12,000 lb ZXR Badland Winch Wiring Instructions

howdy guys I'm here with my two boys just got done installing this winch on this trailer it's a 12,000 pound badlands winch there's a little controller but the wiring instructions on this are wrong by the way I got it from Harbor Freight this is my third one the first one I got because the wiring instructions were wrong it didn't work because I had it wired wrong since these instructions are wrong and I was going by that second one I got the housing snapped I was winching something onto the trailer and the whole this thinner part of the housing just completely sheared off ripped the whole thing boom smashed it forward it bent this pole on the jack of the trailer bent this whole thing forward anyway it messed it up pretty good so I'd have been a manufacturer defect if I wasn't pulling 12 I wasn't pulling anything weighing 12,000 pounds not even close it's about 8,500 pounds but anyway let's get down to the wiring of this so in this book everything is right except for these two middle wires the two red wires are wrong the instructions have it reversed so this long wire right here is actually on the left-hand side of the red wires and that's the one that goes down to the battery so just remember this long wire is supposed to be on the left hand side it actually comes wired that way with the long wire on the right in the right spot that goes to the battery but the instructions show you to wire it wrong so just remember this one right here the second from the very left or the left red wire goes down to the battery you can see I have it running down here and then it goes into the terminal block right there well the breaker is what they call it then this other red wire goes up to the red coded color-coded terminal on the motor so everything else in the book is right as far as wiring goes so the far left black wire goes to this terminal right here on the motor towards the backside of the winch then again the second from the left or the left or right red wire the left red wire goes down to the battery the right red wire sorry the right red wire goes to the red terminal on the motor and then this far right black wire goes over to the yellow terminal on the motor and then once you've got it wired up like that you can hear it it actually functions like it should so hope this helps somebody that's how to wire up a Harbor Freight Badlands 12,000 pound winch everybody have a great day we subscribe like comment if you like and have a good one
