over the ages and in all of those suits Batman has looked his best they say that the suit maketh a man but in this case it was the man that accentuated the suit however goofy the suit is when you put a bat in front of its name it becomes something else entirely a legend Mr Wayne yes every bat suit is a legend in itself the main idea behind the suits was to instill fear in the hearts of the criminals and intimidate them however it served other purposes too today we're going to explore this Legend behind every bat suit that has ever appeared well then suit up my bat Maniacs to the bat [Music] live action bat Suits now we'll be looking at all the bat suits that Batman has worn in the live action movies and are glad to fight for it Batman 1943 this suit was worn by actor Lewis Wilson in the 15 episode serial titled Batman that was released in 1943 by Columbia Pictures four years after Batman made his first appearance in Detective Comics number 27. in this serial Batman and Robin were appointed as U.S secret agents and their main aim was to stop Dr Deco during World War II they also fought off a Japanese crime Lord in Gotham's Little Tokyo as it appeared in the black and white show the cape gloves boots and Carol had a black color along with the strongman trunks the cowl had pointy ears and there was no warpaint around the eyes used under the cowl the bat symbol was unique and was done in black with white detailing the cloth Cape was short in size and didn't cover the girth of Batman as seen in comics the utility belt had a very silvery shine to it the suit was entirely tight with no armor or padding applied to it so it provided little or no protection in a brawl let alone a knife or a gunfight but it was quite funny and appealing [Music] foreign [Music] 1949 this costume debuted six years later in the 15-part cereal named Batman and Robin Robert Larry dressed up as Batman in this costume the show was done on a very low budget and it was quite evident from Lowry's suit itself as it didn't fit him like the previous suit this one was also black and gray the cowl was too big for Lowry's head and often his eyes got covered by The Mask no war paint was used under the ice the outwardly pointed ears resembled the devil's horns the cape was made of cloth and was larger than Wilson's bat suit and the utility belt was shiny the bat symbol was very unique and never used later in any of the batsuits it was black with white detailing and was placed on Batman's lower chest and continued up to his belly there was no armor or padding to it so there was Zero protection while in a fight this costume was later cited as a joke multiple times in Mystery Science Theater 3000 spin-off Rift tracks hold it Riddler Batman 1966 the first time Batman ever appeared in color was on Bill dozier's Camp classic TV series titled Batman the suit was the first and most iconic suit to appear on live action and was worn by none other than the legendary Adam West although the show was quite funny and Batman was quite Goofy and loved to do the famous Bertucci dance West's Batman is considered to be one of the best if not the best Batman that will ever exist in live action the bat suit won by West was all tights that had the best fit in live action since the first Incarnation by Wilson the cowl Cape gloves Trunks and Boots abandoned the black and were done in deep blue the cow was reinforced and fitted properly the nose and eyebrows were done in white on the cowl the bat symbol had a yellow Crest around it and it didn't have any border the symbol wasn't sewn into the costume it was a separate cutout which was posted on the costume in the pilot episode the utility belt was yellow and blocky and the Buckle was shiny and had a bat symbol on it the bat symbol on the belt buckle was different from that of the chest the cape was made of shiny silk-like material and was significantly shorter than Larry's version to enable Batman to move freely since the suit itself had no armor or padding and it didn't stand much chance in a knife or a gunfight but Batman avoided every knife and bullet from his adversaries by a little bit of Dodge and a little bit of Biff wow boom and Rose Victorious from every situation this version of the bat suit would remain one of the all-time bests forever [Music] Batman 1989 and then came a time when the audience wanted a darker Batman a darker Gotham the campy and the goofiness were abandoned in the movies as well as the comic books in the late 80s comic Batman had evolved to a serious detective and a crime fighter in a much darker Gotham so the movies demanded that too the first Batman to wear an armored batsuit was Michael Keaton in the 1989 movie Batman both Batman and a rough crime ridden Gotham channeled a Gothic Aura under the direction of Tim Burton the suit was done with a rubber material that outlined the muscles and provided a sense of armor to it it had a reinforced cowl this was the first time that war paint was used around the eyes when Batman wore the cowl this gave the viewers an idea that there was no gap between the eyes and the eye holes and it showed no skin it was shown as if the Carol covered the surrounding area of the eyes entirely the eyebrows and nose Linings were engraved in the cowl itself the suit was all black and Polished however it threw a slight bluish tint in a lighted up environment the suit was clothed at the joints to provide free movements the bat symbol had the yellow Crest around it and it had a black border the symbol itself was unique and had a bat tail toward its end the utility belt was golden yellow in color but the color was mudded down to keep the focus on the suit and the bat symbol Batman had no strongman trunks the suit was all muscles from waist down the bat blades on the gloves were reinforced and sharp capable of causing serious damage the leather Cape was long and encompassed Keaton's girth and was attached separately from the size of the cowl when expanded the inner skeleton gave the cape a perfect shape of a bat wing that helped him to Glide and also scare away the criminals as it made Batman seem like a supernatural being this armored bat suit could stop knives and bullets at Point Blank Range although it stunned the wearer it saved Batman when his batwing crashed in the climax scene with some major injuries of course this suit wasn't used in the sequels but will remain an iconic best forever with the only disability that Batman couldn't turn his head foreign s 1992 Keaton wore a second upgraded suit in Tim Burton's 1992 movie Batman Returns the suit was all black and the reinforced