10 Magic Escape Stunts and How To Do Them (Part 2)

[Music] that's magic for you [Music] i am your host devon era today i'm showing you 10 magic escape stunts and how to do them part two and you thought i couldn't escape you huh so if you're ready hit that thumbs up button and let's go okay for this magic escape stunt veronica is going to escape from these chains and this lock but to add an extra element of suspense she's gonna do it under water all right i want you all to time me at home too like how long it takes me to get out we're also adding a 10 pound weight to the chains start the chaining process please note monica is a trained professional and we have practiced this many times let's cut to our camera in the pool okay another cool rope escape here this is actually one that you guys can do at home really easily so v have a piece of rope here go ahead and tie up my wrist please take the rope go ahead and tie it as tight as you can no way i can get out super tight got it that's pretty tight no way my hands can come out right yeah check this out i'm going to try to escape your rope restraints record time all right check this out quick turn around and i'll be out ready watch i just tied it three times so the secret to that trick is this is not a normal piece of rope it's actually a white bungee cord so really your first and only step here is to cut the ends off the bungee cords as you can see once we cut the bungee cord open it's actually made of a bunch of little tiny bungee cords little pieces of elastic rubber with a cloth wrapping the outside what looks like a normal piece of rope to the audience is actually stretchy so once it's tied in place and it looks like it's tight on my hands and wrists i'm able to just easily stretch it and slip it off my hands in an instant okay i have a really cool card trick to show you so check out this deck of cards okay to check it yeah normal deck all right so we're going to open up the box [Music] release the cards from their case as you can see they're all normal cards all different cards throughout yeah yeah okay uh so i'm gonna have you pick a card um but uh just think of any number between like one and ten what would you say seven seven so count down like seven cards like one two three four five six seven just like that count them down from the top of the deck like that instead into a pot of this like that one two three four five six seven that's the seventh card all right look at that card that you stopped at don't let me see okay show the camera perfect okay take the card and let's lose it back into the deck right there perfect it goes inside you saw it go inside the deck just like that watch let's take it put it back inside the cards case card box just like this and close it up fair enough okay right here i have some duct tape so what i want you to do is take the duct tape and duct tape up the card box so that we lock the cards inside this case okay so wherever you want just put it on there and we're going to completely seal it up so that there's no way the cards can get out right seal it all the way up make sure there's no way i can get in there i'll just do it we'll keep going until you're satisfied one more one more all right extra careful corners even have like extra cover okay awesome so uh you remember the car correct yes and we can see on all sides it's completely sealed up with duct tape yeah all right watch you ready check this out remember your card okay no [Music] [Music] i don't even believe what i just saw that was insane you want to know i very much want to know how it's done watch the video this is still sealed the first thing you need to pull this off are two duplicate cards you're gonna need a standard deck of cards a card box and some duct tape you're gonna start out by forcing one of the duplicate cards on your spectator that is to make them pick the card that you want them to pick in this case it's the five of hearts you then lose that card back into the deck that is the first part of the trick the second part is a preparation that we're gonna do before the trick ever starts before we show it to an audience you're gonna start out by taking a piece of duct tape and applying it to the back of the card just like that and then you're gonna continue covering the back of the card with pieces of duct tape until the entire back of the card is covered and now we're going to trim away the excess duct tape from the edges now that we have the card trimmed up on the front it looks completely normal but on the back it looks like duct tape this is how we're going to make the card escape we're going to hold this card on the outside of the box secretly palming it into that position and then making it look as though the card magically escapes from the deck is as simple as pulling the card from behind the cover of the box okay here is how to open any combination lock so you're gonna start off by spinning the dial to the right and you're gonna clear all of the tumblers inside the lock then you're going to apply some pressure upward on the locking bar as you spin and you're just gonna feel for clicks as you slowly turn this there was one right there now we're going to go back in the other direction and we're just going to do the same thing we're still holding pressure on the locking bar and we're just going to keep slowly turning until we feel that tumbler kick into place kind of stops naturally like that's probably it right there now we're just going to turn back the other direction feel for that resistance whenever you find this last one most of these combination locks have three numbers in the combination it'll just click into place just like that so try this out at home get a combination lock and practice and pretty soon you'll get the touch and you'll be able to open any lock okay so here's the idea we're gonna try and tie dan up so he cannot escape okay okay so we're gonna take these two ropes right here on the legs around the hands and do me a favor like not this like as high as hot as you can how many knots however many knots you want to do it's a tighter and it's super they get to make it make it make it like really tight you think you could not get out of it oh she's she's going in i'm not giving up this chance you don't have to be that serious it's just it's just good like yeah right [Music] hey see what no that's magic for you [Music] so the first step to this it's really easy to set up all you do is run the rope right underneath their legs just like this but here's the key you do not want to tie a knot here you just