For those who aren't college football fans, the reason this is such a big moment is that Tennessee and Florida are huge conference rivals. They play each other every year and during the 90s both teams were very, very good. Florida had beaten Tennessee 5 years in a row, and in 4 of those years that was Tennessee's only conference loss.
On top of that, Florida head coach Steve Spurrier had become notorious for wise cracking trash talk and aimed a lot of his barbs at Tennessee. The most famous one was "you can't spell Citrus without UT" - the Citrus Bowl was the bowl game that the 2nd place team in their conference went to and so because of Florida, Tennessee had gone to the citrus bowl several times.
So that's kind of the back story to why this was such a huge moment for Tennessee fans. Tennessee actually went on to go undefeated this year and win the national championship.
And we haven’t had a reason to storm the field since...
Even as a Gator fan I get goosebumps watching this. So sad that we won’t have this type of atmosphere for at least a year - even if football season does happen this year.

Vol fan here. I was 10 years old when this happened. I still vividly remember every detail of watching this game with my family at a Gator friend's house.
On a missed 30 yard field goal. I wonder how long that stuck in the kickers head.
