I feel like you got John Riggs here and you ever drop one of these on your foot the Nintendo 64 was such a jump from the Super Nintendo and it made all kinds of people brand new gamers kind of all over again too many of the Nintendo 64 was there system much like the NES was mine back in the day that's what I grew up with it taught us new terms like anti-aliasing and so much more minigames substituted pixels for polygons and that was kind of the core of the Nintendo 64 that way you could get 3d platformers 3d action games and a whole lot more and there's so many games out there it has almost a cult following I mean there's games like mischief-makers which are absolutely fantastic it proves that you can still do pixels on a polygon based system and it does it very very well and then there are some other games that seem to be the butt of a lot of jokes even though the games are actually pretty good now this is my launch 64 I've had this since day one and even though it's very abused and very used it's a beast Mario 64 Super Smash Brothers f-zero X you've already played all these I'm showing off 17 games that you may have missed out on some of these games I truly believe I'm the only one of the world who actually likes them to capture footage for this video I'm using the super 64 eon Nintendo 64 adapter it's plug-and-play as well as the retro bit tribute controller because this holds in my hand a lot easier than the first party controller both of these are available at castlemania games.com I'll leave a link in the description below if you're interested up first is a game called gamez great adventure I was such a huge fan of legend of the mystical ninja for the Super Nintendo it's one of my favorite games and this is the version that I wanted first now before this game came out there was a nother mystical ninja type game but this is the one that I think is worth playing there's a little 3d element as well and you have your map screen to tell you where to go the action part of the game is that 2d platformer style that I absolutely love you whack the enemies with your big old pipe you collect these coins now these coins you can use to buy stuff in the town but you can also use as a weapon to throw so you can't throw too many of them because then you'll run out of money yeah I'd be like checking quarters at someone you know you do get power-ups along the way to make your pipe stronger and whatnot even have little animals you can ride to other creative ways to crush your enemies hey these guys look kind of familiar right I think I've seen these guys before yeah now since the games made with polygons when you go back into the town that's when it turns 3d again you can go inside get tips buy items discover new places yeah of the two mythical ninja games I think goemon screen adventure is the one to play for sure and not that mystical ninja starring Goemon is a bad game it just wasn't quite what I was expecting I mean maybe I was still stuck in my 2d ways that when I saw this I was like oh man this is great this is beautiful I don't know what I'm doing I don't know where I'm going it still looked fun at least this one this first one this mystical ninja starring Goemon is much easier to find and I still wouldn't not grab it if you find one for a good price I'll go ahead and pick it up but still the other one that's the one you want to look out for Iggy's wrecking balls maybe one of those titles where the title has more attitude than the game itself but still can be quite a fun game especially as a party game one of the beautiful things about the 64 is a head for controller ports there's a lot of for player games perfect for couch colapse it's kind of like a 2d racing game but it goes into those 3d elements but still I mean 2d it's like you're rolling all over the place you've got to do these laughs and get to the finish line but by doing so you can you know crash into your enemies if you're on the same playing field or you can you know grab things from underneath I did love the visuals back in the day and it still looks pretty neat today I think so yeah you can use wrecking balls is fun to have in your collection something different anyway now of all the 3d platformers out there why am I talking about Blues Brothers 2000 that means seriously why am I talking about Blues Brothers 2000 the answer is I think it's a fun game it's one of those games that doesn't get enough love it's not like I've played it a ton I mean of course I had Mario 64 I had other platformers back then too but this is again one of those games that it just plays like a decent 3d platformer and 3d platformers on the 64 were kind of rough because a lot of games had you know maybe the game was good but the cameras didn't control the way you wanted them to I thought this was fine leave my Blues Brothers 2000 alone it's fine oh 3 DL on a 64 you know what the armymen games aren't bad I mean you might look at the label and you think they're made for kids no they're actually pretty decent and they made three of them this is armyman air combat this one you control a helicopter but you have to do these missions yeah attack the enemies on the ground Green is always you and then 10 is always the bad guy that's the thing with the armyman games and this one you just gotta shoot the bad guy you can actually pick up items with your rope that's how you grab your power-ups you can also grab these rocks and drop them on your enemies that's pretty cool but there are different missions for different levels you just have to figure out what you're doing and go from there and get through the level as fast as you can without dying I mean that's kinda the point of every video game I think at the end of the day I mean the fun thing with these armyman games is it takes place as you're the little armyman toys so you know everything's like you know Honey I Shrunk the Kids style and then armaments are just heroes is your traditional Ahriman style game you know yours actually running around in an army type mode now don't worry your toys so it's not like anyone's dying you're just falling over I guess in a very dramatic way now these admittedly could be a lot better if the Nintendo 64 had a better control schematic but you know for what it was for its time it was easy to figure out I mean I like the fact that you could you know go into that first-person mode and aim just to you know pick them off one by one if you could again I mean the argument games aren't terribly bad armaments are just heroes - maybe a better game and I think this one's a better game than the first one you know they tighten the graphics a little bit they tighten the controls a little bit so I get like I said both of them are just fun to play they're just fun and that's nothing the other day that's all you want for your Nintendo 64 it's just fun I voted back to my generation they even made a few updates to games like space invaders you have space invaders one of my favorite games of all time I don't know if I need to tell you about space invaders you're down there you gotta shoot the enemies that are above and they just kind of move back and forth when they hit one side then they drop down a level go to the other side drop down a level they come all the way down game over for you this one has a few updates though where if you get a chain combination of the same color of chips that you're killing then you'll get