$10 Laos Street Food Challenge in Vientiane

[Music] I don't know what this is oh yeah I'm in love hi everyone we are in Vian LA and um we're going to go to a market and see what delicious street food we can find and we're going to see how much food we can get for $10 us so $10 equals up to about 169,000 keep we don't really have a plan we're just going to see the whatever stands out and looks good I think we're going to [Music] try we have found our first scien of street food so we're going to go see if there's anything in this little area we want it's good oh noodles yeah and those spring rolls look kind of good too this one looks like cheese rice yeah fried pizza but he's about to warm up the the oil and here's some skewers fresh skewers on Ice oh they look pretty good yeah on Ice okay oh look at these M oh do they have here oysters oh no it's noodles oh it's like a noodle clam I think they chop up the clam and put it in there we looking at that it's like a oyster looking shell but has noodles in it okay let's make our game plan so we already saw a lot of tasty looking things they're just getting started I think we might avoid the seafood so we're going to go try some other things first ready okay let's eat so first up is noodles I think they serve you with fried spring rolls and mix of bean sprout veggies and rice noodles let's get some can we have uh one noodle I think we're jumping in the Deep Bend first you know what this looks like oh this one looks like cow blood we have that in Korea too wow we never asked what it's called we can ask at the end we'll find out so I have no idea um exactly what's in this but it looks like some rice noodles icy bean sprouts she had this big soup bat full of I think organ Meats I think this is blood like congealed blood there's some veggies in here it looks really really tasty and then we got this big plate of Greens on the side and I also see a bunch of stuff like some different seasonings and stuff but I'm not quite sure what they are for so I'm just going to go for the noodles with a little bit of the green here we go let's see oh yum it's not spicy at all the meat is really really good it tastes nice and fresh and the blood is really really good in it I don't know what that says oh I know it taste good what is this one called name Yu Yu this one M Mig Mig all right this is Mig really tasty bowl of noodles oh this is nice savy delicious bowl of soup and the noodle is firm enough just to give you a good texture it has a little bit of sesame oil flavor that makes the broth really delicious I like this yeah me too it's really good good start to the day so these fried spring rolls we asked the lady what it's called botu we order two they look really tasty the skin on the outside is so thin and looks so crispy The Filling so good I'm like shaking M these rice wraps over here they're like potato chips they're super crunchy yeah I love it and this sauce here is a chili sauce you dip in the spring roll and it gets that nice crispy sweet and spicy flavor I love these M so we just finished the noodles and the spring rolls we're not sure how much they are so we're going to go find out and then go get some more food let's go co it was 40,000 Kip which isn't too bad at [Music] all I don't think this is local food but it's called red pizza so I mean why not just try it so they are different types oh yeah I think that's ham and cheese that's cheese cheese and something they're all cheese too you want that one yeah okay that one looks the most promising in the photo oh wait no I think it has crab in it can we do this one have and cheese just one yes oh she has the dough ready like a fresh I think so yeah oh oh that's not hand so great oh she so she makes it into like a won almost like a dumpling thank you how much oh wait I have a 20 so that was uh 15,000 kit which is slightly under a dollar it looks like a fresh hot pocket I am so excited you're right it is a Hot Pocket it's a fresh hot pocket fresh hot pocket oh yeah looks good oh yeah oh yeah looks good you think it's cool enough to eat uhhuh I'm going to try it by itself and then I'll try with the sauce I mean fresh dough cheese and ham you can't beat it this is so good M obviously this isn't traditional but it still tastes really really good M I'm in love oh look at this baby oh yeah that looks great wait no oh my God I oh my God the dough is fresh I rarely get impressed by those but this one is really fresh you see the outside crusty part crunchy outside part nice and soft squishy inside tasty wow do you want ketchup with it or mayonnaise I think it's ketchup M mhm ketchup remag me of eating french fries with ketchup cuz the dough is fried all right I'll try it with the ketchup Mayo if not ketchup it's pizza sauce oh W I can't tell the difference tasty which one should I get oh they look good I want to do like maybe one of these ones and then maybe some meatballs which meatball do you want though this one this one 5,000 5,000 2,000 one and this one yeah yes oh so that's a chili sauce I think so thank you thank you we got some sausage and some meatballs and skewers I think he had it ready slightly cooked in the very beginning but he cooked it again in charcoal so I'm hoping it has that nice charcoal flavor in the meat mhm the sauage is nice and spicy the sausage is a little bit fatty it tastes like a pretty typical like hot dog sausage but this sauce is what makes fantastic let's try this I think this is chicken meatballs M it's like a perfect amount of heat I think what makes these really tasty is like grilled charcoal on the meat have another bite M you're right I love the sauce it's like garlicy spicy sauce M the sauce makes a whole difference wow at only 5,000 first cure you can definitely have a whole meal for like $3 right which is about what like 60 so as you can see behind us there are many stalls