step and a half kicker and he adapted very nicely he liked it but he can get it away quickly high formation watson in the ball game didn't know if we would see him tonight or not that's going to be a loss of a yard derek is a freshman from williamston south carolina has had problems with a hamstring and lou holtz and his coaches really really like this young man ron mr football in south carolina had 88 touchdowns in his high school career so he's a pretty fair back south carolina working with the wind in this opening quarter they have about 708 left on the clock with which to work again an eye formation that's d smith at fullback he gets the kick out blocking here's watch 5 10 15 20 yards cut it off at about 28 29 yards in the carry as adrian wilson finally made the stop and he says round it off to 30. enron you and i were talking to the defensive coaches from north carolina state jeff snipe said he's the best high school running back i've ever seen they recruited him you can see him just he's benefits because he gets great blocks great hole gets in the secondary mike if he's been having problems with a hamstring on a night like tonight i'm sure he is going to have to be very careful ron you made an interesting point when you're an offensive coordinator and you know you've got two quarters with this win you want to make sure you put points on the board 643 left and that's going through lou holtz's mind so you've played more conservatively going into it you play more conservative going into it and you let it air out a little bit when you got it and it's back well south carolina had an opportunity a moment ago but following a loss they went for it on fourth down and they fumbled the ball but right now they have it first and ten at the 41 and a half yard line still no score first man through it's a full back knee smith with the hand on and he's still fighting his way down close to the 35 and now here comes a late flag i think that's going to be a personal foul on south carolina because i think a blocker came in late may have been scott brown number 50. steve shaw the referee tonight dead ball foul personal foul on the offense 15-yard penalty that's a deadpool foul so it's not going to come from the previous spot it'll come from the run which was good for about six yards so not quite as bad as it could have been second down here's the replay you're going to see a late hit right here yeah number 50. so scott brown the junior from jacksonville florida is the man who was flagged and now the rain coming about twice as hard as it has all night this is really a deal delay not much there for derrick watson jeff fisher on the tackle and let's check with mr kenny back in the studio all right can't do that on his side of the field actually on either one of those corners on two turnovers now to a team that's used to making turnovers beating themselves that's two turnovers in good field position carrie hood was the intended receiver lloyd harrison who says if i do my job i'll be at the jim thorpe bank with being honored as the defensive back of the year that's a good start for him well mike your point is well taken because that's twice that they have had the ball over midfield with the win under horrible conditions and they have turned it over twice one fumbled and now an interception 5 25 to play opening period straight up the middle robinson with an opening and robinson is going to take this one to around the 43 before kenneth harney stops in ron as a head coach when you take over a new job and you look at this 1998 13 fumbles 15 interceptions if you just talk talk to your team and say let's don't beat ourselves let the opponent beat us if they're going to beat us but not beat ourselves and that's what's frustrating to lou holtz lou letting the official know that he is right there but that was a good call on the camera it was late under five to play rob is a nice defensive stop at the line of scrimmage i mean he could go nowhere it's john abraham the senior out of timminsville south carolina coming from that outside linebacking spot he hit robinson before he really got started and the one thing about this south carolina defense they're good up front now they've got some players caldwell pinkney edwards abraham's now being moved to a linebacker position he's on the butkus award list seven quarterback sacks last year three wide receivers for nc state and they need to move the chains on third down the quick looking pass coleman did a good job defensively as harney makes still another tackle we have him unofficially for four tackles in this opening quarter ron now what's going to be important whether chris coleman learns from his last time out there and blocks the right man otherwise south carolina has a chance to block this punt if they so choose to do so let's keep an eye on the bottom of your screen because that's where they came from last time that's coleman right here at the end of the line of scrimmage 40 and 32 yards on his first two punts tonight for earwood hold up oh what a dandy kick into this win that is incredible all the way back to the 11 yard line a missed tackle and now here he goes out over the 40-yard line boo williams came very close to breaking it 45 yards and a kick which is virtually impossible into this win and a 30-yard return ron one thing when you do well in the first game in special teams the other team puts a target on your back so there is a commercial coming your way as we take a break with 311 left in the opening quarter and still no one on the score and mike got freddie 3 11 left in this opening quarter that's all they have left with the win and you look for south carolina to air it out here here's where ron i would expect a long pass in this next three minutes to try to take advantage of this wind so we'll see in fact the rain has lessened just a little bit the wind is still gusty and it is very strong at south carolina's back here comes the reverse hood back into the short side of the field cuts it back on a secondary that is very tough to outrun brian williams makes the stop and he is all the way down inside the 30 and it's a gain of 33 and that is as good as carrying it out that's as good as a long pass a reverse where you get a fast blowing defensive football team look at the linebackers move to the left carry hood off and running on the left side puts south carolina in great field position again you could see the veteran lloyd harrison hollering to the rest of the defense watch for the reverse because