how's it going people what message shown in today's video going through 10 exotic cars that have a bunch of presents for less than 35,000 pounds I don't think there's really an art to defining fully what presence is so let me know in the comments down below what does presence actually mean with the cars it's a very kind of sketchy concept to actually define this video of 10 cars rather than my usual 5 so slightly less detail per car but more cars more choice and they're all the kind of cars that I'm actually personally looking at for when I'm slightly wealthier into the not-too-distant future and can actually afford to own one of these but speaking of ownership remember that maintenance repairs insurance road tax all that good stuff is very important to remember I'll talk a little bit about the reliability of these cars in this video and don't forget that I'm in the UK so all the prices are from the UK market which seems slightly cheaper than a lot of other markets around the world remember to Like comment subscribe all that great stuff and without further ado let's get into the video [Music] up first we have the stunning Alfa Romeo 4c which is won numerous awards for its design it's one of my favourite cars in this list with its carbon fibre tub and ally rear subframe to keep weight to a minimum at just 895 kilograms which is actually less than my Mazda mx-5 and you get a lot more car with the 4c a 1.75 litre turbocharged inline-4 that puts out 236 brake horsepower 350 Newton meters of torque and does naught to 60 in just four point four seconds because of this low weight and small engine the fuel economy is noted as being pretty sick at 41 miles per gallon combined although you don't get power steering as Alfa decided it would add too much weight it's a very rare car with just 214 on launch edition models here in the UK and there you don't get the nice numbered plaque in one of these along with some of the other little trim bits it's essentially the same car just cheaper you can actually get a launch system for under 35,000 pounds though with around 30k on the clock but if you go for the standard you're looking at less than 20,000 miles into 2017 plate for this kind of money you might be worried about reliability in these given the badge but owners are generally very positive about it the clutch can overheat in slow traffic though so some people have had to replace these but other than that the only issue people really mention is the interior leather bubbling I've used this quote before from Jeremy Clarkson but I use it again he said I've never driven any mainstream Road car that generated quite such an outpouring of affection not ever next up we have the Lotus Evora s so I much prefer its development name which was project eagle it just sounds a lot more like a fighter jet or something the idea with this car is to expand from just track-focused cars into something that would appeal to a larger audience and be useful on the roads it kind of competed in the same class at the BMW i8 as a mid-engine 2+2 coupe a and that engine is the Toyota 3.5 liter v6 and the S model gives it a supercharged that takes the 345 brake horsepower and the not the 60 time of 4.5 seconds marginally slower than the 4c interestingly despite being Road focused rather than track focused there were still race versions of the car in GTE GT 4 and Super GT so it was still clearly a half-decent basis for race cars if you want to see the ins and outs of anaphora in more depth I highly recommend the beers for build series on it as I found it very interesting these prices Louis twenty-seven thousand pounds for a high-mileage example of a 35 grand you're looking at a model with around 30k on the clock that Toyota block has been heralded for its reliability - which is positive and the only real issue I could find relate to the air con pipes getting blocked bad radios and some electrical issues like windows not closing or doors not locking a couple of owners noted replacing clutches but not a common issue a great call from one of my favorite car manufacturers but it does fail to excite me like an exceed would another British sports car now the TV RT 350 which is based on the Samora and later form the basis for the Sagaris in fact when I see these I think of them as a baby sagres with the 3.6 litre inline-six passing out 350 brake horsepower referencing the name and managing nought to 60 in 4.4 seconds this speed 6 engine is used through many TVR cars including race cars so it's a proper piece of kit as always with TV ours is all about no-nonsense performance and it was designed for optimal downforce and minimal drag the interior is basic but with some mad colorways to keep you interested and if you find yourself on a German Autobahn owners have seen speed of up to 190 miles per hour despite it being officially quoted at 175 these are quite rare but your 35 grand you're looking at anywhere under 30,000 miles in the clock it's less reliability to be thinking about but more maintenance from what I could see online owners know you should have set aside around 1,500 pounds per year for maintaining the car and keeping it well serviced and have a rainy day fund of around 5 grand to handle any potential issues with a car that may arise doesn't help these engines are expensive in and of themselves so some owners have been known to LS swap these cars but I'm pretty sure you'll be ousted by the TV appearance community if you do that this list has so many of my favourite manufacturers and