[Music] oh [Applause] what's up trc fans don't miss our annual street kings event at its new location bradington motorsports park on december 11th [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] my name is matt this is a 2015 corvette c706 currently it's a borowski built 427 it's an ls dart block rated like 2300 horsepower all the good internals cali crank cali rods diamond pistons probably the third iteration of this for this car that we've been through but yeah i mean it's it's been strong so far it's got bosch 210 injectors frankenstein intake yeah it's a precision pro mod 94. the car is running on motec so it's a little laggy at times but the motec really helps that out it's got rolling anti-lag so when you're when you're on the anti-lag on the highway boost comes in it goes but yeah i mean it's been a good turbo so far i think we're going to send it back to precision upgrade the turbo for uh texas 2k we haven't had it turned up past 24 pounds um i think it'll the highest 70's probably be 40 pounds somewhere in there at 40 pounds it probably makes around 1800 horsepower we're easing our way into it so we've had at the track a couple times mainly on wastegate um turned it up to 24 pounds for a few passes of the track it trapped 176. well we're not going to go past 40 pounds [Music] this is [Music] sequential six-speed samsonis uh transmission gearbox it's got wave track differential we were at the track last year when we first built the uh we finished this setup first pass was a success nothing broke um i got a little overly ambitious got on the two-step dunk dump the clutch spit the factory diff out so that was where the wave trap came from the trans has been fun it started off as a manual car in m7 and i had a lot of fun for years with that but it's just not fast enough to compete with the cars that i wanted to so i didn't want to go auto even though they're faster i get it but i still wanted to do something so we decided to go sequential and i'm really glad that we did because it's it's really fast the shift points are on point um and i'm still engaged in driving the car unlike an auto which again i know it's faster but you know i want to i want a visceral driving sense i don't want to lose that you know and you get that in the manual you don't get that in the auto um so the sequential was kind of a really good compromise and we noticed the shift points you know going from even flat shifting a manual car you know it's still you know six to eight tenths of a second you know now you're talking about two three it's plenty fast it's plenty fun and i'm glad i went that route it's a an rps quad carbon um before that it was an rps triple carbon before that there was four different versions of monster clutches when it was a stick car but this clutch is fantastic had no issues with this clutch the car right now is set up for e85 i don't even have a pump gas tune um i don't want one so it just runs on pump e we've got a map for c16 um the only time i'm gonna run c16 is at the track yeah predominantly his car is always on pump e i might throw in five gallons of one ethanol r in case i just wanna get spicy on the street [Music] um [Music] [Music] um we're in the car here with matt what's going on matt what's up man all right so this car pushing hot how much is this car pushing turned up probably 1800 so 1800 you obviously can't drive that on the street you'll just spin right so i'm assuming you have different settings for this car yeah different power settings so it's on low tech it's got a rotary switch right there setting one is wastegate which is like 16 pounds and that makes somewhere around 1150 1200 setting two is should be 20 pounds i think that makes 12 50 12.75 and then setting three is 24 pounds and it's all ramped in so it's not giving it 24 pounds off to hit but it's like 24 pounds at 120 uh and that makes like 1350 1400 maybe and then it's got a race gas setting where it's not a turn of the dial but anything under 50 ethanol um motec obviously knows that when you put c16 in so on setting three that's 40 pounds um i don't even know how much it makes 1700 something like that so it's not all the way turned up but again that's ramped in also so we'll try it on wastegate and if it takes we'll just roll in we won't get on the interlac and if it takes it then we'll see about turning up hey yup [Music] oh so we had the motec on the lt4 and the firmwheel is obviously designed for an lt4 so everything else worked out perfectly when we swapped to the ls with the exception of the ignition so this will still get into accessory mode turn all the power on prime fuel all that but it just didn't convert over to actually starting the car so what john did was kind of as a workaround we just went directly to the starter and here's our starter button i feel like that's the go-to nowadays if you're gonna have a really fast car push especially real wheel drive right gotta go motec so it was on so when we first brought chris on board um delgado to tune it it was on the factory the lt4 on a factory computer with a holley dominator piggyback the blending of the fuels because you had low side high side you had a secondary set of injectors at the time and trying to blend all that at the same time you know in milliseconds it's just not safe right so he convinced me to go motec amongst the master grid because you know cost the motec but i was like whatever i mean if it keeps it alive m150 right yeah it gives us everything we need and let's do it and i'm so glad i did because i mean it it controls everything i mean literally everything and the traction control is absolutely amazing now you felt it you got one hell of a bit built here i appreciate it thank you yeah it's only getting faster i mean we're we're finally i'm doing it right not being stupid and blowing up and breaking things because typically we build something and i want to turn it up as much as i can the second