1700hp Escalade, 200mph passes, EPIC Racing!! (RaceWeek | Day 2)

good morning from race week 2.0 it's pretty early this morning because we have to drive to topeka kansas following all the races today it's actually only 215 miles or so the shortest drive of the week it's gonna get a little bit more interesting as the week progresses because these cars are gonna go through a lot going down the drag strip and going down the road to make it the 1300 miles this week we're gonna be keeping you guys updated so make sure to subscribe to the channel to see the entire week's highlights got a bunch of our friends from nebraska and all over the midwest leaving this morning we're going to see who could find along the way and the struggles they go through to make it to the next track [Music] [Music] what's up how are you guys doing well other than the fact that i didn't fill up my fuel tank before we left i mean we've gone what a whopping 30 miles down the road other than that i feel i'm going to fill up both both saddle tanks this time are you that's a good idea how much fuel can you fit in this thing uh right at 30. so i can go forever just you know this is my daily so yep we've seen you on a lot of these trips it's used to it's used to getting beat up yep how many of these events have you done um we've done drag week started 2012. with uh literally the paint still wet i mean that's right there in tulsa people were going by going and uh so this is our eighth time together really cameron was in sixth grade that year holy crap and uh his principal said well you know school takes place outside the building too that's right and and he's learned quite a bit i like that guy cooked up with a lot of good friends through the years and it's like a family reunion so awesome you guys have fun on the road do what you guys have fun on the road we're gonna we're gonna try we're having fun already i gotta go inside the room for the receipt there you go we'll see you later [Music] so some of these racers depending on their setups the gearing the transmission the combo under the hood they just can't drive that fast on the highways so we see some people like larry larson going 80 miles an hour plus and then we see guys like this going 45 and a 65 so i think it's the first time i've seen him on one of these types of trips he might be making some changes next year so you can make it down the road a little bit quicker the next track here on rocky mountain race week there's checkpoints each day today we only have one checkpoint some days we have three we're here in independence kansas at a park here with the vietnam memorial and the racers are pulling in here they'll be filtering through here all day over 200 cars driving through the neighborhood the the neighbors are getting a nice car show as the day goes on here we always love seeing what the locals think of the crazy guys driving race cars through the neighborhood he's out here taking photos it's been a good day so far let's see who else we can run into i'm disappointed joe where's the mullet oh hang on get your damn mullet on you gotta be in costume [Music] gotta get to full oh yes oh that's great okay are you ready so for those of you that have watched these video series before you know that we like to ride with the racers to see what the experience is like in the race cars that they drive down the road for over a thousand miles now we have a little bit different ride-along experience about to happen first time ever having a bike on a race week or drag week and uh you're ready to see what what this is all about yeah let's do this man i haven't run on the back of a bike in a very long time so i'm gonna rip this band-aid off [Music] you never know where this job's gonna take you i'm just happy it's matt [Music] so [Music] all right guys we were probably about 30 miles ish from topeka we roll with town for the last little bit not a lot of breakdowns on the road there's been a couple people pulled over but minor issues giving a thumbs up on the way and like i said jesus oh that was a b or a fly but it looks it scared me uh so yeah we're 30 miles away we're gonna hop up there it's a quick little cruise up there and uh it's 1 15 racing starts at four so we have plenty of time more than enough time hopefully everybody made it at least most everybody i guess we'll see when we get the track and uh yeah so 30 more minutes and we should be there [Music] [Applause] [Music] we're just rolling here heartland park topeka for the second race day here on race week we've got over 200 cars here in the lanes there's still a few stranglers out on the road either fixing their car they've got a late start but it's going to be a great day of racing beautiful weather we're hoping the track prep is going to be good today as well see a lot of the cars getting ready right now we're going to check in with a few of them see how the drive was and then hit the track we got a lambo at race week holy crap i think this is a first i know you found me i was uh hiding over here so you always find me though i know it looks so good we got a familiar face you had the porch a few months ago yeah i had the porsche the cars are so rude here i know come on royce we're doing an interview so you're laying low you brought the lambo out nothing flashy low exactly low key little low profile don't look so good yeah i mean i actually i ended up buying it uh when we were out at the last one i i've been looking for one and found it online it was out in georgia that was already done i didn't do any of it it's not mine my work the crazy part is this one's twin turbo uh i was wondering i heard you drive by earlier yeah it's uh they always sound great and i was worried that because i wanted a supercharged i think you know a little bit about these i love turbo v10 yeah but it's uh it's amazing it's like so much power insane it it really does blow the tires off it hits boost about six seven and it it goes is it all wheel or a rear wheel just rear