Cowell was much more engraved to display the facial features it was clothed in the joints to provide free movement however Batman couldn't turn his head in this Incarnation too the bat symbol sported the traditional yellow Crest with borders and it had no bat tail armor plates were shaped in the form of chest and abdominal muscles and provided a tactical look to it the glove blades looked longer and sharper although the cape was similar to 1989's movie with the gliding capacity however the cape attachment was invisible as it originated from under the cowl headpiece the suit was bullet and knife proof and had no trunks the utility belt was yellow and flashier than the previous movie War paint around the eyes was used to provide the illusion of a completely covered mask however in the end when Batman tore off his mask Keaton had no war paint on around the eyes this suit didn't make it to the sequels as Keaton didn't star in any of them however an evolved version of Keaton suit will make an appearance in the upcoming movie The Flash and Keaton will star as his version of the Batman as well Batman Forever 1995 the main bat suit the Batman movie franchise was soft rebooted to Showcase a new Batman and a newer Gotham in Joel Schumacher's 1995 movie Batman Forever it starred Val Kilmer as Batman he wore two batsuits in this movie the first bat suit was a completely new one that had a rubbery full bodysuit effect it's considered to be one of the tamest of the bat suits as it had human anatomy completely engraved on it and had well nipples the suit was completely black the cowl was rubbery and allowed a little head movement with war paint around Kilmer's eyes the bat symbol was placed high up in the upper chest and had the yellow Crest this suit had a very polished and shiny look and bounced off light even in the Darkly lit up scenes the leather Cape was long and all-encompassing and had gliding capabilities this was the first movie where Batman made an iconic jump from a building in Gotham with the help of his cape also he used his cape to literally crash a party from above and take down two faces goons by doing some assaults in the air it was fitted separately at the shoulders the utility belt was black as opposed to all previous movie incarnations and was designed with small pouches and a black bat symbol in the middle there were no Trunks and the suit was packed with muscular anatomy from weissdown the glove blades were sharper the suit is bulletproof and knife proof like Keaton's this suit appeared in this movie only and wasn't used in the later version foreign forever 1995 the sauna bat suit in the movie Batman Forever when Batman's identity was discovered by The Riddler he attacked Wayne Manor and made his way to the bat cave he did a massacre and destroyed all of the bat suits in there injuring Bruce severely when Bruce was revived he went to the claw island with Robin to save his love interest Dr Chase Meridian this time he wore his last surviving bat suit a highly upgraded and untested suit known as the sonar batsuit this suit was Salisbury black in color and bounced off light from all angles the muscles were not embossed and realistic it was a high-tech tactical suit with muscle outlines for show this suit had no nipples the bat symbol encompassed the entire chest and wasn't confined within the yellow Ellipsis the cowl had more anatomical detailing with technical details in the side of the ears the utility belt was more metallic and sported a yellow bat symbol in the middle the glove plays were wavy and connected together the eye hole was very large and used black war paint around the eyes to cover the Gap the cape was long and encompassing fitted separately on the shoulders it had lenses that slid down the eye hole in front of kilms eyes and acted as a screen for sonar mapping showing him his surroundings through sonar mapping and also acting as a homing device for his batarang this suit didn't appear in the sequels Batman and Robin 1997 the main bat suit Batman was recasted in the next movie by Joel Schumacher named Batman and Robin he was played by renowned actor George Clooney while Batman Forever was an action superhero movie with a little bit of Camp Batman and Robin went full-fledged campy while Batman sported a bad credit card that lasted forever and tried to contest Robin in buying Poison Ivy at an auction Mr Freeze was an ice spraying clown and Bane was reduced to a Mindless lanky goon who muscled up on Venom and was a henchman to Ivy and this campy movie sported a new bat suit with well nipples again this suit was made in lieu of kilma suit it was black in color with a bluish tint when light reflected on it the cowl was detailed to match the facial features of Clooney and allowed limited movement of the neck it was a rubber suit that had the muscle anatomy done on it and was reinforced the bat symbol was placed on the upper chest and was placed inside the Ellipsis however it was in complete Black there was no yellow in it the utility belt was all black with small pouches and sported a black bat symbol on the Buckle the boots too were marked with bat symbols for the first time in the movies the glove blades remained the same as the previous movie a leather cake was used like Kilmer's costume and had gliding capabilities it was fitted separately on the shoulders above the cowl headpiece the suit was bulletproof and also cold proof to some level as it stood well against frieza's cold gun however the bat nipples were more defined and detailed and as such this suit has been cited as a joke in the years to come hibernating Batman and Robin 1997 the ice armored batsuit in the end of Batman and Robin Batman went to fight with Mr Freeze in an upgraded ice armored suit this suit had a bluish tint to it and had silvery metal plated highlights the silver plates had no relation to Anatomy at all and were just designs this suit actually had the reminiscence of kilmar's sonar suit from Batman Forever the suit had no nipples the cowl was similar to the sonar suit and had black war paint around the eyes to conceal the eye Gap the bat symbol wasn't contained in the Ellipsis and was in complete silver the utility belt was just a silver highlight and to notched things up Batman wore a metal plated Crush guard good redness the gloves had silver plated Knuckles that helped Batman to bat punch his opponents real hard the suit was bulletproof and knife proof and also supposedly iceproof the cape helped him to Glide and was attached separately to Clooney's shoulders this suit isn't considered as one of the good ones