hey guys it's Maddy and today we are back with episode number 11 of 10 things you didn't know about this time we are talking about one of Mac's most marvelous trucks to date the Mac R model let's jump right in [Music] number one the Mac our model truck was introduced in 1966 as a replacement for the highly successful Mac B series following in the tradition of its predecessor the our model quickly proved itself as one of the world's most popular heavy-duty diesel trucks and was in production for 40 years number two the first are models introduced were powered by Mac thermo dining engines however shortly after the release of the our model Mac's revolutionary Mac Sedin diesel engine and maxi torque transmission debuted which would go on to be some of Mac's most notorious engine and transmissions allowing for five speeds and lighter weight trucks the Maxo torque transmission was the first triple countershaft and featured the highest torque capacity in the industry additionally the max Adeem and Maxo torque were marked on the models they resided in with a gold gol dog hood ornament instead of the typical silver one however starting in 2007 a gold Bulldog hood ornament took on a new meaning indicating an All MAC powertrain within the vehicle number three the film series Mad Max has used multiple Mack trucks in their movies throughout the years the Mack are 600 oil tanker truck found in the 1981 film Mad Max 2 the road warrior used a cool power engine set up another Mack are 600 model can be found in the 2015 film Mad Max fury road this time as a wrecker truck number 4 speaking of the Mad Max Mack R model truck the animated adult cartoon series South Park made a brief spin-off of the movie in a season 8 episode 3 clip the truck shown is South Park's animated version years to come number 8 there are numerous songs from all different genres throughout the course of time that make reference to the legendary Mack trucks included in that list would be Carly Simon all I want is you [Music] [Applause] Tupac's shorty want to be a thug javi wait like a meta on the bustle quit hey Sheryl Crow's crash and burn and let them actually trace adkins chrome bumper a big black Mack truck jay-z and Kanye West Ham as well as the Grateful Dead pride of Cucamonga well not all of these songs specifically reference in our model Mack the timeframe in which some of them are written combined with the overwhelming popularity of the go to our model cause probable reason to believe that at least a few of these songs are likely about everyone's favorite bulldog the our model number nine in the 1999 Australian rom-com paperback hero a Mack our model truck is used throughout the movie by the main character truck driver Jack Willis portrayed by actor Hugh Jackman Willis is a hard tough trucker who ends up writing a best-selling romantic novel however embarrassed by its content he uses his female friend's name without her knowledge eventually they fall in love in the rest is history but it's not too often you find some sweet old iron in a lovey-dovey movie such as this one number 10 the R model truck was built for all sorts of off highway heavy duty jobs however many Mac maniacs have said that depending on where your Mack R model was built it would change how the truck would be made for instance Western Mac's were built with a greater variety of lightweight materials and components and would become an RL or RS truck whereas Pennsylvania built Mac's had more of an unlimited component choice as they were more so in direct competition with other popular brands like Peterbilt Kenworth and Freightliner because of this Pennsylvania built Bulldogs might be more inclined to sport a maksud ein engine and an all Mac driveline as perhaps an R 685 model thank you so much
