I recently hit God of destruction with yoshimitsu so now it's time I help you get there too da da da Yoshi guide part one all right so first we'll talk about one one so one one is Yoshi's basic 10f frame punish uh it's pretty decent plus four good damage and on Block it's minus 9 so it's safe and but the reason why this move is so good and Tak eight is cuz when we put our sword away or we go into heat it turns into this big knock down and it does even more damage uh and even better when you're at the wall it's now a wall Splat for full combo and even even better than that and this is only of course when you have your sword put away or you're in heat even if you just get a knockdown you can still pick them up like this and get a full wall combo so in this game one one is insanely good and you can do traps like this or sorry you can do traps like this and then into one one and people like pressing here but you'll probably catch them cuz like it's [ __ ] a 10 frame wall Splat bro it's really really good all right so next move on the list is fre four uh this is a really good mid good range safe on block minus six plus three on hit uh and also you can go into stance dragonfly stance and if it's on hit you get plus 14 and you can go for like a heat engager or you can even go for the unbreakable grab um but you got to be careful about this cuz if the enemy blocks the first two you know kicks and then goes for a jab this is going to happen and this is even though Yoshi does the fastest thing that he can or even tries to cancel out the stance no matter what he's going to get floated out if the enemy does a jab um but this will also open up for opportunities like this uh which is pretty tight um yeah all right so the next one is full Crouch one now this move I'm just going to talk about this briefly cuz it kind of deserves a video of its own to be honest with you but I want to mention this move because it's kind of gamebreaking um so the thing is this is a unblockable launcher that like sweeps the floor so basically uh running up to people doing this if you catch them blocking or if they are sort of hugging the ground uh is just like that that [ __ ] just works man you have to get to a certain rank before people realize that this is coming and react to it but like um if you're in the average ranks or below something like that you can just throw this out and it's going to work and you'll get a full launch and combo um you can do some crazy setups at the wall with this too but that's a video of its own that's coming so look forward to that but yeah I just wanted to mention this move real quick if you're the opponent Kasa struggles he can do maybe up forward free um uh Brian is a good example he has an orbital that's like a move where he jumps from the ground and it beats low moves uh so this move is something you can jump over uh and also it doesn't have great range so you can also kind of if you're back dashing in neutral you know you're running around in neutral he tries to throw it out the Yoshi if you just keep back dashing it's going to whiff and you can easily hop kick him for whiffing this move cuz it takes ages is to recover all right so I wanted to make a little section here where I talk about some of Yoshi's main lows and first off we'll talk about down back three uh this low is very good because it lets Yoshi puts his sword away cuz kind of in in like buil into the move is this while standing 4 uh it's a bit different this while standing four cuz it gives a wall split which your normal one doesn't um but basically if your enemy blocks this move it's going to be minus 19 which is more than laun punishable but if you do the while standing four it's actually not that bad and usually Kasia can launch it but normal while standing 15 frame while standing launchers will will not beat the while standing for so it's not launch punishable unless you're playing against someone like Kasa um and basically yeah as I mentioned the reason why I really like this move is because you kind of get some free damage and to get your sword put away uh although do keep in mind it's minus 6 or eight depending on whether or not you put your sword away so it's not your turn after this move you got to block you give your turn away by using this uh another move I want to talk about is full Crush 4 uh this move is a move that a lot of Yoshi's really like although it's launch punishable at minus 26 staggers for a big big launch um but it's very quick and it gives plus four so it's like you can keep going with this move you can like do some crazy Yoshi flowcharts you know go like this forever and stuff but it's risky uh I don't recommend using it too often but if you keep it to a minimum it's unlikely that it'll get blocked and you can kind of get some um pressure going with this um then I want to mention some kin stance moves so kin stance is 1 plus two and you get down one uh this move is very good oh whoops it has great range it's plus three on hit and you can't low period cuz he uses the weapon that's a thing in this game that's an un low Parable low uh yeah very good plus three good range uh and then also K free that's slide lawn's punishable if they block it but in situations where you for example do a let's say you do a 2 two as a punish that's a 12 frame punish you have you can go into Kino go for slide this works very often I recommend going for this don't do it every time you know cuz once they block it you get launched but yeah decent move uh use it from kinch mixups uh and then finally I'll talk about full Crouch 3 cuz it's a launcher if you put your sword away you have a uh full Crouch launch here Health sweep so again if they block it um it's minus a million and yeah very risky you can actually do something like this in no sword uh and go for a mixup cuz when Yoshi lands from this frog jump he's en crouched so you can can actually go like this uh and then you know the mix up as I show this hop kick so yeah uh this is a good POG glow uh this is like a round ending because it does zero damage uh this has decent range also some poking annoying uh but yeah that's it that's mainly it all right so last but not least uh is one of the most broken moves in the entire game uh and it is The Flash so this move is gamebreaking it comes out at 8 to 11 frames if you have your sword put away and 6 to n if your sword is out um if you connect it with your sword out and you're not in heat you only get a back two two for heating engage and very good damage which is already very good but if you put your sword away it's a full launch full combo um this move is uh the fastest launcher in the entire game um and there's a bunch of setups you can do a lot of Yoshi like Yoshi's like doing two two into flesh uh you can do down back one into flesh uh many things to play around with here um you can also use it as a punish for certain moves that when you block them you get to punish so let's say I block this hop kick boom flash so normally this hopc get minus 13 you cannot launch it in any way uh but Yoshi specifically gets a full combo by uh blocking this move if he has his sword put away so there's a thing about range so the range is fine here but if I have my sword out it's not going to work out so yeah that's also another reason why I like putting my sword away actually mainly this is it the flashh turning into a launcher um yeah but there's a many things to play around with things to lab about you know things you can block punish with the flesh um it's also very interesting and worth mentioning how if you see high level players play against Yoshi they will always hesitate to sort of of pressure him too much uh say you're playing dragonov and you do the while running to that dragovs love using and Yoshi blocks it the dragonov you'll often see the dragonov hesitate to do something because of the threat of The Flash because he knows it might come he has to be careful about using his offense um and in that sense the move is just that good like y like Yoshi gets to sort of avoid being pressured just by the threet of the move you know um but yeah broken move if you don't like using it or you don't use it uh you're not comfortable with it you have a hard time figuring out where you can sort of place it I recommend trying out some of these setups to get a feel for it but uh also just trial an error try it out uh if you feel pressured if you feel like your opponent is you know doing stuff and now he's going to press just try and throw it out see if it works um cuz getting comfortable with this move is very important if you want to be good with Yoshi cuz it's just that good game breaking move um yeah and that's going to be all
