hey everyone welcome back to our reoccurring Series where we take a look at what are some of the new games coming out this month this one for the month of February 2024 so what new games are worth keeping an eye on well let's take a look kicking things off this month is Hell divers 2 and online tactical shooter that has you fighting your way through hordes and hordes of alien enemies with a large assortment of over-the-top weapons and artillery while trying to complete various objectives the game has a big emphasis on co-op gameplay strategy and team work well kind of as half the fun of the original game was accidentally killing your teammates as you called in supplies that rain from the sky it appears like they are keeping those crazy Shenanigans along with the campy narrative and core structure of the first game but changing its perspective as hell divers 2 is an over-the-top third person shooter while its 2015 predecessor was a top- down isometric game in Hell divers 2 we take on the role of Hell divers these are expendable elite soldiers sent to far away planets to combat combat Alien Invaders and other threats looming over Humanity some of the key features of the game include you'll be starting out by assembling squads of up to four hell divers and then selecting from an assortment of strategic missions on various planets with different objectives and levels of difficulty once you select and land on a designated Planet you'll then have one or more task to complete which you'll move towards as a team however while in route everything on every single one of those planets absolutely wants you dead you will be constantly bombarded by waves and waves of all sorts of enemies each type with distinct and unpredictable characteristics tactics and behaviors which you'll learn to counter with strategic play but also your weapon choice there's a variety of weapons and tools that can be selected from before going out on missions and you'll use the knowledge of what the mission contains to decide what to bring with you players will be encouraged to use weapons that are effective against certain enemy types and Mission designs like you'll want anti-armour shells against armored aliens or flame weapons against biological ones besides the the guns you use another core tool for the player are these items called Strat gems these are like special items and abilities both offensive and defensive in nature that can be called in with these specific button combinations to help your team during a fight many times these will fall from the sky after a short duration and since Friendly Fire is a unfortunate side effect of the realities of War yes you'll accidentally kill your teammates on many occasions there's a count wide progression in the game as you play and earn reputation and experience for super Earth in turn you'll be awarded with all sorts of powerful advantages and unlocks and Hell divers 2 also features a high degree of character customization for the player allowing for various cosmetic changes to your avatar now I got to say I thought the original was a superb game it was tons of fun for this mission-based horde style mode I really enjoyed playing it with friends and I am going to be interested to see how this formula holds up with this brand new camera perspective I don't foresee it being an issue but it's certainly going to be quite different from the top down sort of twin joystick shooter being a now third person shooter I am quite hopeful though hell divers 2 will be launching on February 8th coming to the PC and PlayStation and before we continue with this month's list let's get a quick word from today's sponsor today's video is sponsored by Persona 3 reload the reimagining of a pivotal game in the Persona series rebuilt with updated Graphics quality of life features and a stylish UI Persona 3 reload takes place in an alternate universe within the modern day creating a recognizable and relatable but also an unnerving experience the game features a Str combat system you'll engage in turn-based battles against menacing enemies harnessing the strengths of your persona to unleash combos exploit vulnerabilities and strategize your party's actions for victory the game also offers a combined role playing and visual novel experience as you not only engage in battle but also Forge deep social connections and unravel a gripping storyline which includes new scenes character interactions and additional voiceovers and they say you do not need to have played the previous Persona titles to enjoy Persona 3 reload as the story itself self is self-contained Persona 3 reload Launches on February 2nd it's available for the Xbox series X and S Xbox One windows steam PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 with pre-orders available now check out the link in the description below to learn more all right continuing with this month's list we have got last EPO an upcoming action RPG that has been in development since August 2018 the game entered steam Early Access in 2019 and is now finally getting its 1.0 patch and full release later in the month now besides being a top down arpg in the vein of Diablo or Path of Exile last epoc also combines time travel challenging dungeon crawling and deep character customization that is set to provide endless replayability for both veterans and newcomers alike now to put it comparatively I have heard the last Epoch basically splits the difference between Diablo's Simplicity and path of exile's complexity some key features include 15 Mastery classes branching out from the core five base classes you'll Ascend into these unique unque masteries with more specialized abilities and build options there are over 100 skill trees in the game so every skill basically has its own augment tree that allows you to control alter and Empower your play style doing things like transforming skeletons into archers your lightning blast into a chain lightning or your serpent strike into a summon snake ability going on and on and on you'll be hunting for rare and Powerful loot of course this is an arpg so you'll fill Your Arsenal with magic items that you can customize via crafting and using various unique and set items you'll be able to not only change your skills but also how the core of one of your builds functions it's got a crafting