there's nothing quite like watching a movie and realizing the exact moment at which it achieved greatness and was forever cemented in your mind as an all-time classic but that said it is sadly far more common for a film to commit one single act of cinematic sacrilege which just tips the skills too far and ruins the whole damn thing you know one baffling creative misstep that the film just then can't recover from and with that in mind I'm Josh from whatculture.com and these are the 10 exact moments recent movies lost Us number 10. Wonder Woman's Cameo Shazam Fury of the Gods Shazam a fury of the Gods is one of the most disappointing sequels in recent years and while most of the movie is a pretty pedestrian superhero flick and one packed with insane Skittles product placement for some reason it truly hits the bottom of the well right at the end see hero Billy Batson ends up sacrificing himself to save the day but before we've got more than a hot minute to mourn Billy's death Wonder Woman rocks about of nowhere to put things right Wonder Woman repairs the Wizard's broken staff and then uses it to bring Billy back from the dead and even though few would have expected Billy to you know stare dead this Superstar Cameo felt like a painfully desperate way to make it happen the moment that Wonder Woman shows up in a cameo that was clearly filmed separately from the scene's other actors by the way it's hard not to picture a Warner Brothers executive arguing for its inclusion in an attempt to boost the flagging DC EU that we also had to sit through the tonal derailment of Wonder Woman's iconic theme jarringly interrupting Billy's makeshift funeral only made the whole scene fall even flattered nobody needed this in the end of the movie in a horribly corporate naught number nine Corey beats up Michael and ticks his mask Halloween ends Halloween ends made the Bold arguably very ill-advised decision to shift the focus away from both Lori Strode and Michael Myers towards an entirely new protagonist Corey Cunningham Corey has considerably more screen time than either Lori or Michael throughout the movie and through his interactions with both Michael and Laurie's granddaughter Alison is seemingly teed up to become the next Michael Myers yet even if you could accept this subversive narrative choice for the final entry into the Lorry Michael Saga fans struggled to accept that Michael could be beaten up and have his mask stolen by Corey of all people after all a little while before we see Corey beat up Michael we also see Corey himself being brutally attacked by a group of local high schoolers who to make matters worse are also shown to be a group of marching band geeks and so having Corey a guy who couldn't fend off a few dweeb kids be the one to overpower Michael and take his mask left a hugely sour taste ensuring most fans were left totally disengaged for the rest of the movie even accepting that Michael was left in a massively we can stay it after the events of Halloween kills it still felt like character assassination to have him be manhandled by a guy who himself got bodied by a group of kids number eight genetically modified giant locusts Jurassic world Dominion while few were expecting great things from Jurassic world Dominion at least it had to benefit from uniting the new Heroes with the Legacy ones as they fought some dinosaurs together right well for reasons that will never make sense to anyone except filmmaker Colin trevorow Dominion revolves as much around dinosaurs as it does genetically engineered giant locusts the plan of the primary villain that being the Tim cook-esque head Tech on show Lewis dodgson is to use his breed of locusts to Devour the crops of rival corporations allowing his company to control the global food chain and Reiki and colossal prophets or something and a baffling amount of the movie's runtime is devoted to this plot and once you realize trevoro is actually committing fully to the nonsense it becomes clear that he's got a little interest in delivering a satisfying finale to the Jurassic world Trilogy I mean just locusts man in a movie about dinosaurs running rampant around the world who gives a single about locusts number seven it's all the simulation don't worry darling Olivia Wilds don't worry darling had so much potential and while the marketing framed the sci-fi movie is a Stepford wives-esque Tale in which men use technology to subjugate women the big reveal is ultimately decidedly much sillier than that see a deep into the third act Alice finally learns that the idyllic 1960s town of Victory California is actually a digitally simulated town in the present day that was created by the town's apparent founder Frank the town's men such as Alice's husband Jack get to live out there perfect lives in the town with their wives unknowingly forced into the simulation alongside them and on Pair by the idea of the Matrix filtered through the lens of toxic masculinity isn't bad at all but it's all about the execution and that's where don't worry darling falls down hot the reveal comes far too late into the film the details feel rushed and glossed over and overall The Twist is just a little bit too silly to take it as seriously as wild clearly wants us too 6. Kaya is the killer where the crawdads sing now where the Crawdad Singh wasn't a particularly good movie anywhere but it's hilariously unnecessary final plot twist basically seal the deal the story here follows kayam a young woman who raised herself to adulthood and is viewed suspicion by the locals especially when a local Star Quarterback Chase turns up dead and She's accused of his murder even acknowledging that chase attempted to assault Kaya were led to believe that she is effectively being set up to take the fall because of the Prejudice the local townsfolk called against her yet ultimately Kaya is found and not guilty at the end of the film with her lawyer Tom making it abundantly clear that these circumstances necessary for her to have killed Chase and just too damn contrived and ridiculous to make much sense and yet mere