- Hi, I'm Jordan from Kettner Creative. In this video, we're gonna walk through all 24 of the built in effects in the Yamaha MG10XU audio mixing console. To help us do that, we plugged in the Neat Worker Bee condenser microphone. I love this microphone, I think it's a great value. It's the current microphone that I'm recommending to anybody who's just getting into home studio recording or video streaming or something like that. They just need a cheap, great sounding microphone, that's what this is. We do have some links in the description below for everything that you see in this video, if you're curious about pricing or specs or anything like that. Now, before we get into demoing the built in 24 effects on this audio mixer, let's quickly talk about how all the effects routing works on the mixer. So as we come down our channel strip here for the microphone that we're using, the microphone that you hear right now, we have the FX send. I'm gonna turn that up to this triangle position, it's just a good starting point, it's not a rule. But that's just generally where I like to start it. You can mix in all your other channels as to how much of the effects that you want. And if you don't want to use the built in effects engine, you can connect something to this FX send, like a monitor, and you can use it as a normal AUX channel. If you wanna use external effects, you would connect this to an external effects unit, bring it back into the mixer, through the stereo line level inputs right here, and then you can turn it up as your effects return and mix it in as you want. Now, for this video, we're obviously demonstrating the 24 built-in effects. So it comes down here, it runs through the effects engine where there's a program and you can press to select the program that you wanna use. There's a legend here and there's a parameter knob. The parameter knob is what makes the Yamaha MG10XU unique, and a much better effects engine compared to its competitors in the same price range. That parameter knob is really, really effective for really dialing in the effects, how you want it. Once you do that, then you can turn the effects on and you can turn up your effects return. So now we can hear that reverb of the reverb hall one here. So we have reverb hall one, and now we're gonna play with the parameter knob. Now we're just gonna start going through all 24 of the effects. So reverb hall one. Helloo. Hello. As we expand the parameter, the decay time just gets really stretched out there. Program two. Hello, hello, hello, hello. This is reverb hall two. (makes echoed "o" sound) Reverb hall three, or this is reverb room one, which is effect three. It's a lot tighter. It's a room delay. Check, check. One, two. Reverb room two. This is tighter and then we open it back up to reverb room two. Room two. This is reverb stage one. Stage one. Stage one. Stage one. One. This is reverb stage two effect number six. Reverb stage two. Reverb plate number seven. Reverb plate. Plate, plate reverb, all the way up to max now. Number eight is drum AMB. Drum AMB min all the way up to max. Drum. Hello, hello. Hello. Hello. Early Ref. Early Ref at mid. Early Ref at max. Max. All the way up to effect 10, now. A single delay. Delay. Hello. Whoa. Hello. Can you hear me now? Can you hear me now? Now. Now. Now. Now we're up to 11. That was gate Reverb, sorry. Now we're up to single delay. Check. (echoed) Check. (echoed) That makes a lot more sense. (echoed) Single. (echoed "single"). Check. (echoed "check"). Single (echoed "single"). As in (echoed "as in"). One (echoed "one"). One (echoed "one"). Two (echoed "two"). Three (echoed "three"). Up to 12, which is a regular delay. Delay. Delay. Like the twilight zone. Check. (repeated echo "check") Check. (repeated echo "check") Check. (repeated echo "check") This is The Neat Worker Bee. (echo) Vocal echo. (echo) Vocal echo. (echo) Here's the echo on the vocal. (echo) Up to karaoke. Karaoke. Kara (echo) oke. (echo) Kara (echo) oke. (echo) Now we go up to a Phaser. Phase, phaaaser. phaaaser. Then we have the flanger, flanger. Flaaanger. Flanger, flanger, flanger. Let me go up to 17, chorus one. Chorus one, chorus one, 18 is chorus two. This is the prank call effect. If you ever want to prank call your friends. Hello, hello. I have a very discrete message for you and you need to do what I say. 19, symphonic check, check one, two, three, four, symphonic, symphonic. Tremolo 20, tremolo, tremolo, tremolo, tremolo, tremoloooo. Ottawa 21, Ottawa, wa, Ottawaaaaa. Radio voice. Who has the radio voice, radio voice, radio voice, radio voice. Distortion. Distortion, hello, can you hear me now? Can you hear me now? Distortion. And 24 pitch change. Hello, this is another one that would be good for prank calling your friends. Hello? I have, check, check, one, two. Hello. Hey, hello. Hey, two different voices there. All right. So that's the 24 effects that are built into the Yamaha MG10XU audio mixing console just to make sure that's off now. I hope this video is helpful.
