we've heard Rick Harrison saved that you never know what's gonna come through the door of the guns that were pawnshop dozens of times and while there were many uninteresting items and regular deals on the show there have also been some rather amazing ones for which Wilde deals were made so in today's video we're gonna check out ten of them this will fly off the shelf I will have no problem finding a buyer base when the guys from Pawn Stars buy cars they're usually old timers in classics however there was an exception to this rule when a man brought record 2014 Hertz pesky GT Mustang one of the first 10 ever built back in 2013 Hertz a car rental company made a partnership with American business mogul Roger Penske the owner of IndyCar and NASCAR team to create a limited edition of 4 GT Mustangs there were only a hundred and fifty models ever made and see one of those extremely rare rides hit reckon one of the soft spots in order to make sure it ran smoothly Rick has professional ask our driver Joey Logano to take it for a test drive the professional driver stated that everything worked perfectly much to Rick's joy and the deal was struck for $60,000 notorious for its massive cost overruns and production troubles the movie Cleopatra starring Elizabeth Taylor released in 1963 became the highest-grossing movie of the year but still managed to lose money due to its production and marketing costs even though it was one of Hollywood's biggest flops ever some critics still praised the movie disregarding the bad rep that overshadowed his quality considering the movies history and everything that happened behind the scenes Rick was naturally interested in getting his hands on the Roman shield prop from the movie that he called one of the greatest movies ever made and one of the biggest screw-ups ever made after delivering a lesson from the history of cinema to the customer Rick revealed how excited he is about the prop and back room confessional saying it will fly off the shelf and that he won't have a problem with finding a buyer the customer explained that the shield was actually made by his father who worked as a prop master at Fox Studios and after the movie was done the director gave him his prop back as a reward of sorts the certificate of authenticity left no room for doubt so they got down to haggling even though the man asked for $500 Rick told him that the props don't usually go for a lot of money but since the shield was one of the coolest he has ever seen he offered him 300 bucks but paid 400 in the end in the episode helmet head from season 2 a man walked into the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop to sell what appeared to be a very old metal diving helmet since antiques like that are pretty popular as decorative items they are often forged and rigged therefore decided to call an expert to have a look at the 50 pound helmet nautical antiques found an expert rod confirmed that the helmet was real saying that it was between 1865 and 1870 and would easily sell for about fifteen thousand dollars at an auction Rick's first offer of seven thousand dollars was a lot lower than the $10,000 that seemed acceptable for owner Wayne and Rick's next hour of 8,000 did not satisfy him either however Wayne came to the shop hoping to sell the helmets and find an old gun instead and so the two men eventually came to a deal when Rick offered to thrown a functioning 1830s competition rifle on top of the 8,000 in cash in the episode called close but no cigar a man brought in a John F Kennedy cigar box with eight remaining and smoke cigars still stashed inside apparently JFK owned the cigar box while he was in the White House between 1961 and 1963 considering that press secretary Pierre Salinger bought 1200 cigars for JFK the day before the signing of Cuban embargo the seller was hoping to get ninety five thousand dollars for it unsure how low he was willing to go still he made a costly mistake by revealing that he's looking for some quick cash since he has a private museum and wants to move to a bigger facility which Gabri can opening using this very fact to his advantage Rick initially offered him $50,000 and even though the seller hesitated to lower the price that much they settled for $60,000 which is still low considering the value of the item when a man stumbled upon a rather peculiar gold bar when he was cleaning the Attic he had no idea how valuable it is so he brought it to the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop to have it Rick sixth sense immediately went off as he realized that the seller was offering a gold bar that came from the shipwreck ages ago but he decided to bring in an expert just to be sure the expert recognized the stamps and the gold bar that dated back to 1500s and concluded that the gold bar was definitely a shipwreck treasure from a Spanish ship that was destroyed in a storm while delivering gold and silver through the Gulf of Mexico even though Rick had bought gold from people every day he never had a gold bar from the shipwreck walking to his shop and naturally he just had to get it Rick and the old man made a sweet deal when they bought a restored 1962 Lincoln Continental seller Devon stated that after doing most of the work himself he had put enough time and money into it and he was finally ready to let it go he was looking to get thirteen