with the sudden rise of Beyblade anime content on YouTube I realized I wanted to make a video that was different from the average look everyone Beyblade is built different these characters stood on business while discussing the same Clips featuring insane moments from the series that surface Twitter and Tik Tok because I feel there's more to Beyblade than just cool moments and I wanted to make a video that wasn't just vomiting the same takes everyone has heard for the past month and then I realized that Beyblade has a manga so I spent the next few days reading the Metal Fight Beyblade manga and it was awesome so in today's video I'll be discussing my thoughts while pushing the agenda on why you should read this manga wait let him cook the metalight Beyblade manga created by takafumi adachi was serialized in the monthly magazine curl corl comic between September 2008 to February 2012 now while the story contains all your favorite characters from the anime the plot lines and ways these characters are utilized vastly differs from the anime one of my favorite characters in the franchise Kya being the bigest example of this he's a lot goofier in the manga unlike his anime counterpart Kya is less of a sundur towards the idea of being friends with Jenga and having people around him takafumi understood that the Sundre Trope gets old pretty quick now while I do love that he is a lot more caring and just plays the role of a chill rival it was disappointing to see his relevance to the overall plot diminish as the story progresses after the Metal Fusion season of the story Kya doesn't do much of anything his petral strengthwise isn't really the best either he loses to mamun in the qualifying match that decid to jaan's representative in the world tournament which hurt to read no no I prefer what the anime did with kilya and Metal Masters although I'm not surprised certain characters got shafted in the manga because the pacing is pretty fast and when I saw that the length of the series was only 46 chapters I knew I was in for the G katami School of pacing Kya isn't the only character that suffers from this a lot of characters from The Metal Fusion season get shafted once the story switches to metal Masters although again it being a cur Cur comic I kind of have to switch Swit my expectations in comparison to what I'm used to with manga series from other magazines like weekly Shonen jump but that's not to say that characters in the manga pale in comparison to the anime rayoga in the manga sticks to his anti-hero Persona showcase through metal Masters all the way to the end of the series being a rival for Jinga that just wants to test his own strength instead of reverting to his old desires of a power hungry obsessed child like his anime counterpart both writing decisions have their own merits to them but I like that Jinga had an everlasting impact on Ryuga a bit more than the anime route Ryuga also loses to Jenga in their final battle so it was interesting to see Jenga truly surpass Ryuga in a one V one battle now speaking of battles the events that transpire in the Beyblade manga are even more insane than the anime that's saying something because as we all know the anime was pretty crazy people were activating domain expansions and Bays were destroying buildings with relative ease but in the Beyblade manga as early as chapter 5 bays are being destroyed to the point where only the face ball is left and you would think moments like this would only occur to Hype up a new antagonist but Jinga will destroy people's Bays without Mercy Jinga fights zo and splits flame bixes in half team Garcia plants a literal bomb at the stadium in an attempt to make Jinga forfeit the match from his injuries and missiles are launched at Rago with the D simply stopping them likees in Star Wars this allows for the extremity of stakes in the manga to surpass its anime counterpart several times instead of the iconic Hades gate domain expansion Hades kbx absorbs The Souls of the Bladers it defeats straight out of Yu-Gi-Oh resulting in all of jenga's friends dying and him having to defeat Damian to get their souls back and the absurdity of these situations is elevated through takumi art style which I love by the way one question I had that intrigued me going into this read was how Bay battles would translate into a manga format but as the series progresses so does takafumi spread game so the special move double page spreads managed to really explode off the pages another positive in regards to the battle elements of this manga is the technical aspects of bay battles in order to defeat Julius Jin Jinga changes pegasus's performance tip to race Striker's coat sharp to increase its speed to attack Gravity Destroyer and the opening it creates before activating its special move I like this development much more than Jenga just simply overpowering Julius in the anime version of this fight it allows for characters to Showcase their technical skills that relate to real life gameplay and that's not to say the anime never has moments where characters customize their B but I felt characters were never rewarded for these creative strategies so I believe the manga does a better job of making victories feel earned overall while the Metal Fight Beyblade manga isn't perfect it's a fun read that embodies what makes Beyblade beloved by so many people a story with insane hype moments that break reality clashes of ideologies and heart that motivates you to be the best version of yourself so if you haven't read the Beyblade manga yet I recommend that you do yourself a favor and lock in hopefully I did a good job of convincing you to read without spoiling the entire manga I'll have a link to the metalight Beyblade manga scans in the description below also a special thanks to the transl team for making this read possible and if you are someone that enjoys anime content that keeps it real consider subscribing so when I hit 10K you can brag about being a day one I got to get back in the kitchen to cook peace
