goodness of god i thought about when i met milt he was a single man i don't know what your job was you probably were in school but today you're married three beautiful children you're on staff at the church look what job is and you're living in a beautiful home hallelujah driving a car that's paid for glory to god hallelujah praise god praise god god is no respecter person he gave milt a job he gave mill to wife he gave male children he gave him everything he has and it's blessed and god will do the same thing for you i don't know what you're believing god for today but i'm telling you you're in a place where you can get a hold of faith and your faith will bring the impossibles into your life hallelujah god glory to god you got anything else you got anything else you good you're blessings flow hallelujah hallelujah glory to god blessings are flowing here at seeds of greatness bible church and we're so thankful and so grateful turn to your neighbor give a virtual hug and then you may be seated praise god hallelujah praise god isn't it wonderful when the body of christ comes together and we we each bring our supply of the spirit the appraisers the band the uh the sound the the hostess everyone on the ministry of helps and you sitting in this congregation we all bring our supply of the spirit together and in his presence his fullness of joy and in his phrase this is where he manifests himself and i don't know about you but i want god manifested in my life hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah for the lord is good hallelujah praise god well we're so happy that you have made a great decision today to come to the house of god it says there in hebrews that when you see the day of his approaching coming you should join yourselves together more so so not so you can talk about the woes in the world but you can encourage one another i tell you the bible says when darkness is all around that the glory of the lord is going to rise up in his church and we believe that a great harvest is coming because god is going to manifest himself with signs and wonders i've heard it said it's going to exceed what happened in the book of acts now it was pretty great in the book of acts they raised some dead people they healed some people they got all cities turned upside down for jesus while we're going to turn this world upside down for jesus amen amen because we're the only ones that have the message of hope we're the only ones that have a message that you're going to rise up out of this out of this earth one day and we're going to meet him in the air there's going to be a meeting in the air hallelujah you we've met at seeds of greatness well we're going to meet in the air glory to god with the body of christ hallelujah praise god as you can tell pastor jerome is not here and i'm not telling you anything you know why because he didn't tell me to tell you and i learned a long time ago jesus said i only do what my father says well reverend edwards only does what pastor jerome says amen and that's why i've worked with him all these years hallelujah you know pastor's been teaching us on faith uh two or three weeks last week was wonderful presumptuous faith amen it was absolutely wonderful i tell you you can preach faith every sunday and i'd be a happy old camper i love faith faith is what brought me out and and put me in my wealthy place you know i was telling you about milt when i met him he didn't have a home well it reminded me of my own situation my parents never earned a home and by the time i was 20 i had lived in seven different homes but god god has blessed rick and i with five houses and oh and 49 years of marriage and two of them were paid off before the time any good and won't he do it for you i tell you that's why we we share what god has done for us so that you can get a bigger vision you know why it doesn't bother god if you want to believe for a million dollar house in fact it pleases god that you think he could do it amen so dream big speak big but make sure it's based on the word of god so pastor did tell me to continue teaching on faith and so today i'm going to the title of my message is the birth of faith and the sight of faith first john 5 4 of the nlt says for every child that includes each and every person here for every child of god defeats this evil world i tell you i like that to me that's good news i can defeat everything that's in this world and it goes on to say and we achieve this victory through our faith the only way you're going to have victory the only way you're going to be an overcomer if you walk in faith so let me tell you what faith is out of the bible in hebrews 11 1 the passion translation says i know we know what the king james says now faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen but i really like the passion it says now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for so faith is your foundation faith i like to say faith in and the word i've got to fly up here glory to god hallelujah praise god um i'll tell you i've been stopping deer in my yard and i can surely stop a fly amen amen i'll tell you the other day this deer was trying to eat off my bush and i stomped my or hit my window is what i did and he looked up at me and i said you better get out of here and rick is my witness he slowly turned around and he walked on out we just laughed i said exercise authority over deer amen hallelujah amen we can have victory over deal praise god but this this um passion translation says now faith is now faith brings faith is not it's going to happen faith is not you know one of these days faith has to be now now you believe god's word is true in your life now you believe you're healed not going to be you got it we say this in healing school you've got to believe you got it before you got it and that's not always easy when your body's shouting out in pain and you're you say i'm healed i'm healed and your symptoms are saying no you're not but god's word and god's word has to be the final authority in your life i know a few years ago i was believing god i was believing believing i didn't believe i was healed i was believing for healing and the lord said to me what you're praying for that's in your past so i don't know what you're praying about but you believe that you have received and then you shall have but you got to believe you got it before you got it and i'm going to tell you that's going to take some time that's going to take