bark like a dog come on tell me you're sorry oh all right get up but there have been some incredible heels throughout the decorated history of the wwe the million dollar man ted dbrc edge jbl and even cm punk all took pride in their work as a heel now the aim of the heel should predominantly revolve around being widely disliked by the audience but the heels should also shine a positive spotlight on their babyface rival and in turn make that babyface their hero in whatever story wwe are telling unfortunately it's not uncommon for a heel to go one step too far with their character and sometimes their conduct has received a lot of backlash from fans and critics alike but which times were they will join us now as wrestlemania looks at 10 time wwe heels went too far [Music] be sure to subscribe and hit that notification bell for daily wrestling videos and follow us on facebook for exclusive lists [Applause] number 10 taz mocks jim ross's face and following taz's incredible debut at 2000's royal rumble against kurt angle he gradually moved further and further down the card by the time of summerslam that year in august taz was in the lower mid card and was feuding with commentators jim ross and jerry lola taz and lola would have a total of two pay-per-view matches against each other one at summerslam which lawler would win and one are unforgiving which taz would win or should i say numb face although the feud wasn't too memorable there was a promo delivered by taz which received widespread backlash from fans as they felt a certain line that taz's promo was completely uncalled for in the promo taz would inform jr that i'd love to slap you across your face but it looks like god already beat me to it this was a direct reference to jr suffering from bell's palsy a few years back and a line that ultimately didn't need to be added to the promo taz even mentioned he felt awful after delivering the line number nine jerry lawler tries to full speed jake the snake alcohol a wwb is a habit of building an entire storyline around someone's past issues and well real-life issues with alcoholism this was certainly the case when wwe booked cherry lola in a feud with jake the snake roberts in 1996. roberts had a complex and troubled issue with alcoholism and wwe doing a storyline of this nature didn't sit well with anyone especially with roberts himself robert stated during an interview with inside the ropes that well i thought it was a horrible thing for mcmahon to ask me to do it was cheap it was disrespectful i brought us two tag team partners the feud would come to an end at summerslam's pay-per-view as lola and roberts faced off in a short match which resulted in lola getting the victory but after the victory was attained lola proceeded to pour alcohol down the throat of roberts a recovered alcoholic being a ghost this is wrong this was an iced tea this was real whiskey roberts mentioned that the alcohol burned his eyes and this is after roberts became a born-again christian and were sober at the time it was completely inappropriate an element of the storyline which should have never been approved number 8 tomaso champa spits on johnny gargano's wedding ring the fear between champa and gargano has been well established as one of the biggest blood feuds in nxt history the two former teammates had some absolutely brutal encounters and most of them were match of the year [Applause] candidates for the majority of their feud champa would act as a heel and this was a role that he received a universal acclaim for one of the most memorable moments of champa's heel run took place during a street fight with gargona at nxt takeover chicago 2 in 2018 during the match champer would take gargano's wedding ring off his hand spit on it then proceed to throw into the distance that's disgusting nothing like this had ever been done in wrestling and it was incredibly sinister for a heel to do in a pg environment number seven big boss man feeds al snow his own pet dog now the attitude era was a crazy time period for the wwe there were a lot of story lines that would be deemed inappropriate for today's pg product the feud between al snow and the big boss man perfectly summed up the outlandishness of the time period as during the feud between the two talented superstars big boss man stole snow's beloved chihuahua the feud escalated when bossman invited snow to dinner to make amends and it turned out what snow was eating was none other than his own pet dog that's right al 100 grade a pepper boss man went too far any number of occasions during the attitude era there was even a time that he stole the big show's deceased father's casket during his funeral it appeared as if the boss man was a heel character that wwe wanted to try and get over as the most villainous guy on the wwe roster he certainly did well number six kevin owens doesn't like flowers now there is a tradition in japan where wrestlers are given flowers before a match when wwe presented the beast in the east show in 2015 wwe wanted to follow suit with this established tradition before the bala vs owens match for the nxt title flowers were presented to both men owens however decided to take