tony tony hey baby good boy what's up lady to this challenge tony is my boyfriend we're the first couple to ever do this there's so much i want to say i just lost all that yeah i lost all the words i've been pride super days i don't think i'm gonna make it there's always romance in the junk [Music] a jungle environment really fits our skill sets i was in the marine corps and i first met tony when i was in bagram afghanistan he was working as a trainer for the special ops guys i met starry and we hit it off and been together ever since stars told me around we competed everything i can't do anything with her trying to beat me so star did not want to do this challenge she was against it yeah i don't want to be out anywhere where there's bugs involved it's just those bugs that's all i care about we've been together for two years want to like test how much we can tolerate each other can we as a couple come together and succeed [Music] let's do this can you believe we're naked in the jungle i'm so mad at you for this candy dandy knife oh yeah oh yeah oh i got the firestone yeah we're gonna need that tony and star have also been given a pot to boil the bacteria infested water wow that's a whole lot of jungle tony and star are being thrust into the amazonian jungle of riwa guyana with anaconda and caimans oh my goodness among them menacing no seems bloodthirsty mosquitoes and giant horseflies whose excruciating bites can quickly become infected damn yeah there is ain't they oh they've got to get that goat they're all over me why but anybody won't be naked in john i didn't decide to do it somehow you had convinced me i love you man i'm sorry the daylight's leaving pretty quickly getting late in the ball game right now we need to get some shelter we're close to our water source and we're just clearing out an area here to build our a-frame what you doing with that um making some cordage from a cockaroli tree mark actually comes off in strips used for lashing good thing about lashing something i'm a little worried about if i can hang with tony's survival training you know and show that i'm just as good as he is so anything i can do to help him i'd like to do that if you want we can start working on the fire um i've got a good tinder pile going on [Music] it's so wet everything you put on here just kills it [Music] we don't go to that damn it's kind of nerve-wracking that we still haven't gotten a fire at this point all these bugs are biting the hell out of me i don't want to get bit up by bugs and scrub for the rest more i don't have to do this i don't want to do this i don't feel like getting this bit up i don't want to be here i gotta always be there my baby got all these bugs in here last night was rough but every time i'm down tony does a great job of getting my mind off of it trying to get some tinder and kindling up in the sun just gotta be patient and let it dry everything is so wet really starting to get dehydrated and i hope we get this fire started i got it good job just give it a break for a second oh yep you got it great job man that is awesome that is awesome now that we got the fire going it's a complete game changer it's gonna be a good night tonight you know the highs are highs and lows or lows this is one of those highs [Music] so the fire definitely helped out when it comes to the bugs but what we plan on doing is creating a bigger shelter we're here for 21 days everybody just lives miserably while they're out here not us we're gonna live nice build a nice little mansion that keeps us warm dry there'll be two rooms actually one is the raised platform bed that you can actually get in during the day and sleep the other one is the fire room that you can lay down in at night and stay warm we'll actually build a nice steady platform gleam you get them rambo i like it it's a nice shelter for tonight it should work i actually think we'll sleep there's fish and crabs in the river so i'm making fish trapped we're both equal partners if one of us is down the other one will pick up the slack all right go up [Music] look at that mother palm right there one that you can get the nuts and everything out of awesome it's got a lot of nuts that we can use it's all over the ground here they're all good they don't have a lot of fruit in it but man it's good quite delicious but once you eat it all the way down there's a huge seed grubs will often burrow into the hard seed at the center providing tony and star with an additional protein source this is exactly what we needed wrap it like a burrito yeah we plan on roasting these little grubs because i heard that when you roast the grubs they kind of taste like coconut so i'd like to try that here somewhere in between popcorn and something else i don't know what i don't know what you don't like it [Music] my mind can't wrap around the fact that a grub just squirted in my mouth come on fish truck no fishing fish trap looks empty we're completely exhausted it's taking a lot of energy just to do simple tasks so frustrating is that a scorpion i really don't want to get stung by it [Music] use it for fish bait so right now we're just baiting my fish trap with their black scorpion you feeling okay baby i thank him being out here [Music] i feel a huge responsibility for taking care of star i mean she took this challenge on basically because i wanted to do it [Music] i got a fish the catfish that's amazing we were hungry so just actually getting some food in our belly would be would be great give me the juice good job baby thank you this is amazing oh it smells so good i'm so proud of you yeah yeah your trap work great i'm gonna take some girl to a fish fry tonight date night movie by the fire hmm yeah it's a whole different type of closeness out here in the jungle it is kind of romantic it brings you closer together that fish was the best fish i've ever had in my life best day ever [Music] i wonder how many bites we have on our body i don't want to know that at all last night was definitely one of the worst nights that we've had it was 12 hours of mosquitoes biting us we need to create a door so we can close in our shelter hint and damn babe got too many projects going on here have the most misery at night time so we're trying to mitigate that so we can get good night's sleep we'll move the door off for the day then we'll just put it back at night oh thank you you're so well i'm gonna chill by the bedside if that's okay with you of course baby girl uh there's always romance in the jungle we it may not be on film there's always romance in the jungle do you want to move up here to the bed [Music] [Applause] good morning damn you tony [Music] i guess i just look forward to these beautiful moments kind of makes it all worth it [Music] this right here is a tree of life these are the nuts from the tree of life this thing is fed us it's done everything for us and found a special one here perfect shape look how round that is perfect [Music] why'd you spend all that time growing together stuff i was just trying to get as many as i can get for extraction oh okay thank you for being here with me thank you for being in the world thank you for being in my life you're so patient and understanding when i'm like in misery and you just want me then [Music] day 21 we are so ready for extraction extraction this is quite a steep climb whoa whoa you okay yeah yeah we still got a long way to go be careful [Music] look there's a river there finished strong love i hear it oh here they come i can't believe we did it i know cool star tourists i love you we made it through this challenge you're the strongest toughest most beautiful woman that i know so sweet you make me happy i like to complete without you so much i want to say i just lost all those yeah i lost all the words i've been pride super days i love you today i love you to dad sweetheart i know i made this from the tree life oh that's so cool it's a life of the jungle you're the love of my life would you marry me of course [Music] [Music] an awesome surprise i've never expected that sweetheart i absolutely feel that this challenge brought us closer together i had no doubts at all when i said yes and now i know that i'm a survivalist now and i know we are such a great partnership not just in survival but everything we do together this journey we've split most couples up i'm sure of it i didn't think we'd get any closer but we have be grateful for the person that loves you and that would stick beside you through a challenge like this just like this jungle even though it's hard the hard times make you appreciate everything that much more and and that's what relationships are all about as well it makes me feel like i can overcome anything we're a badass team you