we go out and it doesn't live long so this time we're just just slowly easing it into everything like everything we've done is basically been on wastegate until we do that everything was lined out we got the trams out in got the motech dialed in the engine's out in um so now we're at the point where we know everything's safe everything's where it needs to be all the safeties are in place and now it's time to turn it up hell yeah [Music] dashes are expensive they're cool but i want to leave all this factory so it's just a surface go for our surface go that taps directly into the motec so anything that you can read on a data log i'm seeing live so if i feel like it's down a cylinder i can look at the egts i want to know how much boost is commanding real time or change the boost on a fly outside of the switch they can get in the boost controller and just adjust that on the fly um and it's nice also like you know we're doing remote tuning which i do a lot because my tuner is in texas and i'm in virginia um we can high spot in just he can be live and i can look at what he's doing as i'm driving hot spots suck but and he hates it he's always giving me support but it works when it works yeah do you have any future plans or goals for this car yeah so we built it it's a roll race car it's not a drag car so it's still got factory factory active axles factory drive shaft we want to try to see 220 225 plus and a half mile and we want to see if we can you know go around in texas you know last year or 2021 we did we did okay for what it was and not being done but you just don't see cars like this going rounds in texas you know you see lamborghinis and r8s and gtrs which are all badass but to have a poor event in the same event doing what those cars are doing you know it's not to be said for that speaking of which how many c7zs out there have a sequential transmission your car being street slash drag right yeah i don't know of any that are doing using it for that purpose yes i don't think i've seen a lot of uh this kind of setup on the street so this setup there's not another setup like this i think anywhere in the world where it's you know a c7 z that's ls swap on motec with a sequential i think this is probably the only one which is why i like it you know i thought about getting out of this when it was not working and it's blown up in a million pieces and getting into a twin turbo huracan or r8 but this is so unique you know there's not another one on the planet like it i'm sure one day i'll probably have one of those cars but you know when this car is working it's a lot of fun it's got soul because it's never been done so that's why it's going to be hard for me to ever get out of this only because all the blood sweat time effort energy money that's going into making something so unique works but it's not very easy it's been a long road yeah but now that it's working i can't imagine getting out of it cooling so it's been a challenge cooling this car um where the turbo sits didn't allow us to front mount a radiator so initially we did but we we mount it flat thinking that it was going to get enough air it didn't so i could only drive it at the track couldn't drive it on the street which at the time that was kind of all i was trying to do but then i wanted to get to the point where i could drive it on the street so we took it from the front laying horizontal to the back where the exhaust used to be because obviously the exhaust is coming through the hood now and late at like a 45 degree angle still wasn't getting enough air apparently in looking at wind tunnel tests these cars just do not get air back there coming up to where the exhaust used to be so we kept making diverters out of aluminum they went lower and lower and lower coming off the the radiator in the back trying to force the air up it would do okay on a cold day wasn't doing anything for us on a you know 75 80 degree day so it just got to the point where i told john the builder i said look we we need to throw a heat exchanger up front like let's not overthink this just put one in the front let it get all the air the second we put that heat exchanger in we saw attempts at 165 is perfect because prior to that this car just ran at 220 230 all the time which is not drivable on the street so now it's completely streetable temps are in line again and i drive it an hour it doesn't get above 165 so we're on point now i mean suspension is completely factory outside of menser coilovers um we did that right before texas 2k 21 and hoping that we were going to put the power down a bit better and it's done a good job i think we still need some more arrow in the back in terms of downforce but the menstruals have done a great job yeah so the front i don't want to put a parachute on my car i really don't but i think i'm going to have to go that route regardless um the fronts are still the factory fronts 15 and a half inch carbon ceramics in the back to fit the uh the 15s we went with little guys so it's welds all the way around bead locks in the back uh i think they're well s77s we powder coated those black mickey thompson uh 275 60 15. it's a pro or what what tire is that radio pro um and the fronts it's just lumistars that's right um well aluminum stars think it's an eight-inch wheel not skinny skinnies because i didn't want to lose the carbon ceramics up front because i like having that stopping power i don't want little you know it's not a drag car this car is not built to go down the drag strip so it was built to do a lot of roll racing we're going to try to see if we can mix it up in the half mile obviously texas 2k but a lot of stuff that we were doing was on the highway so i didn't want to put little tiny skinnies on it lose my ability to slow down if i needed to on the highway so that's where it sits currently this car has been a complete challenge because you know we started with a platform that was lt based which