father and of the son and of the holy spirit are men to begin we can light a candle in order to cultivate an attitude of interiority peace and silence in order to taste god's presence and forgiveness on this day lord i humbly present myself to you in this prayer of repentance and forgiveness i have sinned o lord and i come to you with a contrite and humble heart to receive your forgiveness mercy and fatherly tenderness i beg you lord to lift me up and to welcome me [Music] dear friends we can entrust all our sins sufferings and difficulties to the burning hearts of jesus in the comments section on psalm 51 which is also numbered psalm 50. a beautiful way to pray the psalms is to imagine jesus himself saying them and particularly in psalm 51 jesus is burdened by our sins and begs the father for forgiveness [Music] have mercy on me o god according to your steadfast love according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin have mercy on me lord your child i turn to you in this prayer welcome me o lord i have sinned against heaven and against you father i am no longer worthy to be called your son or your daughter but father my god your infinite and merciful love is capable of erasing my sin washing and purifying me no one least of all me can stand before your holiness heavenly father but look at my faith lord if my sin has separated me from you my faith compels me to seek your forgiveness lord forgive me and set me free amen for i know my transgressions and my sin is ever before me against you you alone have i sinned and done what is evil in your sight so that you are justified in your sentence and blameless when you pass judgment o father of tenderness i am all too familiar with the bitter fruit that sin produces in me this self-deception guilt imprisonment denial sin brings with it a slew of evils and here i am oh lord my fault is always before me i think about it all the time and i can't get out of it on my own i need you lord and i present myself to you naked i've erred and sinned against you i dare to say against you alone because any sin committed against myself or my brothers and sisters is ultimately a sin committed against you against your goodness against your gifts see my failures lord but you say a word to me manifest your judgment so that your victory over my sin may appear i hope for your victory o lord amen indeed i was born guilty a sinner when my mother conceived me you desire truth in the inward being therefore teach me wisdom in my secret heart from my earliest childhood from my mother's womb i was marked by original sin i was born in sin separated from full communion with you and without this full communion sin reigned in my life from now on with a repentance and humbled heart i refuse the reign of evil you o lord want to make me grow in intelligence and love to visit me in my deepest being to restore truth and wisdom these weapons of victory against all sin and evil yes visit the depths of my being lord to establish there the unshakeable column of truth amen purge me with hyssop and i shall be clean wash me and i shall be whiter than snow let me hear joy and gladness let my bones that you have crushed rejoice it is you lord who can cleanse me if you cleanse me and wash me no sin will resist your love and my soul will become dazzling white then my heart will be filled with joy celebration gratitude and praise and i will be able to enter once again into full communion with you and with the church to participate in her eucharistic feast what was dead in me will find life again and i will praise you eternal lord for all eternity amen hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquities create in me a clean heart oh god and puts a new and right spirit within me do not look upon my sin lord for your gaze of infinite purity would cause me to die at once but recreating me your grace that my being may be warmed in you by the light of the gift of your love yes renew my spirit lord give me a new heart and a new spirit strengthen my spiritual powers ground me in the truth of your forgiveness that i may know myself forgiven that i may know myself saved and that my joy may be complete amen do not cast me away from your presence and do not take your holy spirit from me restore me in the joy of your salvation and sustain in me a willing spirit your face is my only home lord it is my kingdom of love said saint therese of lejeux do not hide your face from me for in your look of tenderness i find life and goodness energy and hope to go forward do not take your life from your lord i am not worthy of you you know that but if you abandon me what will become of me you give me your joy give me your spirit so that it may sustain me strengthen me enliven me make me grow and progress in your grace amen then i will teach transgressors your ways and sinners will return to you deliver me from bloodshed oh god oh god of my salvation and my tongue will sing aloud your deliverance o lord open my lips and my mouth will declare your praise then once forgiven i will know what mercy means i will have lived this experience it will be alive in my heart i will know what freedom and justice mean so how can i fall to praise you how can i fall to share with everyone the greatness and the marvels of your goodness and your mercy on the cross lord you shed your blood my sin made you shed your blood free me from this crime o lord through your forgiveness thank you for the powerful liberation you want to accomplish through your mercy you want to erase my debt and i with a free heart will proclaim your justice your praise and the mercy that saved me with joy i will proclaim your praise to all who seek you amen for you have no delight in sacrifice if i were to give a burnt suffering you would not be pleased the sacrifice acceptable to god is a broken spirit a broken and contrite heart oh god you will not despise how great is your love lord it searches hearts and minds in truth receive my broken humiliated dishonored spirit what reason would you have to reject my broken and crushed heart you see in me only jesus whose heart is broken and crushed by his passion you see in me only the price of the blood of the beloved given up for us you see the broken spirit of christ in gethsemane and throughout his passion powerfully animated by the desire to save all men do good to zion in your good pleasure rebuild the walls of jerusalem then you will delight in right sacrifices in burnt sufferings and whole burnt offerings then bulls will be offered on your altar i also entrust to you lord your church the communion of the new jerusalem on this earth the sin of a single member disfigures the whole church but on the contrary the grace of forgiveness which you grant to one of its members builds up the whole body and raises its walls i offer you lord the just sacrifices of my love and praise especially the most just and holy sacrifice of the eucharist which is a powerful remedy for my past faults thank you for your offering jesus amen have mercy on me o god according
