World's Cheapest S65...I Paid WHAT?!

good morning everybody man max here again going to look at another piece of junk AMG what am I looking at today 2006 Mercedes s65 for $5,000 yes folks you heard that right five thousand two hundred and fifty dollars or best offer the car has a hundred and forty nine thousand miles on it and as expected it has some issues this might be a my undoing it is not pretty it's not the ugliest thing in the world but it's not not pretty so I discovered this gem on Craigslist last night it is for lack of a better term a steal this is a 180 thousand dollar car that has literally depreciated to nil and idiots like me want to buy it so yeah dropped everything today said screw it let's drive and that's exactly what I'm doing right now headed to the Garden State Parkway taking a blast down to Long Branch New Jersey and will make my way back up in this car well not in the car towing the car back because as I said it it's got a couple of problems with it namely typical Mercedes air suspension problems and it's got a check engine light on the car is a one owner vehicle which means that this guy bought this car brand spanking new and he's lost a hundred and eighty thousand dollars on this car over 11 years think about that for a second that's painful a hundred and eighty grand over eleven years it's broken out over the years it's not that bad but it's still over ten thousand dollars a year that's painful that's really painful should be really interesting to see what this part looks like after this much ownership the CARFAX was surprisingly showed a lot of service records and the guy or girl not sure who it is yet I actually kept meticulous records themselves so it'll be very interesting to see if this is an actual cool crazy buy or if I'm just gonna put myself on this stay tuned I guess what's up everybody my name is to wash now No my name is Mad Max that's what it is and I just got the find of the year I just paid thirty seven hundred and fifty dollars for a 2006 Mercedes s65 with a queen title that's right clean title as 65 3750 I can't believe it either I didn't think I would get it this is what happens when you can't sleep at night and you start looking on Craigslist you end up spending money on very very stupid cars here we are let's take a look at it shall we yes folks 2006 at 65 I'm an idiot see if this thing actually starts all right guess I need the key probably yeah I forgot to mention the locks don't work amongst other things like the air suspension not working in the already one hundred and forty nine thousand six hundred miles runs radio does not work air conditioning works quite well vented seats work the pulse seats whole seats down here I have no idea if they work or not see if I press dynamic if that works well the dynamic seats still work holy crap I have no idea which way to press what oh wow holy cow all this stuff still works let's see the pulse here sorry I like sin the way there Wow the pulse even still works calling me surprised active body control check engine light cleared itself actually it sounds healthy fish in okay maybe not ish maybe maybe pretty bad let's go walk around it let's roll down a window so I don't lock my keys in here this is my triple-a Thome plate I can't believe that I just squirt this thing find another one people as well as the original wheels as the v12 Biturbo badges on it the thing scoffs car was definitely rear-ended both quarter panels in the back have been painted and so is the trunk not done particularly well but I mean for the money really can I complain absolutely not can see it's raining out so I'm sitting in traffic just to go over this car to put this into perspective how expensive this car is going to be to fix normal car like a v6 such as this TL that I'm driving right now four oxygen sensors how many dozen s65 have eight yeah eight oxygen sensors spark plugs v6 has six he told what that well right now twenty-four spark plugs so I got two coil packs them but they're about $1,000 each your pumps to kill bucks no no never no the refuel pumps this car has multiples of everything it has two-piece front rotors which are so lift that you could fit a quarter into the lip of the rotor I swear to God I don't think they're cheap the pads are like 80 bucks the rotors God knows you ought to find out soon enough this choir might be a car that I'm going to part out it might be a car that I'm going to fix not quite sure yet I don't think anybody's ever gotten this kind of a deal on bar like this at least one with a clean title yes clean title not be a scene it has a clean fatal actual mileage hundred and forty nine thousand six hundred miles as it rolled onto the tow truck I don't think I could have bought this part salvaged rolled over for 3750 plus I've always wanted to be 12 I can now cross it off the list I just got to buy it be Canada w16 and I'm good to go she's here [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] now she's home sitting a little low on the left but I don't a v12 AMG what have I gotten myself into so here is where all the magic happens a gigantic twin-turbo v12 with what appears to be some nasty oil leaks probably a power steering pump leak I don't know who you are my man but he built an engine that last 149 thousand miles I'm rather impressed this is kind of a neat feature Mercedes has always done this the washer fluid is actually heated by the coolant you know those are coolant lines and I'm crazy right have any cool losers aren't on this stupid though there's a few more under here too there we go yeah there's more in there yeah pretty pretty pretty nuts don't even know what half these things are there's like no space and this thing just to give you an idea of space here kind of sandwich these 12