and was never used again can't take a little joke Batman dead End 2003 perhaps the most serious dark bloody gory and rough Batman to ever appear on screen was in Sandy colorus Batman dead End it start Clark Bartram as Batman facing off with the joker an alien and a predator all in one night although this was a short movie it broke records this was the first time that Alex Ross's batsuit was used in live action the suit was black and gray the cow was reinforced and had eyebrows and nose engraved into it it gave the sense of a tight mask that Batman pulled over his face this was the first time that Batman was given white eyes in live action courtesy of white lenses it gave Batman's face a scary and inhuman look the utility belt was black with a bat symbol on it the bat symbol wasn't placed within the Ellipsis Batman had his black strongman trunks that fitted perfectly over the great bodysuit with a light fabric leather Cape was large so large that it encompassed bartram's girth as well as the surrounding circumference Bertram was so stacked on muscles while filming this short that the gray bodysuit didn't need any extra armor or padding and he looked in posing in it this will be one of the iconic Renditions of the bat suit in live action Batman Begins 2005. the first time when a bat suit was treated as a completely separate character of its own was in the 2005 movie Batman Begins directed by Christopher Nolan it was worn by actor Christian Bale who played Batman in the movie in this movie every aspect of the batsuit was explored starting from the cow through to the boots in the movie Bruce requested Lucius Fox to show him the items that were stored in the Wayne Enterprise r d Department Lucius showed him the Nomex survival suit for the advanced foot soldier program it was made of Kevlar by weave with reinforced joints Bruce used this suit as his Bat Suit by painting it in Black the bat suit was tear resistant and could stop a knife but was vulnerable to a straight bullet shot Bruce used the Kevlar utility harness as the utility belt by cutting off the shoulder part the gas-powered magnetic grapple gun was used by him as the bad grapple gun to shoot ropes to a distant Target the 350-pound tested monofilament was used as the bat rope Bruce wore the glove Blaze that he brought back from his training by painting them black these plays were capable of stopping swords and breaking them the head part of the graphite Cal was ordered via a dummy Corporation from Singapore and ears were ordered from a Chinese company separately and the both were assembled manually the ear part had microphones installed in it and helped Batman to listen to any long-distance conversation and spy on his targets and after almost 45 years a clock gate was used instead of leather the cape was made of memory cloth and the gloves came with it memory cloth looked and behaved as normal cloth but when anyone put a current through it via the gloves its molecules realigned making it a rigid structure and giving it a shape based on the skeleton used Bruce used a skeleton that gave his cape the shape of a bat when he passed current through it and also gave him gliding capabilities over long distances the bat symbol on his chest had the same black color his boots were a part of the Nomex survival suit and had inbuilt sonar gadgets that helped Batman to call for backup although the suit looked bulky Batman was shown to move very swiftly in it this suit will remain iconic forever as it has an authentic backstory attached to every part of it the Dark Knight 2008 the bat suit from Batman Begins was upgraded in its 2000 8 sequel The Dark Knight it was directed by Christopher Nolan and Batman was played by Christian Bale this suit also had a bit of a backstory attached to it Batman was mauled by Rottweiler attack dogs in an encounter with Scarecrow and Gotham Mafia later when he had to bring accountant Lau back from Hong Kong he went to Lucius for help on upgrading his Bat Suit the new bat suit was a Nomex armor suit with Kevlar plates that were hardened further and dipped in Titanium with tri-weave fibers the suit was more flexible faster lighter and with more agility the glove plays were implanted separately on the hand gears and could be shot at the opponent with the throw of a switch however since the armor plates were separated the suit was vulnerable to knife and gunfire the cow was updated later in the movie and gave Batman the ability to turn his head freely for the first time in the movies it was fitted with sonar lenses that slid down and gave Batman a sonar Imaging of his surroundings the ears were a bit longer than Batman Begins the bat symbol was placed on a separate plate and was very small the cape was from the previous movie and could be shaped into a Batwing shape and helped Batman fly this suit was all tactical and very practical article in its usage it missed the magic of the suits that came before Batman v Superman 2016 the main batsuit the most comic accurate batsuit was worn by Ben Affleck in the 2016 movie Batman v Superman dawn of Justice directed by Zack Snyder the suit was black and gray and had inbuilt muscles in it to give an illusion that Affleck had worn a suit over the muscles that he stacked in the movie The Cow was all black and war paint around the eyes was used to conceal the eye Gap the ears were smaller there was an inbuilt voice modulator in the cowl that gave Batman a scary growling voice to conceal his original voice and made him seem more than a human Batman could move his head freely the leather Cape originated directly from the cowl headpiece near the shoulders and was exactly as it was shown in the comic books the bat symbol encompassed the entire chest and was inspired by the bat symbol that appeared in the story The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller the gloves had armored Knuckles on it the glove blades were smaller no strong man trunks were used it was all muscle from the waist down the utility belt was a blackish yellow in color the suit and Carol was bulletproof but in a close fight it was vulnerable to a knife attack the entire suit was Battle worn with bullet holes knife marks and torn Cape that gave an idea that the bat suit had been in action for years this suit was iconic as it made it seem that Affleck was actually Batman and could scare the Underoos off any Criminal Batman v Superman 2016 the armored batsuit another comic accurate batsuit that made its debut in Batman v Superman dawn of Justice was the armored bat suit that was fashioned after the bat suit in Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns which Batman wore in the final fight with Superman this suit was built to withstand heavy damage from Superman it was all metallic armor with glowing eyes and short ears the cape was fitted separately by the shoulders the glove blades were smaller with a wrap-around belt it was shown in the movie that Batman wore this armored suit over his back costume but not his Bat cowl because in the fight with Superman his metallic cowl broke revealing almost half his face his voice modulator was also inbuilt in the cow which got damaged during the battle this batsuit was so heavy and strong that it withstood a direct chef from Superman Superman threw Batman through a building but he was saved by the suit and also Superman threw Batman through the floor of a building but Batman survived this is also an iconic suit which was later shown in a glimpse in Justice League Batman v Superman 2016 the nightmare sequence batsuit an original batsuit made its appearance in Batman v Superman dawn of Justice it was in Bruce Wayne's dream where he had a vision of a nightmare world after the invasion of Darkseid in this world Superman had gone bad and succumbed to the anti-life equation and Batman was running a resistance against Superman and his minions this suit was completely original and was also used later in various comic books especially in Tom King's Batman run Batman wore his main bat suit in this timeline but wore a trench coat over it he wore dirt goggles over his cowl and covered his mouth with a cloth to save himself from the extreme dirt of the desert he carried assault rifles and guns to fight against Darkseid soldiers his gloves were exposed from under the trench coat and had wrapped clothes all around them giving the costume a very dilapidated look Batman wore normal military pants below fitted with knee pads and hostas along with high-rise bat boots this batsuit later made an appearance in Zack Snyder's Justice League in the same nightmare timeline Justice League 2017 the main bat suit in the 2017 movie Justice League directed by Joss Whedon Ben Affleck done the bat suit again in this movie The Bat Suit was a little different from bvs although the traditional black and gray was used the gray area was a tad bit darker dimensional seaming was used for more detailing and more muscles were added from the ABS to the biceps area this costume didn't have that battle worn look and seemed comparatively newer the cowl was redesigned to make the ears smoother and the facial features were more detailed with war paint around the eyes to cover the skin surrounding the eye the suit was bulletproof like the one from bvs the cape was made of leather and had gliding capabilities Justice League 2017 the Tactical bat suit in the Justice League movie athlete wore another bat suit during the third act while going to fight Steppenwolf and his parademons unlike the heavily armored batsuit that Affleck wore in bvs in his fight with Superman this tactical armored suit was much sleeker and stylized the metallic armor plates in the suit were sewn into it the Carol was redesigned with much more detailing and texture and had goggles on it the utility belt was the one that was used in bvs the cape was leather and helped Batman Glide although the suit was quite bulky Batman was shown to maneuver freely and fight with ease wearing it it could withstand gunfire and knife attacks this tactical suit was built to survive heavy damage during any battle and it had served the purpose Gotham 2019 this is perhaps one of the lamest suits to appear on live action in the modern era only a glimpse of this suit was shown in the Final Act of the final episode of 2019 Fox series Gotham although David mazus played Bruce Wayne in the series a different person wore the bat suit in this scene the suit was made of cloth and leather with no muscle padding adding to it what was funny was that the armor plates were defined over the bodysuit and were just designs it wasn't made to resemble the muscles of the wearer the entire suit was black the cowl had a unique prismic design and used wall paint around the eyes to cover the skin Gap in the eye hole the bat symbol was also in black and wasn't contained in the Ellipsis the utility belt was also black and sported a bat symbol on it a separate shoulder armor pieces were used from where the cape originated this suit was never liked by the viewers and also never shown in action Zack Snyder's Justice League 2021 the main batsuit the original code of justice league directed by Zack Snyder was released in 2021 after whedon's 2017 version bombed at the box office the fans started the hashtag release the Snyder cup movement to persuade Warner Brothers Studio to release the four-hour cut of Justice League as envisioned by Zack Snyder it was titled Zack Snyder's Justice League and was an instant hit this movie featured the black and gray batsuit exactly similar to the 2017 version however it didn't have the bluish tint at the 2017 version had the only difference in this version was the gauntlets it was fashion by Alfred and Bruce to absorb energy shots magic into the gauntless of Wonder Woman when Batman was fighting the parademons in the tunnel scene the parademons shot energy beams at Batman and he was able to block them with his Gauntlet glove moreover when Superman was resurrected and he saw Batman in front of him he immediately shot his heat vision at him Batman was successfully able to defend himself from the energy blast which were absorbed by the gauntlets giving him time until Lois arrived in calm Superman down the Batman 2022 in 2022 a new Batman movie directed by Matt Reeves was released this was a separate Universe from the dceu actor Robert Pattinson donned the batsuit for this movie titled the Batman this batsuit took heavy inspiration from the batsuit drawn by Lee barmejo in DC Comics and then built up on it the skull-shaped reinforced cowl with short ears and Battle Scars was used for the first time in live action this movie clearly showed Batman applying war paint around the ice to cover the skin Gap in the eye holes the facial features were engraved in the cowl and had a handmade look with visible seam lines the cowl was a separate piece and that helped Batman turn his head freely this was the first time that collars were used in a live-action batsuit the light fabric leather Cape originated from the collar and was attached to the shoulder and the chest piece the cape could cover Batman up and take the form of a base jumping suit and help him Glide across long distances the suit was