Let's eat! I love Toge. Hey, I'm Chien. Remember to like and subscribe to my channel, and share this video with all your friends. Hi, this is Foodie Chien. This is an awkward opening. Do you remember my previous buffet restaurant series? Today, we are going to a special restaurant. The buffet restaurants I filmed before
are mostly chain restaurants or large-scale operations. But this time, it's a Western restaurant for senior Taiwanese citizens. Buffet in Jimmy's Kitchen. What's interesting about this buffet restaurant is it only serves buffet lunch. The price per person is NT$ 1,100 with a 10% service charge. In fact, I went there once. It was around NT$ 800. I have a pretty good impression. The food options were few, but they were pretty good. So I'm going to introduce it to you. Let's go. First of all, I have taken all the appetizers. Let me show you. It's cute, isn't it? Which one should I start with? I will start with this. This is the first dish I took. It's similar to the appetizers
of the traditional wedding banquet. Most importantly, they serve shrimp floss. When I saw the shrimp floss, I grabbed two right away. Shrimp floss. It isn't extraordinarily delicious, but I think it's quite good for a buffet. The shrimp tastes pretty sweet, and the seasoning isn't too intense. I feel that the camera always focuses on Toge. Next, I'm going to eat the soy sauce chicken. The quality is quite good. You can see from its side. It tastes tender and a little bit salty. But the skin is tender, and the fat's aroma is just right. I find it interesting because Jimmy's Kitchen is a Western restaurant. But the food served here is quite Chinese. It's like fusion. But at least the taste is good. The squid is fresh. It's chewy and slightly sweet. It's served with spicy tomato sauce, but I didn't dip that. Crab stick. It tastes just like crab sticks. Nice crab stick. Don't you think crab sticks are amazing? Conch. It's a fusion of Chinese and Western cuisine. Actually, the jellyfish also reminds me
of the traditional wedding banquet. Let me peel a shrimp. Usually, I don't eat shrimp. I would rather say I don't eat it than say I'm too lazy to peel one. If I say so, others might offer to peel it for me. I don't want them to think I say that to take advantage of them. But now I have to peel it myself because I'm filming. The quality is good. No fishy taste. It's sweet. I have noticed many people come here
specifically to eat a lot of shrimp. I think the shrimp served here are pretty good. This is the first plate of appetizers I have eaten so far. It tastes quite similar to the traditional wedding banquet, like the spicy tomato sauce as seasoning. Honestly, the food quality is up to snuff. For example, the conch has a perfect level of chewiness. It's not too tough. The same goes for the jellyfish. Overall, the food is good. Next, let's proceed to the second plate. It tastes like bacon. I wish I could eat it with rice. Luckily, I have potato salad. Thank you. The potato salad is pretty tasty. It's not overly mushy. It's a mix of chunks and puree. The texture is nice and sweet. It suits children's palate. I feel like adding more salad sauce. Like grandma's cooking, you know? It's added with many ingredients, but salad sauce isn't healthy, so it's only added a little. Meat jelly. It's made of braised chicken with Shaoxing wine. The white one is chicken. What about this? I think it's just okay. What a fancy glass. It's dry and not too salty. The beef isn't dry. Quite juicy. But it's just fine. Like a tongue. You tried to act funny but were afraid others might see. I'm worried if people look at me, you know? The distance between the tables is quite close together. I'm afraid people might feel like beating me. This is duck liver mousse. It's tasty. The cookie base is a bit salty, while the duck liver is fresh and creamy. Their combination is enjoyable. Maybe it's exposed on the tray that the cookie is a bit soggy. Still, the flavor is good. Shrimp. Personally, I prefer the duck liver mousse. Besides, the roasted shrimp is also good. But I prefer blanched shrimp. These two are my favorite on this plate. As for the meat, the taste is average. This is smoked salmon. A strange combination. Its fatty aroma is good and not too salty. The fruits are delicious. They are paired with mayonnaise. No wonder I like it. This plate is heavier than the last one. I really like the grilled oysters, the king oyster mushrooms, and fruits taste pretty well. The oyster is juicy. Here are nigiri and sashimi. Wasabi is already stuffed inside. The rice is compact. It tastes like budget sushi, and its vinegared rice isn't overly sour. Perhaps, many senior citizens eat here. That's why it's less sour. It has a homely taste. But the wasabi is too much. I expected it to be mild, but there is quite a chunk of wasabi. You can see from the side... Can you tell how compact it is? I don't really like the vinegared rice of the nigiri because it's too compact. The fish on top tastes like other budget nigiri, but its mouthfeel and flavor... It's not that fishy. If you are getting the nigiri for sashimi, it tastes like the salmon from Sushi Express. The fatty aroma and freshness are pretty good. The morimori sushi is also quite yummy. But I'm not as keen on the tuna. So far, I prefer the previous plate with the shrimp floss and the rest. Let's move on. Moving on to the final savory dish. Just now, I managed to take the most popular lamb and beef steaks here. Besides, the oysters ran out before my turn, but the tray was refilled by the time I got there. Actually, they fill up the food rapidly, so you rarely see empty trays. Even if the food is running low, it's immediately refilled, which I think is good. I will start with the lamb. There are many small bones, so be careful when eating it. The lamb doesn't have an intense gamey smell. If you are afraid of a strong gamey smell, you can try this. The texture is considered tender and it's fragrant when chewed. Let me try the garlic bread that comes with it. It is delicious. Here's the bread lover in the buffet series. The garlic smells great. You can try. Beef. The beef is grilled. Its aroma is great and the beef flavor is pretty well when you chew it. It's tender and very juicy. It's also rich in fat. Then, there it is. I'm worried about my teeth. It's fragrant. The seasoning isn't overly salty. It has a mild flavor of pepper salt together with the crab meat. You can try this. Besides, the meat is tender to bite into and plump. I recommend beef steak for grilled food. The lamb steak is also enjoyable. The smell isn't too strong. Here it comes. Coming next, this entire fish is awesome. But let me try the fried rice first. The fried rice is delicious. The ingredients are amazing. It's so well-seasoned, with the aroma of scallion, slight saltiness, and the flavor of bacon. Overall, it's not too salty. It smells great when you chew it. It's also served with Himalayan salt. The taste will be just nice