system that allows you to control your character's power progression featuring robust and deterministic upgrade mechanics where you get to pick exactly what sort of upgrade you want to suit your build there's tons of content in the game between all the various options for classes and skill customization various deep game systems randomized Loot and continuous development which has proven to be quite substantial throughout just the Early Access period and they've said that this is easy to learn and hard to master with the devs stating that they are committed to making gameplay approachable for new players and Veterans alike allowing you to jump into The Fray quickly while also providing many in-game resources and their final bullet point here is that the game has zero pay to win last Epoch doesn't and they say will never offer gameplay advantages by spending real money so over the years of being in Early Access I've heard many good things about this game and as we grow nearer and nearer to official release the volume of people singing its Praises seems to get louder and louder it does appear like this is going to be a solid option for fans of ARP GS who maybe are disappointed in Diablo I or no longer want to play Path of Exile or even if neither of those things are the case if you're just looking for a new arpg that you haven't played before looks like this might be a good one last EPO will be officially launching for PC on February 21st Nightingale is a shared World Multiplayer Survival crafting game set in what the developers have called a gas lamp fantasy world which is a combination of Victorian and steampunk with fairy tales and fantasy nting Gale has all of the fundamental systems that you expect from survival you'll be exploring Gathering materials Base building crafting items tools and weapons and you'll use this to make better stuff take on various PVE threats with all sorts of enemies and bosses while equipping yourself to Adventure out into more dangerous deadly and rewarding areas outside of that General survival structure some of the more unique features of night and Gale include the Realms this NeverEnding series of locations with the expected variety of biomes Forest swamps mountains deserts and jungles each with their own and not only distinct visual appearance and unique points of interest but also plant and animal life NPC factions and dangerous enemies unique to the areas you'll travel between the Realms using portals which take these special realm cards to activate and depending on the cards that you use you're able to select certain parameters including what a realm's enemies biomes weather or harvestable resources will have it's sort of like spinning up various world seeds where you select from the things you want or need in those Worlds the setting in enemies are also another big standout for me as nighting Gale is inhabited by this wide range of Victorian folklore inspired creatures like harpies and bander snatch Hill Giants trees that come to life mischievous Fay and a predominant faction known as the bound this group of rival humanoids that come in a variety of class types and sort of act as a constant threat throughout the game frequently attacking you and your now from what we've seen and heard the basic Loop of this game will be the typical gather craft and fight while exploring to discover character upgrades and unlock new realm cards and then using the cards you find you will open portals to progress to new deadlier and more rewarding Realms and then you repeat that process of gathering crafting fighting getting upgrades going to new Realms and ultimately trying to get to this fabled city known as Nightingale although we haven't seen much of it yet we have heard that there will be some Pinnacle cont content and challenges to work towards like a variety of special boss fights we also know that they have plans for challenging and repeatable endgame content and a few varieties we're just unsure of exactly what and of course there's going to be stuff like unique and Powerful gear along with character upgrades few to work towards Base building will also play a pretty big role with what they've said to be a lot of variety customization as well I've been keeping a pretty close eye on nighting Gale I am looking forward to giving it a go uh there is suddenly it seems to be just a Del huge of survival games coming out between the recently released pal world and enshrouded and now we've got nighting Gale pretty good eating for fans of the genre nting Gale will be launching into steam Early Access on February 22nd I also want to mention that there will be a stress test for this game it's happening later this week on Friday February 2nd but it only lasts for 3 hours from 11:00 a.m. mountain time to 2:00 p.m. mountain time so it's a small window but if you're available in that frame this would give you an opportunity to get an early Hands-On with the game speaking of survival games sons of the forest is an open world survival crafting game with a fairly unique Twist of it's also a horror game you are sent to find a missing billionaire on a remote island but in doing so you find yourself in a cannibal infested hellscape so the game actually entered steam Early Access nearly 1 year ago I played a lot of it and I mostly enjoyed it I thought the base building was simple not overly complex but also quite satisfying like the process of plopping down logs and forming a building a fence ramps whatever it all felt great it felt really good to build a base I liked that it was actually a horror game it had really creepy enemy design and a ton of unsettling scenes but mostly The Sounds in this game were downright terrifying at times very very good audio and the combat sort of like the building was simple but seemed to be well done attacking mostly felt good it's basically a bit of a dance with enemies as you dodge their attacks try to get good positioning and then Counterattack I thought the world was fun to explore going about finding new camps uncovering some of the narrative searching through caves and looting there was a lot of self-discovery and environmental storytelling and I liked that it was a living world with the changing seasons although that said while there was a lot I enjoyed there were also quite a few pain