Getting heavily downvoted is funny. ODB's 'Return to the 36 Chambers' was legit my first CD purchase. CREAM was the song that got me into hip-hop. I've listened to Wu-Tang consistently and often throughout my whole life to where I've heard these skits and kung-fu bits hundreds of times, if not thousands in some cases, over the last 25 years. I say I'd like a copy without them and people hate. Y'all are hilarious to me.

what's up Vanity Fair you got the whistle right here from the almighty wu-tang clan and today we're gonna be talking about kung-fu films that either we sample for our production or that inspired our look so uh that's no fun yo [Applause] hey yo this movie the master the flying guillotine yo the flying guillotine became what I use as my choice of lyrical weapon so when you hear the song whoo tang clan enough I start off not be tossing in force that my style is awesome for the Moore family Buddhism which is awesome and the survey said you're dead the Pharaoh flying guillotine chops off your head so basically blue tang ox tongue is like a sword but the good thing could beat this audio and that's why I chose that to be my weapon well the cool thing about this part here the flying guillotine hasn't come in yet right and we have a one of the allowed brothers here with the three section of staff fighting against the pole fighter the Lao clan actually becomes the best of acting team and lost you are three and the funny thing about this movie is that the guy who just got killed full of cold later goes on to be a big show brother movie star playing the lizard it's one of the Venom's and we'll get to that later the executioner is from Shaolin one of my favorite films of all time and it follows the story of hong xiguan who is the hung gar founder fighting the priest PHA may also known as the White Lotus night tiger kung foo hey better than yours if you listen to the wu-tang clan song wu-tang clan another way it starts off with Bill knio knio knio Tiger style [Applause] well that's from this movie Tigers I just film you know really inspired us and when you watch movies like Kill Bill which I later went on to score you'll see this character please primary pops up wow this is what this is this scene here is one of the pinnacle scenes in the film please pomade is no joke and he's massive the technique of moving his weak spot at will now Hong Kong is a real form of martial arts the animal fist in fact the five padam an animal fist is used in so many of kung fu movies brothers from Sammo hung Jacky Chan and even in Tony Jaa films this technique has been incorporated there's really a foundation of Shaolin style oh oh look at this got him in the heart in the Nugget scars one for the nuts he's bought with a nuts no no nuts kid he moved the nuts I don't know how a movement us he moved the nuts and you find it the 36 chambers of Shaolin this is one of my favourite films of all time I've seen it over 200 times and more to go this film which was released in America as master chiller not only gives the name of one of our whoo tang clan numbers but it also gives us the possum title to our first album enter the wu-tang 36 chambers which we asked Lee took enter from into the Dragon which another favorite movie of mines Bruce Lee we consider him to be a minor prophet this film is directed by walking along like I said one of the marks were legends but it also stars one of the greatest martial art actors since Bruce Lee Gordon Liu now Gordon Liu plays the hero here the master chiller and the scene that inspired me the most after watching all the action was the scene we says he wants to go to the highest level and he walks in and the monk is like without wisdom give his no gain and that hit me and I heard that and it sent me to start researching Buddhism and finding kung fu books and things but the beautiful thing is years later once again the blessing of the universe I'm doing a film man with the IFS and Gordon Luke plays the Abbot and my movie hey hey for me there's been various samples for this movie only 35 chambers there is no 36 so this is a scene here where he first is is the first chamber which is simply called crossing the water well I love about the cards was that while the other months are sleeping he trains by himself he does it with a hand of a leg and is holding his own leg doing the kid and play dance and that movie did trust me it became part of breakdancing five deadly venoms directed by Chang Cheh this film right here is actually the film that made me become a kung-fu fanatic you could hear the sample when a song we got called the mystery of chessboxing we saw watching this film the told character is the one we all vote for he's the one that you wish you were the one with the invincible iron skin now here's the sneak now number two practice the snake style it was known as the snake spirit this technique right here was crazy because most snake styles was used like this with a Jackie Chan but here he used the Cobra the mouth and the tail and having them both act together that really only appeared in maybe two movies ever to see the snake style done like this I think it was this one in another film called the deadly Challenger look at that Wow and I seen that as a kid you gotta imagine it I'm a 10 year old kid watching this yeah and I've seen the guy just lay on better now it was hard laying