What a magical season. I was six when the Bills went to their first SB. That OL and DL were ridiculous along with two HOF WRs, a HOF QB & RB, a HOF DE. Did you see we actually had an excellent special teams unit? Just a ridiculous team from top to bottom.
"When it's too tough for them, it's just right for us." I feel like we're getting back to this now with that sweet, sweet Process. Now, where can we find five future HOFs??
I must have watched this 100 times. Everytime they would show the wide right, there was a little part of me that said just maybe this time the ball would go through the uprights. Oh well.
They should go back to the red helmets.
*IF* I have an hour to kill? Sir, if I'm at work between Christmas and New Years, then I have plenty of hours to kill.
It's amazing how much of this I had forgotten. I went to Univ Buffalo for two semesters in 1989 and I've been a Bills fan since.
It's also a grim reminder of how each component of the team has to be great in order to go far in this league. Pass rush, secondary pass coverage, run defense, quality QB/RB/WR/TE, special teams plays, coaching that can draw up plays and adapt to teams; it all needs to be there at the same time on one team. You hear some of these numbers and it blows you away; Thomas ran for 200+ yards, Kelly had 200+ yards passing in the first quarter, there were numerous blocked kicks and punts in the first six games. We have a long way to go.
Still have this on VHS.
Scott Norwood is a class act.
Totally awesome - this team made you believe and it was so much fun
Oh, this brings back such great memories. I was blessed to have seen those Bills in person; as time has passed, I realize just how special that team was.
You have to give credit to Bill Polian for putting that squad together. A hungrier and more aggressive coach than Marv Levy would have brought home 2-3 Superbowl trophies from that run. But Levy was just too nice a guy, it felt.
I bet no NFL team will ever break that record of 4 straight SB appearances. None.