not a muscle suit it was a hybrid between a tactical and a heavy fabric they were armor plates all over the batsuit starting from the shoulders till the waist the bat symbol was unique and could be detached from the suit it acted as a tactical knife which Batman used to cut an electric cable from electrocuting innocent civilians his body armor was bulletproof but susceptible to the force from the gunfire the utility belt was black and contained visible pouches to carry smoke grenades and other gadgets along with a holster at one side there was a gauntlet fitted into the gloves that had grappling guns which appeared from under the gloves Batman used this grapple gun for quick Ascent or escape from waist down Batman wore heavy fabric durable pants and reinforced boots this suit was highly tactical and was hailed as one of the most beautiful batsuits ever seen on live action filmations The Adventures of Batman 1968 this suit appeared in the classic filmation TV cartoon The Adventures of Batman the suit was a traditional blue and gray as shown in the comic books the cowl had black highlights and short ears this was a bodysuit and was supposed to have been worn by Batman without any padding or armor just over his muscles the muscle outlines were visible from above the suit the bat symbol was contained in the yellow Ellipsis and the utility belt was also completely yellow the strong trunks were blue as well as the boots the glove blades and the cape seemed to be for show and didn't come to any proper use it wasn't shown to be bulletproof and was vulnerable to knife attacks as it didn't have any armor this batsuit didn't really provide any proper protection during a fight but this remains one of the classic costumes in animation as it was fashioned after the costume shown in DC Comics in that era Super Friends 1973-1985 the bat suit that was shown in the 1973 animated series Super Friends was the same as the one from filmations The Adventures of Batman this blue and gray suit with black highlights showed very little visible modification the blue part of the costume was darker and the glove plays and ears were visibly sharper the muscle outlines were more detailed as the animation ran from 1973 to 1985 the design of Batman's cow changed over time sometimes having short ears and sometimes sporting long ones and sometimes sporting outlandish devil like ears there's no special call out for this batsuit it also had no armor and provided little or no protection to Batman during a fight however Batman appeared Victorious from every fight through hand-to-hand combat foreign the Animated Series 1992-1995. in the year 1992 a groundbreaking Batman the Animated Series from Creator Bruce Tim and Eric rondomski made its way to Fox network in this series Batman was voiced by the legendary Kevin Conroy the bat suit that was used in the animated series was mainly black with blue highlights and gray bodysuit the inside of the cape was Blue the bat symbol was placed within the yellow Ellipsis although Batman was shown to be very strong and imposing the artwork used in the series allowed very little muscle definition to be put on the suit the cow too had a unique design where the ears were bent backwards the yellow utility belt didn't have any pouches and was a single block having small cylinders where Batman kept his weapons the bat grappling gun was kept behind the utility belt and was hidden by the cape with the help of the grappling gun Batman could make an ascent and swing from one building to another the Dynamics of the suit was so beautiful that it came to hold an iconic place as the series itself the series ran for two seasons till 1995. [Music] wait Batman mask of the Phantasm 1993 a direct spin-off movie from the Batman animated series titled Batman Master the Phantasm was released in 1993. this movie belonged to the Bruce Tim verse and showed a glimpse of Bruce's first time as Batman when Batman done the first bat suit in the Bruce Timbers it scared the bejesus out of Alfred the suit was a prototype version of the main bat suit from the Animated Series it was shown to be black in color with a darker bad emblem on the chest the gloves were simple without any glove blades this suit had a similar black and blue color tone however it was shown on a grayed out scale in a silhouette this batsuit was just shown as a glimpse and wasn't used in the later episodes of the Animated Series the new Batman Superman Adventures 1997 following the completion of the second season of Batman the Animated Series the show was transferred from Fox to the WB Network where Superman the animated series was currently being produced and another cult hit animation from the Bruce Tim verse made its way to Kids WB Network it was titled Batman Beyond AKA Batman of the future and was created by Paul dinney Bruce Tim and Alan Burnett in this animation Bruce had given up being Batman after suffering a heart attack and the mantle of Batman was taken up by Bruce's genetically engineered son Terry McGinnis Bruce took Terry under his his enemies additionally he gained a woolly mammoth as his Ally and mode of transportation he was known as The Cave Batman Batman the Brave and the Bold batmanicus in the same episode Batman of the viewers got to see the bat manga the bat manga had Asian influence and wore the traditional costume with pointy ears with the blue part muted to the level of black Batman the Brave and the Bold batboy in the same episode we saw batboy batboy is a dwindled Dark Knight who fought crime in Cosmopolis city with the help of his sidekick Ruben he's perhaps the most unusual and interesting iteration of Batman he was actually a vampire and wore the traditional blue and gray suit he fed on criminal's blood by punching holes in their toes and drinking their blood in his utility belt he kept unusual items Batman the Brave and the Bold Green Lantern War suit in the episode The Eyes Of Despereaux during despereaux's attack on the Guardians of the universe and the Green Lantern Corps how Jordan made a selfless sacrifice to protect them all his ring ended up in the possession of Batman on Earth Batman traveled to Aura and joined forces with Green Lantern Sinestro Guy Gardner and gennard to of Nana Knights and bat Venom the serum turned him into a blood-sucking vampire the bat suit that was worn by langstrom was much of a bodysuit the cowl had red eye goggles that helped protect his eyes from Bright Lights there's no emblem on the chest Batman could fly and had the powers of a vampire as such he needed no extra gadgets to fight his adversaries his cow was