want to leave it crossed like this this is going to allow you to slip out of the rope so again your hands go right there on top and you can have them tie this knot as tight as you want i can tie multiple knots i can do like eight knots if they want no matter how much they tie it all you have to do is kind of turn your hand sideways and you just slip right out of it and then you can slip this without a cover but i feel like it works a lot better if you just cover it up with something that easy that is okay b for this one you're going to handcuff me for real take the handcuffs check them out they're normal handcuffs they're actually standard police issue handcuffs they're not trick handcuffs or anything like that yeah these are real nothing in my hands as you can see empty hands uh so do me a favor and handcuff me right now seriously yep get them on there don't hurt yourself oh my these are for real all right get it on there otherwise is that too tight nope get it on perfect just like that you got them locked in yeah all right now i have a blue sash right here in my pocket will you grab that for me yes perfect now just go ahead and drape that over my hands okay just like that now check this out under the cover of the sash i'm gonna try and do just a little bit of magic escapism okay so give me just a second it's a little tricky i'm gonna try i think i got it wait for it what like that magically escape from the ankle how did you do that now the key to escaping these handcuffs is i actually have the key hidden on me before the trick starts right here i have a fake thumb with the key be a pair of handcuffs like this you want to put a sash or a cloth over your hands to cover them and then you're just going to slip the thumb tip off take the key unlock the cuffs and let yourself free okay this one is a classic escape stun so i have some rope here it's coiled up on the ground as you can see and we have it attached to the back of my utv so eric's driving the utv veronica you are going to tie up my hands with this rope so do as many knots as you want just tie up my hands as tightly as you want as secure as you can get it okay now the goal here is for me to escape the ropes while eric drives the utv away and if i don't get out of the restraints in time there's a chance i could be pulled behind the utv so tie it as many times as you can as much as much as you want quiet nice good and tight there okay hands tied up tight you uh verify for everyone at home that's legit i'm going to try to escape these restraints eric go ahead and fire up the utv all right put it in here ready when you are go come on last second i'll teach you the secret right now as with many tricks this one comes down to timing and preparation so before this demonstration started veronica and i practiced tying a certain series of knots for these restraints and we timed exactly how long it would take me to escape them and i knew i had exactly 100 feet of rope we timed out the speed of the utv how long it would take for the entire rope to run out but just so you know there wasn't really any danger involved at all because of this so the other end of the rope would be hooked to the back of a car an atv something like this but the real trick in this is that there's actually no real danger in getting pulled by the atv the rope is attached but it's attached with a safety there's a separate small piece of rope here that's just tied in the knot and looped over a couple times that the real end of the rope simply slides into so that the real rope is held in place as the vehicle drives away it unravels the pile of rope on the floor but in case the magician does not escape in time it just pulls right out okay so for this one we have a fun challenge it's an escape challenge as you can see we both have our hands tied hands tied tight yep all right are you ready do you think you can beat me i'm thinking something i don't know i mean you think you can get out at all because i well no it's kind of i can't get to the all right all right time us at home are you ready three two one go well then how did you do it i'll show you right now okay here's how you ensure that you win the magic rope escape challenge every single time so the trick is their rope is completely normal but your rope is a trick magic rope let me show you how to create it so you're going to take a piece of rope that's identical to their piece of rope and then you're going to cut it in half the next thing you're going to need are a couple little button magnets you can get these from pretty much any craft store and you're going to put one of the magnets in each of the pieces of rope using a hot glue gun and they will look at a glance like they're just one solid piece of rope so now that the rope is tied in place it's pretty much hidden underneath my wrists but all i have to do to escape is put a little pressure and the magnets will split apart just like that freeing me from my restraints and winning me the challenge okay this magic escape stunt is a cool stage illusion that i've done a really cool diy of that you guys can do at home so stay tuned for the explanation of the trick so i've got some pointy wooden sticks here we've also got a cardboard box just a standard cardboard box and we have our assistant veronica who's going to help us out with this trick veronica if you would please have a seat on the box on the floor there [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] careful planning with your assistant so before the trick starts you're going to take all of the dowels and the box you guys are going to set this up beforehand you're going to carefully place them in the box so you know exactly where they're going to go so you're going to start off by your assistant getting inside the box and positioning themselves as you poke the stick through you want to make sure they can be in a comfortable position and make sure they guide the stick through the box poke the hole initially and then they grab the stick and they can kind of guide it through and poke the hole on the other side so that's really the secret to this trick pre-poke the holes in the box and make sure you go slow so you don't accidentally poke somebody let them guide the stick once it's inside and you just keep your hand on it to make it look like you're the one pushing it through so this is really a performance of two people a magician and an assistant putting on a performance for an audience not necessarily something you can do for a bystander so find a friend set it up and have some fun and that is it for