wheel drive the 580 so you got a battle traction a little bit and it's a stock computer uh with the 850 horsepower so it's like their first basic package i think nice and simple that's what i like is just a nice daily driver take it to the grocery store smoke some cars on the way home smoking cars got it yeah yeah other than that i'm just gonna have fun this week because i'm about to hang out with all the guys in you guys hello hang out with cletus crew again i always tell them they if they like it or not [Laughter] they never invite me i just show up we're going back to great ben you never know who's going to show up we'll see what happens that would be amazing that would be amazing oh yeah whoa whoa whoa who's this guy uh oh you want to race nope nope no you don't want him he's looking for races he's all right all right just looking for a little grudge match you've got to be careful it looks great man awesome hopefully we'll see on the road get some nice rolling shots of it oh no you won't see anything no just fly fast cool enjoy the car see you guys all right last rocky mountain race week doug for most raceworks had his nova but it broke like the day before so we picked up this grand marquis well this time around james from motion race works is driving the grand marquis they kept the car they're racing it here today i'm gonna check it with them day two here at in topeka and see how the car is running and see what he's planning to do this week how we doing buddy we're here what what uh what new mom first of all what mods are on the car right now that we're on when doug did it all right so they did the fuel pump uh 18 volt mod to gain some extra fuel for the nitrous right gutted the car got as much weight out of it as possible of course took the hood off speed holes in the front bumper those are necessary just everything's possible here and then uh pretty much after race week took the car home and sat at my house we ended up doing a j-mod on it right before this just to get the [ __ ] a little bit firmer it's a little a little loose if you will from the factory they want that nice soft shift right trying to speed that up and then we got a fresh set of wheels and tires for this week so we can be on slicks all week try to get that 60 foot down yesterday we ended up going 1342 which was four tenths better than the thirteen eight in denver really yep zero picked up another four tenths which elevation probably helped out a little bit but uh so i'm just trying to try to look at my air box and see if there's something we can do here to i don't know we took the headlight out just trying to gain something somewhere the thing we're up against the most and i need to make a post here on facebook to see if we can get like uh an original tuner for one of these cars so we can delete the speed limiter oh what's the weather on this thing so it's 110 but when we went to the slicks it changes that exchange the ratio yep so we're at 99 miles an hour that's the fastest it'll go that's fastest really there's got to be like on craigslist somewhere somebody's got a box for one of these that's what so i'm going to make a post see if even by the end of the week we can end up with one that might be perfect i mean i think they're car specific so even if we unlock it for a pass or two to make a hit that'd be fantastic so we'll figure something out hopefully get rid of that we'd love to see it go 12s this week we'll just we got it we got some hurdles to overcome all right pie in the sky goal best e.t what are you looking for out of the week here 12.99 okay 12.99 we're calling it 12.99 that's so that's what we're working hey 12.99 you buy like a three bottle champagne it's going all over the car i mean we might yeah exactly i have to go to a something dumb that just happened to make it go like a little bit faster the 18 volt i think it's milwaukee battery fuel pump like it's over basically over revving the fuel pump to get more fuel so they can spray more nitrous that was i didn't even think that that was genius to me they still got it on there and it still works great so i want to see this car do well just because the story on it was awesome last time and they brought it back i love that they kept the car so 12.99 sometime this week hopefully fingers crossed love that car all right you said you were gonna make it and you you did you made it any issues with the trans at all if you guys put it back together not today not today not today i'm glad you said today because you're not leaving the opportunity that could go bad job i love this since i saw it yesterday and then i found out joey berry or joe berry joe berry you guys might know him he's got a 56 56 chevrolet he's on drag week race week he's done in a while but his son is now old enough to do race week so his son i think he borrowed this car and crazy paint job on it he's got a mullet on and joe is in the passenger seat this week joey's wrenching on it and driving it and uh this car is just awesome so we're gonna find out set up on it i looked at it all day yesterday just it's the coolest freaking car in the world we're gonna talk to him about it how's it going boys good how are you sir not bad when's the last time you did a race week 2015 was our first was it we did the first year and uh this is the first one you're doing i'm driving you're dr i'm sorry not you yeah you've been co-pilot for a few of them give me the uh give me the specs on the trans am here it's 1981 okay trans am the original turbo trans am obviously doesn't have the turbo motor anymore it's a big block chevy it's my mom's motor for her raceway car we pulled it out put a different intake on it gotcha and put nitrous to it so we're gonna see and it's backed up by also her transmission you're buying all you're borrowing all mom oh yeah those are her front wheels um so all the drive trains borrowed not the car all her drive all the drive trains my mom's the car itself is borrowed from a family friend gotcha okay basically