fitted with a communication device near his ears he was himself bulletproof and the suit apparently was also as the bullets appear to pose no harm to him when he glided apart from flying he could open wings from the side of his arms to his wrists like a wing suit this Batman was brutal and killed his adversaries outright and then drank their blood Batman unlimited all batsuits 2015 to 2016. the Batman unlimited animated movie verse that started in 2015 featured multiple bat suits these movies were based on Mattel's toy line of the same name let's take a look at the bat suits from this line Batman unlimited animal instincts main bad suit the main batsuit which debuted in Batman unlimited animal instincts in 2015 was blue and gray in color the cowl was actually a helmet which was more articulated and had a chin guard and more detailing the rest of the suit was almost the same except for a completely new bat symbol on the chest where the large black bat symbol was contained in a yellow border even the utility belt was different with bright yellow and big bat symbol on it it had no pouches or cylinders on it the cape had gliding capabilities and the entire suit was fitted with gadgetry and an Arsenal it was batsuits that appeared in the Lego franchise Lego Universe Attack of the Legion of Doom in the 2015 animated movie Lego Justice League attack of the Legion of Doom Batman's main bat suit was blue and Ninjutsu mode and defeated the Joker Batman 2019 2020 all batsuits in 2019 an animated dark comedy started airing on HBO Max titled Harley Quinn this show was meant for an adult audience and received a lot of critical Acclaim let's look at the batsus appearing in this series Harley Quinn the main batsuit the main bat suit that was shown in this series was black and gray it was a part muscle suit that was fitted with tactical armor plates with muscular anatomy the cow was reinforced and had short ears and the cape originated from the cowl headpiece itself the cape had gliding capabilities the bat symbol wasn't contained within any yellow Ellipsis the gloves went up to the elbows there were only two Club blades instead of three and the legs had knee pads the utility belt was yellow and the 1940s with the ongoing popularity of Batman his scary image was slowly abandoned to give him a more cartoonish and softer look with a smiling face in 1940 artist Jerry Robinson joined Bob Kane and Robin was introduced as Batman's ward in Detective comic issue number 38 during Robinson's era the bat suit was changed frequently and upgraded to the look that holds good till today the sleeker form of Batman was left behind and a more buffed up version of Batman was introduced over time in this era the glove plays were introduced and also the bat symbol now had a bat head with wings attached to it artist dicks Brown came into the play and introduced his legendary Batman design in 1943. on the cover of Batman number 18. in this design Batman's Carol had shorter harder ears and had black highlights it followed the typical design of Robinson's batsuit but it made the tone even lighter to cater to younger audiences during Dick's Brand's era the eyebrows and nose Linings were slowly introduced into the cow Batman was depicted as a light-hearted fatherly hero during this era and an array of batsuits was shown in the years to come strange bat suits 1950 a plethora of batses were introduced in the 1950s mostly drawn by dick sprang in Detective Comics issue number 165 released in 1950 there was a story dedicated to the batsuits itself titled the strange costumes of Batman there case of the Midas touch to fool the criminals into believing that he turned to Gold the super thin cellophane costume was crumpled by Bruce Wayne and kept hidden in his boots when he went to jail so that he could become Batman in prison the Luminous bat glow in the dark costume was used to scare superstitious criminal Professor radium into submission then there was the interplanetary bat space suit that Batman used to fight off space pirates in the future there was the air costume in the sub costume and a very mysterious costume with a bird Insignia on it it helped Rob an impersonate Batman and also Breathe In Poison fumes and survive while Batman saved the Innocence the jungle bat suit 1952. in August 1952 Batman issue number 72 jungle Batman was released in this story Batman and Robin were requested by the commissioner to deliver the Sinister Aid millions of dollars worth of scientific equipment to Satan's Island however the ship was torpedoed in the mid-sea and Batman and Robin were washed ashore to a nearby Island it was on this island that we got to see the jungle batsuit while swimming to the island in the storm Batman and Robin both lost their suits when Batman first arrived on the island he only had his cowl and his black trunks after a few days Batman was shown to use a black wrap around over the shoulder to cover his upper body that was directly extended below the waist to his black trunks he remained barefoot in this batsuit there was no utility to this suit as it was just a Carol and a piece of black cloth the rainbow batsuits 1957. in March 1957 Detective Comics issue number 241 was released where we got to see another array of colorful costumes while saving a girl from a car accident Dick Grayson found out that some thieves had stolen camera equipment but was hurt in his left hand he and Batman deduced that the thieves must have done it to poses cameraman and go to some event in Gotham so they could get their hands on something valuable dick was the only one who could identify the thieves so Batman and Robin decided to go to all the major events in Gotham however if people saw Robin had an arm injury they could have deduced his secret identity so Batman decided to wear colorful suits to draw attention to himself first he wore a red suit then the blue next day and then the gold next day he wore the orange one to a dual show from where he was asked to leave as he was eating up all the attention then the next day he saved a ship in his green costume then the next day and a rifle sharp shooting contest Batman wore the white Target costume where a sniper shot him but Batman had a steel vest under the costume so he was saved and finally Batman wore the famous rainbow costume at the monies of the world exhibition where the fake newscasters went and Robin pointed them out and Batman caught them the rainbow batsuit also made an appearance in the animated the Brave and the Bold episode the last Patrol the batsuit of Zur NR 1958 in February 1958 Tiano the Batman from