on the february 8 2016 episode of raw wwe would allow daniel bryan time in the ring to say goodbye to the wwe fans i have loved this in a way that i have never loved anything else fans were late to believe that brian was officially done in the squared circle and it was an emotional moment for everyone including the roster who were on the stage amongst the wwe roster were vince mcmahon himself who shared a close relationship with brian as the talent made their way backstage titus o'neil grabbed vince mcmahon's arm in a playful manner to imply that he should be letting stephanie mcmahon exit the stage first this enraged vince as he believed that he was almost about to fall which would have really embarrassed him he pushed him back and titus was suspended for 90 days and would later be reduced to 60 once the dust settled according to anne anderson who was backstage during the incident it took vince off guard and vince was in an incredibly vulnerable state due to brian's retirement meaning that titus simply picked the wrong day to touch vince in this manner number 10 kevin owens and sami zayn now it was reported in late 2017 that both zayn and owens had been sent home from the wwe's european tour as punishment for going off script during a smackdown show according to the reports both men were supposed to be beaten down by the new day following a match however they proceeded to ignore the planned spot on the match and decided to head back to the locker room it was never made clear why owens and sami did this but it could have been because they either forgot the spot or they didn't like the plans given by creative due to the nature of the punishment the latter is most likely although the punishments seem severe their positions on the roster weren't altered following the incident sami zayn and owens would secure a pay-per-view victory over randy orton and shinsuke nakamura at the clash of champions pay-per-view so it was interesting that the punishment only impacted their time on the european tour number 9 daniel pewter daniel pewter found out the hard way why it's best not to cross cut angle on an episode of smackdown in 2004 the tough enough contestants were challenged to compete in a squat thrust challenge the rid of the challenge would compete in a shoot style match against kurt angle a following angle quickly defeated the winner of the whoever won that challenge but then he kind of went on his own off script and said does anyone else want to challenge me that's when daniel pewter put up his hand he got in they started on a more amateur style of wrestling contest i didn't know it at the time because i wasn't versed in mma but a chimera lock that he placed on curt that i just knew was not good i kind of looked back at al snow who was standing in the corner and he looked to me and went we looked at each other when they fell and daniel peter fell on his back i said i'm counting i don't care the incident reportedly upset a lot of wwe superstars who felt like pewter disrespected angle as well as the entire wwe this all led to the 2005 rumble where wwe superstars eddie guerrero chris benoir and hardcore holly physically punished pewdar with stiff chops and suplexes before pewter was ultimately eliminated from the match number 8 big cass it's very rare in the wwe for a superstar to be outright fired for going off script however that's exactly what happened with big cast in 2018 during the time of cass is firing he was in the middle of the biggest push of his career he was in a field with daniel bryan and this tonight he's not even here but during the segment involving a mini daniel bryan cass decided to go off script the segment was supposed to involve cass hitting a big boot on the mini version of brian gas however decided to continue the beat down and this made vince mcmahon absolutely furious as soon as cass got back through the curtain he was chewed out by the boss cass would be released shortly after the incident with his last match in the wwe being a losing effort against brian at 2018's money in the bank number 7 kofi kingston elements of a wrestling match are heavily scripted and that certainly is the case with a match finish therefore when a superstar goes off script and the finish of the match is messed up this can have serious repercussions in january 2010 a triple threat took place between kofi kingston john cena and randy orton the finish of the match was supposed to be orton hitting a punk kick on kofi however kofi got up far too soon meaning orton had to improvise and hid an archaeo on kofi for the victory this made orton furious kofi going off script here was clearly accidental however it didn't stop him from being pushed down the card kofi was even initially picked to win the money in the bank match at wrestlemania 26 however these plans were quickly cancelled thanks to his mistake goes for the mtr kingston jaw in face number six the revival a wwe chairman vince mcmahon has always said that wwe isn't a wrestling company it's a sports entertainment company in recent years he's been against the idea of referring to the wwe talent as wrestlers and vince was unhappy and the duo were quickly punished as for their punishment they were presented in rather unfunny comedic segments bro you're not supposed to pour it on your littles i was trying to get you to drink it this was a stark contrast to the tag team that fans loved in nxt unfortunately the comedy segments actually led to vince wanting the revival to turn into a comedy tag team full time with a completely new gimmick which would mock the decorated tag team their punishment would ultimately lead to the duo leaving the wwe and signing with rival aew number 5 ric flair and randy savage the wwe title match at wrestlemania 8 featured ric flair defending the title against macho man randy savage the finish of the match involved macho man winning the title however that wasn't the main talking point of the match during this time wwe had a strict no-blading policy however in the title match flair bladed and this forced vince mcmahon to find both men a substantial amount of money the fine caused a lot of controversy as bret hart also bladed in his match against roddy piper but vince believed that brett's blood was caused accidentally and it wasn't achieved by a blade according to brett he and piper avoided the fine while savage and flair were fined five thousand dollars each brett revealed so me and roddy had the match and of course i was discreet no one really saw what happened and all of a sudden i'm bleeding and luckily for me it wasn't a regular gusher but i remember when i came back to the dressing room we had to pretend we were mad at each other he was apologizing and telling me it was an accident and he didn't mean to kick me because we had to put on this big charade so we didn't get fined so then 10 minutes later ric flair and macho man go out there and have a juice fest anyway wwf find them both of them i think i got five thousand dollars each fine for having blood in the match i remember they said what about brett and roddy and they said this was real so we never got fine number four poor london the apparent on-screen death of the mr mcmahon character is one of the wwe's most controversial storylines and it also led to a former wwe tag team champion being punished leading up to the demise of mr mcmahon vince would make his way through the backstage area and would walk past virtually the entire raw roster there was a scripted direction for the superstars to virtually show no emotion however paul london decided not to follow this mandate instead when vince walked past london alanda began to do the biggest cheesiest grin ever it was kind of funny and it was believed that this incident led to london falling out of favor with wwe management and it ultimately led to his release the following year number three triple h now the curtain call incident in 96 is one of the most infamous moments in pro wrestling history and for those not aware the curtain call was an incident which took place at madison square garden as following shaw michael's wrestling diesel in the main event triple h and razer ramon came down to the ring to embrace the two the reason for this was because diesel and razer had signed for wcw and would act as a farewell ceremony between four best friends and the incident was seen as one of the biggest examples of cafe being broken following the incident it was unfortunately only triple h was punished hpk was virtually untouchable during this time as he was a top wwe star but triple h however had his push halted he was initially planned to win that year's king of the ring tournament however this was rewarded to stonk hole steve austin instead and triple h would have to work himself back up the card number 2 daniel bryan but when the nexus debuted on raw in 2010 the creative direction from vince mcmahon was virtually to cause as much damage as possible according to wade barrett while speaking to inside the ropes vince mcmahon informed the stable directly that would you go out there and make everyone follow you destroy everything i want you to split that ring in the middle i want you to split all the tables you find i want you to punch even the security guards to punch even the referees jerry lola kit justin roberts as well following the nexus debut daniel bryan will be fired from the wwe o'brien went against this mandate and went totally off script and decided to choke justin roberts with his own tie according to wwe this was completely against pg guidelines and was simply too far and number one batista in 2008 when wwe transitioned into a pg product a lot an episode of talk is jericho and state you know this was a point where we weren't we weren't shedding blood anymore yeah no no we're pg and i just didn't want to hear that because it made no sense to me especially when there's a title match involved yes i knew we weren't supposed to do it and i knew i would get consequences but i thought i would get the consequences and uh and i didn't think it
