[Music] what's up everybody welcome back to alchemic as always my name is Tommy ball now there's a handful of cocktails of every March when it needs to know how to things here at alchemic sui suggested every bartender in mixologist knows at least visually classics remember now it can be incredibly difficult time-consuming to learn all these classics but the good news is that most of them don't have very many ingredients so today we're gonna be making 10th reading reading cocktails at every bartender ship now start let's start out with the drink as old as time the old fashioned we're gonna make it the traditional way so we're just gonna drop the sugar cube into a mixing glass so get with Angostura bitters maybe four five dashes give that a muddle until we have like a nice taste to it I always like to make sure I'm muddling until it's not too pretty anymore if there's a little specks that's okay cuz mildly change the flavor of the cocktail as you drink it make it more sweet all looks nice full two-ounce liquor bourbon I decided to go with Woodford Reserve her today now all we have to do is ice our mixing glass and give it a stir I like to serve this and pitched rocks glass with a big ice cube so strain over Cuba it's perfect so far garnish this with a nice orange twist [Music] that is the old-fashioned [Music] will do the original daiquiri now this is a gonna be a shaken drink so start out with a ten you're gonna need basic one part sour one part sweet two parts spirit one ounce of lime juice first match that with one ounce of simple syrup two ounces of light rum breezing dawn cue today simple Zach couldn't easier three ingredients I start 10 [Music] let's shake it up to the aleutian we can find strain that's our children left up garnished split my slice of lime that is the decorating all right let's mix it up and add a vodka drink into our arsenal of three ingredient cocktails it's gonna be a Moscow Mule couldn't be easier all you're gonna need is about a half ounce to three quarters of an ounce fresh-squeezed lime to two ounces of vodka I'm gonna use Tito's you're gonna need that ginger beer so just fill the tin with ice top off the ginger this is gonna get garnish the slice of lime is all right I couldn't make a video about three ingredient cocktails without making a Negroni so next up we're gonna make Negroni stir drinks so we're gonna start out with our 10 first up 1 ounce 1 ounce of Campari you can choose to do 3 equal parts I like my little heavier and the gin side so we do 1.5 ounces of gin I prefer mine and grones with a more floral verbal Jim so I'm using Bombay Sapphire today that's about it couldn't be easier we'll just I start a mixing glass serve my Negroni in each two rocks glass with a big ice cube so it doesn't dilute too fast we already mixed it nice so the only thing left to do is strain it my big ice horse garnished with a nice big twist [Music] that is all right next up another shake and drink called bee's knees this is a cocktail that came about during Prohibition what you're gonna need one ounce of honey syrup just typically two parts nineteen one part water one ounce fresh squeezed lime juice and again one part sweet one part citrus to two parts spirits so two ounces of gin the can I like this cocktail with floral or bulge enemies Bombay Sapphire in better shape that's perfectly diluted and mix I'm just gonna find strain it into my children [Music] I like garnishing this with nice twist of lemon that is alright we're gonna mix up our list of three ingredient cocktails have brandy to a list of base spirits so next I'm ready making a sidecar it's a shaking drink now the trick is gonna require a sugar rim so first thing I'm going to do is a random martini glass with some citrus set that aside for now while we build our cocktail you to me start out 3/4 of an ounce of fresh squeezed lemon juice you can go up to an ounce if you wish but match that with equal parts Cointreau triple sec I guess if that's all you have but you're gonna need some sort of two full ounces cognac brandy do say that's it three ingredients [Music] what about four ice cubes to our solution all we have to do is double straight now into our chilled martini glass the sugar rim and that is sidecar [Music] all right next up we have tequila cocktail the Paloma this is a drink that we can actually just build it our glass with your the need for this is maybe 1/2 ounce or so fresh-squeezed lime juice 2 ounces a full ounce measure of tequila I'm using a owl organic tequila really really smooth [Music] the only other thing that the other than that is top off finish with great and we'll just garnish this with a slicer one that is I think we go back to gin next keep going back to me because it's my favorite spirit but what are we making a gimlet next now gimlets meant to be tired so I'll probably go with like a balancing a quarter of fresh lime juice and a half ounce three quarters at the most simple syrup the original recipes made with homemade lime look up how to make that it's made with skin of limes a little different make it a little more bitter we do want to be tart let me use Bombay Sapphire for my gin two ounces of gin that's it three ingredients again we have to do next once we mix that up and diluted it properly we will double string what they love to do garnish will nice slice a line that is a gimlet all right next up we're gonna be making a mint julep put this in a julep in this drink requires some fresh mint if I have these big mint leaves I'll probably take five to seven put it in the bottom of my shoe look just a dash of simple syrup and then you gotta give it a muddle they extract some of those mint flavors once you've given that a nice muddle you can add your bare herb and using one of my favorite so just was very reserved today don't feel obliged to full-on lick of that that's all the ingredients that I'm gonna need for now however I really need some crushed ice so I'm gonna grab my handy ice crusher I'll do is fill it up about half way live a he's give it a Swizzle first mix it up and we'll top it off the rest of the way that crushed ice a lot of the flavor of this drink comes from the nose so feel free to smack the mint around a little bit and that is my favorite whiskey cocktail is called a boulevardier an obvious twist on the Nick groaning although some people say the boulevardier was invented first so yours similar turn in a groan you're gonna need sweet vermouth an ounce of each and again you can choose to use all three equal parts I like mine spirit board so I'm gonna go with the ounce and a half of my whiskey [Music] now technically you can serve this cocktail up or on the rocks I prefer it on the rocks so that's the way I'm gonna serve it however don't feel obliged and once then strain I'll do it over a big cube into my edged rocks looking great last last time garnish with an orange twist [Music]