he saw his man vacate and head behind the running backs they come back to the open side of the field boo williams and that is a great open field by tony scott i'll tell you williams scott wilson and lloyd harrison i think they are a tremendous foursome excellent defensive backs and ron you talked about harrison saying it's a reverse reverse but when you get a team of blitzes as much as north carolina state they're blitzing all the time and you get that traffic caught up inside the reverse is a great call on a particularly on a field like this because those big guys in there they don't have the ability to be direct that's right can't redirect and on a night like tonight it's hard to redirect anyway we're glad to see this rain is subsiding some here's an option play this time to the open side boo williams tries to get a block from his full back and nixon gets taken out of the play and a check on the sideline with adrian karsten adrian ron honestly i don't know what's more difficult for the players to compete in 100 degree heat like we had last week in austin or in storm conditions like this i'm up underneath the north stands at carter findlay and i've discovered a live shot on a weather monitor i want to show you it will illustrate the fact that yes things have calmed down a little bit this is tropical tropical storm dennis about 300 miles in length we're right here you can see a little bit of a break in there maybe some more break come into the first half and then more storm to come down here athens georgia i'm going to go on scott earwood williams is the deep man as you look at earwood waiting for this snap back at the 25-yard line two games he's the most valuable player so far for nc state he really was last week and it has been here tonight as well it's a good pass and again south carolina with a return wobbly spiral but it bounces away from williams and this is going to go out of bounds at the 23. ron another another nice job by scott earwood because he kicked away from boo williams so just a marvelous punting job yards on that kick and now four seconds that's what south carolina has left in this quarter to have the wind and rain at their back [Applause] teddy high school option quarterback 4-5 speed [Applause] play action wanted to go on time the pressure was there oh my goodness what a hit and coming up out of the secondary brian williams and i'll tell you if you're going to catch a pass or run the football against this secondary you better wait and button your chin strap that's the end of you're just always digging out of the world on the offense the penalty has declined standing on the sideline talking to his head coach as this probably is going to be declined and he will bring in the play from the sideline that's interesting ron because they they lost three yards so they probably figure with the loss let's spend it down make it third down let's get the football back well the stats in the first quarter you can see the total yards heavily in favor of south carolina but they had the wind within the entire quarter pressure is on he is hit ball is loose that is alive it is recovered at the 10-yard line by nc state as jameson makes the recovery brian jameson's having a big ball game here in the first half he's been all over the football field he makes the hit another turnover by how bad the conditions are blitz coming up the middle robinson hit behind the line of scrimmage by pinkney and there's nothing there [Music] well mike if they go for a field goal if they're not able to get it into the end zone here ken passingham does not have a career field goal he didn't try one last week so you know it's one of those things where there are still many many questions to be and also in the vicinity clayton white was about to pounce brian jameson's having a highlight reel here in the first half number 20. he goes after petty no sees the reverse coming makes the play on norman causes the fumble and again sets south carolina back further an excellent play on a wet field by brian jameson number 20. then you could see as i mentioned clayton white number 15 coming in to pounce on the football just got to hang this one up to petty third and 29. under pressure again petty gets it away tipped incomplete boo williams the intended receiver and that was jamison again when lou holt skip holtz watch this tape they're going to see enough of number 20 brian jameson to know that he wrecked their entire game plan in the first half [Applause] weld south carolina a moment ago until a holding penalty brought the ball back had rambled into the end zone apparently to take the lead the penalty pushed it back then another penalty and then a fumble and right now they're punting slightly exaggerated but lou's not completely ruling that out i've always felt if somebody can do it better than i can then i'm all for it and right now he took the offense we had and he's expounded on it and he's done a great job but by the same token to say that i'm not involved or i'm not going to make some calls or anything else or i'm going to stand on the sideline and say we're going to do but would be a mistake well as you can watch him move up and down the sideline he's a long way from being uninvolved in the barnett gives it to robertson has five has 10 and counted off at about 12 yards on the carry before sheldon brown with the tackle ray robinson had a high ankle sprain the fall camp lost his job to kj stone but came back in that texas game he ignited the first drive and night and they did the texas game also [Applause] another 37 seconds left a great opportunity for south carolina petty rolls to pocket waits a long time and now just throws that one away ron bad routes by south carolina's receivers there's no place for phil petty to throw the football both wide receivers kind of uh gingerly ran down the football field there was no place to throw the football those conditions i think skip hold that's a toss-up to me the most disappointing thing is jamie barnett the high expectations he could become the most prolific passer in acc history last week and now this week he's gotten off to a miserable start ronnie's frustrated number one he's not getting any help they don't block for him in the offensive line the receivers can't get away last week he's 9 out of 26 65 yards and interception 2 for six and the weather conditions play a big part of that also on the other side south carolina penny the quarterback having a tough night turning the ball over here then they get a