if sprinkled with a bit of Himalayan salt. If you have a big appetite, you can try the fried rice paired with beef tenderloin teppanyaki. I recommend that. Crispy roasted pork. Normally, crispy roasted pork is laid out on the tray, and its crispy skin tends to get hard. But this one is thin and crispy. The fatty aroma is great. More importantly, it isn't overly salty and tastes tender. What's this? Deep-fried shrimp? The batter isn't to my liking because it's obviously oily, but the shrimp inside is sweet. Here it is. The whole fish. Fresh and tender. The seasoning isn't too intense. Perhaps this is a light flavor. This is the last plate. I think these are candied sweet potatoes. The sugary glaze doesn't seep in too much, so the sweetness level isn't too high. Just nice. Also, I can taste the sweetness of sweet potato itself. I like luffa. It tastes pretty nice. The outer layer isn't hard or scratchy and has a pleasant sweetness. Prosperous Double Delight. It's fatty but not too salty. When you bite the fatty meat, it melts immediately. The combination of its fat and the bread is perfect. Next, moving on to oysters. I realized the waiters here are very attentive. When I was waiting in line just now, a woman suddenly cut in front of me. I wonder how you would deal with this situation. As for me, I'm timid, you know? The waiter was so kind, they helped replenish the oysters and served me. So big. It's fresh. Besides, they aren't seasoned. They only contain the natural saltiness of seawater. Are you all right, guys? All right. Finally, let's move on to the soup. I will start with the bamboo shoot soup. I guess it offers a rather light taste. The bamboo shoot soup is sweet. Also, the soup seems clear. When I was scooping, I didn't see many bamboo shoots. But the soup tastes like a concentrated essence of bamboo shoots. Besides, it's summer now, which isn't the harvesting season. You can't feel much of the bamboo shoots' fiber. I think it's pretty nice. I like this soup. Here's the second soup. As compared to the bamboo shoot soup, the ingredient... The sweetness of goji berry stands out. Let me try the Chinese yam. I prefer the bamboo shoot soup. Because this soup is healthier. Personally, I like goji berry. But the sweetness here is pretty obvious that you can't ignore it. I finished the soup. Now, let's proceed to the dessert part. I took a piece of each cake. The dessert has a pleasant look. I read online that the head chef makes them, so we wanted to try them out. Cheesecake. For its price level, the flavor is rich. The cake isn't dry and is slightly sour. I think it's okay. The taste is expected. Wow, look at this. It's like the brown sugar sponge cake. But its texture is less chewy. It tastes like the natural sweetness of brown sugar. I quite like this. I believe the elderly like it too. Tiramisu. I'm not fond of this. The cream has a bouncy texture. It glides across your tongue. This should be the brownie. The brownie is dry. Let's try the square cheesecake. It's light cheese. The cookie base isn't to my liking, but I like the cheese on top. However, the round cheesecake is better. Its sourness and flavor richness are just right. This is pretty good. It's a soaked fruit pound cake. It isn't dry. The moisture level is high. It resembles the traditional round cake. The lemon-flavored. Right. They taste alike. Between the square and round cheesecakes, I personally prefer the first cheesecake because the sourness and flavor richness are just nice. I also like the brown sugar sponge cake for its pure taste. As for the first square pound cake with soaked fruits, I like that. I recommend trying these three. They are nice. The rest are average. But there are many foods offered here. So, you can save space with other items. Next is jelly. If I had to choose one, I would choose the jasmine flavor. Tofu pudding with peanuts. When I scooped it, I saw a lot of ingredients. As I pressed the ladle, peanuts immediately filled it. The tofu pudding with peanuts isn't too sweet. They adjust the flavor
according to their customer's preferences. The overall sweetness isn't too high. Besides, the tofu pudding is tender. I recommend the tofu pudding with peanuts. But it's less sweet, so if you prefer a sweeter taste, you can get a sugar sachet below to add more sugar. The food variety served here isn't extensive, so I would like to share with you the food I take for the second round. They have live performances during nighttime. Even Gugu, who doesn't like lamb steak, is enjoying it, so I recommend trying the lamb. The beef is cooked perfectly. We have finished our meal at Jimmy's Kitchen. I wonder what you think about it. I think all the items are above average. The foods won't impress you, but they all taste pretty good. You won't get annoyed by the items served. It's strategically located at the Ren'ai Roundabout, which used to be the most bustling place. Overall, for the ambiance and service, NT$ 1,100 plus a 10% service charge is quite reasonable. However, the food selection isn't wide enough for a buffet. Still, I'm pretty satisfied with that. What do you think about this? All right, that's it. That's all for today's video. Thank you for watching my video. All right. Bye-bye. Eat everything. I'm full. Eat...
