[Music] what a pot this is this could be it ladies and gentlemen for the next 50 years it's the World Series the Super Bowl in the final four all rolled into one welcome to Las Vegas and the biggest poker game in history the World Poker Tour Championship the World Poker Tour is a series of international poker tournaments featuring the biggest games the greatest players and the largest payouts on the planet at Bellagio the World Poker Tour sets a world record all of the WPT champions came to Las Vegas along with hundreds of hopefuls to compete in the toughest and richest poker tournament ever 343 players contributed $25,000 each to create a record-setting prize pool over 8.3 million dollars then wait 365 days for this so let's get it off nowhere else has there been more money on the table more excitement in the air Wow but now only six players remain in the fight for the 2.7 million dollar first prize and the right to be called WPT world champion an entire season comes down to one game six players only point three billion dollars ready to watch poker history here on the World Poker Tour hi everyone welcome to the crown jewel the World Poker Tour season this is the WPT championship from Bellagio in Las Vegas Nevada I'm Mike Sexton and I'm Vince Van Patten and Mike if you're gonna win a poker championship this is the one you want to win I mean we've been talking about this all season long it's here and it's been well worth the wait a record eight point three million dollars in total prize pool the winners gonna take home a whopping 2.7 million dollars in cash we started out five days ago with three hundred and forty three players we are down to the final table but only one will be crowned the WPT world champion let's meet the six potential legends and watch them battle it out to see who will be crowned the king of poker on the short stack tonight is Steve Brecker now Steve used to work in computer software a very sharp player and he's got 1 million 460,000 and chips starting out in fifth chip position is Russell Rosenblum Russell is an attorney from Bethesda Maryland he only plays a few tournaments a year and he's sure picked the right one to play this week he's made it to the final table of the biggest game in poker history seat number one Hasan Habib he is definitely the most experienced player at the table and all the other players know it Hassan's been to many World Poker Tour events but this is his first final table he is definitely the player to watch Richard Grijalva is a 22 year old student from UC Santa Barbara be qualified online to get into this tournament and with nearly three million dollars in chips he's got a great shot to win this title at 22 years old all right seat number six Matt matrice another young player at the table he's only 26 matt is a graduate of Yale University he's got three million eight hundred and sixty thousand an hour chip leader from Stockholm Sweden is Martin Nick nave Martin is a sensational poker player who in fact finished 15th in this event last year he's an aggressive player with nearly 4.4 million dollars worth of chips I look for him to dictate tempo tonight well it's a very exciting lineup we're about to get started okay the players are gonna be starting out with a $10,000 ante and blinds will be thirty and sixty thousand that seems like a huge number but folks there's nearly 17 million dollars where the chips on the table here and here we go starts on house son he throws away a nine deuce over to Steve Brecker picks up a pair of threes wired pair right off the bat now Steve the guy that I would consider to be probably the most conservative at the table it's coming in the first pot he just calls doesn't raise I'm quickly going out Richard going out now it's on Russell so what Jack nine of diamonds Mike not a bad starting hand he calls another thirty thousand Matt matrix with Kington Matt knocks the table doesn't take his option to race oh here we go three-way action on hand one of the WPT championship flop is king jack seven with two spades look at this two guys already hit pairs well Matt mate roses flop the top pair rustles flop second pair he checks and Matt checks the two kings very interesting and Steve still has its miserable threes he has position on these players what's he gonna do with it well he just limped in there's a slogan in poker beware of the limper looks like he's lining up to make a bet here and he bets 200,000 on his two little threes there bravely bets into these guys because of the WPT cam we can see both players have him beat but will this bet drive them out Russell staring at second Perry has two jacks remember but he's gonna go out he winces and throws it away now round two Matt matrice who has a pair of kings here how is he gonna play them he went to Yale he should be able to figure this out he's only 26 years old he got into this event on a satellite put up a hundred dollars parlayed it into this like a million behind steve-o it says how much have you got notified understand three you would think players sitting at the final table at least on the first hand would know exactly how many chips every player had sometimes players like to ask other players they want to hear him talk detective tell perhaps good point right and the pressure cooker Matt mate Rose with top pair so much at stake here tonight when it's gonna get 2.7 million dollars for this event and Matt calls doesn't buy it he's going in with them and he just wants to see what comes off there's a possible straight draw a possible flush draw out there he's the turn and the six of clubs comes on now this tells Matt that if his opponent was on a draw that card did not help him at all so now let's see how he plays his two kings Matt matrice he's a writer 250 and now he's a better well he's gonna bet he doesn't want to give his opponent another free card as we say he bets 250,000 very nice bet by Matt made rules there Steve breakers whole plan here just foiled right in front of him he's got to look down at those creepy little threes now now what do you do Levent you gotta think what he's considering doing is moving in here if he's gonna play this and I would think can't imagine he would call with two threes here that is always an extreme option you could go over the top and try to bluff this guy out it could work but you won a little more air time it's first hand here I can lose it all in one hand there's an amateur actor up in Reno he loves to act this is a staging area all right well they better go stage left here be my advice you might think he has to he could go over the top of them and get him out good make that play but take a lot of nerve here on