the planet veranar made his debut in Batman issue number 113. the story was titled Batman the Superman of Planet X in the story Tiano came to work to take Batman to his planet to defeat alien attackers in their giant robots his Bat Suit was designed by Dick's brang it sported a lot of colors together the cow Cape gloves strongman Trunks and boots were belt when Batman and Robin attacked his Hideout the machine was activated and charged Batman with the lines of force turning it into a zebra batsuit after that wherever Batman went objects and people were thrown away from him by the lines of force everyone stopped going near Batman and he became an outcast Batman tried to go near zebra man but was repelled by zebra's electromagnetic charge later Batman planned and charged a manhole cover with opposite polarity and attracted zebra man took his belt and turned zebra's costume off he then wore the belt and nullified the lines of force in his Bat Suit but not before fending off the criminals with his lines of forces zebra was jailed and Batman saved the day the mummy bat suit 1963 The Mummy bat suit debuted in Detective Comics value number one issue number three two zero in October 1963. it was designed by artist Sheldon moldarth Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson were exposed to an unknown radiation from a device in an extraterrestrial spacecraft and their skins turned green in order to fend off reporter Vicki vale's suspicion of their secret identities Batman and Robin wrapped themselves up in mummy-like bandages and started fighting crime later the effects of the radiation passed and Batman was able to revert back to his original batsuit the suit was just used for concealing the dynamic Duo's green skin and had no extra features the Silver age redesigns late 1950s to 1970. the Golden Age of comic books ended in 1956 and the Silver age started during this period all the previous comic book readers had grown up in Morrison and drawn by Dave McKean McKean had his own artistic Twist on the traditional blue and gray batsuit he drew Batman mostly in Silhouettes and shadows giving him an enigmatic look the ears were very long and the shoulders were pointy and turned inside at the corners to the point of exaggeration the cape was drawn as if it had a life of its own and moved like a sentient being however this The Intergalactic alien Hunter known as the predator in their first battle Predator beats up Batman broke almost all of his bones gave him a head trauma stabbed him with a sword and left him for dead after a period of absence Batman returned in an exo suit fitted with metallic armors and a helmet that helped him to see properly even when his vision was still impaired from the last fight the suit had automatic controls in the utility belt with a metal plated chess piece which had a bat symbol inside a yellow oval on it Batman wore metallic gloves and the suit was all Metallica from the waist down he was able to control the Batmobile from the suit itself it could withstand heavy damage and physical attack from the predator in the end Batman was able to wound and defeat the Predator with the help of this suit John Paul Valley's AZ batsuit 1993-1994 when Bane broke Bruce Wayne's back and rendered him paraplegic from West down during the Nightfall Arc he approached Jean-Paul Valley AKA Azrael to take up the mantle of the bat John Paul accepted the offer and became the new Batman of Gotham while Bruce searched for a cure during Nightfall who rules the night Arc John Paul first upgraded the gloves into the shape of sharp claws so that he was able to cling onto every surface then he slowly added onto the suit completely changing it to fight Bane he added gauntless to the gloves which shot grappling ropes across large distances he built a new Cape that helped him swerve in mid-air and changed Direction while gliding he donned golden armor on his shoulder much like the original Azrael suit the shoulder blades were raised and hardened he wore a full face reinforced cowl with red eyes he was able to beat up Bane badly while wearing this suit and left him to be picked up by gcpd but slowly he became violent as his brainwashing program for Azrael kicked in over the course of his crime fighting during night's Quest The Crusade Arc he added 2 000 bat shurikings to his suit the shuriken magazines originated from behind his shoulder blades and were fitted to his glove the gauntlets had an inbuilt laser target system helping Jean-Paul to throw automated rounds of shurikens at his adversaries he redesigned his cape into a Sharp's blind design that were individual pieces attached to his suit he wore a helmet in place of a cow it had a red visor and a huge neck Jeff Lowe with art by Tim sale Tim sale's signature way of drawing the bat suit was very unique to his style which he held on to in every story that he drew in and out of main Batman continuity the cataclysm in 1998 where Gotham was demolished in a 7.6 earthquake and the bat family tried to save Gotham and his people here Batman wore the black bat suit with blue highlights from the contagion Arc during the follow-up to cataclysm the Aftershock and the Batman road to No Man's Land Arc starting in 1999 Batman continued wearing the black batsuit then from 1999 to 2000 The Saga titled Batman nomad's land ran to all Batman titles where Gotham was declared in no man's land and was written with crime and the bat family was trying to help people survive in this year Arc Batman's costume enhanced strength and speed and shielding him partially from bizarro's attacks despite this Bizarro still inflicted significant damage causing Batman to gasp for air until Wonder Woman intervened and removed the armor the armor was also equipped with various gadgets such as titanium electrified net miniature grenades and solar lasers mounted on the gloves to increase the force of Batman's attacks although these gadgets were not enough to defeat Bizarro they did manage to divert his attention until Superman arrived on the scene Batman's under the Red Hood batsuit 2005. in the Batman under the Red Hood Arc the original Jason Todd came back from the dead by the effects of superboy's reality punching he came back to wreak havoc on Gotham and teach Batman a lesson in the sack drawn by multiple batarangs and other weapons Justice thanagarian armor 2005-2007 Justice is a 12 issue miniseries written by Alex Ross and Jim Krueger and drawn by Alex Ross in this art we get to see Batman Donna red and black shiny Thunder Gary and armor although the armor was capable of withstanding punches from