it coming from upstairs those linemen come out very very late and here it comes up the field you get excellent support by Oliver but he can't quite make the play excellent running also by Anderson and reading those blocks Otis Anderson who was a number one pick of the Cardinals back in 79 and rushed for over a thousand with a Giants last year as young legs at 32 gets the call again [Applause] differences from game to game in the amount of available equipment does that concern you it doesn't concern me I guess for two reasons number one the two teams are playing with the same amount of equipment in the game and number two with our two minute limit this year for reviewing the video no one's gonna get eight or nine or ten camera angles anyway so we're basically be looking at roughly the same number of camera angles in each game now what about in a very big game very big late season game with that two-minute rule in effect and if after the two minutes have gone by just for the purpose of enlightening the audience the network covering the game comes up with what is now the definitive replay and it clearly overrules the call that is just stood or should have and you don't have the capability because of the two-minute rule well the coach has said you know that we should strike a balance and everyone felt we should strike a balance between having the game move along as you know the rule is that the replay has to be clear and indisputable and if you can't make that judgment within two minutes the consensus among the coaches and the teams was that we should go back to the field and play well well let's jump to a couple of issues you're gonna have to deal with I think he is shortly how about Eric Dickerson when you anticipate making a decision with what's gonna happen in I think probably sometime this week I'll get back to Erika and to the Colts with some indication of what I think they should do and whether there's anything I can do about it frankly how about Clarence Kaye I think you've got some kind of an idea of what you might do with his situation well Clarence you know was arrested for speeding and I think I've seen enough not to convince me that Clarence should be permitted to play for the Broncos and I have informed the Broncos of that recently there is some feeling in the league you got an important meeting coming up Tuesday where the owners are gonna come in to vote on a practice squad some of the owners think that this might be the first step towards a new collective bargaining agreement with the players how do you feel well I don't see it quite so globally I think it's important for two reasons number one it it's responsive to what the coaches and the football people want they wanted these practice players and I think management has an obligation to be responsive when it could affect the product number two I think it is significant that for the first time representatives of the teams and the players have gotten together they've listened to each other carefully they've gotten off their positions and moved toward a middle ground and reached an agreement that I think is significant finishing up where we started is it fair to say that replay coming into this season was again hanging by a thread it seemed a couple years ago it was sustained almost as a personal tip of the hat to P pros l then you had to step in and lobby again this time is it always on the brink well I think in this league there always be some people who will oppose instant replay but this year with the changes we made maybe we'll have a
