We’re in the Mile High City. Hi, there! My name is Abigail, and I'm a Denver
local who’s proud to live in the Mile High City. In this video I’m going to overview 14 things
I think you should do when you visit Denver. This video is going to be quick though,
so I only have time for 14 things. However, if you head over to TravelLemming.com,
we have a blog post that goes over 45 more things that we think you should do.
Be sure to watch until the end of the video, as I'm going to go over my
favorite Denver neighborhood. First up, Larimer Square.
Easily one of the coolest blocks in town. It's located in the LoDo or
Lower Downtown neighborhood On Larimer Street between 14th and 15th
You can browse some of the city's best boutiques and dine at some
of the best restaurants. A couple noteworthy stops include the
Green Russel, a Denver speakeasy and favorite nightlife attraction there
As well as the Drunken Bakery It's kind of unique. Has the ceiling
and floor flipped upside down A half mile northwest of Larimer
Square lies Union Station It was once an important stop
for supply shipments heading West But now this renovated train station is a
cultural center in the heart of downtown. You can enjoy food here, as well as
cocktails and even a game of shuffleboard. You'll also find The Crawford hotel, one
of the most popular hotels in Denver. Dairy Block is right around
the corner from Union Station. Here you'll find Denver Milk Market, the key
establishment in this cosmopolitan micro district. Inside you'll find 16 different eateries,
including Kachina Cantina, my personal favorite As you kind of wander through
that European like block you're also going to discover
tons of Instagram-worthy sites These include wine bars, boutiques, art galleries
as well as The Maven, another top Denver hotel. If you're visiting Denver anytime
between April through October, be sure to grab tickets to see
the Colorado Rockies! Coors Field truly is a
favorite among Denver locals There is a section of
bleachers behind center field called The Rockpile. It's where I like to sit.
It offers super affordable tickets. Like truly $7 a piece.
Even if you're not a baseball fan, come for the beer
and the incredible skyline views. If you find this video to be helpful so
far, please hit the thumbs up button. That one click really helps us out and allows you
to see similar content to help you plan your trip. Let's continue on to 16th Street Mall,
another major attraction in downtown Denver. Along this 1.25 mile stretch, you'll
discover hundreds of shops and restaurants. The Denver Pavilions also houses
a movie theatre and bowling alley. If you get tired of walking,
you can catch the free Mall Ride bus all the way to Civic Center Park.
Next on our list is a stop at the Colorado State Capitol Building.
It's hard to miss the golden dome of this historic icon.
But not everyone realizes that on the 15th step there's engraved text reading
"One Mile Above Sea Level" Hence "Mile High City."
Here's a little secret ... Per more recent surveys, the one mile marker
is actually on the 13th step. But, regardless, it's a
must-see Denver attraction. Less than a half mile southwest
of the Capitol Building you'll find the Denver Art Museum.
It's hard to miss with its futuristic angular structure
as well as the large sculptures outside. Inside you'll find several stories of
both modern and classic works of art from all around the world.
Exhibits are often rotating so every visit is a unique experience.

attraction located just east of Cheeseman Park. Here you can explore 23
acres of lush botanic gardens featuring plant life from all around the globe.
There's also a public amphitheater which hosts the popular summer concert series.
If you love live music, keep watching because in just a moment I'm going to tell
you about my favorite Denver concert venue. Next, let me know you a little bit about RINO.
RINO is short for "River North Art District" and, honestly, it's my favorite Denver neighborhood.
Street art is everywhere. Namely, be sure to check out the
alley behind Denver Central Market. It really is one of the coolest blocks.
What used to be industrial warehouses here in RiNo have now been converted into trendy
restaurants, pumping bars, and boutiques ranging from luxury to vintage clothing.
The Source Hotel is also located in RiNo. And inside you'll find ...
New Belgium, one of my favorite breweries. I love craft beer and there is very few scenes
like the craft beer scene here in Denver. In RiNo specifically, you're gonna find lots
of breweries including Epic, Great Divide, Our Mutual Friend and so many more.
Be sure to take a Denver beer tour while you're here.
Last but not least, Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Many would agree that this is the most
spectacular music venue in the country. The amphitheatre holds nearly 10,000 people
and offers incredible views of the Front Range. My first Red Rocks show
was String Cheese Incident. To all you jam band fans out there, cheers!
Musicians of all genres, though, perform at this venue, including famous comedians.
They even host events including Film on the Rocks and Sunrise Yoga on the Rocks.
Even if you can't make an event though while you are visiting Denver, I highly recommend
checking out this Morrison attraction. Be sure to bring your camera.