Superman its primary purpose was to engage in combat with the toughest super villains in the world many of whom appeared in the Justice miniseries the Justice armor was outfitted with wings and a propulsion system that enabled Batman to fly putting him on equal footing with the rest of the Justice League the main Jewel of this armor was actually his face covered helmet which protected Batman from the mind-controlling powers of Brainiac the Green Lantern batsuit 2006 in the issue Green Lantern number nine in 2006 after Hal Jordan came back from the dead he lent Batman his Green Lantern ring so that he could use it to channel his willpower and overcome his greatest fear it was the fear of losing his parents the fear of not being able to help the needy the fear of not being capable enough the fear of not protecting an innocent child from a fate such as his when Batman wore the ring his Bat Suit immediately changed into an amalgam of his costume and the Green Lantern suit he projected his bat symbol on the chest with the green aura and also projected multiple bats with solid green light however when he conjured his parents he realized that he was not ready and gave the ring back to Jordan the Sinestro Corman batsuit 2007 during the Sinestro core War storyline Sinestro sent out yellow power rings to the entire universe to choose his Champions one ring latched onto Batman as he had the ability to instill great fear for an instant the batsu turned into an amalgamation of Sinestro core and the back costume however Batman denied it and went away to get another host of Sorrows 2008 this suit debuted in Detective Comics issue number 838 written by Paul deeney and drawn by Ryan Benjamin Talia al Ghul the daughter of the notorious villain Ras Al Ghul gifted the suit of Sorrows to Batman this suit was crafted during the Crusades in 1190 and its first wearer was driven insane causing him to mercilessly kill hundreds of individuals despite this dark History Batman was not affected by it it was crafted from The Blaze and breastplates of deceased members of the order of Purity a breakaway faction of the Order of Saint Dumas the suit of Sorrows bestowed upon Batman increased strength and speed but also heightened his aggression After experiencing its negative effects Batman made the decision to discontinue its use but couldn't bring himself to dispose of it instead storing it in the bat cave the suit was later stolen and utilized by the new Azrael of the order of purity the Black Lantern batsuit 2009 the clone of Batman that was buried in his batsuit at the end of final crisis which everyone thought was the real Bruce Wayne came back as a deadite in the Blackest Night Arc here Batman wore his last costume that he wore in final crisis however it had a Black Lantern symbol on the bat Insignia the boots had blades too his connection to the Black Lantern ring was later broken dick Grayson's bat suit 2009-2011 when Batman was sent to the Omega sanction by Darkseid Dick Grayson took over the mantle in the Batman and Robin run Dick Grayson brought back the black and gray batsuit with the strongman trunks he upgraded upon Bruce's last bat suit and created this suit for himself the symbol was placed on the chest and wasn't contained had a gold bat Insignia on the chest and had gloves fitted with gauntless he wore a big gold waistband his Bat Suit didn't have any special Advantage as he was himself a God and had super powers Batman Nosferatu 1999 this elseworld story was written by jean-marc lafisier and Randy lafisier and drawn by Ted McKeever this was an attempt in the steampunk genre and was presented in the lieu of classic movies like Metropolis the captain of Dr Caligari and Nosferatu a symphony of horror in this version brus weinson found ancient conscious computers in the great pit of the underworld that have Bruce's anger issue and he was sent to military school in Russia Bruce came back to Gotham and became Batman the bat suit was similar to the 2022 Batman movie one of whose writers was also Tomlin it was a hybrid between a tactical and a heavy fabric it was black and gray and armor padded all over but didn't do good in gunfire or Knife Fight The Carol looked reinforced but couldn't save Batman from blunt trauma to the Head the utility belt was black and had big pouches where Batman kept his Bat shurikens that he threw to stun his adversaries the cape didn't have any gliding capability however Batman could throw a bat rope that could hook onto any surface on one side and could be attached to his utility belt on the other side that could help him Ascend or descend Batman Beyond The White Knight 2022 the main suit this story is the sequel to Batman curse of the White Knight and was written and drawn by Sean Murphy the main batsuit made its debut in issue number three of this story after seizing control of the Wayne Enterprise Derek Powers manipulated Terry McGinnis into stealing the Beyond suit this prompted Bruce to escape from prison and adopt a new suit in order to assist in Terry's capture Bruce made this prototype before the Beyond suit the suit is black and purple it was a bodysuit and had a jacket over it that looked like a cape the jacket had a hood that could be pulled over the head there was no mask on the face just two Herring Tech pads and small ears originating from it the utility belt was yellow with pouches and had a bat robe the suit had the capability to ditch all cameras around the city and enhanced his strength in combat Batman Beyond The White Knight 2022 the Beyond suit we see a new version of the Batman Beyond suit in the Murphy verse in Beyond The White Knight number three Terry McGinnis wore it in this story it had the exact design as the Batman Beyond suit from the animation with the artist freedom to give it a few tweaks like red bars on the latissimus area and the hands it also had more details and added blades to the ankles and the spine behind the neck it had jet packs and wings that helped Terry fly the fingers had claws with Terry to hang on to any surface it had inbuilt comms and had all their advantages of the original suit from the Animated Series once he wore the suit Terry gained super speed and super strength and used it to beat the bejesus out of Duke and Bruce this suit was deemed so dangerous that even Bruce was afraid to wear it Dark Knights of Steel 2021 this medieval batsuit debuted in Dark Knights of Steel issue number one in November 2021 and was created by Tom Taylor and Yasmin putry Prince Bruce was the bastard son of jorel and queen Martha who was King Thomas's wife Bruce came to