some renewing of the mind it's going to take some meditation to believe you've got that new job and you don't have it but the eye of faith says i have that new job in fact i think i'll buy a new briefcase i think i'm just going to drive around to to this parking lot rink did that for for several months when he was in between jobs his company was sold and he was without a job and he'd get up every morning through his devotions he he'd shave put his suit on it's high and he'd go from new jersey to delaware and sit in this parking lot and call forth a job do you know what he got a better job than the parking lot he was sitting in hallelujah and god will do that whatever what what did mary say or jesus said to the to the men with the water pots whatever he tells you i think he was buried whatever jesus tells you do it and jesus said go fill those six water pots and it turned into wine hallelujah so whatever god tells you to do you say well god's not told me anything then don't do anything don't move until god tells you something to do to release your faith if you'll just stay connected to god connected to the word god's going to tell you some things to do that might sound a little crazy and a little strange but guess what god always comes through for those that walk by faith so we how do you get faith we know romans 10 17 says so then faith cometh how's it come is coming to you right now as i'm teaching you it says to them faith comes by hearing and by hearing the word of god i like what the the passion bible says it says faith then is birthed in the spirit and that's what i'm teaching there has to be a birth of faith before you can have the sight of faith and so many times people are believing and they've not even given birth they don't have they've not conceived the seed of the word of god in their spirit because once you conceive that word then it will grow up and your faith will turn into sight hallelujah praise god so let's talk about the birth of faith turn if you will in your bibles over to um hebrews 12 2. and i'm not going to read the whole scripture i'm just pulling out a portion to you here in hebrews 12 2 praise god hebrews 12 2 and the king james and i'm going to read it to you out of different translations but it says jesus he's the author and he's the finisher of your faith so that means jesus will birth that faith on the inside of you is you're in the word of god and then god will bring it to pass as you hold fast to your confession of faith and don't let it go the nlt says jesus he's the champion who initiates and perfects our faith so jesus through his word will initiate a scripture a word in your spirit and then you will bring it to pass over time in the um uh the contemporary english version it says jesus who leads us and he makes our faith complete the amplified uh version says jesus who is the leader and the source of faith giving the first incentive for our belief and is also its finisher bringing it to maturity and perfection and finally the trans of the passion translation said jesus who birth faith within us jesus birth faith within us when we hear the word of god and and he's also the one who leads us forward into faith perfection or completion and and god doesn't want you just having a seed of faith but he's wanting this seed on the inside of you to come to the completion and i believe by the end of this teaching you'll have a greater understanding of faith i want to talk to you about the father faith abram who later became abraham in genesis 12 1-3 we see the first time that god appears to abram and he tells abram get out of your country leave your family go to a place that i'm going to show you you've never seen this place it i'm just going to lead you now that takes faith doesn't it that takes faith for you to leave your country can you imagine leaving your country united states of america and and you're going to leave your country you're going to leave your family take your wife and you're gonna go to a city that you've never seen or heard of but that's what abram did he left it and and because of his obedience there were promises that god would make his name great and famous that he would be a blessing he would achieve blessings and he would be a blessing and nations would come out of him so we see that abraham did that the only thing is abram didn't know it's going to take 25 years for it to all come to pass aren't you glad sometimes you don't know some things but all abram did was he kept walking and obeying god got off into some disobedience went some ways that he should have done but it was about 12 years later and abram and sarah have no child and they're getting older when god first appeared to abram he was 75 years old and his wife was 65. now they're 85 and they're 75 and they have no child and in the natural it looks like it's never going to come to pass so what did the abram and his wife sarah did they got impatient they got impatient you know what when you get impatient you do some stupid things anybody ever done something stupid because you were impatient well what's that i want it now i want it now we act like little children i want it now i want it now but here it's been 12 years and they're without a child so sarah gets an idea i'll tell you better watch out for some of them sarah ideas because they'll get you in big trouble right and you also better watch out for some of them abram ideas because abram went right along with his wife the two of them made a stupid choice and you know that uh sarai she gave uh her servant hagar to abram and they had a child but it wasn't the promised child that god had promised them and as a result it caused a lot of problems and then finally we go to um genesis 17 well let me go back in in genesis 15 1-6 god appears to abram again with an anointed word and he and he says let me read that to you because it's so good it is so good genesis 15. i'm going to read it to you out of the amplified it says now after these things the word of the lord came to abram in a vision saying fear not abram i am your shield your abundant compensation and your reward shall be exceedingly great god quickened this verse to me back on october 2000 he said to us fear not i'm your shield i'm your abundant compensation and your reward will be exceedingly great and i can't tell you all the good good good things that god has done in our lives over the past 21 years god's done great things and so abram says back to the lord