all over the world there's a community of millions of people who love fast luxury cars we call them motor heads gear heads or if you live in Europe petrol heads nobody who's a member of that community would ever dream of leaving a rare or expensive car behind to rot somewhere lonely and forgotten we therefore have to apologize to every Motorhead among you for what you're about to see these are some of the most upsetting examples of expensive cars being abandoned that we've ever seen we'll start off with this Bend 1947 tatra t87 unfortunately we don't know quite how or why this rare vehicle ended up in such an unsightly condition but it turned up for sale on the Internet in early 2012 the seller was keen to assure people that despite the obvious cosmetic damage it was still fully operational albeit not with all of its original parts the faded beaten-up t87 had been fitted with a Tatro 603 engine at some point in the past 70 years and it's thought that finding an authentic original t87 engine would be a difficult undertaking that means that the $30,000 that the seller was looking for may have been a bit of a stretch production on this model of car briefly started up before the Second World War and resumed again afterward but was halted permanently in 1950 very few of them still exist in the world today the third headlight is its most obvious unique characteristic but the rear fin is quite a sight to behold - we've seen fully restored models go for more than a quarter of a million dollars so maybe the price wasn't such a bad deal after all no matter how badly it's treated or how much time passes since it was last on the roads it's almost impossible to ruin a classic Jaguar even in its rusty state there's still an air of magnificence about this 1954 Jaguar xk120 which turned up as a barn-find in March 2020 it's missing its convertible top the windshield frame is just as absent as the windshield itself is and it looks like some bad body filler work has been performed on the chassis in the past despite that it should still be worth around $25,000 to the right buyer the car comes with its original wheels but the engine is something of a mystery the numbers on the head matched those on the car but the numbers on the block don't unfortunately the ones luxurious internal furnishings have either been stripped out or rotted away possibly a consequence of being left outside in the open for so many years without the roof to protect it even as a skeleton of the car that it once was it's still a beautiful vehicle that deserves to be treated with a little more respect hopefully it gets that from its next owner it might take you a second to identify the make and model of this next car perhaps you think it's a Maserati or a Lamborghini in fact it's neither of those things what you're looking at is an ultra rare 1967 ESO grief oh the vehicle was last seen for sale long line in 2016 after almost 30 years of abandonment considering it wasn't used for such a long time and didn't receive any maintenance during those years either it's in surprisingly good condition only 413 units of this car were ever built and as a right-hand drive vehicle this particular grief Oh is one of only 34 it was last driven in 1986 and the 327 cubic inch Chevy v8 it was using at that time is still fitted and presumably still operational the fact that it was kept indoors has protected it from the worst ravages of time and so with that reserve price of only $50,000 when it went into auction we can rest assured that it'll have little difficulty finding a new home let's hope it's now out there on the road somewhere could this be the most valuable vehicle barn-find of all time we think so it's a whole collection of 60 rare cars that have been hidden away from the world for more than half a century before being discovered in 2014 in France as one auctioneer put it this was like discovering the tomb of tu t'en and for car lovers the cars were part of an estate that had been inherited by several grandchildren from their grandfather nobody in the family knew about the car collection until the grandfather passed away now it's known as the valium collection and it contains cars by Bugatti Ferrari panhard Levis or Maserati Delage a hispano-suiza and many more the star of this collection however was one of the rustiest vehicles in the whole set it's a 1949 Talbot Lago t26 Grand Sport parce oucheth if the name means nothing to you all you need to know is that it's a classic French sports car it's been customized and rebuilt by a legendary custom chassis maker it was rusty when it came out of the barn and it'll take a lot of work from an expert to get it back into roadworthy condition but that didn't stop it from being sold at auction for 1.9 million dollars [Music] having provided you with one candidate for the title of most valuable barn find of all time we're about to give you another one this one comes from Portugal where almost 200 classic cars were found in an abandoned warehouse where they've apparently been standing in darkness and silence for over 30 years the precise location of the Portuguese warehouse has been kept a secret to avoid the risk of theft or vandalism but it's thought that all of the vehicles inside it once belonged to a vintage car dealer who sadly no longer with us the dealership closed in the early 1980s and almost nobody has set foot inside its warehouse since there are too many different types of cars here to name them all but porsche mercedes opel ford fiat and every other major manufacturing name you can think of is here perhaps you can work out which cars are here from sight alone if you can let us know in the comments valuing the whole set is hard without full knowledge of what's there but it must easily be worth tens of millions of dollars in 1964 Porsche began their first series production run of the 901 the car that would eventually be renamed than 911 because of a contractual dispute with huge' the 57th such vehicle was completed in October of that year then spent a very long time parked inside a barn in Brandenburg Germany it might still be there now if it weren't for the detective work of a TV crew who tracked it down in 2014 and alerted the attention of the Porsche Museum they could tell it wasn't in great condition from the pictures they were provided with but they needed one for their collection so they were happy to pay a hundred and twenty five thousand dollars for it anyway the scale of the Forgotten vehicles issues only became clear when they got it to the museum it was missing its front wings the brakes and engine work totally seized and the interior would need to be gutted and replaced despite that it still contained several features that were exclusive to the very earliest versions of the car and they alone made the