points and issues that we saw tons of bugs in particular you saw lots of enemies glitching through things and getting stuck the campaign was really short All Things Considered I thought the crafting could use more flushing out it the game didn't seem to have much replayability it really seemed like one playthrough was enough there wasn't much to do a second time around for a survival crafting game having a base kind of seemed pointless because your backpack was massive and when you died you didn't lose anything essentially you could just do everything on the go there wasn't much of a reason to have a base the map also seemed way too big with very few points of interest in between just a lot of filler space that was just kind of boring to Traverse enemy variety was pretty shallow I thought the game could use a few more combat mechanics like a Dodge for example and even the hardest mod mode and the hardest version of the game seemed a bit too easy so like I said we played quite a bit when it released in Early Access and while I generally had a good time I felt that it needed uh some things needed to be addressed and improved well since entering Early Access the game has received several major patches and they do appear to have added quite a lot to it in fact in total since coming into Early Access they have released 14 full patches over this past year and it seems like the game is Just much more complete and in a much more polished state in fact at the moment it has got a very positive user score on Steam which is a good sign sons of the forest will be leaving early access with its full 1.0 release on February 22nd Final Fantasy 7 rebirth is the second in a planned Trilogy of games remaking the 1997 original it begins after the events of the Final Fantasy 7 remake from 2020 following the party's escape from the Metropolis of midgar leading them into this vast open world so yes this is set immediately after the events of remake players will be controlling the mercenary clout strife and a party full of characters who band together and embark on a journey across the planet to prevent the mega cooperation Shinra from exploiting its life Essence the life stream and defeating the former elite soldier searo who intends on uniting the planet to achieve greater power rebirth will be building on the hybrid of action Focus melee combat and the active Time battle system introduced in the first remake this has players assuming control of a party composed of characters that can be freely Switched at any point during Combat Characters will use a mix of conventional physical attacks cast magic and consume helpful items there's also this new Synergy system integrated into rebirth combat enabling party members to sync up their attacks for power at the expense of speed as with the original Final Fantasy 7 besides the playing through the game's narrative and engaging with combat there will be many different mini games for you to play like this full card game called Queen's blood Chocobo taming and customization the gbike fighting simulator there's a boxing simulator plus many more unannounced games that are said to Total more than what the original game had Final Fantasy 7 rebirth is releasing on February 29th coming to PS5 okay so that is the core main list but I do want to go into the various honorable mentions and there are quite a few of these this month starting things off is kill the Justice League from the creators of the Batman Arkham Series this is a new third person action shooter set in an open world based Metropolis the game will feature four playable characters Captain Boomerang Deadshot Harley quinnn and King shark it can be played solo but also features four-player Cooperative multiplayer players will be free to experiment with a variety of different play styles with each character having access to two weapons along with its own skill treat progressing allowing you to spec into different builds each Squad member also brings their own traversal mechanics to navigate the sprawling City combining free roaming exploration and combat verticality there are six different types of weapons in the game assault rifles pistols SMG snipers shotguns and heavy weapons in addition to different perks the weapons also have unique properties depend depending on their manufacturer and you'll be using all of this while engaging in combat and going through the expected Fair of open world live service activities because yes this is an open world live service game they have said that postlaunch players can expect a continuously evolving Metropolis with new playable villains environments weapons in-game events and more all included with the base purchase of the game and it will be getting those updates um if it maintains to have a player base and that is seems to be a bit of an if at the moment because previews of kill the Justice League have been fairly mixed I think especially the live service part has people a bit up in arms I am keeping my expectations in check not holding my breath on this one but as always hoping for the best kill the Justice League Launches on February 2nd coming to PC PlayStation and Xbox foam stars is a new four verse4 online party shooter think Splatoon but for PlayStation you'll use foam to build terrain create slippery surfaces to Surf around the arena high speed and help defend from enemy attacks or create Vantage points to take out opponents the game will feature eight unique characters each with their own specialized foam gun and set of skills which you will use while competing in three different game modes uh this is just like a fun little Co-op party game I guess competitive as well not particularly my cup of tea but I'm I'm sure a lot of people are going to be interested in it especially if you have a PlayStation console foam Stars Launches on February 6th coming to the PS4 and PS5 next up is banisher Ghost of new Eden this is a single player story driven action RPG where you play as a pair of bishers these experienced Spirit Hunters entrusted with the daunting task of dispelling my lent curse through powerful rituals this is a narrative driven game as you play through and experience what they are calling a heart-wrenching love story when your partner is killed and turned into a spirit you find yourself facing a choice to either