caused me 8350 is presents next up we have a car that seems to become more of a classic every minute the Porsche 911 996 turbo which hosts a water-cooled twin turbocharged and intercooled 3.6 liter flat 6 engine derived from the 1998 LeMans winning 911 gt1 race car it puts out 420 brake horsepower and 560 Newton meters of torque taking it from nought to 60 in 4.2 seconds and to a top speed of 189 miles per hour which is not bad for a car where the only problem people seem to have with it is the headlights and I say that because unreliability owners generally considered to be quite strong as well as tunable with the engine handling over 500 brake horsepower if you fancy it Porsche themselves even when this direction by releasing the x50 package was upgraded the turbos and intercoolers as well as a few other parts to get 444 brake horsepower out of it this is essentially the same as earning a 996 turbo s just without the carbon ceramic brakes the turbo is visibly wider than the standard 996 is to help the all-wheel drive system 18-inch wheels and tires and three radiators to fit into the car it also has the tell-tale rear wing in case their logo hadn't already de marked it as a turbo these are listed for a minimum of 28 thousand pounds for high mileage models over 35,000 pounds you're looking at around 60 to 80 K on the clock depending on condition but for a car of this prowess and classic potential you're laughing next up we have the first generation Audi r8 which in many people's minds the supercar of its time but either way it has a ton of presence wherever it goes it shares a lot of its development with the Lamborghini Gallardo - as VW Group decided both cars are going to share components between them to save money each one is a pause that over two seconds I've recently realized that 84.5% of you aren't subscribe so if you're not subscribed do consider doing so I get two videos out every week relates to cars and also go follow me on instagram at cars with j-b where I post every single day like you're missing out hit that subscribe button it's free if you're 35,000 pounds you'll be able to afford a 2008 model with around 40k on the clock folks in the 4.2 liter v8 engine putting out 423 brake horsepower and going from nought to 60 in 4.5 seconds and the minimum you'll spend is 30,000 pounds for a high mileage example the car was originally conceived as the LeMans quattro concept car back in 2003 before first production v8 arrives in 2006 all rates were not only seen on the kingsroad in London but also on track with the RA LMS in the gt3 European Championships as well as in the US but the sickest RA I've ever seen is the LMS ultra which is obviously a lot more than thirty five thousand pounds but worth sharing regardless for just how magnificent it looks unreliability there are a few noted issues but many are to do with build quality like frame cracking on older examples which Sam crack did a great job of showing some owners have also had bottom end bearing failures which aren't cheap to fix and clutches generally last around twenty thousand miles but some owners have been able to get warranties on second-hand Audi r8 with under 100k miles which is pretty sick it costs a couple of grand but worth it for peace of mind this is a car I actively want to own at some point in my life and hopefully we'll get there one day a much newer car starts at the top five for us now it's the BMW m4 the idea with this car was to split the 3-series coupe and convertible apart from the saloon in estate so you can think of the m4 as a two-door m3 to some degree it is a very well equipped car with its three litre twin-turbocharged inline 6 engine putting out 424 brake horsepower taking it from nought to 60 in 4.2 seconds as well as the carbon fibre roof boot lid and engine struts the lightweight forged alloy wheels carbon ceramic brakes as an option and a rogue one active sound which plays the sound of the engine into the car Keegan's is also the fact that the m4 comes with reasonably sized kidney grilles the car is also still uses BMWs competitor and DTM and it's still the kind of car that turns heads in road spec these are listed for his list as 22,000 pounds but for your 35 grand you'll get a 2017 model with around 20 to 30,000 miles in the clock the key benefit of buying one of these though is that when you look on the owners forums people are gassed about the reliability the amount of comments like 50,000 miles or mayhem for and still no issues yet would give you a lot of confidence compared to the e92 it's night and day on reliability it would seem so a very modern sports car with a fair amount of presents for your 35 grand I would just caution that there's probably some more depreciation to be had on these in fourth place is the Aston Martin db9 with its 5.9 liter v12 engine from a vanquish putting out 450 brake horsepower and getting to 60 in 4.7 seconds in a recent video I spoke about the v8 Vantage sublime looking car but it was the db9 which got its own fridge in the Top Gear cool wall thanks to the designers it shared with the Vantage Ian Callum and Henrik Fisker though it's exceeded the db7 Aston Martin didn't want people to think it had a v8 by calling it the deviate so they skipped that and went for the db9 instead in case you weren't aware DB stands for David Brown the owner of the company for many years if I ever start a car brand do you know I'm starting all the cars off with j-b for sure the interior is simple but luxurious fitting in with the