plug-ins that you can get for mixing vocals in 2022 and how you can really get your vocals to stand out in the mix especially if you're doing this in a home studio environment [Music] so before we mixing and microphone comparison mixing and all of those kinds of things there's three plugins that are going to change the game for you when you're mixing your vocals the first plugin that we can have a look at that's really great for vocal mixing especially if you're starting out is voice centric and the reason i like this plug-in is because it already includes a delay a double and a reverb and you usually use this effect separately but to have a plug-in that gives you an input and levels and output and all of these effects on the side really makes it easy just to throw on a vocal and you really get an atmosphere and effect especially with other instruments already playing i also really like the presets of this plug-in especially if you don't understand the plug-in at first you can just pop on one of these presets and see which one fits best with your voice and your mix and usually the results are really really good let's have a listen to the before and after of how effective individual plugin but it's great if you just want to throw it onto a vocal get some effects happening and have a mood and then later on go into the finer details when you really want to get that detailed vocal mix just to give you an idea of how effective this plugin is i'm gonna go through the vocal and just switch between each fade and just show you exactly how much versatility you have you have filters compressors you have a beautiful eq that helps you get detail when it comes to getting your song to stand out in a mix and it's really just one of the best plugins to go for if you want to get great sounding vocals the presets that you get with this plugin as well is also just fantastic you can use it for way more than just vocals as well but you have so many options here especially if you don't understand all the knobs it's great to just pick a preset and go from there stuck in situations always gotta be the one to lie just another location same lines i say i saw the out of the mix before you worry about reverb and delay and really the detail of the eq with this ssle channel is just amazing now the next plugin that we can have a look at is maybe more of a tool for music production and vocal production instead of mixing but it's definitely a tool that you can use to get your vocal to have a little bit more foundation and just support the lead vocal and that plug-in is ovox just to give you guys an idea of what this plugin can do [Music] as you can hear this plugin has some of the craziest features but the reason i like it for vocal mixing is just to add definitely a super creative plugin for vocals the next plugin that we can have a look at that i use a lot when it comes to vocal recording is waves vocal rider and this plugin just helps get a better overall balance throughout your entire vocal where you have parts that are maybe too loud or positive or too soft it just brings those together and kind of acts like a compressor but it doesn't add any saturation or coloration so it's just helping the levels and getting a constant level throughout the entire vocal and on this specific plugin i have it set between 3 db and -3 db so we have about a 6 db range of just this fader jumping in between and just getting us that constant level that we really want throughout our vocal turn up the music and just let it play i might have to say i'm sorry all it's doing is just getting us better sounding levels for a more consistent vocal now the next plugin that we're gonna have a look at is a plug-in that i use in most of my vocal mixes and that is h delay and this plugin has so many features delay feedback drying weight output analog filters modulation and the simple thing i love about this plug-in that's so so good compared to other delay plug-ins is the ping-pong effect i like to have that bounce between the headphones and with this specific vocal you'll hear what a big difference this ping pong effect really has take me away to a definitely doesn't sound as dead as it would without it now we move on to the last three waves plugins that i like to use for vocal mixing and one of those plugins is the h reverb this reverb plugin is really cool with your reverb time in the middle here you have your pre-delay build up size your tail your dry weight your output and the presets you also get with this plugin is really really nice as well especially if you're starting out you don't understand the plugin at first you can just pick one of these and see which one fits your vocal based and the rest of your mix very well take me make it sound a lot bigger the second last plugin that i like to use for all my vocal mixing that's really simple but very effective is the cla2a compressor from waves and this plugin is really simple it just has a gain and peak reduction but when it comes to getting your vocal to stand out in the mix you just pop this on you pick a cool preset you go from there and it makes such a big difference so simple it really makes your vocals stand out the final plugin that we can have a look at is another versatile plugin with so many cool features that i think is awesome for those of you starting out looking to get one plugin that can do a lot and a plugin that i am talking about is the jjp vocals which includes so many features from a dslr compressor highs in those kind of eq sensitivity you can even pick it for a male male 2 or female style vocal and also quite a few presets here just a cool plugin with a lot of features that is that one kind of plugin you throw on a vocal and it's doing a