to fourteen thousand dollars for the old car but since the PAS stars pointed out that the interior had been neglected they shook hands adjust $9,500 leaving the seller with the loss of 35 to 4,500 which definitely qualifies as a scheme on top of that it turned out that the original showroom price for the Lincoln was 10,000 so Rick and the old man paid less for the car in 2009 then it was worth when it first came to the market in 1962 which is pretty unusual for well kept classic cars back in season 13 a man brought a painted ancient Egyptian mummy mask from the second century AD which isn't something we and the Harrison see every day it's not a mummy in the shop mummies are actual quarry was well aware of this and the possibility that the mask could be worth a fortune to serious collectors but since he didn't know the first thing about it and the guy was asking seventy thousand dollars he decided to have an expert check it out when dr. Phineas castle arrived to the pawn shop he concluded that the mask was a real deal and that it must have been connected to a royalty because of the drawing that showed the deceased riding on a lives back he also added that it could be sold somewhere between 20 and 25 grand and that it would be a hard sale despite the fact that it was in great condition considering its age upon hearing this the guy didn't want to sell it for anything below $30,000 and even though Corey tried to haggle the price they made a deal at 30k ever since he saw Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory at a young age rick has been an avid fan of the movie saddle character the man that came to the shop carrying the props that were used in the movie a golden egg a golden ticket Willy Wonka's hat Wonka bars and most important of all the ever lasting Gobstopper knew this and Rick could barely contain himself the man took advantage of Rick's love for the movie and made it crystal clear right away that Rick is going to have to pay up if he was just one item from his collection probably referring to the Gobstopper the item he knew Rick would want the most reliving childhood memories Rick stepped out of his usual character and immediately struck a deal with the man without even trying to haggle and without investigating the authenticity of the items Rick bought the Gobstopper believing that the ultimate Willy Wonka prop would bring customers to the shop but at the end of the day he got played as the price of the Gobstopper actually ranges from twenty to forty thousand dollars as Rick himself once said he's crazy about sunken treasures and shipwreck items as we can't simply imagine the journeys they've been on obviously every shipwreck item has a unique story to tell and people all over the world are constantly exploring deep seas and oceans hoping they'll come across some valuable piece of history one time an unsuspecting woman brought an old Bell to the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop believing that the Bell was most likely worthless and initially considered putting it out in the art sale however it wasn't just any Bell but rather the Bell from a ship that belonged to Dutch East India Company established in 1602 in Netherlands the company carried out colonial trading in commerce in Asia and is considered by many to be the forerunner of modern corporations the late old man actually laughed at the Bell calling it a reproduction and saying that the atom was fake as it seemed to have never been soaked in seawater because there was no corrosion cautious as always the old math suggested that they call in an expert however after hearing the old math concerns the expert explained that 90% of the shipwrecks are in shallow water and that most of them are sticking up furthermore he concluded that while the lack of a large patent that might cause some concern this shipwreck was most likely only partially submerged without a doubt the Bell was authentic and came from a ship that sank in 1602 so wreck quickly struck a deal with the owner of the Bell apparently Rick has a soft spot for guitars just like he has it for cars in the episode titled Pond Hockey Derby a man brought in a 1961 Jibson SG Les Paul Custom guitar to the pawn shop saying that it belonged to his aunt Mary upon Cory's inquiry about aunt Mary the man revealed that she was married Ford an American vocalist and guitarist who was also the wife of legendary guitarist Les Paul as a husband-and-wife musical team Les Paul and Mary Ford co-wrote numerous hits including how hide the moon Lady of Spain and nab sitting on top of the world and many of those hit songs were played in the very guitar that was sitting in front of Rick the model of the guitar was already rare but the fact that it was directly connected to Les Paul and that there was so much history behind this guitar in particular made it even more valuable even though the owner was asking for $250,000 for the guitar Rick managed to negotiate the price down to $90,000 and snapped this piece that changed rock music for himself thank you for checking this video out and don't forget to smash that like button and also subscribe for new videos every day turn that Bell notification on and comment down below that you subscribed and we'll make sure to reply and thank as many of you as we possibly can once again thank you for watching and see you next time [Music]
