[Music] a [Music] [Applause] [Music] hey guys today we got an exciting truck this is yel and Nate with fusion and we had a 68 GMC pickup and it's not just a regular pickup but before we go into the details I want to let you guys know why I chased down this truck and actually we bought it yeah uh you see a lot of Chevy seat Tans out there a ton of them and they have a huge following and we love them as well but you don't see a lot of GMC's that this kind of work has been put into it so uh Nate give us some of the specs on this truck 68 GMC pickup we got Roadster shop chassis under there full Co four link nice setup we got a lt4 motor six-speed transmission right there I mean that's pretty much that's all you need to know classic style modern driving it's the way to goce Everyday driver lt4 you make it you you're downplaying it a little bit guys Roadster shop chassis you're talking like 35 Grand you're talking an lt4 650 horsepower 650 lbs of torque six-speed automatic 6l80 I believe right 6l80 yep on a on a beautiful paint job beautiful truck this is a cool truck very cool all right let's look under the hood so Nate you know me I like proven stuff yeah so besides the drivetrain being proven I really like how they use a factory expansion tank Factory radiator Factory fan you don't see that often yeah okay I love that cuz it's proven you know it's going to run uh it may have been a takeout maybe they they had a truck may it was a takeout and they had all the components and they integrated into this truck uh you can tell even on the Hydro Boost they did something interesting like that where it's not the typical setup where you buy it where it's already set up for it but it looks like they took a unit and kind of made everything that you notice that on the Hydro Boost it's a little little different than what we're normally doing the unit itself you know it's like a factory style unit they probably had a vehicle and took Parts off of it and I feel like they did a nice job yeah super clean simple just the way we like it if you're going to drive it you got yeah this one's got Vintage Air ac we're going to try it while we're driving cuz we are here in LA and even in the winter days fall it gets it gets warm we like using our AC's uh yeah so super clean uh interesting dimple di yeah those are pretty cool the oval the oval setup I've seen this on another truck I don't know if that's a kit or not cuz I've seen the same setup seen or maybe someone just makes them or you know I like it I don't even think I own a set of uh oval we're going to have to get it's pretty cool cuz we just go the r but that's pretty cool cool I like that okay and that's kind of the only this and the little cup with the GMC is kind of the only custom under here everything else is pretty Factory looking yeah and I wonder where they got this cover from a plastic to come off something but I love the old vintage GMC logo on it I don't know if it's vintage or not but it makes you feel like it's vintage but uh yeah super cool uh yeah did a little cow hood which is cool very subtle it's not a big yeah shots pretty good uh yeah it's nice what about Wheels what did they do for wheels on this one they got American Racing I think they call these ones Salt Flats if I remember right definitely that type that type they have I think that's what they call that that style with the little the little windows in them they're they're cool they're very old school uh styling fits the truck well fits the truck but oversized you know I think I 20 20 looks like 20in Wheels they ran BF good rich I looked at earlier it looks like 245s in the front and 285s in the rear tailgate is clean uh no bumper just shaved like roll pan in the back yeah looks like LED tail lights yeah I noticed the LED I think they had a couple other LEDs up here too on cool and then in the rear got the bed Wood's nice wood looks really nice the tubs look really clean all painted paint color is awesome too yeah gray color works so great there's so many Grays out there right now and different ones just to have the tint of blue in it really changes it it makes it unique but super super modern super cool yeah I love it let's go check out the inside actually I want to look at some stuff on the inside and then before we drive it well first of all great upholstery I don't know if it's a kit or not but it looks good looks and the headliner is great A lot of them just have the straight metal headliner painted they put this nice little headliner probably helps a lot with heat and insulation and even noise uh so I love it got a center console yeah I like when people keep the bench in a truck it feels right in a truck like this a lot of times people just go to some really sporty bucket seats and it it doesn't look right they got got the wood wood on the steering wheel wood on the center console not my favorite steering wheel y I would probably choose something different so I think the exhaust work and maybe the steering wheel yeah the exhaust I wouldn't worry about it cuz it sounds great it works there's nothing wrong with it f if I own the truck maybe I would get a different wheel you know what Nate what I'm thinking this time we should be a little smarter than when we did that Camaro because when we came back it was so hot and we got it on the lift why don't we lift this one first show everybody chass everything while it's still cool and then we'll go for a drive what do you think let's do that this time we're a little smarter we're going to lift it first last time we drove the car when it's all hot it was all hot it was a killer all right here you go guys it's another roer shop chassis on this GMC and you guys already know we're a huge fan of of the roader shop chassis great product changes the old ride of the vehicle um what I love about this truck is that you know that lt4 that we love so much uh the Builder on this one decided to go with a 6l80 uh that is a great nothing wrong with it works really well you guys will see when we drive it truck drives great uh but the lt4 again 650 horse 650 lb of torque on a little short bed truck obviously it's the way to build the truck put a new chassis new suspension new motor oh yeah old school looks it's it's favorite way to build a car for sure yeah they got uh adjustable coilovers what what kind of are they Nate oh these are strange coilovers and we notice there a lot a lot of people buy the rollster shop chassis but not necessarily get their coilovers maybe it's a price thing you know maybe they're a little pricey so they'll get their own coilovers and uh uh and Springs and then uh take it from there but uh this truck drives great I don't see you know any issues with