1966 Nascar Augusta 300

[Music] Richard Peddie sits on the pole for the 1966 or Gustav 300 Bobby Isaac will share the front row Ned Jarrett starts third a record crowd anxiously anticipate Stu start [Music] beep Eddie and Isaac roar into turn one [Music] it's nip-and-tuck through the first slap with no clear leader [Music] [Applause] [Music] Isaak appears to have the edge tiny lund started way back in 30th place Tinie has already passed seven cars and is carving his way through traffic as we go along for the ride [Music] [Applause] [Music] Isaak blows a tire and loses four laps in the pits Petie is the new leader Tinie is all the way up to fourth [Music] Isaak is back with a full head of steam [Music] Petie still has the lead [Music] Don Tilly blows an engine and brings out the yellow flag after sliding in his own oil [Music] Lee petty cleans the windshield during Richard's pitstop tiny has taken the lead Richard is still in the pits he is so anxious to take after one but he nearly tangles with Isaac leaving the pits [Music] Eddie and Isaac race nose-to-tail Isaac makes a move on petty Isaac gets by but is still a couple of laps down [Music] tidy is setting the pace [Music] Isaak is working on the leader trying to make up one of his laps lost during his early pitstop tiny is content to let Isaac pass [Music] [Applause] [Music] JT Putney blows an engine and slams the wall on lap 108 and tiny makes a quick pit stop under yellow [Applause] nerves can wear a little thin in the heat of battle it's lap 120 and lund continues his lead [Music] that is just waiting for tiny to make one mistake Anette Jared in number 11 has a lock on third place [Music] buddy baker is running night [Music] Baker loses a wheel and scrapes the war [Music] but he decides to have a look the race gets underway again with London the lead and petty right on his rear bumper [Music] the leaders fly by as Baker waits for repairs but Baker jumps in to lend a hand [Music] but he tries to relax with a cigarette [Music] Petie is pushing even harder but London won't give an inch [Music] late in the race the engine goes sour and tiny is forced to the pits [Music] tiny haulers at his crew to get it fixed but he's finished for today petty has a lock on first place [Music] Isaac has worked himself all the way back to second jared holds on to third [Music] Eddie takes the checkered flag ahead of Isaac and Jarrett [Music] Richard looks refreshed after winning $1,700 and jokes with the cameraman [Music]