on my box boom you know they show anyway most of the films that we really enjoyed with sha brother films your brothers had big budgets it was like a studio life and all their films had a studio quality production all of a sudden here comes this independent low-budget film called the mystery of chessboxing now being the chest Skylander than a chest fanatic I was like I got to see this movie and it became my favorite there's the character in this film whose name is Ghostface Killah face color and he's one of the most ruthless villains to ever touch the screen and so they came to wu-tang I was like who is that guy everybody's going to be scared of based on their Liverpool content and that name became Ghost Face killer's name and he put on the mask like the five deadly venoms and he came in and when you watched him in the mystery of chessboxing hip hop was never the same right but no one killed you in a past life you'll find out on Ghost Face album you're here some of the quotes from this movie the 10 Tigers of Kwantung here in this film there's a conflict between these young men they never settled a beef they like these young guys can't beat each other but then the old G comes in at the end and kills the villain in three seconds me and Memphis would always say that's how our letters got to be as we get older we got to be able to get on the mic and then four bars rip a ass excuse my language wu-tang martial expert there's not many we can match up with him now this film has a great sample in it on God or I can try my wu-tang to die that's the sample right there and the wu-tang guy pulls out a sword right and he does the wu-tang style right with his sword but the crazy thing is when he gets defeated he then pours out a weapon that I already singing in the one hand Z this movie and you'll never see it again in no other kung fu movie and this is a gold statue I don't know where the production designer thought it is I know this weapon ever exists if somebody can make me one I would appreciate it it's the coolest thing ten tigers akwonton from Shogun assassin which is the intro to the Justice album Liquid Swords hospital my father was famous he was the greatest samurai in the empire most of our fluids came from kung fu movies sometime there's a lot of swing and a lot of blocking but in Japanese samurai movies it's one stroke kills Bing spoke Bing Stroke when it came time to incorporate it a film into the wu-tang world I chose this film to represent the GZA his lyrics are straight to the point [Music] don't be afraid bad dreams are only dreams choose the sword and you will join me choose the ball so Jessamine Newcomb Fujiyama was slowing down and a lot of films show up others wasn't making as many this group from Taiwan came out with Shaolin vs. the Lama which is a trilogy actually in this film you see a display of shadow boxing allowing you the skills this message sexual technique of shadow boxing allow me to demonstrate the skill of Shaolin I'll never forget being in the movie theater when the shadow boxing technique came out man the whole audience just starts screaming Wow so after mystery of chess boxing stay reigning champion as my favorite movie Shaolin vs. wu-tang comes out and this changes my whole martial art ideology it became my favorite film still holds the title tied with a diagram pro fighter the way they used their swordless in this movie and the way they use the Qigong this was really unseen before now this film is actually directed by the act of Gordon Liu which is crazy I mean all the years he played as a actor and his brother directed him he decides to direct his own film you know it's a lot of power was in his film the game of chess is like a sword you must think first before you that's the truth if what you say is true the Shaolin and the wu-tang could be dangerous wu-tang clan name is Paul from Shaolin vs. wu-tang because of the best sword technique that they they showed and I I reason that our tongue is like a sword if you think you're the best letter says you must be using the wu-tang sword and so we're the wu-tang clan we thought we were the best lyricist in hip-hop but the film that also helps cement our Brotherhood was that a diagram profound because here's a movie about brothers who sacrificed themselves for their country for their family and relentlessly against all odds for to write the name of their family we will cut class and hang out in my house and watch this film actually made some of us well up you know I made this scene here's the final scene where he's fighting against the general who actually framed this family I'm standing a dog on a pole fighter it's the name of routines which was supposed to be our final album the eight diagrams in old days you know sampling any signal to a sampler was was a headache the gift from a VCR was the worst because you had to have three about three plugs because samplers only took quarter inch plugs so you actually would have to go from your VCR and to your mixer then out of your mixer headphone jack into your sampler and then you'll get a very distorted signal and then if you missed it you gotta want it try to find it because the sampler only sampled X amount of seconds so it was a challenging way to produce you know I may show y'all it's been the RZA vanity fair' want to thank you guys for inviting me and uh wu-tang forever