grand tourer vibe and the exterior is meant to hog back to previous cars and the DB lineup but you can certainly get from the grille at least high mileage examples are listed for around 20,000 pounds about 10 grand cheaper than a signet but for 35,000 pounds you're looking at around 35 to 40 K on the clock and you can get a convertible for this kind of money too if you're that way inclined engine and gearbox failures are very rare but not unheard of in general that veto clock isn't tested at all by the weight of the car though most of the issues tend to be about build quality with owners noticing issues with malfunctioning radios and interior that needs a lot of upkeep and electrical issues like the engine management light coming on for no apparent reason don't forget is an aston martin which means it will come with hefty servicing bills all-in-all a stunning car that gets a lot of respect around the world for its badge in third we have a different type of exotic car apologies to many American viewers as these may be less of a deal to you but in the UK the Dodge Challenger srt8 is something you'll rarely see on the roads for 35,000 pounds you'll get your hands on a 2015 import with around 30k on the clock and 30 grand is about the minimum you'll find these for for that kind of cash are getting a six point four liter Hemi v8 putting out 470 brake horsepower to its rear wheels taking it from nought to 60 and 4.8 seconds and if you've ever heard or seen one of these you know it has presence if only because it's absolutely huge weighing in at almost 2,000 kilograms it's actually the third generation Challenger and has been in production since 2008 with many iterative changes year on year the engine block is revered for its reliability but it isn't known for being particularly tunable at least if you're planning to throw on a turbo or something similar apparently the block can take a real beating from standard but the tune has to be absolutely correct with a minimal amount of boost for it to remain problem-free a different kind of core to what I usually include in these videos modern muscle isn't my key area of knowledge but definitely a beast with an insane amount of presence in second we have a fan favorite the Nissan GTR which you can get for your thirty five thousand pounds in standard trim black edition or premium edition with around 40k on the clock with the minimum you'll spend being around thirty K for a high mileage example these are absolute beasts and anyone who just wants optimal performance for their money would want one of these 3.8 litre twin-turbocharged v6 pushing out four hundred seventy one brake horsepower imagine naught to 60 in just three point four seconds are they mad some owners even claim to hit sub three seconds to 60 this car is just nuts it's not all top speed though it's capable on track - with this all-wheel drive stability control and floating disc Brembo brakes it is excessive to the r34 skyline gt-r there isn't actually part of the skyline brand anymore and doesn't have the same level of iconic appeal as the r34 the car is released in different markets at very different times over the space of two years because Nissan had to build GTR performance sensors to service the cars it would be a bit weird if we turned up to get your Godzilla serviced next to a micro Litchfield attuning specialist for the GTR know it's one of the most reliable and sturdy performance cause I've ever worked with they recommends buying the newest model you can afford as the majority of issues come with the early models I'll leave a link in the description to a very useful page by them on it if anyone seriously interested in getting one of these definitely the car the clever person would buy from this list but let's see which car came in with the most brake horsepower taking the top spot with 542 brake horsepower is the Jaguar f-type R which gains its power from a supercharged five point litre v8 which gets it from nought to 60 in 4.1 seconds the art is also all-wheel drive which helps to reach 60 so quickly it's another Ian Callum design and the spiritual successor to the e-type but the car doesn't just have presence because of how it looks it's renowned for its insane sound [Music] [Music] [Music] the crazy pops and bangs you hear essentially come from excess fuel being squirted into the exhaust and exploding in there so not ideal for fuel economy but sounds pretty aggressive and gets people looking and it's not all show either you get 25 different driving modes thanks to the cars adaptive dampers and suspension settings as well as a retractable rear wing this car has depreciated massively over the past two years and probably has further to go so some proper deals are on the horizon thirty-five thousand pounds of Kaitlyn with around 35 to 40 K on the clock and the minimum you'll spend is around 33,000 pounds I've looked through owners for him to try and work out the reliability a slight oil leak is the only common problem I could find people know they absolutely thrash these around to get the pops and bangs at high revs though so might be worth waiting for some slightly less rash ones to depreciate further a beautiful car with an unreal sound which very much deserves a place on this list this video if you did make sure you hit the like button it would really help the video out matter thanks to our patrons as always and with a like comment subscribe all that great stuff and thank you very much for watching I'll see you in the next one [Music]