hand one I figured Steve to be the most conservative player at this final table honestly he's not gonna challenge it does fold doing the wise thing well it was a good lay down by him right there so there you have it the math was it from Yale Matt maker takes down in the first pot Steve just over the top decides to put on Paul's game you don't know whether that's gonna throw the hand away or not it's questionable sometimes just gotta lay it down he can breathe again Vince it's always good to get that first pot under your belt Matt mate Rose has done so here you know this Yale graduate and online qualifier events he's also a writer he's written a poker book who hasn't these days everyone has had actions back on Steve Brecker this time he has ace four of clubs pretty good starting hand got away from those three years the last two honesty I notice he capped his cards they're generally a sign the guy's gonna play a pot when he does this what a decision he is a short stack at this moment he's definitely interested he's loading up here it looks like he's gonna come in here for a hundred and forty thousand yes boldly grazing here with ace four clubs and look at this Marten dick knave our chip leader sitting right behind him is picked up ace queen also another good starting hand so let's see how he plays it how many four hundred he's gonna go up to makes it four hundred thousand ago so he has re raised the Brecker alpha quickly going out russell folding huntin that matrice he's got king seven he folds zomick's it he's five deuces get crazy with it back around a Steve Brecker and remember only has ace four of clubs it's got a little bit of a problem here now can't blame a guy for taking a shot on raising but when you get re-raise 400,000 by the chip leader and you're only looking on days for pretty easy lay down at the last hand he had that three he was pushed around by Matt he's just thinking to himself hey listen these guys are trying to intimidate me it's not really a short stack Lance he's the little man at the table yes but he has over a million dollars for the chips Emily he's all-in got to push it Vince he's raising nearly another eight hundred thousand here gutsy move by the amateur actress key Wow what actually on here at this WPT championship man is gonna cost Martin nearly 800,000 to call article Oh any call it's a disaster potential for Steve record mathematically Martin's getting over two-to-one on his money here you know in fact he's in a dominating position now to take Steve Brecker out of this tournament he has ace Queen Steve has ace four here's the flop it doesn't help either play it's jack seven three well right now Steve has to catch a four or two running cars to make a straight or he's going to be out of here in six place just that fast here's the turn coming up no it's the king of Spain it's a king so right now Steve Brecker is down to a lonesome for amateur actors saying at tu brute a can't believe it happening so quickly river card that's a three so that's going to do it for Steve Bricker a stunning development here Steve Brecker going out on the second deal taking his final bout here nice Steve breath I thought would be the most conservative player at the table and yet he came out swinging wildly the first two hands and it cost him but it all happened so fast you can't blame them got involved got in over his head right now Steve Brecker walking away into the bowels of Bellagio so just that quick we are down to five players here now you're witnessing this is called elimination giggles but someone gets a limited into the final table it's so happy it should be you just knock somebody out you've made more money we're down to five in Las Vegas don't go away we'll be right back with more from the biggest poker game in history right here on the World Poker Tour we play for big pots small stakes and the chance to say read em and weep for the weekends the all-nighters and the lunch hour we play for the legends and for the unknowns who dream of winning it all [Music] for the bad beats and the pocket kings we sometimes have the sense to fold we play at Full Tilt Poker calm [Music] the goal like anything else is to win and to win is not about the money and I'm sure a lot of people can't understand how it can't be about 2.7 million dollars but I can tell you every single player at that table wants to win the most prestigious event in the history of poker and this is that welcome back to the WPT championship at Bellagio we are in the breathtaking Fontana lounge watching the culmination of a record-breaking 35 million-dollar season here on the world public pool this is it Mike the biggest event of the season every hand has millions riding on it let's take a look at see who's winning right now now so far the chip leader increasing his chip lead over his opponents here yes he is when he's gonna take 2.7 million dollars on next night out gets over 300,000 but remember that's like a 2.4 million dollar swing between the guy who goes out next and the guy who wins a lot at stake here Hasan throwing away 87 here's Martin who's picked up two aides of incest he's got the octopus's at a wired pair of eights real hand also known as snowmen 215 and he's gonna bet 250,000 with the two eights not content to just call this time this could be a mistake because right next to him Richard Grijalva has got a wired pair of kings the double rulers 650 and he bet 650,000 so he has raised 400,000 here with the two kings these were yeah these are what five hundred thousand yeah did you see Santa Barbara picking up a big hand here amazing story got here by qualifying online for $86 and a chance to take home 2.7 million dollars at 22 years of age Russell ducks is 7 3 fold and now it's 400,000 the Marten and he quickly folds a 2 eights that's none of it so there you saw it the 22 year-old coming over the top of the chip reader to pick up a pot nice play right there by Richard my name is Richard Grijalva I'm from Santa Barbara California I'm a student we can play tons of hands online way more than many of the top pros do in a year so for my age I believe I've had a lot of experience Richard put a little in the armor of our chip leader martin with those two kings yes he did now before we get too far along into the game it is time that we lay down the rules that we live by here on the World Poker Tour to start each player's dealt two cards facedown then the dealer puts out five community cards face up on the table each player combines the two down cards with the five community cards to make their best five-card poker hand that's right and betting however is what this game is really all about you get your first