10 OUTGOING DESIGN TRENDS IN 2021

[Music] well hey fam it's seven girls sean taylor vet and y'all on today's video i'm going to be talking about interior design trends that are going out in 2021 [Music] oh my goodness yes i'm talking cabinets yeah yeah yeah they are saying the white and gray cabinets are on their way out and y'all i have grey cabinets i have grey cabinets in my kitchen i must say white and gray had definitely has been trending for quite a while and i think since people are spending more time at home they're looking for something different looking for a warmer feel so you'll start seeing colors different colors a range of colors being introduced onto kitchen cabinets with green band the most popular coming up in 2021 so if you get white or gray cabinets just like i do y'all they coming for us i'm just saying they're coming for us they're coming for us in 2021. the next thing that is leaving in 2021 are accent walls good old accent wall how i feel about an accent wall as an interior designer it's like you want some color but you really don't want no color and instead of engulfing your room in color i'm just gonna do an accent wall so i am telling you today if you are an accent wall person i need you to make a commitment that you're gonna paint your whole room and if you don't like it you can always paint it back accent walls next on the list is going out in 2021 our standard subway tiles oh my god oh my god i gotta clutch my pearls on that one in my kitchen right now right now i have subway tile it's okay and it's in a gray i have a gray subway towel in my kitchen will i be ripping my subway towel out absolutely not absolutely not i'm not ripping my subway towel out but they are saying this subway towel is going out maybe because we've overdone it in the last five to six years but what is really trending our tiles with color pattern and also larger subway tiles not just the standard i guess they're what two by four two by sixes but they're going bigger in the format of subway if you have standard subway tiles like mwah yeah we are on the hit list all right y'all the next one that's on the list that is going out in 2021 are appliances over the range my appliance is over my range i'm just telling y'all i'm just telling you see i'm the messenger we are in this together okay i just want to let y'all know we are in this together but my thoughts about the reason why this is a trend it seems to be going out is because of the trend that i stated in my interior design trends video and if you have not seen that video i'm gonna link it right here just so you can be in the know statement hoods i guess now since people are at home and they're thinking how can i beautify my kitchen even more besides the beautiful pendant lights let's do a statement hood but y'all i must say the statement hoods are beautiful they're coming in all types of finishes copper stone you name it you can design it you can find somebody to custom make it for you that's one of the reasons why the over the range appliance is going out is to make room for something new the next one on the list i know y'all gonna want to leave a nasty comment after i say this one the next trend that's going out is ship lap flap flap flap flap lap lap lap lap yes i said it ship lap okay let's talk about this ship left last time let's talk about ship lab we have ship left enough houses to make millions of noah's arks viking ships sailboats you name it we have we are shipped lapped out did i say that right lapped ship yes shipped lapped out so if you are thinking about doing some ship lap hold your horses just just hold your horses hold your horses before you commit moving on to the next trend is going out this one comes with great despair to say because it has been hanging on throwing punches left and right sticking around and that is mid-century modern and y'all i really have an affinity for mid-century modern i really like mid-century modern but they saying that it's going out but a word to the wise if you have some beautiful vintage mid-century modern pieces y'all don't get rid of your stuff don't do it don't do it just don't do it but they did say that it is a trend that's going to be going out but advice from me if you have beautiful pieces just make sure you hang on to them which leads us to our next trend that's going out which is pinned leg furniture y'all know we have pen legs pen tables pen consoles pen pen everything we have pinned so much that pinterest doesn't even want to see another pen leg table i'm just telling you that's that's what they told me we're going to invest in some more substantial furniture grow your interiors up in 2021 leave those pin legs behind i know i know without a shot of a doubt i'm gonna get a comment about this one the next trend that is going on in 2021 that is on the list barn doors barn doors i said it i said and i said it with conviction just like that shiplap what do i have to say about a barn door in my own professional opinion they do serve a purpose because if you are limited on space and you do not have the luxury of a door swinging in or out because of space a barn door is suitable it doesn't technically have to look like a barn door and if you're thinking about remodeling a space and you want to conserve and you have the opportunity i say always do what is classic to me and that is a pocket door or you can do a french door give yourself some options but y'all barn doors are out okay y'all the next one on the list are fake and faux flowers oh i said it yes i did autumn centerpieces all this now hold on hold on before i say for y'all get for you stop i have fake plants in my house i have two fake trees and i have some greenery and this very ornamental piece that i've had for years will i be getting rid of my fake trees and my fake greenery no i'm just going to tell you i'm not going to do it but in addition to the faux i have lots of live plants y'all i think i may have 14 or 15 live plants throughout my house and sometimes it's conducive on if your room or your area can get enough light so that your plants can thrive if you do have prime conditions why not try live plants that too is another design trend that is trending this year and again if you didn't watch my video i will make sure to leave the link in the description box so you can go and see what is happening with the live plants yes live plants are in and faux plants are out i'm keeping mine though okay okay okay y'all this is the last interior design trend that is going out in 2021 i might get cussed out for this one i i truly might get cussed out for this one because this trend right here affects my family and my friends especially my bestie oh god my bestie and if she leave a nasty comment on my page i'm gonna block her too i'm gonna probably i'm not scared of her i'll block her too the last trend that is going out in 2021 y'all are all them signs live laugh love kitchen farmhouse kitchen family welcome dust your paws y'all everything all of them signs are out now before y'all go in i gotta tell you your story y'all know i gotta tell your story talking to my girlfriend the one who has all the signs the one who i will probably have to block from my page i did accent one yeah i did an excellent wall in my laundry room i'm selling on myself and i painted it black and i was like i don't know what i should put should i put something in there pictures i'm gonna eventually get cabinets in there but i knew i wanted something a decorative element let's talk to my girlfriend she was just like oh don't worry i got a sign i'll get it to you when she came for a visit she brought her sign to me brought her sign that made it my sign now y'all i'm actually working on project coming up soon i'm working on my pantry i got some vegetables i got some things that i was thinking about how would i decorate in it and around it she was like oh you redoing your pantry i was like yeah oh i got a sign for you i got a sign you don't have to buy anything i got a sign i was like okay i have not received the sign from her yet this says pantry even though we know it's a pantry but i am going to have to tell her that i'm good and i'll use this video right here as an excuse not to get that sign from her so if you have sign after sign after sign after sign after sign after sign after sign after sign after sign game over in 2021 no more signs you reach a limit no more signs now if you have a sign that says bless this home that one is definitely a keeper those are all the design trends that i have and wanted