minutes later it's revealed that in fact Kaya did Kill Chase implying that everything we've just heard is pretty much how it actually did play out and yeah there's nothing quite like a film pointing out how ridiculously far-fetched a character's Revenge plot is before then you know confirming that it actually did just take place exactly like that number five amon's skateboarding Black Adam Black Adam is a perfectly beige vanilla superhero movie that was one actually forgotten about in record time it's a film that feels like a tripped and fell into 2022 straight out of the early 2000s right down to the inclusion of an annoying kid character on a skateboard after an expository opening sequence we're forced to then watch the movie's human protagonist that being teenager Amon Thomas scaling around the city for what feels like forever it immediately issued audiences that Black Adam was going to be one of those movies where a kid is pointlessly shoehorned into the action wherever possible to make younger viewers feel more connected to what's going on or something either way within hours of the film's release social media filled it with posts complaining about the quote Bart simpson-esque skateboarding kids whose flagrantly uncool prisons killed the otherwise promising Vibe of Dwayne Johnson playing a wildly overpowered anti-hero number four a child narrates a movie about strippers Magic Mike's last dance in the inserting a kid into a movie where they don't belong long sticks though Magic Mike's Last Dance has Black Adam beat this is truly one of the most bizarre movie sequels of recent times because rather than simply repeat its predecessor's entertaining formula Steven Soderberg tried to instead do something quite different the expected stripping is pushed to the back burner for most of the story which instead focuses on Mike heading to London to help a wealthy socialite maxandra Mendoza produce a stage player one which yes eventually does involve strippers yet the first sign of trouble comes in the movie's opening sequence which features a young girl narrating about the origins of dance a girl later revealed to be Max's daughter zeddy now zedi's narration returns a few times throughout the film and just feels warfully out of place here you know in an R-rated movie about strippers it was an early warning sign that Soderberg was up to something a little bit fishy and immediately got this hugely disappointing sequel off to a rough start number three Alma is a serial killer Alleluia the recently released drama film Alleluia based on Alan Bennett's 2018 player was marketed as a feel-good love letter to the UK's National Health Service centered around a geriatric ward in Yorkshire which faces closure due to Government funding Cuts yet despite releasing shortly after the nhs's 75th birthday the film takes a jaw-droppingly dark turn at the very end when it's revealed that head nurse sister Alma Gilpin is actually a serial killer who has been poisoning her most frail patients with morphine Alma is then arrested and jailed for life though argues that her act was a blessing because it allowed beds to be freed up for other patients needless to say the discourse surrounding the film was almost entirely concerned with the wildly out of nowhere twist with many feeling that its attempt to fly the flag for the NHS was wholly undermined by having this Central character be a murderous nurse the intent might have been Noble but the execution pardon the pun just didn't work at all number two cursed modak Ant-Man and the WASP Quantum Mania Ant-Man and the WASP quantumania was a crushing disappointment for many reasons though the point at which it's draw everything at the wall approach finally wore people out has to be the unmasking of modak shortly after the iconic comic book villain is introduced it's revealed that he's actually none other than Darren cross AKA yellowjacket from the very first Ant-Man rather than dying when Scott sabotaged his suit he survived and his proportionally warped remains were eventually discovered by Kang who gave him a robotic suit now the actual idea of this isn't bad at all but the moment modok removes his mask and we see actor Kari Still's uncanny valley CGI face squashed into the suit it kinda becomes impossible to take seriously even accepting that modok is a fundamentally ridiculous character between his hideous visual design and the running gag where everyone just calls him Darren it genuinely feels like somebody involved with the movie had a deep-seated hatred for the character 1. the killer reveal Scream Six scream 6's first two acts get so much right but ultimately it fumbled the bag big time in the third act when it came to revealing the identities of its ghost-faced Killers we learned that for the first time in the series there are actually three culprits this time around detective barely his daughter Quinn and Son Ethan now there are a number of underwhelming things about this reveal first off it's just incredibly obvious given that the killer has been dropping Legacy ghost face masks at all of their kill sites and who would have easier access to this than a cop so of course it's barely beyond that Quinn's fake out death earlier in the film is disappointingly transparent as the camera never focuses on her body after Ghostface supposedly kills her which caused many horror fans as BS detectors to immediately start going and while it was a little less obvious that Ethan was involved despite him conspicuously disappearing after saving Mindy the Trio's motives were also hugely deflating that's because it turns out that detective Bailey is actually the father of Richie one of the killers from the last film and so the familial Trio embarked on a Spate of killings out of Mia Revenge even accepting that scream 6 shamelessly echoed much of scream 2's narrative structure recycling its killer motive as well was just a step too far so that's our list wants to know what you guys think down in the comments below what did you think about these movie moments and are there any others that made