two cards then you bet then the dealer lays out the first three community cards this is known as the flop you bet again you're 50 then the dealing lays out the fourth card we call that the turn another round of betting happens the last the fifth community card this is called the river lay down then there's a final round of betting what's left in the hand turns the cards over see me Vince this is serious business folks these guys are playing for the lottery 2.7 million dollars there's a certain intensity about this group there's so much money involved back to Martin but he's got the Queen deuce off suit this time not gonna play it round to Richard this time I was ten nine he lays his hand down here's Russell on the button with nine five a spade he folds his buddy Matt matrice we're down to the Battle of the blinds Matt and his son Matt looks at a 75 he calls out of a small blind hoping to see a flop here and his son with Jack and a four of Hearts son says okay give us a flop so a battle of the blinds between Matt and that's on flop is king Queen Queen helps neither player all paint a Picasso flop as we say got to chunk hands here one man has a seven in a fire but yet he's making a bet at this pot very interesting a hundred thousand right he does Sun and look at this vents her son is just calling this bet with a jack and a four awful hands well he's looking to take this pot away from him later on obviously the diamonds comes up on fourth street let's see if Matt continues to fire and when a guy calls you on that flop and you're looking at seven five you certainly don't have much Matt indeed checks here on 4th Street and his son look at the look on his face he looks like he means business and there you go he's betting 175,000 it is beautiful to watch right into Matt well it may be a Picasso flat but Hasan is playing this hand with artistry folks I can tell you he since Matt didn't have a king or a queen or big cards or he would have raised before the flop that's either gonna have to raise this pot or go out I can't see him calling here and he does lay it down as his good stuff well folks you saw how well Hasan played that hand that was program folks he called the bet on the flop to take the hand away from him later on sensing Matt was weak in fact he was nice poker by husana beam right there he's a great poker player now he counted this tournament through a satellite so he didn't have to put up all the big bucks and here we go again it's going rich at this time the student from UC Santa Barbara going out glosso looks at an ace queen here good starting hand he's the low man right now in chips still has nearly made in a half dollars more he doesn't have to push the panic button yet try it again comes in for 180,000 doing what you're supposed to do that quickly goes out now it's back on our son sounds got King 7 off suit 90 he's got the intensity of Jack the Ripper this guy he's got his game face on no doubt about it he does he's intimidating at the poker table lays it down and now Martin in the big Buy and picks up a nice hand King Queen but lays it down nothing to do with this that's his timing is impeccable so far he's gotten away from good like two eights in the king/queen one of his beats and these played hands like a spleen when he had the best hand just amazing timing by this guy so far that's gonna give that small pot to Russell and look at him he's laughing it up great guy in attorney Vince here's what's amazing he is the mentor of Matt matrice he's one to talk Matt how to play poker yet here they are both at the final table of the biggest event in the history of poker that is a pretty amazing story that is right now it's back on Russell he's got the Queen three he's not gonna play it Matt looks at King eight throws it away a son with Jack seven he's in position on the button but he lays it down to 25 here comes Martin has picked up ace 10 here he's gonna raise out of the small blind makes it 225,000 to go and he is pushing it into the college kid from Santa Barbara Richard looks down at Jack eight of clubs we might want to make a statement here you may be the chip leader but you're not gonna bully me around here I'm gonna call you he is challenged him he wants to see a flop and that's what he's doing so here we go Martin with ace ten Richard with Jack eight here comes a flop seven four deuce no help to either player an abysmal flop but it's gonna be on Martin first will he continue John yes he is he's bet 200,000 here it's up to Richard now look at this he's just got Jack eight of clubs and Vince he is just calling this bet he's making the same play Hasan just made that is right he's calling on the flop of nothing in hopes to take the pot away from his opponent later on and look at this as six comes up now he's got an inside straight draw Martin's respecting as he has checked will the setup work here will he do it 350 350 this is a very advanced poker player watching here folks Cole on the flop with nothing with the intent of taking the pot away from your opponent later on Richard has done it here as the son dad earlier oh that's a lot of narrow by the kid in the Darth Vader glass is taking that fight he set them up he took it down just tremendous poker here at the WPT championship final table stay tuned we'll be right back for more incredible action here on the World Poker Tour [Music] [Applause] [Music] welcome back to the WPT championship from the beautiful fontana lounge at Bellagio let's get back to the highest stakes poker game in history I'm out there in the front row here it's a pretty good effort to defend this tile that's it was one of the chip leaders at the end of day two every superstar in the poker world played this event they were all here but it's these five going at it right now actions gonna be on mat mate Rose looks a 10-6 off suit and folds sounds got a queen 10 this time looks like it you need to play a lot of hands tonight well he's gonna call so he limps in as we say by just calling the size of the big blind now here's Martin said behind him with ace five of Hearts he also calls just calls it Richard seven four not much of a hand but getting tremendous pot odds so he calls also and Russell knocks the table with his five three so here we go folks four-way action out of five players here at the final table here comes a flop everyone's playing here it is flop is ace Jack eight with two diamonds look at this Martin's hit his pair of aces well Richard checks Russell who has nothing he checks now we round to Hassan now Hassan has a two-way straight draw a king would make him a straight and the nine would make him a straight he's gonna get aggressive with