[Music] welcome and today i will show you how to get the best obs recording settings for any low end pc without any further ado let's jump right into it first go ahead and click on your copy of obs then click on the settings in here go ahead and click on output then change the output mode to advanced next click on the recording tab and for the recording format it's all up to preference i prefer mov or mp4 i would recommend one or two audio tracks depending on how many uh audio devices you have i only have one so one track is perfectly fine for me then for the encoder it depends on what specs are in your computer on what you'll see here for me i have a nvidia graphics card and like all a cpu so i have x264 and nvidia invent i recommend to use x264 for a lot of gaming purposes but if you're streaming nvidia invent is very good but since this is a recording guide i recommend x264 for most recording cases don't go ahead and touch any of the mixer settings or the rescale output as these really won't help you in most cases next rate control in here i recommend cbr or crf cbr is my recommended choice because it allows you to set a bit rate and it will never go above that value [Music] with the bitrate 2500 and 720p is usually fine in most cases what i recommend for most low end computers is 3 500 to 4500 then for mid-end pcs i would choose 5500 to 7500 anywhere in between that's value and for high-end i would recommend 8 000 up to 20 000 [Music] for my cpu 12 000 seems to be the sweet spot then i would recommend using a custom buffer size but if you experience this you just go ahead and turn this off 35 000 is the best buffer size that i've found [Music] then don't test the keyframe interval unless it's in any other value than zero for the cpu usage preset make sure to set it to super fast as it's required to change some of the x264 options [Music] then for profile go ahead and set it to high then set the tune to zero latency this will allow us to achieve the best recording possible [Music] and make sure that your recording stays smooth at all times now in here these are the best x264 options and zero latency options that i've found so far these will also be located in the description so you don't need to download anything at all for the x264 options i recommend copying this and pasting it directly into these x264 options they're automatically separated by space right before you're going to copy these make sure to put a space in front of slice threads then choose whether you want quality or [Music] performance [Music] then go ahead and apply the changes then click on the audio and make sure you set the audio bitrate to 160. 160 is the best value that i've found so far [Music] then go ahead and click on the audio tab set the sample rate to 44.1 kilohertz [Music] then set your base canvas resolution to the highest it supports make sure the aspect ratio is 16x9 this is the preferred aspect ratio for most uh places like youtube twitch and other any other place that you would upload recordings to then set the output scaled resolution to 720p if you have a lower end computer or 1080p if possible i recommend 1080p for this the best possible quality but if you need the much as much smoothness as possible i recommend 720p with the downscale filter make sure to change it to lansos this will give you the smoothest recording possible then make sure you select common fps values and set it to 60. then go ahead and apply these changes in the hotkeys you can go ahead and set your keys for recording uh pausing anything else you might have in here that you may use then go ahead and click on the advanced tab and here set the process priority to above normal then go ahead and apply setting the process priority to above normal allows the cpu to be taken advantage of more now in here for the video settings on the advanced tab the renderer i recommend using direct3d 11 as it's the best option in most cases the color format and v12 with the color space i always recommend 709 for the color range i recommend partial for most cases but if you have enough storage go ahead and set it to full then go ahead and apply the changes once you've finished applying these settings you should have the best possible recording settings possible for your computer if you still need any assistance i have a custom settings chart in the description that may be able to help you get settings even better and if you still can't get any at that point i can determine your best settings for your computer just go ahead and leave a comment with your pc specs and your operating system and i'll answer you as fast as i can if this guide helped you out go ahead and like and subscribe as it helps my channel out greatly and i hope to see you next time bye [Music] you