god what can you give me since i am going on from this world childless god's promised a child but he doesn't see himself with this promised child he sees himself childless he sees himself without the fulfillment of the promise so then it goes on to say and he uh and he says i just got the story stored in my house by the name of eliezer and um abram continues and he says look you have given me no child but god's word was you are and let's go on here and and he says the lord came the word of the lord came to him saying this man shall not this ishmael shall not be your heir but he who shall come forth from your own body shall be your heir and then he did something with abraham he got him out of his tent sometimes you've got to get out of that state of depression and you got to get yourself in a faith-filled church you got to get yourself in the word and so he takes abram out and he says now look up at the stars you think your child let's look at these stars you're going to have so many children abram that you're not going to be able to count them all and don't you know it was a very short time after that that abram and sarai got a name changed god changed their names when they were 99 and 89. you know the story abram became abraham father of of many nations and sarah became sarah the mother of many nations do you know why abraham had over 300 servants and they would always call him abram he had to tell all 300 servants no that's not my name anymore my name is abraham and i'm a father of many nations now let me read this to you out of the message bible this is in romans 4. i love romans 4. in romans 4 it says in verses 17 through 18. we we call abraham father not because he got god's attention by living like a saint but because god made something out of abraham when he was a nobody isn't that what we've always read in the scripture god saying to abraham i set you up as father of many peoples abraham was first named father first named father and then he became a father your name's healed are you healed your name is victorious are you victorious you've got to call yourself the way the bible calls you more than a conqueror and this is what god did with abraham god made something out of nobody he's god said i have set you up as father of many peoples abraham was first named father and then he became a father because he dared to trust god to do what only god could do raise the dead to life hallelujah with a word make something out of nothing i've done that many times i'm sure you have you called for a husband and guess what a husband showed up or you called for a wife and a wife showed up you call things that be not as though they were because the bible says faith is now not going to be not coming down the pike faith is now you got to believe you got it before you got it it goes on to say when everything was hopeless you ever been in that situation everything looks hopeless but abraham believed anyway deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn't do but on what god said he would do and so he was made a father of multitude of peoples and god himself said to him you're going to have a big family abraham hallelujah and getting ready for big y'all getting ready for big amen that sounds a little better getting ready for big hallelujah we got to get ready for big because we serve a big god and god's wanting people that will step out on his word and possess his promises so we see that the birth of faith came when god spoke the anointed word to abraham and the same thing is going to happen to you you know yes you can go to your bible and you can pick out a scripture but it it is so easy to believe when god quickens something on the inside of you an anointed word it has to be an anointed word sometimes when pastor's preaching he'll say something and i write it down i put stars all around it because when i go home i want to i want to make sure that i keep that word before me that's an anointed word sometimes you read along in your bible and there's a scripture it just burns on the inside of you when you read that scripture and and that's what god does there there's a quickening there there's a knowing on the inside that this verse is just for you and then you keep that word before you you keep it before you that's the birth of faith it's not going in a promise book or a box and picking out a promise know it's you getting in the book and god will quicken scriptures and words to you sometimes it's a word sometimes it's a phrase sometimes it's a scripture that is a word for you and you must grab hold of that with your spirit and not let it go until you have the sight of it that's what an anointed word is you need to write the word down write things keep a journal however you like to to keep the words that the lord gives to you with your notes but write it down and read it and read it and read it i'm still reading a prophetic word that was given to me in 1983 and you know what i didn't see that come to pass until after it came to seeds of greatness that's how long it took for that word to come to pass in my life but i wouldn't let it go i just wouldn't let it go and like abraham you can't let things go when things aren't going the way you think they should do that's what faith is all about is grabbing hold of the word and not letting it go seeing it to completion so once you um once you get a word from the lord in fact sometimes you're not sure sometimes you just need someone to judge it like pastor or the spiritual leaders in the church you need to know that and uh because you don't want to get off in the ditch and that's what satan's wanting you to do is to get off and god is wanting to keep you on the path of life and like i said it's usually not a a lengthy thing it could just be just a few words some time ago pastor asked me to speak with someone in the church they had gotten a word from the lord back in the early 70s and it was six pages long and i read that word pastor knew it i knew it it wasn't from god and you have to be very careful when when you judge it you don't want to hurt people you don't want to hurt their faith but there are some times what you have gotten just because you go into a church service she she was from another state had gone to another state went to this meeting and there was a whole bunch of words just being given out you got to try the spirits you got to test the spirits to see they if they are of god because you could be down the wrong path and