it he's gonna make what we call a semi-bluff betting on a drawing hand he's making the move into Martin our chip leader who has the aces I don't see how Martin plays is two aces there's a possible flush draw out there certainly possible straight draws how does he want to play this top pair and he's massaging the chips there it seems like I might get 400,000 he makes it 400,000 here balls going up so he has rear aged with the top pair sure Richard it's not not too late to Richard quickly going out as well as Russell then went back to his son and now it's gonna cost him another two hundred and forty thousand to call here saying it was that when I get myself into here he's trying to catch lightning in a bottle he's trying to catch a king or nine either one of those cards would give him the nuts as we say it's gonna gamble and he is decided to call here a pot between Hasan and Martin over a million dollars out there what pressure Martin is put on us on here now he doesn't have a great second card the kicker he's got to be concerned that's for sure been uncomfortable with their hands here we go with the turn I think Russell of those four hearts comes on the turn four does not help us son didn't get it how do you save face remember you bet the flop he got raised what's he gonna do here on 4th Street Vince he's going for some chips here oh you got to respect this they bets 300,000 and that's a relatively small bit considering there's nearly 1.1 million in the pot it is I'll call Martin is not gonna buy it his made this call yep he's calling him onto the displeasure of Hassan he wants his straight Kenny out draw Martin here here we go to the river well the river card is a queen now Hassan has made two Queens so now he's chicken in hopes the Queens might be good they both check it quickly they're not good and Martin is going to pick up a nice pot here nearly 1.7 million dollars with the two aces the man from Sweden and everything that goes over onto her son of that hand did just mixed it up top to involved I'll tell you one thing had a sign made a big bit at that pot at the river it would have been a very difficult call for Martin they're looking at a possible straight and a possible flush on the board with just an A Center five but great instincts playing Martin very confident taking control of this event I think I'm the best player out there everything from second to sixth is going to be a disappointment I really love to compete I'm definitely haters my name is Martin became the life is all in well with that pot Martin dick knave increases this chip lead and Russell on the bottom right now with 1.4 million well Martin is obviously a brilliant poker player and with that last win Mike he has over six million dollars worth of chips action is gonna be on Richard now and look at this he picks up two jacks a nice hand 180 at the wired pair a real hand comes in for 180,000 kind of push it up he's made the raise but right behind him Russell's got ace Queen yes he does mantilax is over at Richard this is gonna try the eyeball chart later here in the meantime look at Richard it looks like a computer player frozen to the keyboard iris gonna raise it though on him I notice he says I'm gonna raise it but now he's still glancing back over Richard he wants a reaction off of him saying I raised six hundred and now he decided about six hundred thousand what a enormous raise quickly goes out a sign with Jack seven not gonna play he's gonna fold Martin folds back on a man Richard let's Jeff left and now Richard with two Jags six seven has been re raise dear he's inquiring about money 760 a little last kiss isn't quite five I'm all-in he's gonna go all in with it yes yeah it's flown in there so he has put the test to Russell right here Russell down to about eight hundred thousand I call he's gonna call it he's got the gamble here having committed six hundred thousand of the pot already that's when I put you on well he knows it's a coin flip situation the jacks just a slight favor on to take a chance but basically pretty close to even money here so the attorney Russell can he survive no yeah it comes 1087 not good for Russell so right now Russell's gonna have to catch an ace a queen two running cars to make a straight or two running hearts to make a flush Russell rosenbloom on the ropes here gotta go to married here we go with a turn card Russell needs some help can he get it you get the four hearts this gives them a flush draw he's a little outside shot there now we can win the pot with any ace any Queen or any heart can he hang in there can we be a fifth place finish here at Bellagio oh look folks the pressure is intense can he do it no he doesn't do it it's gonna do it for us amazing blue we opted the gamble there is a low man on charity heiresses let it go he gets a hug from Matt may truce what's that nice congratulations all around but that's the end of it for Russell rosenbloom he is just devastated Russell we're gonna pick up 332 I'm gonna walk away Russell rosenbloom you have nothing to be ashamed of no the winning tournament event you got to win those races he didn't do it there he is out in fifth place I'll tell you something this Richard can play he has the heart of a lion this kid has game believe me folks we're gonna see more of this kid of the year to go by Richard Grijalva knocking out Russell rosenbloom this is the greatest tournament ever assembled the structure was great and the players are great everything about it was fantastic to make it this far against this field I mean I really can't be too upset I'm upset now but I know I'll look back and be happy I made it this far so we are down to four here at Bellagio and prize money substantially starts increasing now the next guy out is gonna get over 450,000 actions gonna be on his son looks down and a pair of fives got the wired pair here the speed limit he limps in as we say behind him Martin an 87 with the button in front of him he's in position he's gonna call just call doesn't go up here now Richard with a nice hand the small blind King Jack of spade he's also gonna call what's going on with these guys now we're back around to Matt and that with Queen six offsuit he's in the big blind here he checks so here we go folks a hundred percent of the players in this pot four-way action this is like a home game here comes the flop eight five four bingo for a sonnies flop three fives they're set at visions of sugarplums going off in his head now Richard checks Matt with it a gut shot straight draw he also checks my son betting away finally yeah that's a hundred thousand here and Martin also with an eight high straight draw he opts to call