it yeah really really nice underneath you know rock and pinion is set high again I like everything sitting high transmission sits a little bit lower than the frame rails but not horrible that's always sheld always kind of the the downside on them on these modern swaps it seems like the transmission pan is the lowest point with that you want to get the motor down but not below the cross member that's and we've used those oil pans this is a pan uh that packag a lot better yeah they botht right on we've used little less soil than Factory but they work great yeah they do work great and all painted on Neath ground cables all around rubber mounted uh nice builds you know professionally put together uh the only thing I would pick apart on this build something that I wouldn't do we usually do old stainless mandra brand exhaust uh this looks like they did the old build but then maybe send it to a muffler shop to do the exhaust it sounds great it works fine aesthetically it's just not as clean as the rest of the truck that's probably the only thing I would pick apart on this truck at this point right yeah we're used to our very high dollar exhaust everything's man B Ben everything's TIG welded it's it's another level sakota you know exactly looks like they use flow master uh Mufflers you recognize them probably know the sound when you hear flow master they're unique uh we're using more AA and corso and our built or spintex uh I haven't used flow Masters in a long time since we were younger but yeah I had them in high school exactly they legendary it's old school noise exactly four link in the rear so parallel four Link's nice you can hook up real nice you can get good geometry from it a little less articulation than a triangulated for link um for a truck it's great for something you're drag racing you're wanting that bite off the line you can you can really easily set this up to bite um I mean they still ride really great I mean it's with 650 horsepower it's the way to go yeah it's the way to go I mean that's I mean this so light in the back but you do need it to squat a little bit and and and get a good grip 9 in rear tried and true everyone runs 9 in even even if you're Chevy guy you're still running a 9 in it's it's the way came like a standard right it's like you know uh only F by the 9 in now that I think is a challenge it's hard to find good quality gears for the 9 in that don't hun for sure so you know we used to be able to get the Ford Motorsport gears where you know they're OEM and they made this legendary where you could put them in and you don't have to worry about no you know just said the backlash make sure they're right and then they they last forever yeah for the last 5 six years you know they discontinued the Ford Motorsport gear so you have a lot of aftermarket gears a lot of them come from overseas and doesn't matter how you set them up they're making a little no hum a little bit and stuff so I think that's a big reason why on our Elanor you know we're going very expensive yeah we went yeah also our 9 in yeah we're going like full guys to build it for NASCARs and stuff we spending a fortune to get rid of that noise but not easy to do I haven't heard it on this truck we'll drive it again we'll kind of listen to it but uh but people you know people always come up with fixes five six years ago and no one had a fix it was just like hey the gears ran out we don't have anymore but now they're getting better yeah they are getting better standing still gas tank yeah I think that this is a Rock Valley it looks like I used used this guy you them yeah yeah I never used them I I'm a Rick's guy so we buy so we have good luck with them so I've never used those guys but looks like a nice tank doesn't look huge though no no some of the tanks that we that might be 15 Gallons but maybe I'm wrong you know sometimes I think at least 18 because look how high it goes I think we have to fill it up so we'll find out yeah we'll do that yeah we'll probably need fuel so we'll do that all right so you guys can see the underneath of this truck we're excited to go drive it uh and talk about it show you guys what it does and how it handles all right let's do it sounds pretty good that sound good yeah it's pretty chill it's got a little Bluetooth little stereo brakes feel great yeah yeah we didn't talk about the brakes but it's got a Hydro Boost and then I think they're bear bear brakes six pistons in the front no I think it was the smaller kit it looks like the 11 or 12 in you know not not the big [Music] another thing I noticed Nate look it's got the the tap shift one on the low carart yeah it's the low car if you move it over you have the tap shift I'm going to have to see if that works I like this drop it's cool right it's very cool feels good yeah I've never owned a C10 truck but it's always been on the list of of ones that would want they're cool yeah they're fun and uh look at this Ro how bad it is but it takes it pretty well right doesn't rub you know it's really nice our roads here in La guys are I don't know what they're doing with the tax money but they're definitely yeah they're definitely not fixing the roads I don't know if you guys can tell but roads are pretty messed up and again I'm going to go back to this I know everybody always wanted a C10 I always wanted a C10 and they're they're fun but there's something about having a GMC type of a short bed like this which makes it a little more unique right you don't go to a car store and there's 30 of them [Music] right so should we see what it does let's see [Music] how all right that's pretty nice yeah I came off of it a little bit I need to see yeah yeah I didn't want to saw those cars in your like but it stayed straight yeah it stayed pretty [Music] [Music] straight all right guys well that was fun made me laugh uh yeah I was probably a little serious on the burnout uh not used to this truck so you know I didn't want to jump on it day one but it was good but yeah no it was fun it was fun this thing had no surprises LD the tires up and by the ways when you see the burnout when we closed out that's not that's probably 3/4 throttle I didn't go wide open you can hear it on the RPM it's just low low RPMs makes a lot of low and torque with that supercharger uh I don't know the specs on the lt4 for the 650 lbs of torque but I would assume it comes in pretty low yeah something cuz it's there so lot of fun love to see comments what you guys think about this truck and how do you guys feel about the GMC versus a Chevy C10 uh do you guys like them better still prefer the c10s uh love to know about that but again thanks for watching the channels we really appreciate it [Music]