the flowers and throw them right into the [Applause] audience this shocked the japanese audience is a tradition that even heels except some fans felt like this was too far on owen's behalf and wwe mocking the japanese tradition to get some heat on her wins might have been unnecessary number five sure michaels puts the canadian flag down his trunks ashore michaels was the biggest heal in the entire wwe in 97. he did a number of heel acts that were deemed too far by many during this time period this ranged from implying that bret hart had an affair with wwe divas sunny to disgracing the canadian flag [Applause] during hbk's entrance at the 97 survivor series to draw heat in canada hbk would take a canadian flag and then proceed to stick it up his nose pretending to wipe his backside with it stick it down his pants and even try humping the flag in the ring obviously we apologize for that to our friends and our fans in canada it was uncalled for and completely disrespectful luckily the montreal screw job occurred shortly after hpk's actions which completely overshadowed this incident number four chris jericho versus cm punk's 2012 feud the wwe title feud for wrestlemania 28 was a dream match between chris jericho and cm punk the feud initially revolved around who the true best in the world was but it quickly escalated into exploring punk's straight edge lifestyle as well as punk's personal life during a promo jericho would reveal that punk's father was an alcoholic and punk's sister was instinctive there's a pattern starting here punk and you're going to end up just like him it's inevitable would then claim that punk losing the title will force punk to turn to alcohol on the road following wrestlemania 28 jericho proceeded to pour real alcohol over punk and then proceeded to smash a bottle over punk's head but i gotta warn you punk don't drink too much because if you do it goes straight to your head [Applause] as if this wasn't bad enough there were initial plans in the storyline for jericho to tattoo punk with jericho's own name according to jericho vince mcmahon eventually nixed the idea out of concern that there may be blood involved jericho added that both he and punk were in favor of the idea and they thought it would seriously take the field to the next level number three dean ambrose mentions roman reigns in a promo a roman reigns announcement in 2018 that his leukemia had returned sent shockwaves throughout the wrestling world fans hoped that out of respect for reigns his illness wouldn't be incorporated into a storyline but obviously they were sadly wrong oh my god not tonight during the feud between dean ambrose and seth rollins ambrose would directly reference reigns's cancer and now we're all gonna get what we deserve i mean look at roman the romans part for what roman did in the shield he has the answer to the man upstairs according to ambrose there was initially an even worse line in the script however he outright refused to say it sniff been revealed what the line actually was number two matt hardy kills jeff hardy's dog initially there were plans for wwe to do a jeff hardy versus christian match at wrestlemania 25 this would act as christians returned to the company and it would also been revealed that christian was behind the heinous acts that hardy had suffered in the months prior in the months before wrestlemania 25 hardy was targeted by some unknown individual [Applause] they made his pyro go off in his face then they even burnt down his house which fatally killed his pet dog it would later be revealed that person behind the attacks was his brother matt hardy finally i no longer have to share the spotlight with my brother of the reasons for the change of plans was that it was elite online that christian was returning to the company and vince cancelled the idea that christian was behind the attacks wwe revealing that jeff's own brother tried to murder him and actually successfully ended his dog with extremely dark for wwe and all this happened whilst they were in a pg product and number one batista tells rey mysterio that eddie's dead it's been well established by now that one of the most controversial things wwe have ever done was to exploit eddie guerrero's passing in 2006. wwe would involve eddie's name in a storyline between mysterio and randy orton in a move that many fans called a disgusting and tasteless promotional tactic ray you're looking up towards the heavens like you're looking at eddie let me tell you something though eddie ain't heaven eddie's down there [Music] they also used eddie's name during a promo exchange between batista and rey mysterio in 2009 following batista turning heel he would officially end the partnership between him and rey during a promo exchange batista would declare that eddie's dead [Applause] following mysterio discussing how much fun they had hanging around with eddie the line was completely uncalled for and it was seen as a massive surprise that batista even agreed to say it but they have it folks 10 times wwe heels went too far are there any other instances let us know in the comments down below i'll see you next time with some more wrestling content
