[Music] all right [Music] [Music] we have the Yamaha 62 the third generation and we also have the yamagasawa two zero I'm gonna do this video just like I did the other ones just gonna play through as a demo see what I think about it because I am in the process of replacing my Cannonball okay I also decided to bust out this whole thing this is my GoPro that's got the external microphone here like somebody bought me some coke all right so hopefully uh this thing won't be in the way but I haven't used this in a while for any of my YouTube videos but I've been having some issues with some audio so hopefully I can get creative on that I know I'm gonna look crazy but this is how I do this is the yanagasawa two zero all right [Music] [Music] Yana gasawa's layout feels like they modernized a vintage horn it has that type of smallness to it and the alto felt the same way it's very consistent from the alto to the tenor [Music] super free blowing really really easy saxophone to play It's amazing [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] hahaha [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] okay let's move to the Yamaha the Yamaha is actually the one that I've been seriously considering the most because a friend of mine JD Goldberg you can check him out on YouTube he has one and I played his and I was completely and totally amazed I didn't even realize it was a new instrument I thought it was like a vintage Yamaha or something that they made to compete with the series one but it was that good I was that impressed by it the 62 here is not the silver plated one like the one he has but uh let's see what we got I'm gonna come back to the Yamaha I mean I'm gonna come back to the yanagasawa and I'm gonna try this neck with it because they put this extra neck here so we'll do that [Music] I do have my um digital books that are available I got my all things diminished book here I even put in some bonus altissimo fingerings for the diminished scales and that book I have my altissimo book for alto saxophone I have my autismo book for tenor saxophone and of course I have my uh Sorella sacks saxophone sound development book that I just finished that is available as a digital purchase on pay HEPA if you like this kind of content ladies and gentlemen and you want to help support the channel you can buy me a piece of cake it's like a Kickstarter patreon type of thing any little bit really does help a lot I also do have an affiliate link with Woodwind Brasswind and they are running some fantastic fantastic sales Black Friday is coming earlier every year who knows next year Black Friday might start in February okay so I got the Yamaha 62 the third generation and I'm going to tell you right now this thing feels very cheap by comparison but this is also my favorite Yamaha tenor that they make now that I've played I've played the 875 and I've played the um the 82z but uh this one is my favorite so let's play this and see how that compares hahaha [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] mm-hmm [Music] very impressive saxophone but it does sound considerably different than the silver plated one if I was going to get one of these Yamahas which is still kind of number one on the list probably exclusively for the affordability it's going to be the uh the 62 the silver one but let me play through this a little more foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] no no all right very nice saxophone very nice especially for the price okay this instrument is definitely very free blowing let me switch over this read Because I figured this out last time sometimes you get a saxophone it's more free blowing makes the read feel like it's softer than what it really is let me switch this out okay this is the Yamaha with the stiffer read [Music] foreign [Music] okay oh let me switch over those next this is the alternate neck definitely feels tighter more focused [Music] oh [Music] really [Music] this thing displays itself man it's very nice okay [Music] if I had to pick a winner it would most definitely be the let me explain this first if you are trying saxophones I highly recommend that you record yourself doing so don't trust your ears anything that's different from your own horn is going to throw you off a little bit when I was playing both of these saxophones the entire time I was just thinking to myself I wonder what it's going to sound like when I'm listening back from my phone now being in the room that I was in I wasn't able to go out to the more open space to really hear how the sound is reflecting around so hopefully next time when I go back because I heard that they are getting a two three zero which I can't wait to play that's kind of the one I really want but the silver Yamaha 62 III is kind of the one that I'm aiming for so I'm really looking forward to being able to get back to the music store and play a wide variety of stuff when I was there they had just brought in a whole bunch of stuff and it was all laid out all they needed was a giant Christmas tree right in the middle and it would have looked awesome but I think in a couple of weeks I am going to be able to get back and do that as far as what I'm gonna trade my Cannonball for or basically sell this and get something new I still want to see when the summer Supreme is going to come out I think Selmer might say something at the beginning of next year I mean that seems to be what everybody's talking about but I think they got a bunch of other stuff in the works also so I think even when the Supreme comes out it's going to be way outside of my budget so I think realistically I want to be able to switch this out before that anyway okay so I think hands down the yanagasawa is just a leg up on pretty much every aspect of the Yamaha I really like the Yamaha and the upper register I always feel like the VTEC even though that's Honda and Yamaha has their own version of VTEC but it just feels like the VTEC kicks in when you get into the upper register on all the Yamahas that I've played that one it's where it really started to sing but the Yanni gasavo was just so well balanced and so well behaved I think it justifies its price big time I have my sax NightLight here here have this with a remote control also and I got my favorite saxophone mug ever that's just right there you guys can check that out on Amazon with the link that is below alright ladies and gentlemen that's all I got for you thanks for tuning in see you [Music]
