Oh wow - This ought to be interesting.
Background: Varoufakis, as a self-proclaimed Marxist economist was added to the Syriza (sp?) party in Greece, and since he's really so good, he gave the movement both actual credibility and also populist "street cred" with the Left, if you will.
He was basically pushed out, prior to the referendum that re-elected Alexi Tsipras and most of the rest of the crew, who many say compromised too much with the ECB & Co., to get another credit extension.
For anyone else who's followed these events, they're hugely important, probably to the entire future of the EU, if not all of the West. ...Like, is it true that Varoufakis was too much of a stubborn purist for his unwillingness to compromise with more austerity? Or is it more accurate to say that Tsipras has "caved-in" to exactly what he was elected to avoid? This ought to be some good scoop.