uphold your oath and Ascend her soul or sacrifice the living in hopes of bringing her back of course you're sacrificing the living what else would you do beyond the story bishers does feature an action combat system you'll fight back Undead creatures specters and ghost by combining Red's physical Arsenal with Ana's Supernatural powers in Dynamic combat mixing weapon attacks spiritual abilities and creating powerful synergies there is even progression as well you'll unlock new gear and supernatural abilities like you'll find ancient artifacts Trinkets and valuable resources that enhance your equipment in addition to progressing a skill tree to upgrade your spectral Powers bisher's ghost of new Eden launch is on February 13th for PC PlayStation and Xbox Tomb Raider remastered includes all three original games along with every expansion and secret level Tomb Raider 1 and The Unfinished Business expansion Tomb Raider 2 and the gold mask expansion and Tomb Raider three and the lost artifact expansion so this is the original Tomb Raider Trilogy with all of the bells and whistles these series of games were like a combination of third person action combat and platforming but puzzle solving lots and lots of puzzle solving you spend a ton of time going around the world solving these ancient Mysteries a bit of a globe trotting Adventure they have said this is a faithful restoration you are able to experience the original polygon look at the time or you can play with a new boosted up enhanced set of graphics with higher Fidelity animations and better lighting and better textures and all of that the choice is up to you I would play with the original you just have to it's going to be nostalgic if nothing else Tomb Raider remastered Launches on February 14th coming to PC Playstation Xbox and switch uh this next game I can't believe it but after over a decade of development skull and bones is finally actually releasing the original pitch for this game was to take the naval battles of Assassin's Creed Black Flag and spin it off into its own thing originally Skull and Bones was um supposed to be a Black Flag expansion then they thought they would make an MMO spin-off under the name Black Flag infinite and then finally it turned into what we're getting today which is a naval combat game where you play as a ship fighting other ships the game has been through a very publicly documented development hell and considering what we know it's unsurprisingly had mixed reception from those who have tried all of the various builds of it while there is a Social Hub where you actually control a character and walk around to talk to different NPCs and vendors a majority of the game takes place at sea at which point you just control a ship and engage in Naval battles to fight other ships steal loot and get cargo you are able to equip a multitude of weapons such as cannons mortars Lista Torpedoes and more to try to outgun other ships there's even a thing where you attack various forts there's various ship customization where you choose not only from different weapons but also what sort of ammo do you want to use or what defenses do you want for your ship like do you want to be slow and tanky and Powerful do you want to be fast or Nimble many many combinations why are you balancing between the size of your ship your speed your maneuverability your defenses and your Firepower uh as stated this game has had quite a mixed reception from the various hands on Impressions that I've heard through these game's various iterations and phases over the years it's gone through so many changes and faced so many issues throughout its development I'm really not certain how this thing is going to turn out if anything I'm leaning towards probably not great but stay tuned and we'll find out for sure when Skull and Bones finally Launches on February 16th for PC PlayStation and Xbox Pacific Drive is a first person driving Survival game with your car as your only companion you'll navigate a surreal reimagine ation of the Pacific Northwest as you face Supernatural dangers venturing into the Olympic exclusion Zone you must outrun an encroaching storm while facing strange perils in a world that shifts with every Journey you'll scavenge resources to craft new equipment and configure your vehicle however you want experimenting with different mods and car parts as you navigate the landscape you'll have to upkeep your car making sure the gas tank is filled and your panels are intact making repairs on the Fly Scavenging materials wherever you can and adopting your rolling Fortress to tackle the many dangers that lurk in the shadows I must say a survival Rogue like where you are driving a station wagon wasn't on my bingo card for 20124 but here we are and surprisingly I've heard some pretty good things it is certainly a unique premise Pacific Drive Launches on February 22 for PC and PlayStation 5 and finally I wanted to let you know about the brothers A Tale of Two Sons remake they have said this is a faithful remake completely re encapsulating the gameplay and touching story from the original released in 2013 it does feature rebuilt characters and Landscapes based on that first game updated for the latest generation of Graphics improved performance and some fine-tuned gameplay paired with a re-recorded soundtrack and live Orchestra I have to say I absolutely loved the original I basically just wanted to let you know that they've remade the game as that's a pleasant surprise for me if you've not played it it is a very enjoyable experience albeit short a couple of hours a run time here but either Solo or with a friend I this was one of my favorite sort of small small bite games if you want to call it that Brothers A Tale of Two Sons remake will be launching on February 28th for PC PlayStation and Xbox and with that we will be wrapping up this month's list for February 2024 U my top picks for the month which is just basically the games I am anticipating and planning to play the most of it'll be hell divers 2 probably some last EPO nighting Gale and I would like to revisit sons of the forest but there you go let me know what you guys think what games are you looking forward to and why love toar hear your thoughts and Impressions also as always let me know if I happen to miss anything in the comments below