end up making shipwreck of your life so when you get this anointed word from the lord it needs to be watered and it needs to be fed and the way you water it and feed it is through confessing the word through meditation i like what dr bill winston says he says meditate until you revelate and sometimes that takes up quite a bit of time you're going to have to meditate you're going to have to confess it you're going to have to do some memorizing and also praise and worship is an excellent way to water it and number three you need to value the word you've got to value what god gave you if i get something in the middle of the night i write it down because sometimes i thought oh i'll get it in the morning do you know i don't so at that moment i keep a paper and pen by my nightstand and glasses so that if i get something from the lord i'm going to write it down because it's a word from god almighty why wouldn't i treasure this word it's a great word coming from the heart of god and and i need to value it i uh and you also need to guard that word don't share it with just everybody don't cast your pearls before slime not everybody can handle where you're going and you want to make sure and be led by the holy spirit who you share it with i like what habakkuk 2 2 and 3 says in the nlt it says write my answer plainly on tablets this vision or anointed word from god is for a future time it describes the end and it will be fulfilled if it seems slow and coming wait patiently for it will surely take place it will not be delayed let me read that to you out of the message bible you see when a woman receives seed from a man she just does it the next week give birth to a child there's a process and pastor talked about this last week there's a process to faith there is seed there is time and then there is harvest but you got to get the seed right because you're never going to bring it to completion this word in habakkuk in the message bible says it says and then god answered he said write this write what you see write it out in big block letters in other words put highlights you know put your stars write it out and it goes on to say this vision message is a witness pointing to what's coming for you it aches for the coming it can hardly wait and it doesn't lie if it seems slow in coming wait it's on its way and it will come right on time i know some of you ladies have been pregnant i have had two and i'll tell you those last few weeks you want it now you don't want to wait but if you want that baby perfectly formed and developed you wait you don't want to deliver things prematurely because possibly there will be a death involved so you want to wait on god's timing now i want to talk to you about the trial of your faith we talked about the birth of faith now there's a trial where your faith is concerned and you know the scripture there in psalms i think it's 37 it says the steps of a good man are ordered of the lord and i like what romans 8 um romans 8 28 it says um it's right there it's right there all things work together for good to those who love the lord and are called according to his purpose i like what the voice translation it says it says that we are confident that god is orchestrating everything towards something good and beautiful when we love him and accept his plan you know i thought about that word orchestrating you know usually in an orchestra there could be up to 100 people more lots of pieces coming together for a beautiful sound and that's the way it is with your life there may be lots of pieces you you know in part but you don't see everything but if you will wait and be patient and wait on the lord it will come to pass when god wants it to come to pass hallelujah let's turn to uh john 16 33. i want to read this to you out of the amplified this is jesus talking here in john 16 the very last chapter and it's right before he's going to the cross he says i have told you these things so that in me you may have perfect peace and confidence that is one thing that you've got to keep your peace when you're walking by faith keep your peace the devil does is trying to steal your peace he's after your peace and he's after your joy don't give up your peace and your joy because when you do you're on the devil's territory so keep yourself in peace and confidence it says in the world you have tribulation you have trials you have distress and frustration you know brother keith moore said one time god said to him frustration is not faith when you're frustrated you're not in faith you're not looking to jesus you're looking at your circumstances so he goes on to say but be of good cheer take courage be strong be courageous and be confident be certain undaunted for i have overcome the world i have overcome the world and if he lives on the inside of us we always overcome the world and then he says i have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you hallelujah so he says trials tests tribulations they're going to come and you know what happens when they come it's going to show if you have genuine faith or you have fake faith and so i thought about a diamond i have a real diamond on my finger right now that my husband gave me but i also have a fake diamond it's five carats from qvc cost me about fifty dollars do you know when we were in the uh church there on quigley boulevard i wore it one sunday and i was praising god praising god and someone sat behind me and after church they said did you get a new ring i said no it's a qvc ring but is your faith genuine genuine when the heat is on what do you do do you give up run or do you stay in the furnace knowing that god's going to deliver you just like he did the three hebrew sons so i want to read to you how a diamond is tested to see if it's real or not this is a first for me but i'm going to do it do something never done before right it says diamonds are made of incredibly strong material and will be unresponsive to high heat a diamond will not respond to high heat goes on to say to test this grab a drinking glass fill it with cold water use a set of pliers or fire proof gloves to hold the stone heat the stone with a lighter for approximately 40 seconds then drop the stone directly into the cold water if it shatters when you're in a a fiery trial you're going to shatter or you're going to withstand the heat it goes on to say if if the stone shatters it is made of weaker components and is not a real diamond a true diamond will show no