YouTube's Creepy Hidden Gem

[Music] you [Music] today I'd like to introduce you to what in my opinion is an overlooked [ __ ] gem on YouTube now before we begin I just want to say that this isn't one of those things that needs to be debunked it's definitely not anything dangerous and is most certainly a webseries in fact I wouldn't even necessarily call it an Arg although it does have some Arg elements to it I also want to emphasize that I don't have any solid conclusions about this series just yet but I'm going to give you a basic overview of it this thing is still ongoing and so far hasn't given us enough to form any solid theories about it so for now we're just going to have to sit tight and enjoy the ride think of this video as your starting point if after watching it you think this channel is for you then I highly suggest you hop on over so you can experience it for yourself in full the channel I'm referring to is called 2h30 to which you may remember from my video concerning the weird side of youtube back in July I only briefly covered it there so today we're going to be taking a deeper look into things first this channel is completely obsessed with a number 232 and just about everything they do is centred on it it currently has 16 videos each with a runtime of 2 minutes and 32 seconds long and begins with a clock counting up to that time with the exception of two videos which we'll get into later each video including the two without a starter time also end with a clock hitting 232 a.m. followed by one final scene before the video ends the channel was created over a year ago debuting on June 23rd of 2016 and has uploaded one video on the 23rd of each subsequent month after this month however we've been greeted with a double feature which I'll be getting into towards the end of this video now on the surface this channel can be very confusing given that there's basically no context to anything you're seeing plus the story seems to be told in a nonlinear format despite this I think the first video which also bears the same name as the channel is the best place to start from I'm going to play it for you now in full so just take note of everything you see [Music] you [Applause] so again that may not have made much sense but let's break it down a bit by taking into consideration everything we just witnessed you see a clock as expected and then the woods with some blood on the ground a man's feet a bloody burlap sack a reed field a red cloak character who appears a couple times another cloaked figure this time wearing yellow walking through the reed field someone bleeding in the woods this shot being with a red filter a dirt road or a tunnel a door some kind of blurred indistinguishable figure another blurred red filtered image this time of what appears to be a person blinking and a vandalized area probably under a bridge of some kind along with what looks like a stone block in the middle of it so this all probably seems rather nonsensical and just meant to creep you out but everything that was shown in this first video appears to serve some kind of purpose and propelling the plotline forward after watching all the videos on this channel I described this first one as sort of a trailer or sneak peek given that everything shown is expanded upon in later videos for example the door you saw in the first video serves as the focal point of the second video here we see the same scene but it continues on uncomfortably lingering until a set of long babadook s fingers reach over from the other side [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] we also see another reference to the tunnel in this one one thing that sticks out about this video is that in the comments the uploader left a timestamp that leads to 2 minutes and 27 seconds into the video this would be the start of the final shot every video after that has a similar timestamp leading to its final moments which in this case would be another out-of-focus Spectre who appears on screen in front of the door could this be whatever was behind the door earlier on here's a bit more from this video where we shown more familiar scenes [Music] [Music] [Music] in the next video titled doctor we see the same blurred image from the first video once again this time it plays out throughout the majority of the clip and ends with the same out-of-focus blinking face from before and of course we're also left with a timestamp in the comment section the third video atrocious focuses primarily on the woods in the bloody burlap sack however we don't see any of the previous characters the next video brings us back to the yellow cloaked man in the reed fields this time dragging along the bloody sack to some unknown destination the video ends with a close-up of the yellow cloaked man's face which appears to be wrapped in plastic blood can also be seen here tripping in Reverse the red cloaked figure is the star of our next video here we return to the forest where the person filming can be heard breathing heavily possibly trying to escape at about halfway through the style changes slightly this time shifting to a red filter the same as we saw in the original video next up is invitation this one roughly marks the halfway point on the channel so far and also starts a major shift in style and content from what we've seen previously this is the first video to feature things that we haven't seen in the original two h32 trailer for example were introduced to a faceless suited man one that many will consider to resemble Slenderman but if you want my personal opinion I believe this character is maybe more of an homage to Slenderman rather than actually Slenderman himself based on how he behaves in his apparent role in this series we also see a new setting as the suited man is standing on railroad tracks which we've never seen before this shot also contains jump cuts to meet being thrown into some kind of body of water perhaps this has something to do with the bloody burlap sack we also see a quick cut to the door you've seen twice before and after that it cuts to the suited man again this time with the Roman numerals four to three two placed in front of him what unfolds next is a sequence of cartoons overlaid on top the suited man and if you pay attention you'll notice a somewhat hidden message saying a very special invitation and I want to play the last sequence in this video is what you see in front of you and yes another set of messages can be found here as well as I said invitation marks the start of a major stylistic shift in 2h30 2's content what we've seen before was creepy and definitely well put together but the remaining uploads seem to step it up a notch in the visuals Department personally I think this is where things start to shift from being primarily unsettling and creepy to also being incredibly artistic in nature but of course that also means they become somewhat more abstract than they already were take H for example the video with what is quite possibly the most ambiguous title of any in this series we can't assume that H is in reference to whatever H into H 32 is meant to stand for if not simply our but that's a question for another time in H we don't see any doors bloody sax or creepy forests in this video we're