here Richard throwing away his king Jack and Matt folds to rivals going at it once again Hasan's got his man where he wants him he's flopped a set here's the turn well a queen comes off a sign with three fives here he's going for his chips I'm gonna give us an opponent a free chance to beat him here on this gut shot straight draw Martin lays his hand down I'm gonna take it down and that's why you limp in with small pears and hopes to prop a set where they might win a nice pot Hasan big sow their picks up the pot my name is Hassan beam I live in Los Angeles when I was in college I just want to be a businessman class changed I guess at first it was tough but it's a toughest way to make an easy living no Hassan has been in great shape every day this week this is a five day event and at the end of every day Vance he's been like in the top three in chip position so he has never really been pressured or short-stacked as we say in this tournament we are down to four big money out there and let me tell you something there's a lot of sweaty pumps out there as well stay tuned [Music] I dreamt that I was 10th or 11th place in a poker tournament and it wasn't as well as I'm doing now so when I woke up in the morning that was a pretty good feeling to know that I was doing better than I could even dream about literally Poker Tour Championship at Bellagio on punkers biggest stage amateur actor Steve Brecker went all-in on the second hand of the game the morning it was the first to bow out so that's gonna do it for feed Brecker attorney Russell Rosenbloom thought he had a case with an ace Queen 600 but God sentenced a fifth-place no he doesn't do it Swedish sports better Martin dick nice jeez the jib lead but with two rising stars and a poker pro still in the hunt Oh think they have what it takes to be proud that king of poker right now Vince these four remaining players are going to have a great payday just a matter of how much they're gonna win the fourth place finisher gets over 450,000 the third place guy over 700,000 the runner-up gets 1.4 million and our winner gets over 2.7 million a lot at stake here we go a chip leader now Martin Dick case looks at four deuce goes out use Richard on the button up against the blinds has a nice hand King Queen offsuit 180 he's gonna raise it make it 180 thousand that's what he's supposed to do with that hand right into our Yale grad Matt matrice who's got a real hand he's got a wide pair of sixes here let's see how he plays him he's been a little quiet lately he's finally got a wired pair he's just gonna call wants to proceed cautiously here see a flop first Assad with 76 offsuit now visible asan want to get involved with the 7-6 he lays it down so we got a pot between the two young guns richard Grijalva the 22 year old student with the king queen matt mate rose a 26 year old with the two sixes it's a flop flop his Queen Jack deuce all spades and the sixes have dried up there from that well he has an under pair but he also has a flush draw himself fence he checks Richards hit his pair Queens and he's got the king of spade nice place to be 200 and here comes Richard he's gonna bet this hand he bets 200,000 not gonna play it slow now Matt face for the decision here he has a pair he has a flush draw these are the kind of hands that can get players in trouble if they're not careful you can't think he'd really consider this and he doesn't well he lays it down he could have considered it but he wisely did not and richard picks up the puck not that time Ricky not that time he calls that hand might had you but I don't think so his head examined I mean that would be one of the loosest calls we've seen on the World Poker Tour he knows that wisely throws his hand away against the lionheart thanks you can't help but wonder what these two guys are thinking they're 22 years old 26 years old they're vying for a 2.7 million dollar first prize at worst they're gonna take on one more 450,000 oh it's very impressive so here we go again it's gonna be unwritten he lays down a three deuce and Matt lays his hand down yeah that's on us son sons got an eighth for offsuit and he's gonna splash around with them wants to try to see a cheap flop here and checks it with an equally horrible hand ten deuce so here comes the flop flop is ace ace 10 with two diamonds Tucson checks 125 Martin he's got a piece of that he's hit his tens yeah he's got 210 so he's gonna bet he bent 225,000 you know what kind of son be thinking about he's gotten eight and a 4 here he can only be thinking about making a play on this pot he's not buying this it seems like saying wait if this guy really had an ace or even a 10 would he be betting at this point he's there's some trickery going on he knows he didn't raise it before the flop so I don't think I saw him put him on an ace here look at this Vince's son just calls the hundred thousand with an eight and a four he's got to give action now seen the play before what this means to me is he's gonna try to take this pot away later on and the three comes up Tom's gonna look back at his hand here now I can't imagine why he would call on the flop if he wasn't going to bet now but it doesn't do what he checks to 25 this is peculiar and Martin quickly leaves out and bets 225,000 and Hasan folds his hand a very strange played by Hassan right there oh yeah if you could eat up on his strategy wait a minute Vince let's go back and take a look at that last hand 125 he pulled on the flop what the original intent I'm sure of betting out on fourth or fifth Street there but he changes my Invents he decided well maybe Martin had a hand he didn't want to fool with the chip leader end up check on 4th Street 225 and then jettison his hand he just had bad vibes all of a sudden well I just got one tough customer on his left Martin dick Neath the knife just cutting up his opponents here got to be wary right now it's on our Yale grad mat mate Rose he's going out here's a sauna Beebe on the button with Queen Jack of Clubs a pretty good hand against the blinds but he opts to just call here with it with the button in front of him that means he's in the best position and Hold'em poker and look at this Martin has picked up ace King always got big slick in the small blind he's gonna torture his rifle once again here he's reaching for some chips some raisin chips I'll make it 350 and the healthy raise man it's up to 350,000 I always kind of put him through the pain Factory Richard going out with 84 and look at this on quickly jettison his hand doesn't even consider calling with a queen Jack of Clubs he's saying leave me alone I've been cut up enough tonight by the night let me breathe a