reaction to heat that's how you can tell if your faith is genuine or if it's fake what do you do when the heat is on and i'm gonna tell you i know some of you been in some heat and god's about ready to bring you into a wealthy place but you gotta stay fixed and firm and i thought about this um scripture that we've shared before in in proverbs that word shatter are we going to be shattered god doesn't want us shattered he wants us to be strong immovable always abounding in the work of the lord and proverbs uh 24 10 the king james says if you faint or if you shatter in the day of adversity your strength is small and you have no joy the message bible says if you fall to pieces and crisis there wasn't much to you in the first place this separates the believers and the non-believers i'm telling you it's not an easy thing to do there will be many times you want to quit but you just stay firm fixed in the word if the word the seed is your foundation you will stand firm but if it's just something that you made up yourself it may shatter so there will always be a temptation to quit but if you but if you won't then you receive the blessing that's what keeps me going it's the end i'm not concerned yes i want the beginning i want the seat what happens in this middle what happens in this time has nothing to do with god's word you've got to see it all the way through and possess the promises in hebrews 10 35 36 and 38 it says do not therefore fling away your fearless confidence for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward for you have need of steadfast patience and endurance so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of god and thus receive and carry away and enjoy to the full what is promised but the just shall live by faith if he if he draws back and shrinks in fear my soul has no delight or pleasure in him if you want to please your father you have to walk by faith it says it's impossible to please god without faith and we must develop a strong spirit if we're going to sustain the trials and temptations and everything that the devil brings against you you build a strong spirit by being in the word every day every day every day you're doing push-ups in the work where it's happening you're becoming stronger in your spirit you do that in the natural you become stronger so you're always in that word you're always speaking the word it's the center of your life little word little results much word much results and god is wanting his people to have results when you hear the word of god you've got to mix it with faith that was the problem with the hebrew nation and in hebrews 4 2 it says but the word preached to them it didn't profit them not being mixed with faith in them that hurt it so you always want to check up am i in faith what am i what am i believing for and what is my foundation for what i'm believing god for and we see faith and patience they will work together they're they're power twins you're gonna have to patience is the ability to hold yourself calm in the midst of adversity don't lose your mind people in the world lose their minds but born again christians filled with the word of god filled with faith should not be losing their minds they should be possessing their souls according to the word of god and another thing that you need to do when you're in this period of time is you need to wait on the lord when you wait on the lord you become one with god thus waiting is not just folding your arms and tapping your foot no you're busy becoming one with the lord it also means to be entwined just like rope you know those ropes are all those threads a thread by itself is not strong but you put all those threads together and you're not going to be able to break that rope and that's how you need to be with god you need to be wrapped up with god in the word of god it also means to be woven and braided so that you can walk with god and not grow weary there a lot of people today in this world are get getting worried and weary because they are looking at things that are coming on this earth and you look at the word this one word i keep hearing about the world chaos chaos i've never heard this word so much as i have in this last year it's the word chaos but you know what when the world's in chaos we should be in peace because we know the beginning to the end hallelujah and our end is glorious we can't be slowful we can't grow disinterested and become spiritual sluggers but we must follow them who through faith and patience inherit the promises noah waited over a hundred years for his promise abraham and sarah waited over 25 years for their promise and joshua and caleb waited over 40 years for their promise because of other people they were in faith the whole time in faith the whole time but they couldn't go in because of the dis unbelief of their fellow hebrews people so it tells us in psalms 37 32 verse 7 in the passion translation lord you are my hiding place i'll tell you my favorite place to pray is in my office with covers over my head i make a tent in that bed and at my office i just love that because i shut out everything i just shut out everything it says lord you are my secret hiding place protecting me from these troubles god's going to protect you and then it goes on to say surrounding me with songs of gladness the king james says songs of deliverance and the passion it finishes your joyful shouts of rescue release your breakthrough praise will open up doors it will give you a breakthrough now i want to close with your faith will turn into sight i could spend lots and lots more times but i'm just i'm giving you this in about 45 minutes today says your faith will turn into sight it reminded me of a song again it was an anointed word and this song has stayed with me for probably 20 years but it's a song by brother keith and i'm not going to give you the whole thing and i'm not going to sing it praise god my husband's saying glory to god i know one of these days he thinks i'm just going to break loose and burst out in song and dance across this platform but i'm not today i'm a whole myself hallelujah but this song is called hold on and it says hold on hold on keep believing be strong and a little while it's going to be all right hold on hold on and it won't be too long until your faith will turn into sight that's where i got that phrase turn into sight it goes on to say you can give up today and cast your confidence and wonder where you went wrong though