sat in the middle of a room as we stare into a mirror one that reflects a horrifying faceless figure this is the very definition of unnerving it's one shot and at first we're not quite sure what we're seeing but over the 2 minutes and 32 seconds we have the figure slowly turns around to face us [Music] [Music] you [Music] a second ago I described how what we were looking at was perhaps a mirror and the reflection of whatever it was we were seeing and though it appears to be that way upon first glance this may not actually be the case to age 32 is very very detail driven and everything shown seems to be on purpose here were seated in a Blue Room looking into what appears to be a mirror as we watch the red figure on the other side take note of the colors here we've seen red washes use in very specific ways so far usually when something not so great is either happening or about to think back to the red cloak character who seem to be stalking the cameraman earlier at first things are filmed as they appear but later shift to a red filter when the bleeding man is shown the same effect can be seen in doctor as we mentioned earlier and it's safe to say whoever's perspective we're looking from in that clip isn't having the best time of course the use of red is sprinkled all throughout this series but I don't want to make it seem more important than it actually is my point is that in filmmaking adding distortion to something in this case with color helps drastically shift the tone of whatever we're looking at sometimes to almost a surrealist effect as if we're in a different world from the one previously shown now I'd like to return to what I said at the beginning of this video and reiterate that so far we don't have enough to form any solid theories as to what the heck is going on here in terms of story but we may at least have a clue about 2h30 twos overall theme if you go into each video source code then you'll notice some pretty interesting tags they're usually a mix of English French and Japanese and usually say things like Nightmare horror out of the woods fear void and perhaps most interestingly lettuce in so what could this mean as I said the original 2h30 to video is really more of a trailer so the channels first real video would be door this could lead us to the assumption that two h32 storyline has something to do with outside forces or perhaps a different world entirely one of nightmares that maybe only becomes accessible at 2:32 a.m. possibly when you're dreaming is the mirror we see in H really just a mirror or maybe more symbolic of a door or portal of course even though all of the seems feasible it doesn't help us understand exactly what's happening within this nightmare we've been presented other tags include eye the eyes I can't see my face and Lost Tapes I also wanted to point out that there very much could be hidden clues within these tags take for example the source code for invitation the tags include the usual but also have some that aren't present in most others such as I will be evil things and atrocious which is a reference to 2h30 twos video of the same name others do the same thing as well offering up the usual tags and sometimes opting to add the name of another clip on the channel as I said 2h 32 appears to be flowing in a nonlinear format so this could hint as to how the pieces are supposed to fit together I've already mentioned the skull time stamps that appear in the comments of each video but another possible lead here are the channels playlists there are three of them one simply called 2h30 - another called - 3 - in Roman numerals and a new one just added with this month's new releases interestingly enough this one is entitled encore could the implication here be that the original - age 30 - storyline is technically complete and what we're seeing now is more of an after show the most recent uploads from the channel are called Origen and Prelude and like I said earlier this is the first time in 2h30 2's history where we've gotten two uploads at once instead of one as a lot of you know once a series or franchise is done with its main storyline it's not all that out of the ordinary for them to return with a prequel or origin story after all - age 32 has been running for over a year now so maybe it's time to tie up any loose ends Origen and Prelude offer us one very very interesting little detail [Music] it seems we may know who's responsible for the bloody burlap sack we've seen so much of throughout the series another thing I wanted to point out which is painfully obvious is this channels focus on musical themes nearly every video has some kind of eerie old music playing and a good chunk of the uploads are references to music opera overture interlude Prelude etc this could also help us determine where everything is supposed to fit together but for now there's no way to tell continuing in the theme of music overture is one of two videos I mentioned briefly in the beginning that don't start with a clock instead it begins with what appears to be a new masked character sitting at a dinner table of course listening to music he has something in front of him and at first it's a little hard to tell what but were soon shown a close-up of his meal which appears to come alive what follows next is a series of distortion and a montage of seemingly nonsensical imagery we see red tinted liquid and a wineglass with what appears to be said liquid being poured into it in Reverse revealing a key the distortion that happens throughout the video offers us some hidden messages twos and threes of course but we also see I a few times and some other things that are difficult to distinguish the second video to not feature a clock at the beginning is called ascension this one is much like a few we've seen before where once again in a forest the same one home to the burlap sack only this time the setting is coated in a thick layer of snow what makes this video stick out isn't so much what it doesn't feature as much as what it does instead of a clock were greeted with a computer screen [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] now this is very meta and just like everything else most likely is on purpose perhaps a reference to the real world there are theories as to what this could mean but so far nothing solid has come from it whenever channels like this come up I usually don't tend to get into storylines and instead focus on the project's purpose and whoever created it for the first year of 2h30 2's existence its creator was completely unknown until now with the uploads this month also came a patreon page from someone choosing to go by the name P PS so far only posted one image of himself and it's safe to say that he's going to stay in character his patreon reads in exchange for your support I'll open a door here for you there are several paths in which my 2h 32 series may go the scope of it all relies on you be the orchestra to my symphony the so far supports the theory that 2h 32 deals and alternate realities of sorts and also keeps in line with the musical themes as for what it all means all we can do for now is wait things out and see what P delivers in the months ahead maybe he'll be offering us more insight on his project but that's all up in