purchase price worth it it even still had a chrome plated cigar holder looking at it now after restoration you'd never believe it was the same vehicle hiding the car inside a barn is one thing but you'd need quite a large barn to stash a full-length limousine it's not impossible to do so though if it were this 1965 Mercedes 600 Pullman wouldn't have turned up as a barn find in 2013 the luxury vehicle was designed with the American car buying audience in mind but somehow this model found its way to Al's mere in the Netherlands despite its somewhat untidy appearance at the time it was found it's thought that it had been off the road for only around six years that means its last owner drove it until it almost literally fell to pieces fewer than 3000 units of this limousine were ever built so they're hard to come by today meaning that even battered models like this regularly sell for six figures whoever bought it would need to carry out some extensive maintenance work though the 6.3 liter v8 engine is a specialist piece of equipment and isn't manufactured anymore the one inside this old memo doesn't work finding a replacement will be easy but we don't imagine that would put a determined buyer off Paris is one of the best-known cities of the world the capital of France is known for its tower it's incredible cuisine its fabulous architecture and its wealthy inhabitants apparently the richest of the rich people in Paris have so much money to burn that they can leave cars worth millions of dollars rotting in the atole folk car park for years on end without giving them a second thought it's hard to call a car park luxurious but this one is right next to the famous Arc de Triomphe so we'll make an exception inside there are a pair of Maserati Quattroporte s that appear to be permanent residents they're joined by a Bentley Continental GT a Ferrari 550 Barchetta a Lamborghini Gallardo and a mercedes-benz SL 55 AMG they're dusty their tires are flat and it's clear from the thickness of the grime on them that nobody has come to look at them or move them for a long time perhaps they belong to one of the super rich footballers who play for Paris saint-germain maybe we're looking at Neymar's private car collection while it might seem like a ridiculous notion today back in the 1950s most car manufacturers were convinced that jet propelled vehicles or the future of transport and they sank big money into coming up with viable concept cars to support the idea none of them caught on but some got further than others as an example here's a Plymouth tornado concept car from 1958 it was really just a reworking of a Plymouth Fury from the same year but that didn't stop it turning heads at motor shows across the length and breadth of the USA the tail wing rocket exhaust and aircraft nose all confirmed that this car was built with speed in mind and Plymouth was still working on enhancing and refining their speedy futuristic machine as late as 1964 by 1974 it was clear that it didn't have a future and it was sold into private hands but the new owner passed away shortly after buying it and the car ended up abandoned in a field for the next 30 years after two more sales it reappeared again in 2019 almost derelict with Hornets nests in its seats now it's been fully restored and looks sensational we're moving from jet cars back to supercars and specifically a whole collection of supercars that were abandoned in a hurry in Bolivia back in 2012 all of the vehicles you see here are the former property of Humera Roca an airline boss who fled his home country after being accused of stealing almost 40 million dollars from his own company he couldn't take his 60 luxury vehicles with him so the state took a keen interest in seizing them we don't know if they succeeded but if they did they would have become the proud new owners of a 1969 Dodge Charger r/t a Toyota Supra a Dodge Viper a Nissan GTR a Ford Mustang 351 boss from 1970 and even at Ferrari Formula One car used in track testing in the 2007 season it's a beautiful set of cars but even adding them all together and selling them probably wouldn't quite generate the 40 million dollars that rocket supposedly took from his business we're not sure what happened to raka after he went missing therefore we're also not sure what happened to these abandoned cars we hope that someone's taking good care of them you can't disguise class even when it's coated and dust and showing the marks that have come with the passing of the years the red paint on this incredible classic car might be fading but it's still very clearly an aston martin to be more specific it's a 1957 Aston Martin db4 mark - in between the 1970s and 2011 it was parked in a garage in Malibu California USA going nowhere it was bought by its owner in the 1960s and used as a daily driver until it developed a mechanical fault inexplicably she decided to park it and forget about it rather than get it repaired in her later years she spoke of restoring it but her eyesight was beginning to fail her and she decided that selling it to someone who could take better care of it was the right thing to do despite its rough condition the car still comes with all of its original features and most of the damage is more cosmetic than it is practical unfortunately the owner never found out precisely what the mechanical issue that forced her to stop driving it was but we're sure it was nothing that couldn't be overcome whoever picked it up for $90,000 got a bargain there are a few places that you might expect to find a Jaguar e-type in the private garage of a millionaire is one of those places in a classic car museum or showroom is another under a hedge in a forgotten corner of a village in England probably isn't but this 1963 e-type was found under one in Bisley Surrey in March 2016 how it managed to stay there unnoticed for such a long time is a mystery there were less than 45,000 miles on its clock and it still had a tax disc attached to the windshield from the last time it was registered November 1969 clearly this gorgeous supercar hadn't been anywhere for decades a little research tells us that this is the car that was raced by Frank riches at Brands Hatch and other British racetracks between 1967 and 1969 but it gave up when the clutch burned out and it was put into private storage somehow private storage was replaced storage under a hedge at some point in the past 45 years being under a tarp has afforded it some protection but it's still a little bruised and the clutch will still need replacing with a price tag of less than $100,000 when it was sent to auction we're sure it became an exciting restoration project for somebody subscribe to the channel and turn on notifications and you will be the first to know when a new video comes out thank you for watching