dark may be the night and hard may be the fight you will win if you just hold on and then it says there's no reason to fear when the answer is so near you know it's always dark before the dawn and then it goes on hold on hold on keep believing be strong in a little while it's going to be all right hold on hold on and it won't be too long before your face will turn into sight hallelujah hallelujah and this uh i'll be ending with this i am i want to tell you we've owned five houses and um in in the late 2000s i started believing god for the fifth house i'm not so sure rick was with me but he was coming along to look at the houses with me but we had just had our our first grandchild and they lived in new jersey and we were half an hour from the church and we were coming down for sundays tuesdays wednesdays thursday and sometimes on a on a friday or saturday it just seemed like we were on the road a lot and i wanted to be closer to my grandchild i want to be closer to the church and so we started believing well nothing happened for about nine years nine years and in the ninth year it was in february 2017. i can tell you the road i was on i can show you the place that the car was going past when the lord gave me this word and he said to me get a post office box in delaware now that was an anointed word and it birthed something in me and it told me that i was getting close and i grabbed hold of that and i told rick and rick said yeah we could do that and when we went to the post office we found out it was cost us a hundred dollars do you know what we laid that hundred dollars on that counter because i knew god was in this it didn't bother me one bit so we're believing god and we and we got we went to the post office of the zip code that we wanted our house to be in we had we had a post office box in hokkasen which was five minutes from our house but that one where we wanted to live in hokkaisen we had another area that we had mapped out that we felt that it would give us access to every place we wanted to be and so that's what we were believing for we found two neighborhoods one i like the other one rick liked but either one we like both of them and so what happened in april it's a tuesday morning and and i'm getting ready for healing school and i look online and i see there's a house for sale in the neighborhood i like oh my heart started us oh glory glory glory glory we got the post office box up we're going to get the house glory glory glory well i called and i because i need to be down here at noon i said i could be there at 11 because i knew it wouldn't take me that long to walk through your house so i meet the realtor and this realtor has worked with us the whole time we were believing god and she's a godly woman and so anyway um walk through the hou i walk in the house and i start crying but you know why tears isn't an anointed word from god it's your emotions the house was beautiful a woman had bought it and then she put 150 000 dollars of upgrades and it was a beautiful house it was beautiful i called rick i said rick you got to see this house he says what's wrong why are you crying i said it's just so beautiful rick it's just so beautiful so anyway we make it he said i can go at 6 30. so okay so i tell our realtor she makes an appointment and rick's walking around the house he said yeah this is a beautiful house honey it's beautiful house we sit down in the living room with a realtor and she says somebody came in at ten o'clock and they put an offer on the house oh glory to god and i didn't have a word from the lord that is my house it's a beautiful house i cried when i walked in thought it was but the lord didn't say this is your house so i make a long story short we didn't get the house the other people got the house and so a few days later i had some i had some time and i sat down on the floor in my office and i had my books and you know everything around me and i said god i want to know what happened why didn't we get that house and this is what he said to me and i'm saying it to you too if you ask me for bread will i give you a stone i can digest bread i can't digest a stone in fact a stone can kill you and sometimes we settle for stones when we could be having bread you know it takes time for bread to rise it takes time for bread to bake it takes a cooling time before you can eat that fresh loaf of bread and i said okay god i took i knew that was a word from the lord i knew it was the word and i knew i had to cheer up and get myself happy so i said god what should i do and this is i've never had this kind of going back conversation with the lord before and then he says to me sing and i'm saying lord what song do you want me to sing and he told me it's a jensen franklin song i sing praises to my lord i played that song every morning in fact i'm still there's hardly a day goes by that i don't play that song it doesn't get old and there's another song that i play and i found this out just a few months before we got the post office box and that's the one by travis green made away those two songs and i've added the third one recently wait on the lord those songs will get you through some tough tough times so anyway we you know i begin to sing and begin to praise god and you know what this was april nothing happened in 2017 and by this time the devil's saying why don't you just buy any old house in delaware and be satisfied and you know what you've waited the song and you almost think just buy a house well we went to some other neighborhoods and we felt absolutely nothing this isn't where we're to be so we came back to where we wanted to be right around the neighborhoods so anyway it was the last monday of february and it was about 6 30 at night and i was getting dinner or we'd finished dinner and i got a call from a realtor and she says she says show that a house has just gone on the market i'm in north wilmington i can meet you at the house so she gave me the address and we went i'm gonna tell you we opened the door and it was cigarette smoke coming out that door and we walked around the whole house and it needed a total gut job and then the realtor she that was listing the house she was she was there and she says i live in this neighborhood i'd like you to come back to my house and see what a nice finished house looks like in this neighborhood well you know by this time it's like 7 30 8 o'clock i don't want to go see her house but you know to be kind to her we