10 FREE FX PLUGINS ALL PRODUCERS SHOULD KNOW ABOUT IN 2023 (MUST HAVES!!)

a couple of videos ago I gave you a list of my favorite instrument plugins and it turns out that you guys loved it so I thought it would only make sense to follow that video with 10 of my favorite effects plugins the first plugin on this list is from slight digital fresh air is a free plugin that uses a combination of EQ and harmonic excitation to enhance mid and high frequencies by increasing the presence and brightness of your sounds the plugin has a very simple GUI with only free self-explanatory knobs to control the mid and high air knobs are of course going to be enhancing the mid and high frequencies and the trim knob is going to allow you to increase or decrease the input gain before any processing has been added boost in the mid or high frequencies will often add guiding to your sound and the trim knob is going to allow you to compensate for that by turning the input signal down this plug-in is going to sound really good on vocals allowing you to add some Shimmer to the higher frequencies and it also works really well with percussion and hi-hats too what we have here is clearly a very simple plugin but one that I think every producer should have in their collection no chance no chance to win no compromise no chance no way no compromise oh foreign the mini box VST simulates the sound of a classic British combo amp allowing you to build effects chains all in one instance of the plugin the free version contains eight modules and there's also a paid version that contains over 70 effects modules building your own effects chains is as easy as adding each Channel strip one by one but the most impressive part of this plugin is the amount of presets that they bundled in with it mini box was made with guitars in mind but this multi-effects plugin is going to come in useful for pretty much any melodic sound and it also sounds good on drums too [Music] foreign foreign [Music] [Music] effect list will be complete without this next plugin and still to this day I can't believe that this plugin is free super massive by Valhalla is a Reverb And Delay plugin that uses a very simple interface to create some really Lush and Atmospheric sounding spatial effects the latest version of this plugin contains 18 different Reverb modules all of which have their own unique characteristics once you start diving into some of the controls in this plugin you'll quickly be able to create some huge sounding delays and reverbs when I'm using Reverb plugins I usually like to find a preset that sounds good to me and then tweak it so it better fits my sound of course like all of the Valhalla plugins this is going to come with a ton of presets so you're going to be spoiled for choice on that front so for those reasons Valhalla supermassive is a must-have for all producers [Music] foreign [Music] thank you now the title of this video says 10 free effects plugins but it's more like 40 something if you count all of the plugins from the kilo Hearts Essentials bundle this Suite of plugins contains everything you could possibly need including delay transient shape in chorus frequency shifting and one of my favorites the tape stop plugin the crazy thing about the kilohertz bundle is that it actually used to be a paid product that would have set you back over 400 but as a response to the covid-19 pandemic kilo Hearts decided to make this Bundle free for a limited amount of time which then led to it being permanently free in my opinion there's no bundle of free plugins with as much depth and quality as the kilo Hearts bundle so I definitely recommend this to any producer regardless of their budget [Music] thank you [Music] thank you [Music] [Music] multiband compression is a great tool to use to add Dynamics to your Productions and this next plugin is hands down the best free option for this category X for audios Ott is a compression plug-in that allows you to split the incoming audio into free bands that can then be compressed or expanded separately the controls for this plugin are extremely simple to use with the depth knob acting as a dry wet knob the time knob is going to control both the attack and release of your compression then of course the input gain and output gain are very self-explanatory the sliders for each band are going to control the threshold and the upward and downward knobs are going to control how extreme the compression is some useful applications for Ott would include drum bus processing allowing you to boost certain frequency bands vocal processing to bring out the higher frequencies with upward compression and general bus processing to add glue to your mix and bring multiple elements together Ableton users are already going to have this plug-in natively but for anybody that doesn't use Ableton this one is definitely a must-have don't you think like that [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] probably the most simple plugin on this list is going to be wider as you can probably guess from the name this plugin is going to allow you to take your incoming audio signal and widen the stereo image of it without introducing any phasing issues in a recent update there was a low bypass feature added which is going to allow you to widen your bases without affecting any of the sub frequencies a really simple but effective plugin here that's on par with some of the more premium stereo Imaging plugins foreign [Music] oh [Music] oh my God the next two plugins are both from baby audio the first of them being a really cool multi-effects plugin magic dice is powered by baby audio spaced out plugin and is loaded up with over 50 effects that are combined and played back at random using a dice button in the center of the plugins interface each roll of the dice is going to generate a new effects chain consisting of reverbs delays and modulation effects that's going to be unique every time the load a dice button we then have a mixed slider that can be used to mix the dry and wet signals to your local if you're unsure of what effects you'd like to add to your sounds and this plugin is going to be great and I often find inspiration for the rest of my tracks by using it [Music] okay [Music] another great free plugin from baby audio is the pitch drift plugin this one's going to allow you to control the pitch drift of your Sound by using only two controls the amount slider of course is going to be controlling how much pitch drift is being applied then the speed setting is going to control how fast or slow that pitch drift is happening Maybe audio say that this plugin was inspired by acoustic instruments that are never totally in Pitch 100 of the time and that pitch drift can be used to break the spell of digital Pitch Perfection this plugin is going to come in really useful when you're making some more vintage or analog sounding music and of course it's going to sound great with low-fi Beats downloading the freebies from baby audio's website is also going to give you access to the magic switch plugin and the baby combat plugin but these two plugins are my favorite out of the four thank you another plugin that's going to work really well when making vintage or age type music is origin by cymatics whether or not you like what cymatics do there's no denying that they make some of the best sample packs out there and they seem to nail that vintage age style every time so it would only make sense for them to release their own plugin that will allow producers to achieve the same sort of sound and this is exactly what they've done with the origin plugin origin contains multiple effects in one plugin the presets that come with origin are inspiring and serve as a great starting point to tweak and make your own the big dial in the center of the plugin is going to allow you to resample your audio giving you that underwater effect that you'll hear in a lot of Drake songs around this we then have saturation a noise generator that contains quite a few noise types A movement knob that's going to give you that sort of wild flutter effect and a quarter snob directly below this we then have access to some pre-post and high pass filters in my opinion origin has to be in the same conversation as plugins like rc20 and tape mello5 and I'd recommend it to any producer trying to get that warm analog sound [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] and the last plugin on the list is from the guys over at youjam the finisher micro plugin comes with 25 effects type all of which are interesting and unique once you've chosen the preset you want you can then use the amount knob to control the mix of your effect included in this plugin are some more simple effects like high and low passes choruses and phasers as well as some more complex modulated effects like the cabinet and various speed effects this is another plugin that will yield some really interesting results with very little work and offer inspiration when mixing and adding effects these one knob plugins in my opinion are very useful because you can spend a lot more time composing and creating rather than tweaking parameters and finding presets [Music] foreign