out here tonight and I don't know if it's just the timing of the day feels like there aren't that many people out but you think for Saturday night you have more people out but I think they e late if I hit the stomach for it I want to try every single one of them but uh we want to show you as much as we can we're feeling a little bit full so we're going to walk a little bit and see if there's any more street food in the area I think we've only spent like what $2 $3 yeah like $3 we still have $7 left I don't know if we can finish [Music] it I'm just going to get a drink cuz I'm super super thirsty there's been a bunch of drink stands everywhere I'm just going to get bubble tea though whatever you want could I have lemon jasmine tea oh they had a Ley soda I should have gotten a soda oh oh well I'm sure we'll have more M oh nice and refreshing it's like a sweet and lemonade with bubbles we want to try some more like other teas and drinks too but I think we we have plenty to go so let's head onward to find more street food we just hopped into a convenience store and one thing I noticed we still have cats around here we haven't seen a lot of dogs but a lot of cats take a look at these ones behind me that cute chilling on the beer La hi oh all right so we just found this other street with a ton of Street stalls on the one side so we're going to go explore and I'm almost full that drink looks pretty cool you want to go yeah let's do it all right where are we this lady was making noodles you want to give it a try and there's a lot of people eating at this stall so we think it must be good can we have one oh no [Music] spicy Parry tomatoes with other vegetables and adding some lime juice to it papaya I oh papaya oh that was the peppers some peanuts and some greens all right so we just got our salad noodles not sure what it is it looks really really good when she was making it so everyone else has drinks with them I saw like three people order the same juice so that's what I'm going to get so what do they get the one on the corner the orange one this one just making sure I get the right drink for Sarah um can I have this one one and this one one how much 20 ah this is a different one than the one I was saying but that's okay wait why don't you get another one it's only 10 it's only 10 all right we have our drinks I'm going to try one of the drinks first I think it looks to me like Ty milk tea but I'm not sure [Music] yeah it's tea it's good M creamy and earthy it's really good I thought it would be like some kind of an orange or fruity drink no the one I wanted was the one next to this the yellow one yeah oh I'll get another one let's just get another one a few moments later all right we got one more so I think this is passion fruit I see some little like seeds floating in it we'll just have three drinks it's so good oh it's good sour and cold and refreshing try this one M it's like super strong passion for flavor it's really good I want to try this so this is like a murky green tea looking drink I have no idea what it is oh this is a little different I taste a little bit of red bean and some green tea maybe some Pond leaf it's really strange I can't tell what this is it tastes like shik as well to me it tastes super earthy maybe it's sugar can it's kind of like grass it's pretty good though I don't know if anyone knows what this one is let us know cuz we're not sure what it is you want to try the salad now oh has a lot of veggies cherry tomatoes I don't know if this is my thing has a very strong fishy flavor it's really strange because I don't have the texture of fish but the and flavor is fishy yeah you can have a you can tell when Sarah's quiet she's not sure it has a very very strong fermented fish flavor you're right it's not just fish it's fermented fish it's fermented fish but I can't I don't think I can I don't think I can finish this one it's it's not for me done I think it's time for dessert you going to go this way or this way this way let's go this way the flavor is still in my mouth hell can I have a one small both [Music] noodles I have a bowl of boat noodles so we just saw this right on the street it's only 10,000 Kip per Bowl which I see a lot of fresh herbs the broth looks like this dark kind of clear broth I see some different things like meatballs and some chunks of meat in there and they smell so good we just saw them make them and they look so delicious really tasty the cilantro and green onions come through right away the noodles are nice and springy and kind of savory oh yeah let me try a meatball this is great and for the price you just can't beat it and then our mics died M oh wow the meat is Super Meat and savory the broth is just so good you should try it oh yeah we got a small bowl of noodles and it was so tasty I got another big one so yeah I'm going to eat another bowl of noodles live in the dream they're delicious but they're also super cheap that's our type of meal it's pretty good two bowl of noodles for 30,000 I think we might be done for the night we made it to like $9 almost $850 but I'm totally stuffed I don't know if I can do anymore what do you think yeah I'm really stuff I think though $5 would have been enough all right everyone that was so good you yeah we ate so much food for $10 worth of noodles spring rolls fried pizza fried pizza drinks yes what was your favorite food oh I think my favorite was the first noodles first noodle St that was just really really good that would be what I would order for a meal that was really tasty but my favorite thing was the fried spring rolls see the outside being crispy and super delicious on the inside I would get that again in hard I think our least best was the papaya fish yeah I could only get a bite of that but the three drinks that were really really good I think it's time to call it a day yes so thank you guys
