forgotten and abandoned the world is full of some seriously special cars that are currently decaying behind closed doors so let's check out some of the biggest barn finds of 2024 so far number 11 1970 Cadillac El Dorado $1,668 everyone loves old Cadillacs as they display the elegance and luxury that the American brand was once famous for which is why Dane of the detailing Dane YouTube channel was so excited to find a 1970 Cadillac elderado sitting in a barn in Michigan the El Dorado had been sitting in the barn since the 80s and was covered with so much debris and grime that you couldn't tell it was one of the greatest Cadillacs of all time they even had to use an excavator to gain access to the barn and pull the car out according to the current owner the El Dorado belonged to his dad and had a 400 horsepower 8.2 L V8 under the hood however as danne found out when he trailed it back to his shop to clean it it was in a terrible State as everything was covered in Grime and animal droppings thankfully danne worked his magic on it and in the end the El dorado's white paint job looked almost brand [Music] [Applause] [Music] new number 10 is the 1978 Chevrolet Corvette with an average used price of $253 15 the C3 Corvette is often overlooked by collectors and other Gearheads looking for a classic Corvette particularly models produced after 1975 despite having Killer looks the C3 Corvette was produced during the malaise era and as a result of strict emissions restrictions it was severely underpowered however the 1978 Corvette that WD detailing stumbled upon in a barn deserves some recognition as it only had 1,599 M on the odometer according to WD detailing the owner had purchased the Corvette as an investment and parked it in his garage for over 40 years the vet break show visited a forgotten 1972 Ford Capri in a garage located down a London back street the car is believed to have been confined to the garage since the early 80s having been originally purchased by the current owner's godmother when the garage door was opened the Capri was buried under thick layers of dust and even had five mattresses on its roof London's heavy traffic congestion was a major contributor to this car being left to rest in a garage as the owner mainly opted to get around the city by bike and owned other cars number eight 1990s Chevrolet Corvette c for ZR1 $35,790 R1 it's even more exciting when it happens in England where Corvettes are rare to find let alone a special edition model like the ZR1 well that's exactly what happened to Johnny Smith of the YouTube sections of unpainted metal under its hood is a 440 engine combined with a four-speed transmission many of the cars are in a severe state of disrepair but there are some true potential gems in the mix about despite some mold and mil the car's interior was in pretty good shape considering how long it had been left upon further inspection the 79,000 M odometer reading indicates this mustang did get to enjoy stretching its legs earlier in its life come home baby [Music] number five 1995 Acura NSX $78,000 uncovered by YouTube channel WD detailing Honda's most iconic JDM sports car seems to have been left to rot in the woods found near Traverse City Michigan this black 1994 5 Acura NSX was uncovered with heavily rusted brake rotors and in desperate need of attention the current owner Bill purchased what was the cheapest NSX in the Country 2 years ago the car was in a poor state of repair when purchased and despite undertaking some repairs it has again mainly been left to languish under the hood is believed to be a powerful 3.2 L V6 engine which is made to a manual transmission given this engine wasn't introduced until 1997 the standard 3 l must have been swapped out by a previous owner there were even mice living in it one revealed itself when the WD detailing team loaded it onto their truck to take it for a much needed detailing restoration and another jumped out of the engine bay during pressure washing the seriously impressive end result needs to be seen to be believed number 4 1969 Ford Mustang $97,000 showcased by Mitch of the detail Geek YouTube channel is this forgotten 1969 Ford Mustang hidden in a barn for 20 years it was in serious need of some cosmetic and mechanical attention Mitch winched the car out of its hibernation spot and onto his trailer once the car had arrived at his Studio Mitch could undertake a proper inspection bird droppings and general Grime left the paint in a horrendous State looking at the interior at first glance it was in good shape but the discovery of rat poison indicates rodents have been an issue during storage following a thorough detail the results were pretty outstanding and certainly worth taking a look at [Music] for 30 years before recently seeing light again as documented by Auto archaeology finished in eye-catching F5 medium green poly paint and originally equipped with a vinyl roof this would have been a seriously good-looking car when new under the hood is a powerful 440 V8 engine made it to an automatic gearbox in a more recent YouTube video Auto archaeology documents the first wash undertaken on behalf of the new owner the postwash results are seriously impressive with layers of 30 years of dirt and grime having been blasted away [Music] 1968 Dodge Charger RT 440 $112,000 this rare 1968 Dodge Charger RT 440 was uncovered by Mopars 5,150 the YouTuber team documents the journey through Northern California Oregon and finally Washington just 20 mil from the Canadian border to find this remarkable car amazingly the car came to their attention via a Facebook Marketplace listing forwarded to them by one of their followers the model is powered by a powerful 440 engine and was combined with a four-speed transmission one of the most unique aspects of this car is its rare E1 dark blue paint color the car had been tucked away since 1985 and was in desperate need of being restored back to its former glory number one 1967 Shelby GT500 $273 uncovered in a barn in Oklahoma this very rare 1967 Shelby GT500 was an epic find YouTuber Nate's classic cars reckons this stunner has been in storage since the 1980s following the pulling of its engine the model was finished in Striking Acapulco blue a color only available for half a year as if this car wasn't special enough it was one of just 126 gt500s to receive AC in 1967 increasing its Rarity upon Discovery the car was dusty and dirty but crucially it still had its full original body if this car were to head to auction we'd imagine it would be among the most expensive barn finds of the year [Music]