went and then she says i'd like for you to come back tomorrow when you could see it in the light i'm thinking okay my realtor couldn't come it was the last day of the month and she had three closings but the other listing agent she said i can meet you there so after healing school i go meet this woman and i didn't like it any better in the light than i did and so so this was tuesday and we needed to give an answer are we going to go at this house or not and so rick and i had been down to uh uh our power and prayer meeting and we're like what are we going to do what do we want gut job who do we know who can help us blah blah blah and i can remember we pulled up in that driveway and the lord said to me is it a stone or is it bread and i said god it's a stone and i knew and so the next day we called and we said we don't want that house but little did we know the next week the listing agent who i was being so nice to see you never know you never know she said i've got another house in the neighborhood and she says it's not gone on the market but i want to offer it to your clients first is that favor that's the favor of god walked in that house and knew that that was the house that god had for us but you know what we waited 10 years shanita and wayne they they just got another house they waited they waited they said nine years the arnolds they waited 11 years do you know i heard this a long time ago and i believe it's true if if you believe big be prepared to wait long and i thought about pastor jerome he waited over 20 years to pastor a church and then he waited another 13 years for it to be built is this big it's me pastor wanted big and he was prepared to wait long for it and that's what we have to do we have to be prepared we you want what is if i was to ask you today name three things you're believing for and what's your foundation what's your scripture what word did you get would you be able to tell me i had a woman years ago wasn't even in this church she came up and i said what would you like prayer for she says well my finances need help in my finances i said are you a tither i said oh i said what scriptures are you believing and she she fumbled and mumbled and never did come up with a scripture she was not in faith with her finances she couldn't give me one scripture concerning her finances so you need you need to have a foundation which is based on the word of god uh the either the rhema word which is your bible or the law goes which is the spoken word and you know it's god because it stays with you i've had worse for the lord than stay with me while this one that i got in 1983 i had pastor judge it and pastor said this is right you know what it talked about it talked about me laying hands on sick and being involved in healing and deliverance i didn't see that come to pass until 10 years ago i waited from 1983. what was god doing he was developing character in me he was developing maturity in me so when i got to a place i was able to hold it i was able to handle it some of you if you got something so big you might not be able to hold it you have to have your faith grow and as it grows then you're able to handle i know we all want our faith turned into sight i do i'm believing god for some things right now abraham and sarah waited 25 years joshua and kale 40. rahab her faith was turned into sight the three hebrew hebrew boys their faith was turned into sight daniel's faith was turned into sight in that lion's den jesus faith was turned into sight when he fed the five thousand the woman with the issue of blood her faith was turned into sight the blind man faith turned into sight centurion turned into sight the man that was let down by the ropes through the rooftop faith turned into sight and jerry's faith was turned into sight when his daughter was dead and jesus said don't be afraid only believe and he kept the switch of faith on and when he got to that house and jesus went in that bedroom he spoke to that child and said rise up rise up what about you i know you all once your faith turned into sight and what i'll say is hold on hold on hold on to your confession of faith without wavering because god is faithful hallelujah would you stand to your feet glory to god glory to god hallelujah praise god let me pray over you and then we have rick and jerome jr and then we have ms trina they're going to close the service out let's pray lift your hands to god and lift up your faith lift up what you're believing god for father i thank you for your word today that you have given to me i believe that it's been an on time word and i believe that your people hear the word today and they do the word and they put action to their faith father because you said without corresponding actions your faith is dead and as you initiate our actions may we be obedient like abraham was and left his country and his family and he got everything that was promised to him and i believe right now father that you are speaking to the hearts of those that are hearing us today those that are online those that are here and you are giving the wisdom that they need so that their faith can turn into sight hallelujah hallelujah you may be seated praise god for his goodness hallelujah praise god i got stuff glory to god i need this song we get the opportunity to worship god with our ties and offerings this morning bless god matthew 6 33 says that we need to seek after the kingdom of god first and then we'll see all of these things be added unto us what are all these things basic needs of life clothes drink food housing all of those things will be added to us if we seek him first in his kingdom but i know i've been stiff-necked at times how about you the israelites were called stiff-necked and they bucked against god several times but i want to show you one example and it relates directly to this verse haggai verse one i'm sorry chapter one starting with verse 5. i'm going to read it out of the amplified bible now therefore thus says the lord of hosts consider your ways and set your mind on what has come to you you have sown much but you have reaped little you eat but you do not have enough you drink but you do not have your fill you clothe yourselves but no one is warm and he who earns wages has earned them to put them in a bag with holes in it thus says the lord of hosts consider your ways this scripture is taken out of a passage that talks about the israelites ignoring the command of god to rebuild his temple