for a show that's been on for nearly 20 years Sponge Bob Squarepants has gone through its fair share of rumors theories and urban legends through the years these theories have grown so much people pretty much treat them like facts turns out these so-called facts are actually lies but don't worry we all fell for the same rumors and theories over the years now let's recap the Sponge Bob lies multiple generations have believed over the years and get this Bikini Bottom information right once and for all over the years Sponge Bob Squarepants has gone through a lot of changes one of the biggest changes Sponge Bob has gone through would be his own maturity and it is only seemingly gone in the opposite direction after three seasons of a pretty smart and capable sponge he completely changed Sponge Bob got more childish goofed around more and wasn't as insightful as he used to be many people pinpoint the first spongebob squarepants movie is the turn for Sponge Bob and even led to a theory that spongebob died and was reborn again so the Sponge Bob after season 3 is a completely new spongebob well turns out this theory is completely false spongebob is the same old sponge live in his life the true changes came behind the scenes when creator and executive producer Stephen Hillenburg departed the show after season 3 under the guidance of new showrunner Paul tibbitt spongebob made a lot of drastic character changes which led to his immaturity in the continuity of the show he was the same character and never died the world of SpongeBob SquarePants takes place in Bikini Bottom with talking fish walking sponge and a lot of strange creatures many people have wondered about the origins of the undersea world thanks to the name Bikini Bottom being based off the nuclear testing grounds known as Bikini Atoll rumors and theories have built up for years that the creatures in Bikini Bottom were created from nuclear radiation while the theory has some major points there are too many holes in the plot to actually make it valid the first plot hole has to do with the timeline of the show the Bikini Atoll nuclear testing took place in the 1940s and 1950s but there have been new SpongeBob SquarePants episodes which take place well before that time one of the prime examples is the spongebob prehistoric episode ugh where we see the ancestors of spongebob Patrick and Squidward the episode dunces and Dragons went back to medieval times long before Bikini Atoll existed and then there's spongebob voice actor Tom Kenny who also confirmed the characters were not formed due to nuclear testing the show is simply a unique universe of animated characters living in their own underwater world in one of the more sick and twisted spongebob theories mr. Krabs has been making Bank on the Krabby Patties for so long because they're made out of actual crab yep millions of fans just assume mr. Krabs is so money hungry he would just become a cannibal crab in the process while the theory definitely does have some crab legs to it it's not true oh good first of all there would be a much deeper meat in the sea mr. Krabs could use maybe something like tuna D shelling and getting all the meat out of those crabs would increase the costs astronomically and mr. Krabs would become so desperate to produce these patties he would sell his own legs if the patties actually used crab one or more convincing theory the patties are made with whale one huge whale would provide plenty of fat could make hundreds of patties and it helps explain Pearl on Nickelodeon shows have come and gone over the years somehow spongebob has managed to outlast them all churning out over 240 episodes over the course of 12 seasons and all along the way diehard fans had to deal with some pretty cruel rumors rumors that spongebob was getting canceled of course a cash cow like spongebob wouldn't go away from Nick but the rumors spread like wildfire over the Internet multiple times the first big one came in 2013 as rumors spread all over social media three years later more rumors surfaced and people seem to believe them just because spongebob was featured in the post and even now as spongebob plans his big 20th anniversary the cancellation rumors persist but the show is far from over specials and movies are planned along with some spin-off shows featuring other characters from Bikini Bottom let's just put it this way people who grew up watching spongebob are now raising children who watch the show and don't see an end in sight Squidward has one goal in life become a master musician and achieve his goal using a clarinet of course after so many episodes of seeing him try and struggle with the instrument a number of theories have popped up because of it one of the biggest involves his skills with the instrument during the infamous season 1 episode bubble stand a bubble wraps around Squidward's house raises it up and then slimes it to the ground people point out that his clarinet playing got worse due to the dramatic fall but this isn't entirely true he's gotten better at the edge from entering certain points and worse at others the theories about him playing are almost all wrong the way Squidward plays his clarinet is actually all about his mood when he's happy he plays beautifully creating great music people can actually enjoy when he's sad or upset the music reflects this and it's awful once you notice you'll figure out that none of the other clarinet theories matter it's all about the mood the world of Spongebob Squarepants is filled with all types of unique characters the uniqueness of these characters have led to one of the most popular theories ever that the main spongebob characters represent each of the seven deadly sins this includes SpongeBob's lost Gary's gluttony Squidward's wrath Patrick's sloth Sandy's pride Plankton's Envy and mr. Krabs greed while specific traits can be applied to these sins the truth is that the characters are a lot more well-rounded than this the greed from mr. Krabs could also apply to plankton Gary's gluttony that could apply to Patrick as well or even Squidward when he was obsessed with Krabby Patties the sins listed are pretty much what creates the drama conflict and tension in every show and movie and it's not just limited to SpongeBob SquarePants when a controversial TV show hits the airwaves there are a lot of rumors and stories to come from it while Sponge Bob Squarepants is a lot more tame than other shows like beavis and butt-head South Park or The Simpsons the show has had its fair share of negative publicity to try and take it off the air one of the stories turned out to be completely false and changed many times through some type of digital game of telephone the false story here is about a young spongebob fan who got lost at sea a ton of fake news headlines claimed a young boy drifted out into the ocean and drowned while searching for bikini bottom or did he jump off of a cruise ship hop out of a yacht if the facts seem sketchy it's because they were the story was completely fabricated and sent around the internet like a piece of 1995 AOL chain maille the goal of spreading around a fake tragedy like that was a terrible attempt at dark humor and tried to paint a negative light on the show even though it makes no sense anyway the next time you see a story about a spongebob fan drowning scroll down and check out the sources first where were you the day you found out Squidward was an octopus and not a squid if you were like us probably laying on the couch scrolling through random memes until it came up and changed your view of Spongebob forever yep turns out Squidward is not a squid but an octopus we guess octo word didn't have the best flow to it we normally wouldn't think too much into it but the naming scheme is pretty simple on the show spongebob is a sponge Patrick Starr is a starfish sandy the squirrel is a squirrel plankton is plankton you get the point so then why did they name Squidward after a squid just to mess with our heads some kind of prank is it according to our wiki research the octopus and squid are technically a part of the cephalopod a class but there are clearly different species it'd be like naming Sandy the squirrels sandy the chipmunk but keeping her as a squirrel while the show may have lied with the name the clues were pretty much there especially during any puppet scenes when it was pretty clear Squidward was an octopus the reason he only has six tentacles on the show they're easier to animate just ask the seven limbed octopus and finding Dory eight is extremely complicated now that's more like it for years people have been spreading the false rumor around that Spongebob and his bikini bottom pals are all on drugs the evidence points to some crazy personality traits more than anything but we'll give you the deets so you can judge for yourself spongebob is supposed to be on some type of hallucinogenic for his active imagination and the way he bounces off the walls Squidward is supposed to be on some type of downer because he's always miserable the on edge mr.