little bit well that's it was a tough tournament for everyone trying to get here tonight in case you're wondering how this season's WPT champions fared here sean has to fill offense everyone wants to win their way into the biggest poker game in history but there are only six seeds of the final table and that means even some of the best we're left behind 343 of the greatest players in poker began a five-day betting festival agio all hoping to be the one to win the 2.7 million dollar first-place prize son played it cool others contain their excitement at the end of day one Noli francisco is the only WPT champion to be knocked out but after day to 161 more players hit the canvas including WPT Player of the Year Erick Lindgren Bill Locke Foxwoods champ cowboy Corkins and Paul Phillips on day three three-time winner Gus Hansen Kayode with his ace king then it was Mel Judah Phil Gordon antonio esfandiari and barry greenstein Reno winner Michael Kimi was the only WPT champion to make it to day four but ended up settling for an 11th place finish so for the heavyweights that made the final table they battled with the best in one giving them bragging rights for a lifetime when the chance to win Millions let's get back to the action back to Martin this time you look down at Queen six offsuit and folds richard Grijalva when he's in position on the button makes it 180,000 to go with King 10 yes he does quickly going out was Queen three oh and look at this Hassan has finally picked up the hand he's looking for two kings this is what you dream about folks what's happy days are here again look at that Aries and he's gonna raise him back right back in your face right he raised it 300,000 more and he has his man Richard in a terrible position here he's in a bind here will he make this call and he's gonna call advanced whoo instincts off a little bit there he's gonna give action to the man well he's gonna try to catch something on the flop to beat these two kings he's gonna need a lot of something he's our flop flop is nine three deuce that's not gonna help him no it's up to the son he's gonna lead out and bet no free cards here about 350,000 quickly bets it Owen Sound quickly calls him oh this could be the mistake of a lifetime here for the young kid he has taken his shot a couple cards to come right now has some so excited way out in front of this absolute mess for Richard yeah they've got to dodge a heart or a jack or queen on 4th Street he's the turn we'll have to do is it's over now it's irrelevant to less card Kasana beam is going to win over a four million dollar pot here the folks before you chastise Richard too much and call him a complete idiot for moving in there with nothing recognize the fact that poor his opponent to call him there he literally has to have a big over pair a pair bigger than nines to make that call there it turns out Hassan did but had has not had a sking or ace Queen or something he would have thrown the hand away and then Richard would look like a genius you're right Mike he made the right move at the wrong time that time he has to pay for it he has just doubled up the sonnet and a major pot it was over four million dollars in that pot putting us on right in the thick of things now they'll go away right back with more from the World Poker Tour Championship in Las Vegas I had a full boat and he had four night so I got beat out by quad by Hongli you know I couldn't have gone out in a better blaze of glory yes George oh hello darling you're early I was just running this Stern here through a company's disciplinary procedures she's new here in charge of incentives and retribution it's a new management concept new and every week boring anyway Mildred mr. and Miss turn my wife bad poker face doesn't matter when you play online at tardy holcom it's easy a Taurus [Music] back to Las Vegas Nevada we are at the Bellagio for the World Poker Tour Championship and we are down to four players and right now Martin dick hey from Sweden is Phil our chip leader with seven and a half million dollars in chips the antes and blinds have gone up we're talking about a $10,000 ante with 1500 for the blinds action is on Richard posted an 8 deuce off suit and folds to Matt look at this he's got a wired pair of nines a good starting hand very nice 300 he is gonna raise it makes it 300,000 ago so he triples the size of the big blind the Sun quickly goes out with Martin with the king queen and the big blind calls 200,000 more yes he's not gonna get pushed around we're gonna have a pop between Martin and Matt here comes the flop ace 10 3 like it's Martin an inside straight draw he'll be on him first and he's checking Matt mate rose just has a pair of nines there's two over cards out there 400 he's gonna pull the trigger for 400,000 oh man ravely betting it and he gets Martin to quickly fold his hand a nice bit by Mat Latos right there to win that pot we didn't get an opponent a chance to catch one of those place cards up we beat him this guy's amazing his baby-faced he doesn't really look like a poker player I mean he looks more like what he is you know college student something straight out of risky business you know running around in his underwear well make no mistake about it t is not only a math wizard he is a poker wizard yes he is and he paid that beautifully so much at stake here Vance remember the next guy out gets a nice payday a $457,000 for a tremendous amount of money at stake between fourth in first place with his life-changing money right now it's on Hasan who's got just two Jack eight in his hand and he's gonna force the action here with a jacket off suit he makes it 250,000 to go going out on a limb but right next to him Martin the thorn in his side all afternoon he's got a big head he's got East Jack another good starting hand six hundred thousand ago gonna punish his boy comes right over the top of us on into the kid who's got an interesting he's got Queen Jagger clubs but he's quickly gonna lay it down on that kind of hand you would play when it's been raised and re-raise in front of you Matt lays his hand down and for his son wisely lays it down it takes his ego out of his hand close when he does the right thing there and then she called Martin big knife that knife and I'll tell you one thing he is cutting him up right now he's an ugly for her son he has turned into the party kick here cut up well I think we're getting a taste of why these players have made it to this final table we're seeing some great folk here well Mike you know you look at the top players and you try to figure out what sets them apart what makes them the consistent winners on the World Poker Tour well