to put their resources toward rebuilding their temple and they'd prefer to sit in their nice homes and deal with the issues of life and he's telling them here that even though that's what their focus is they're not meeting their needs and it's going through holes as though it's in a container with holes in it and hasn't that happened to you in your household it has in mind it seemed like we were doing everything we could do and things just were not getting accomplished the way that i felt that they should every year when i did tax returns i'd look at what we made during the year and the taxes that we paid and so forth and i'd look at what we had physically and i'd say where did it go it was like having a container with holes in it but we have a better promise as through abraham who sherlock talked about malachi 3 10 says that will he not open the windows of heaven so that the blessings will flow and we will not be able to contain them that doesn't mean that they're flowing into a container that has holes in them that means it's overflowing with blessings so it's a completely different kind of a container we're also told in deuteronomy that god said he would teach us to prosper and to build wealth if we focus on the kingdom of god first we won't be able to contain the blessings that flow our way we will learn how to be wealthy and how to use that wealth to grow the kingdom of god you believe it do you want to partake in it then focus seek after first the kingdom of god be obedient to what he tells you to do in giving and you'll see the result of it stand with me and we'll pray father i thank you this morning that we have this opportunity to worship and praise you and our tithes and our offerings we give you praise father for all that you've done for us the finances that flow through our households that father it not only meets every need that we have but we're able to give out and and receive blessings as a result but giving father is the primary thing and we just believe that as we give to this morning a tithe that not only will we be giving into your kingdom and causing your kingdom to grow but we will see you and experience you opening the windows of heaven in our favor so father we give you praise and thanksgiving this morning for this opportunity to give so father we we just praise you and thank you in jesus name so you can give electronically this morning you can see on the screens and what to do electronically and by the way that's the best way to give your credit card payments don't put them in the envelope boxes in the back um but also if you have envelopes here uh there are envelope boxes in the back by each door and you can drop them in there and god bless you as you do and one thing that i could say that i pulled from the edwards they're kind of my mentors they don't know but you can watch people you know i mean and you don't have to always sit down with your mentors but you can watch people people that they're that their life produces fruit so how they said or miss charles said mr rick when he was out of a job or when he was in between jobs he got up in the morning he got dressed and he sat in a parking lot i think about when we bought our first house and it was a little process that we were going through it took a little bit longer than what we were expecting and we found one house we found one house that had good bones and i was like you know we could do a fixer-upper so i had a different schedule i was getting off of work at 12 every day and i would get after work i would just sit in front of the house and play worship music i would declare that this was our house i would pray that this was our house a couple months later we ended up closing on the house then the next time we were believing for a house we were like you know what we want to build we want to have this that in a third and how many of you know if you don't know faith is specific faith is specific if you want bread don't settle for a stone right so there were things that we were looking at we looked at a whole bunch out we looked probably like 20 houses and anybody that is in real estate or anything like that that's a lot of houses we found a house that we wanted on a friday and and long story short on monday it was gone neddy and i were disappointed we looked through the house we were like it had everything that we wanted it had every single thing that we wanted and i was like god why did this happen god why did this happen but in that moment i just realized you know what if if it didn't if that didn't happen i knew that god just had something better so literally just however edwards was saying um i'll never forget it it was a it was a wednesday at 12 18. how many of you know when something happens in your life something big you can remember the time specifically so i was looking on the neighborhood's website and i was like oh it says one house is still available i called the person i was like hey you know i mean my name is jerome lewis um i'm saying that it said there's one house available um i need some information on this house my wife and i looked at a house in this neighborhood and we wanted it sold and she was like well we have a meeting at 12 30. i was like like 12 minutes 12 30 because it was 12 18. and she was like she was like yeah at 12 30. so i was like whatever it is like i need to know don't put it on the market we went to house she called back 15 minutes later she was like somebody ended up dropping out of that house and we were able to get that house we closed on that house and that's how we got that house but when you are believing for things in faith be specific and protect your faith that's two things that i'll also say so the announcements that i have for you guys this wednesday we are taking over main event we are taking over main event if you have been volunteering here at seeds since he won he transitioned over and now he just got a brand new body and he is in glory praising our god so yet it's bittersweet he moved to heaven and we're glad about that and these past weeks it was he was a good man and he did some great things in the community and around his church and being here so we want to celebrate him and his family um and pray over them during this time the person that has what we will miss the physical but there's a life on the other side of death that is glorious and so we want to celebrate all that god has done through him and with him in this season if you want