these power-ups that you can use to it's like a different type style of bomb maybe like your shot will go all the way through and pierce through everyone or maybe it'll hit someone and then the shrapnel will hit the enemies around them something like just what that makes it you know what more of an update and then you know different formations of the enemies too so space invaders I was actually very very surprised with how much I love this game in how much I played this game feel even asteroids got an update with asteroids hyper I mean the classic asteroids you just hit the big asteroids and then they shatter and become multiple asteroids and just gotta pick those off to you fly around in your single screen you go through one side you'll come through the other so there's that and you have your shield and you can flip around on a dime and stuff like that too so I mean asteroids you know asteroids for the 64 game bed now knife-edge is one of those games I never hear anybody talking about and I want to give some love to knife-edge nose gunner because I think it's fun it's a rail shooter I mean it's your flying around whatever you're seeing but you control the turret and you're shooting the enemies as you were this game could have been a game for the Sega CD in a way in fact there are several Sega CD games that play a lot like this maybe that's the reason I like this game so much because I loved the Sega CD but knife-edge I think it's pretty neat and I think it's worth checking out I'm a fan of it like these big bosses - they got a fight and even though it's an on-rails shooter because the game is polygons you can kind of kind of maneuver a little bit to the left or right or up or down to still dodge these shots that are coming at you stuff like that so yeah knife-edge knows Gunners is one of those games I never see love for it so I'm gonna be the one to here to show it some love man let's make it happen star soldier of vanishing worth it plays like a great shooter that happens to be built in polygons and it's not really a new concept during this time I mean there's a lot of games that were like this like this let's say the PlayStation 1 stuff like that but I mean this was cool to have on a Nintendo 64 system so happy to see a star soldier game coming to this star soldier is huge in Japan and we have a few in America but not nearly as many so glad we got this one for the 64 now what can I tell you about body harvests that you may or may not had already known about it's another one of those games I try to play it recently even if I mean I in this video I try playing it for the first time and I haven't played this game in years and because I'm still used to new controller methods it's a little hard for me to control so that's one you got to keep in mind but the love I had for this game is enormous was enormous I mean still is I just got to force myself to get used to the controls again so in body harvest you're just shoot not these giant bug alien things but I just loved how it looked it was like kind of the buildings were sporadic but you could go inside the buildings too and grab the items that you needed and talk to people to move on to the next area I mean you feel like you're almost like a toy walking around of this giant land but I have a lot of love for body harvest there's plenty to live like in a game like this the killing the aliens part wasn't the fun part for me the fun part for me was just exploring and like I said going inside these buildings when you can and stuff like that but I have a lot of love for body harvest so sharing some love to it for sure oh we got buck bumble which could have the greatest themed sign to any side to feature any title screen I could neither confirm nor deny singing the song during karaoke night at the Missouri game con along with Kelsey and Cody and my friend Martin and others in the same room they never happened you can't prove it seriously though super super super awesome game because you play as a bumblebee right but in doing so you could fly around so you can see that chance to fly around in 3d polygons you know the idea that you can just fly around in this atmosphere to me was like you know and this is this is perfect this is this is futuristic video gaming I can go anywhere I mean there is a game involved in this too of course there is you got to fight off the enemies you can pick up your items but it's I love the fact that you can just kind of fly anywhere and do whatever you know I just I just loved it buck bumble get it another absolutely fantastic platformer that not a lot of people are talking about is chameleon twist it's get to choose your character - beginning of the game and the gimmick behind this game is you have your gigantic time that you can use to pull yourself across platforms and you just repeat enemies you can actually look up several enemies at once pull them all your mouth and then you shoot them out at your enemy and that's kind of your weapon in a way it has you're very cool 3d platformer elements you gotta have that and you know any 3d platformer of course but seriously though I mean the fun part for me was like trying to how many enemies can I lick up all at once then just kind of shoot them out all at once - I think a million twists is fantastic if you love that there's chameleon twist 2 which admittedly I think is probably a better game love the colors and those one love the style but gives you that same kind of element where you have your tongue to use to you know get through levels or used to even you know jump higher if needed you don't have to play one without playing the other so if you have to pick up one of them I'd say grab chameleon twist to what you could but you can grab them both I mean nothing wrong with that either and we have blast core gotta talk about blast car if I'm talking about Nintendo 64 games I'm talking about blast core come on we have to we have to well I do I'm only talking about it because I was talking to someone else about Nintendo 64 games this was a game that they didn't get a chance to play so my god dude you gotta check it out at least it's a game where you just drive around and destroy everything now if I mean different levels have different missions this first one here that you're seeing is you just have to clear a path where this giant explosive truck is going if it runs it any one of these walls everything blows up and that's beam over for you but there's other cool levels later on to break and players like this kind of you know futuristic guy in a suit crushing these enemies where this would make your game of rampage a lot easier right different vehicles later on a game to they can use it's always fun some levels have the element where you're crushing everything in the game but you can also get out of your car or get out of your vehicle and then go inside something else to crush more things oh it's absolutely fantastic you have to get I mean if you like blown stuff up perfect a stress reducer in the game of blast score I've recommended and what Nintendo 64 games I missing a lot makes you comment down below you check out this playlist of other must play games for other systems in tendo genesis arcade turbo graphics 16 and a whole lot more always being added to this list and thanks to Castlevania games for providing these for the purpose of this video I thank you for watching and I'll see you very very soon