touchdown but it's called back on a holding call then they come back with a reverse fumble that get out of field goal range and then lou holtz giving his quarterback petty some instructions on the second half so when you look at the stats in the first half the turnovers by south carolina huge but i'll tell you a time of possession well in their favor and because of that it's only a three to nothing ballgame yeah now north carolina state big here in the third quarter they got to make some hay with the wind at their back if they don't south carolina's got a good chance of winning this game in the fourth quarter moore with the kickoff and all the way back one yard deep into the end zone is brewer [Applause] door tries to get to the outside going to be tackled at the 26 class ron this is big for north carolina state now they're getting manhandled a little bit on the last two plays now they missed tackles that's the reason watson broke away for the long run well what a bonus if they could pick up a score into the wind before they get the win at their back in the fourth quarter first man through short yardage knees trying to cross them up a little bit on second down jeff fisher with the stop well yeah you need an inside attack and that's what they're trying to do with knee smith they're trying to attack inside inside outside pass and you want to get all those things going but this is a big third down for them because they've had problems kicking field goals lou holtz and skip holds want to pick this first down up they do not want to go for a field now a decision for lou holtz nope no decision it's coming back ineligible receiver downfield down field you expect mistakes in the first ball game you really do because no exhibition game in football this is your exhibition this your first time out but south carolina's made too many mistakes [Applause] see if we can find out i think the ball was thrown across the line of scrimmage right penalty from the previous spot repeat third down what happened ron on that is the ball was thrown by phil petty enough to take the receiver downfield lineman downfield so it's going to come back and as you suggested that the play was designed to be caught behind the line the line of scrimmage and as it turned out those linemen were trapped so it's third down [Music] [Applause] swings it out that's a nice catch by watson he fumbles the football and jamison is the man who knocked it loose and recovered by brian williams flag down too ron how many times can you give the football up now i know the weather conditions are like they are tonight but just keep making the same mistakes that they made last year coach holtz coaching on the sideline on the offense penalty is declined first down we've talked about this young man the game he had last week brian williams is off to a just superb start in 1999 mike the dangerous thing on the pass that actually was a lateral it was thrown away from the line of scrimmage a great job by watson just to hold on to the football that could have been a ball that was alive you're very right impressive young freshman backs for south carolina big opening on the right side for robinson and he will take it out to around the 19. harney comes over to make the tackle ron last year remember 110th out of a 112 in turnovers they're they're minus 13 they're minus four tonight that takes time to overcome that that's a lot of it's mental a lot of it field position tonight but you can't make those mistakes and win and you have to team up with a big play like the run they had a moment ago and come away with no points and last year lost four games by less than a touchdown [Applause] [Applause] the cornerback south carolina's winning this quarter with the wind at their back nc state they better get a first down be close no no no no wind continues to blow the rain continues to fall not quite as hard as what we had in the first half some people went home at halftime but there are a lot of hearty souls that are still here i guess most of them figure they can't get any more saturated than than they are right now [Applause] where he got a small quarterback in jamie barnett six foot but you may still elect not to take the ball off the line of scrimmage and let him quarterback sneak here but cleveland pinkney has been getting penetration at the nose guard derrick roberts again with a nice block he was on abraham the big defensive outside linebacker this is the kind of game ron coaches they always earn their money but they really earn their money tonight because you're always looking for a little edge in this weather condition something to try to spark it south carolina had the little pass where the back gets the line back [Applause] third first time we've seen him carry it tonight and those fresh legs showed their worth well michael keane told us the other day when we met with him he said i got to get rashaan spikes back in the game he fumbled on the first carry against texas but he had 176 yards rushing last year in the micron pc bow so he's a very strong back and you mentioned a good point he's got fresh legs in this game three to tremendous potential d'antonio burnett a freshman who was playing high school ball last year number 45 out of warner robins georgia boy the coaches at nc state love him and they always said they said last week at texas it's hard to keep him out of the lineup edric smith gets hurt hurts his knee burnett right there to fill in option play teddy well i say an option play he did have the option could have thrown it or he could have later the ball and let's check in on the sideline again with adrian ron for the first time in his 28 years as a college football coach lou holtz told me he was ready to take a hands-off philosophy with the offense well i got to tell you at this point he really has let skip do his job i've been sticking with him yard by yard here as he moves up and down the sidelines even though he has the headsets on he's letting skip run the offense he is not interfering very much at all i can tell you this adrian when the head coach puts the headsets on he's involved betty drills the pass and a really tough throw throwing across the body into the wind and into the ring and actually the play was well covered by tony scott when you put the headsets on as a head coach you most there are a lot of head coaches a lot of ways to do it uh you like to have your offensive coordinator make those calls but lou holtz is right now involved he knows they have given up so many