an lt-based engine is they're really efficient obviously they've made tweaks over the ls series engines but it wasn't enough for what we wanted to do with it you know we wanted to keep pushing the envelope we want to keep trying to go faster we hit a lot of speed bumps along the way with the lt platform you know when i first got the car i didn't want to do much to it but you know it's just a basic bolt-on car and then we sent it to rpm in fran up in in delaware we did a cam that was fun made like 770 horsepower but then um wanted more so then we did low-side fuel holly and uh procharger and f1a 94. that was fun car lasted and ran well for a long time but i wanted you know i made 1100 horsepower i wanted more and then i think we ended up hurting that engine which was inevitably going to happen because it was literally running on the ragged edge every time i had it um not the tuner fault my fault because i asked for it and from that point once we built it then i realized you know i can't keep sending it to delaware anytime something happens so that's where we found a good buddy of mine john at cutaway creations racing and i said look i i want a plan to you know build a big horsepower car it's going to be reliable that we can go fast with so we built an lt4 um slapped a put i think we put the f1a 94 back on it that ran for a while pushed the ragged edge with that i think i money shifted it broke the crank so on to the next lt4 build another one decided we wanted more power so put an f1x on it and then decided that wasn't gonna be enough so i threw a 250 shot of nitrous at it too and then i got sick of breaking blower belts i mean literally between the two blowers i probably broke 20 to 30 belts so i decided it's time to go turbo um and then also realize that you know when we built one of the last lt-4s my engine builder at the time said you're going to quickly find the limits of that block and we did we literally cracked the block you know pushing 1450 1500 horsepower and realized that if i want to make any more than that i had to go away from the lt and at the time there weren't many solutions for that other than noon and billet but i didn't want to spend the money on a billet block at the time so we decided that we would go ls and i think it hadn't quite had it been done once i think michael stout and vengeance did it um or we're doing it so we decided to go that route um jon it cut away custom made the uh the engine mount the motor mounts and there's a lot of reworking with the motec cars on motec so a lot of reworking and custom engine harness to make all that work but it all did and it actually came together really well you know now there's other options i think dart came out with a block for the the lt4 that's going to hold you know 1800 2000 horsepower but for us this was uh this was the best solution and boroski bit a hell of a motor uh i mean this thing is good for 2300 probably never going to see it on this setup unless we go twins which we might later but for what we want it to do it's been been strong it's been holding really well and we're looking forward to seeing what you can do moving forward [Music] my name is john mcgee from cudaway creations racing we're in summit point west virginia right outside the racetrack we specialize in late model gm performance but we pretty much do everything i mean ford's mopars classic cars muscle cars it doesn't really matter yeah so matt hit me up i don't know four years ago five years ago i don't know how long it's been he's like hey got this vet a good friend of mine had built it fran i mean talked to that guy every day at rpm he's my boy and he's like uh i'm really hard on this car and i really want to go fast no hard feelings i use like i just want someone more local that's like i'm going to break it every day so i need somebody that's there and i mean at the time we were kind of just starting out so i was still working out of my house and i was like yeah let's do it let's let's go crazy so he had brought me his car it was blown up and i was like okay let's do it so we got a badass 427 lt4 built went through the car the car was already on holly dominator put that all together the car made like 1100 wheel it was sick matt drove that for a little while i've learned very quickly that he's super hard on it because he broke things i didn't know you could break like matt said at some point you could you find a limit so we ended up finding limit at the lt-4 and at the time there really wasn't a whole lot other than modifying stock parts as far as aftermarket goes for the engines so i was like dude i know i can do it i was like let's put an ls in it and he was like let's do it i'm down and we in-house cnc made an ls swap kit for the c7s i mean the internet was pissed but at the time it was what you had to do so we put an ls in it put a single turbo on it and the car was just badass matt ordered a sequential from samsonis so i mean the car just really like went zero to a hundred like super quick there's been probably hundreds if not thousands of hours of r d in this car that me and all the guys here have invested and matt and just trying to make this car like the perfect street car i mean how many corvettes do you see single turbo that are driving around and not sitting on the side of the road boiled over i mean everyone's been there just for instance like doing the rear mount radiator setup i mean we were here for hours just thinking like before we even put it in just thinking of like what to do and it i'm glad we put forth the extra effort to do it because this car wouldn't been the same without all the minds involved i mean it's not just me it's me and mike and all the techs we have working here it's really a good team [Music] all right guys that'll do it for this video i hope you guys enjoyed i apologize for all the wind noise it's really windy out if you guys enjoyed the video leave a like let us know what you
