welcome to my off-grid Adventures I'm Frank and it's another beautiful January day here in Michigan today I thought I would reflect on the 12 best accessories that I purchased from my RV in 2023 that were under $50 each I also have a video with 10 things that I purchased that were over $50 for the RV in 2023 that I'm happy to have bought and I'll have a list of a few things that I wish I hadn't purchased for my RV in 2023 so there are three different videos that if you'd like to see them all just please click the links in the description and visit my channel I might also share a few lists about things that I purchased for my offgrid property because those are different than the things I purchased exclusively for the RB all right let's go inside and check out those accessories that have made our RB a little more enjoyable and efficient and we'll start in the kitchen let's start with the least expensive items and work our way up to the most expensive ones I discovered this sync drying rack while browsing for RV accessories on Amazon it was only $9 and I love how it expands the space you can set things in a small kitchen without losing the use of the entire sink like you do with the cover that comes standard with them the second accessory on our list is this water dispenser which was also under $10 purchased on Amazon in the winter months since we don't have water in the pipes we we just bring in one of these 4 gallon jugs and put this at the top and you just push the button and it should be and to stop it so that's just really convenient I know there are other Solutions similar to that but this one works really well for us and again just another $10 purchase all right the next $10 purchase that I'm pleased to have made for the RV this year are these magnetic door stops what I like about this is that the doors in the interior of the RV often will swing shut meaning that no heat or cool air will flow into the rest of the back of the RV so this is just a small cheap upgrade really easy to install but since there's a little bit too much space at the bottom to put a door regular door stop something like this is necessary and I'm glad that we have it number four on my list of top RV accessories purchased in 2023 is a harbor freight transfer pump that often goes on sale for just $7.99 when you need to fill your freshwater tank and you don't have access to city water it's hard to beat the Simplicity of this transfer pump it takes two batteries moves the water at a decent Pace does it quietly and the batteries last a long time I like this so much I bought a second one just in case it breaks number five was an important upgrade to the pass through door locks that came standard on my RV and many others if your key says ch751 on it the odds are someone in your RV park has the same key and they could get into your storage area this upgrade was just $15.99 and it gives me more peace of mind when it comes to the security of my tra trailer I also like the two-sided keys that came with the new set so I never have to fiddle to make sure it's the right side up because both ways work number six is this low voltage 500 watt Amazon basic space heater that I purchased for $16 even I like how these don't take a lot of energy and sometimes I just want to heat a small part of the RV without running the furnace or I want to heat up a part of the RV more quickly while the furnace is running I have a couple redundancies in place for heat including a Mr Buddy Heater as well just so that I have a smaller chance of being stuck in the cold all right we're in the second half of this list the seventh RV accessory I'm glad to have purchased in 2023 is this infrared thermometer it retails for $29.99 but I only paid $12.98 for it it's ,650 right now so it all depends on when you purchase it I like this tool because it validates the benefits of the insulation you add to your RV and it can show you where you need to add more throughout your rig I even use it to check the temperature of my water so that I know it's perfect for my coffee number eight on our list is the Camco door crossbar I paid $18.34 cents each and I bought two of them this small upgrade makes a big difference by minimizing the frustration that can come when you try to securely shut your RV doors you have more places to grab it to shut it and it gives you leverage to tightly shut the door without pulling too hard on the locks handle the ninth item in our list is a pack of three magnetic vent covers that cost a little less than $25 for the set I noticed these in a friend's RV thanks Don and quickly bought a couple of sets for mine we used these in the summer because we're not running the furnace at that time and it keeps dirt and debris from getting down into the vents it's a simple accessory but I'm glad that we have it the 10th accessory I'm glad to have purchased in 2023 is a 4x1 ft roll of reflecti insulation this was enough for all of the windows that I wanted to insulate and I even had a few feet left over this made a significant difference in heat loss and I have a separate video dedicated to installing it and running an efficiency test with that infrared thermometer I mentioned during point9 we're almost done the 11th RV accessory on this list is a memory foam bed wedge that I paid $34.49 for RV beds are notoriously short compared to standard beds and being 6' 3 in I needed more room so I added this and gained about four or 5 in which is just perfect the bed only extends out a little further than it used to and I'd rather give up that space than have a short bed the 12th and last RV accessory under $50 that I'm happy to have purchased in 2023 is the mopa pro tank check sensor slipping in under the wire at $49.99 I purchased two of these so that both 30 lb tanks are connected and I love how they give me peace of mind to know exactly how long I can go before filling up the propane tanks the Bluetooth on these works really well the battery life is excellent and the app has a really userfriendly interface I tried two other models by mopa and had problems with both so if you're considering going this direction I recommend getting this specific one the mopa pro check sensor in particular if you enjoyed this video please give it a thumbs up that really helps my channel and if you're interested in RV or off-grid content
