so since I don't plan on splitting the cases at all I figured the best plan of action to clean them was good old-fashioned elbow grease while the motorists old together and sealed up and use a combination of steel wool degreaser and a toothbrush and clean the engine cases as best they could [Music] these cylinders can be real pain to get off sometimes I've seen a few ways to get them off the way that I'm resorting to these particular ones because they're so hard so I got an m16 by to tap I'm just threading down up until it bottoms up onto the stud and then I'm using these big bolts here they're kind of working them all down at the same time push down on the stud and lift up on the cylinder if you see here it is coming off pretty good and again just a little turn maybe quarter turn and eighth of a turn on each one and just work them a star pattern so you're not pulling the whole head off evenly this isn't again be-all and end-all method it's just this particular situation this is what's working for me just one thing to note if you are going to use this method is that the holes to the studs actually have a step-down bow halfway through at that point these bolts aren't gonna do anything and you're wasting your time so if I take my fancy depth gauge here and just slide it down I'm on the step so there you have it that's what two two and a quarter inches that's what all is definitely gonna get out of one of these bolts go there so again if you're threading in and you find that all four of them have just kind of stopped they're not going anymore ultimate you're doing cleanup the holes look down and you most likely see the studs are now flush with a little step down area okay and just as expected you're bummed out on the little step that I was just matching earlier seat down cylinders so that's as far as I can go with this current method I'm gonna resort back to using a block of wood and brute strength and try to knock this thing off the rest of the studs [Music] [Music] now they'll help prevent this from happening in the future there is a tricolour from some of the other kawasaki triple guys and that is when you re assembling the motor two coats both sides of the base gasket as well as the studs with the copper coat or a high-temperature npc's this will just make it a heck of a lot easier on trying to remove the cylinders in the future so next up is a sandblasted heads and cylinders after that in an upcoming video and we polish from the side covers putting them back together and get this old border looking brand new again [Music] thank you so much for tuning in watching these videos hopefully some help there by this information useful and the walk back or to pull model you guys I wouldn't have the knowledge to do this pass it on so please if you have any comments questions anything at all you like my videos like music one box arm with Carrie laughs commentary please comment below that subscribe button stay tuned to our page and I know it guys please write safe [Music]