Shauna Hyatt spent some time with the WPT greats to see what makes them champions in this week's WPTZ 4 corner brought to you by Anheuser World select what does it take to make a great poker player luck smarts instinct that's a start but to be a WPT champion you need a few other secret ingredients many players have made it to a WPT final table but if you keep finding their way back watching champions on TV may give you a glimpse of their greatness but if you really want to know what makes them special ask the people who play with them it's knowing when to attack the right pots at the right time and always want to know in every single pot that you possibly can but at the same time knowing when you can't win it just the ability to really have absolute faith in your convictions and follow through even when all your money is on the line I think the key difference is the way the real pros handle the pressure situation the real pros stay calm collected and they make them others are just each champion may have their own special abilities but there's one ingredient they all seem to have I think that the thing that makes a champion the most is heart they got a lot of heart very charity Greenstein is our champion no in the end it comes down to heart we start with all the superstars but these guys are left all playing very well in the action right now is on Matt matrice looks to the King six off suit and folds and what's on his son I just has ten six off suit here he's in position on the button does he see an opportunity here and he's just gonna call here oh that is interesting I can't see calling 100,000 with a 10-6 there now Martin with ace four just gonna call as well a check and Richard checks is eight five of diamonds and here comes the flop three-way action Jack nine-nine with two diamonds now Richards flopped a flush draw he has he's got four to the flush but he's got Mart betting into him yes he does Martin bets 300,000 who's gonna put Richard to the test here with that little eight high flush draw a Mullins and he's gone all this well he'd not only passed the test with flying colors he's moved all his chips and their events he's raising on to come here the semi-bluff he's gonna push it back into Martin's face now the question is is Martin considering calling with the ace high here assuming his opponent has a draw I can't believe he'd want to call one point eight million dollars with this hand no he's pushed Martin out of this yes he has he lays it down to a nice aggressive read there by Richard Grijalva he's with the flesh ball to pick up that pot incredible play by this young kid he is a fearless warrior that's not backing up from anybody including the big fat chip leader now what happens if you win 2.7 what happens to your education then Mike poke a professor at that school who says you don't learn anything in school don't go away we'll continue with more action from the World Poker Tour Championship right after this this to me is the greatest honor in poker congratulations welcome back to the WPT championship the pinnacle of poker I'm Shana Hyatt and here's a recap of the action now only four left to fight for the 2.7 billion dollar first place price the two college students richard Grijalva and that may close have managed not to get expelled out of the game poker veteran Hassan Habib Gees is cool while chip leader Martin dick nave continues to pitch pokers equivalent of a perfect game but with millions in practically every pot this battle on the felt is far from over now back to the champions of commentary Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten it has been a high-stakes poker seminar here today absolute creative geniuses at work well you're right about that Vince it's pretty obvious as to why these four players have made it to this final table this week they are playing terrific polders actions gonna be on his son this time he's got seven six off suit he's not gonna get involved around the horn to Martin he's got Jack's six just basically a junk hand Vince but he's going for chips he's gonna raise it to 25 quite into Richard Richard folds his hand but look as matt has a hand he's got two five the old speed limit 55 the online players call this hand presto and he's just gonna call the race so here we go Matt with the two fives Martin with a Jack six high quality poker here's a flop flop is ace ace four very interesting no Matt has the two fives is he gonna bet him here where he's gonna check the Martin the raiser Martin trying to pretend like he's very strong here no peach X and Martin quickly checked right behind him he's not falling for T's not bite and here's the turn ten comes off on the turn now how do you come out and play mass wondering is are my two fives good so I want a bet here or do I want to give my opponent a free card that might beat me always thinking to himself have I been trapped here this guy's slow playing three aces who knows did raise before the flop 300 he's coming out he's gonna bet it well that's a nice bet by Matt right here that's 300,000 thinking the two fives are good we can see that they're good is evaluated this hand perfectly Illinois's but look at this right behind we're gonna I can't believe this it's gonna raise this amazing Vance he is raising here on the throne black folks five hundred thousand more a half a million dollar raise on absolutely nothing but a bluff he's just gonna put pressure on Matt mate Rose and look at Matt what a decision he's faced with now that's the knife in the stomach once again hit attend he says did you hit a 10 no he didn't hit a 10 Matt he's on the stone Bluff here he hit a raise but believe me folks if you're sitting in math seat right now with two fives you are squirming just like he is we got the WPT can we see the manipulation this is ugly that's not sure it at the river to worry about is that well he lays it down no he since the fires were good I got a feeling but I just couldn't stand the pressure good Martin put on him so therefore he folded you gotta tip your hat sometimes you better tip your hat to Martin he is a poker player extraordinaire to make a move like that to come over the top with absolutely nothing I said thank you he earned that pot left no doubt about it we are watching championship poker here tonight just outstanding play by the knife just running off of the table here just taking everyone down schooling the young player what a tremendous move Martin techniques we're down to four winners gonna pick up 2.7 actually long literature looks at an 87 offsuit 375 Richard the lion-hearted is going up the exit 275 Matt quickly going out I went to Hasan who's got a six off suit and