gutted it and redid everything from scratch so all the drive train stuff everywhere the paint is meant when you got it and rolling shell oh really two weeks ago really yeah we've ripped i mean in just last week i wired the whole car rewired everything we didn't have a motor trans first time it started was wednesday last week and our drive here to topeka today was our first test drive what did you run yesterday 1094 on the motor okay and uh i've never driven a car this quick before i've been 1640. that's the fastest you've been before the i've never been bigger than 16.40 well in my six cylinder pickup truck there you go and so this went 1090 so we were just running a motor see if i could handle it really and now we're putting the bottle on z if we can go maybe a 10-0 or chip off the old block how much power is your dad's car 3 500 yeah so this is i feel like this is just in the jeans you should be able to drive a 10-0 no problem i would hope but so tenno's the goal today yeah maybe we'll see it only has a hundred shot in it right now we left the nitrous jets at home all right well thanks for talking to me uh that car with my paper out money when i was 12 years old are you serious really yeah just the body that's cool did you do much to the body or is it pretty much how you found it it was easy to chop the top four inches so what are you hoping to run with it what's what's the best time you've had on the car so far running let me play it if i don't pop really that's the way wheelie runs 12 flat every time but you're still couldn't get the tires to do it dialed in is it just like motor or you spread it does it no it just loaded me it's an old motor i pulled out of a truck that was in the yard that's cool made me smile when you pulled in i like the exhaust it grabs your attention right away that's all i want man yeah that's the luck he wanted i love it you guys have fun today i love the car on wood it drove great i didn't need the ac the weather was so nice you got decent fuel mileage like good drive now this this car on kill has done one like 960s 950s before unlike medium boost it went 950 right on kill of major not even kill it's never seen kill but the highest is made out of dyno 1700 on 27 pounds right 20 pounds went 950 152 and this is about like 14 or 15. right but we're trying to make it last the whole yeah we're trying to trying to finish yeah finish is the goal right there then next year you can get you can get all excited and turn it all the way up and do what you want but let's finish all right primary goal finish secondary goal finish with a nine something average there you go so i'm i'm playing blackjack here i'm not i'm not gonna what was your voice your time yesterday was that is one 10-1 okay so 10-1 10-0 so i'm thinking like a 990 or 980 tomorrow and then same thing in tulsa and then after that we can start knocking it down all right because it'll it'll do it i'm glad to see the car is doing well staying together and one and done today which not a lot of people get to do so congrats thank you we'll see you tomorrow we'll see you tomorrow whoa that's down pretty hard yeah yeah yeah old pants man ended up pretty bad but it ain't leaking that's good so hey the ls fixes that because on small block chevy we'd be sitting over here for an old man on it years oh yeah i guess i guess maybe maybe he's seen you around a little bit yeah last time i think last time i saw this was on the turkey rod run in nebraska where we didn't burn outs downtown rural cities it was a fun car i think after that he did a few modifications with the bigger turbo yeah possibly put the b160 [ __ ] in it [Applause] that's good for some quick passes what's the trickiest part about the car getting in that um gear i didn't get the fifth gear oh you have to go in the fifth here oh yeah we actually uh that last pass my ep went up my mile per hour went down dropped the tire a little bit what kind of 60 for you pulling it on some radials yep tomorrow for my buddy nice he gonna make race week this time [Music] mustang sitting at home so he decided to part it out for us oh really shout out to the child's daughter anderson yeah they look good on here thanks man we tried squeezing this those are 15s 15. oh yeah well that's a 10th right there but now it's full interior nothing's gutted still got the spare tire so that's how i like to roll i love this like it would be on the street beautiful and you got a trailer too yep an is300 toner trailer not too many times that's happened pretty much amazing what's the plate for under two meters yeah just so we don't have to tag in kansas uh oh okay i thought it was some funny custom plate or something just never thanks well i think you're less than a tenth behind tom which makes it awesome because you guys are like we're back in the game this is close we i was worried that we were starting to spread apart i think you're less than a tenth apart now you can probably talk to june about that you probably know exactly but i think you're left well hey we're making gains that's yeah he turned a 32 with a one you turn into 32 with a nine and he did 35 years he had 41. so you're like half a tenth away right there all right well keeping him on his toes get get her back in street trim and we'll see you on the road tomorrow man congrats thanks man hell yeah all right guys that's gonna go and do it from here at day two in topeka kansas for race week uh we had a great day racing a lot a lot of fast passes i think the top two are within a tenth of each other crazy day here tomorrow we have a 300 300 mile 300-ish mile drive to noble oklahoma and then after that we are off to great bend but noble's tomorrow 300 mile drive shout out to these guys behind me uh we had a little mishap with our golf cart trailer and we're getting it fixed these guys volunteered to come fix it for us so they're welding it up fix it up we're gonna get on the road here go to the hotel sleep get up early and we will see you guys tomorrow [Music] you
