for all we know about ancient history there's still a lot of knowledge which we haven't yet obtained and may never obtain a lot of our ancestors took their secrets to their graves leaving us to guess at what they meant by their customs rituals and architectural works all these years later without better explanations being available some of the items you're about to see in this video are claimed to have paranormal or extraterrestrial origins some have been hidden under the ground but others hide in plain sight when practicing Muslims answer the call to prayer five times a day they're said to bow themselves if they can get close enough to it during their pilgrimage it might be all the kissing and touching that's turned it black but as taking a sample from it to find out what it's made of would be sacrilege it's impossible to know for sure many of you will be familiar with the Roswell UFO incident which was originally reported to be the crash landing of an alien spacecraft in 1947 before the part of the rock it turns one way but if you place it above the thinner end it spins in the opposite direction on the face of the rock or to Crescent Moon symbols identical to those that have been seen at the site of many crop circles all over America and Europe examination of the artifact under a microscope shows no sign of markings from the tools that were presumably used to make it if it's a forgery it's a very good one scientists will try to tell you that there's no evidence that giants ever existed on earth for every piece of compelling evidence you produce they'll find a reason to exclude or ignore it even with all their denials though there are several structures on the planet that appear to have been built by giants for the use of giants and would have very little purpose for regular-sized humans as an example take a look at these cave settlements in temples in Romania which cover an area of almost 2 square miles the region is known as Athos in the local tongue which as the slopes of the two largest pyramids in Egypt if you could travel back in time to the fourth century BCE you'd find that the kingdom of Aksum in what's now Ethiopia was one of the world's great centres of power and it remained that way until the 10th century CE II as a prime trading location between Rome and Persia it became very wealthy and wealth always attracts power during its early years it was a pagan land and had a tradition of erecting enormous pillars to honor its leaders after they passed away one of those pillars is the 80-foot high obelisk of Aksum which remained standing already considered to be an important and sacred site containing the world's largest historical monument but in 2016 scientists discovered that it was surrounded by a network of ancient cities hiding in plain sight and nobody had ever noticed them researchers scanning the area from above with laser equipment detected a series of large earthen mounds hidden beneath thick vegetation the mounds most of which took the form of domes were arranged in spiral formations when placed on a grid it's easy to see the mounds as an ancient Street pattern covering almost 800 square miles around Angkor Wat it's thought that while the temples of the camere Empire were made of solid materials and therefore stood the test of time the homes that surrounded them were made from wood and thatch and have therefore rotted away over the course of centuries now thanks to advances in technology we've found them once more what's less clear is the purpose of the strikingly precise geometrical arrangement of made of rocks that were transported from many miles away but that's not the most impressive thing to be seen here that honor goes to the ancient solar disk at the Sarma's Agata tuza regia fortress made of andesite and split into ten sectors it also features a long arrow made from 16 stone blocks and some evidence suggest that it had an astronomical purpose nothing quite like it exists at any of the other fortresses nor anywhere else in romania or even the wider world who these ancient fortress builders were and how they seemed to possess such an innate understanding of the night sky is a mystery that still eludes us while archeologists will do their best to provide us with an explanation for everything they find sometimes they have to be honest hold their hands up and admit that they haven't got a clue that's the case for this strange bird-like statue that was found in Greece it's approximately seven thousand years old and experts can't even agree on whether it's really supposed to depict a bird or whether it's a crude representation of the female form as it's so unique we have no way of knowing who was responsible for creating it although these civilizations who lived in Macedonia and Thessaly at the time are both candidates standing 14 inches tall the figure comes from the late Neolithic era and is carved out of solid granite that differs from the majority of Neolithic sculptures which were made from softer stone granite is so hard that normally steel tools would be required to make a carving like this but we know that Neolithic people didn't have any that begs the question of how this odd statue is even at all earlier on we raised the possibility that there was once a species of giants on earth if that theory is true perhaps it would explain the existence of the site of Hoonah Bedan in the netherlands you'll find the ancient stone formations in the province of Drenthe where they've been standing for more than five thousand years officially they've been accredited to the work of tribes and barbarians but no explanation has ever been given as to how such uncivilized and disorganized people could move 40 ton stones into positions like these they're the oldest monuments to be found anywhere in the Netherlands which has led some people to refer to them as Holland stonehenge which is fitting as the british site was built and around the same time based on discoveries made at the site it would seem that the funnel beaker people buried their dead here the boulders would have had to have been brought to Drenthe during the Ice Age but transporting them such a long distance is inconsistent with everything we know about the funnel beaker people so the real architects remain anonymous to unimaginative observers the grooved stones which can be found all over the island of Gotland represent nothing more than rocks upon which ancient warriors sharpened their swords but if you have a trained eye it's immediately apparent that they're much more than that they were first noticed during the 19th century and for the reasons we've already described referred to as sharpening stones that was until someone with better knowledge noticed that the grooves were far too wide for any type of sword from the Stone Age the Viking Age and the Middle Ages there's also a total lack of swords found on the island to support the theory one alternative idea is that the grooves were used to track the movements of the Sun and Moon and could therefore be interpreted as a primitive type of calendar it's certainly true that the direction of the grooves can be aligned to meet with the celestial bodies and that where the grooves have been carved into rocky outcrops they always face outward toward the sky it's just as possible that there's a totally different explanation and that were nowhere near understanding it sticking with the theme of astronomical observations it's likely that we'll never understand why a civilization as wise as the ancient Etruscans chose to take everything they knew about the Moon Sun and stars and record it on a sculpture of a sheep's liver made out of bronze this is the liver of Piacenza and it's been troubling experts and archeologists ever since it was discovered in a field in PS Enza in 1877 the Etruscans were once a native civilization in this part of Italy but they disappeared off the map when the Empire of Rome expanded and assimilated their culture because of that assimilation many of their secrets have been lost to time before the Romans came the Etruscans spoke their own language had