he lays it down I granted Martin he's got King deuce of clubs and he's interested well everything's going his way so far so why not call a little raise with that so it's King deuce of clubs for Martin a seven for Richard and look at this folks could be some fireworks here Martin checks a nut flush draw got four to the flush but we know Richard of course has aces up 400,000 he's gonna bet 400,000 he said make Martin pay for this Martin goes all-in with his first row here and Richard quickly calls and call by Richter here great instincts by Richard the lion-hearted got the to agent Martin with the first row which if you double up here Mike this is over a five million dollar pot folks richer the two aces Martin with a flush draw stay tuned we'll be right back on the World Poker Tour welcome back to the World Poker Tour Championship and the moment of truth for 22 year old college student Richard Grijalva he's all-in with a pair of aces against chip leader Martin dick names flush draw and Richard double up or will this test be his final exam Richard the lion-hearted hang in there he's in front in his hand he could double up here he's got a Dodger flush Richard has to have this hand hold up to stay alive in this tournament can he do it a seven comes on the turn he's done it so far he's in pretty good shape he's made aces and sevens he has to dodge a club if he does so he'll double up went over a five million dollar pot if not he'll be out in fourth place becomes the cash card will he do it gets lucky and catches the club at the river to win this table if it's devastating sucked out he made a great play unfortunately for him Martin took him down with a flush at the river folks this 22 year old is a real poker player who's gonna have some story when he goes back to college that's gonna tell him about the 457 thousand he won in Vegas desk any time at Bellagio future poker legends in the midst here as we start three handed play martin dick knife has over 10 million chips both his opponents have a little bit over three million right back in action Matt looking at ten eight of diamonds the button in front of him the best place in poker 300 he's gonna bet 300 thousand son with 10 9 offsuit quickly going out he gets out of their way here comes Martin he's got a six off suit but he's gonna call the race and can't push around the knife here we go it's a six versus ten eight the flop comes 10 7 7 that's nice for that so Martin looks back down there at his Hannity checks game playing for Martin he's talking about and that is thinking about he's got the top pair raised before the flop he's hit the pair of tens 400 and he is gonna bet 400 thousand Martin flies out of the pot mad mad making it happen martin speculated in that retrieving the chips if education is an advantage at the poker table then Matt matrice may have a brain up on the competition I majored in mathematics at Yale everyone knows that patas and calculating probabilities of hands improving but there's a lot more math to poker than that there's a field called game theory it's about calculating the correct play based on what my opponents range of hands is what he will do with those rings of hand it's very complicated but it gets you a starting point where you can kind of come up with your own basis for playing and according to Matt you can't be smart without knowing what's stupid the difference between gutsy and stupid and poker is often very hard to define some players said look gutsy are just stupid but someplace that looks stupid sometimes alright and if you have sound logic behind your play and you follow through on it that's gutsy does it sound like Matt should write a book on poker well he already has so if this 26 year old grad student plays his cards right you may be able to write his own ending to a perfect it is no Z for hesitation at this table this one of these warriors making quick fast aggressive news we are seeing some great play no doubt about that martin dick knave has done nothing but increase his chip count ever since we started this final table he was now up to will over ten million in chips the actions gonna be on martin looks down a junky little 87 offsuit but it has that button in front of him certificate and he's gonna continue his aggressive style he raises it makes it two hundred and fifty thousand ago he's gonna try to punish frat boy but he's going out yeah matt lays down an ace-high he had an ace deuce but a sound is gonna call with the king eight of hearts hoping to catch a flop here martin rechecks his hand here we go so if up comes king nine eight all diamonds oh two pair for Hasan's on checks his two pair 200 and martin quickly bets the bottom pair and a flush draw well he's biting into this when he bets 200,000 well it's kind of a mid-size flush draw and house odds gonna take advantage of them tom says if you want to try to beat this hand you're gonna have to pay to do it raise you a half a million more now folks if you're saying well how could my son be so sure this man doesn't have a flush well you're playing three handed you don't just flop flushes like that all the time two pair is pretty good at this point i'm martin trying to put the pieces together so far he's made the correct decision virtually every time today whether to play or whether to fold will he do it again can he get away from his hand you think he should Sahn just wanted to take this pot right now and he's gonna do so yes he does he didn't give his opponent a chance to make that flush a great rear ace by hassan right there it gets back at his old rival the night these guys aren't sitting back on their haunches here they're going after this title right now it's back to Matt he's capping his cards an indication he's gonna play he only has a five deuce off suit and he's got the kids paying fifty to pick up and he's gonna raise it three hundred thousand it's got Hasan to go out but here comes Martin he's got the king nine of hearts he's going to call it we're gonna have a flop she'll be likely to play a lot of hands will it pay off the flop is king queen jack all paint 450 Martin's flopped the top pair in a straight draw he's gonna bet it oh yes he is right into that plan foiled and Matt lays it down made a stab at the pot then laid him down as Martin catches another hand we makin things happen here takin control stay tuned we'll be right back with more poker action here on the World Poker Tour [Music] [Music] welcome back to Bellagio and the World Poker Tour Championship it's come down to a battle between book smarts street smarts and the odds-on favorite what it takes to capture bunkers ultimate title Vance we are witnessing some exciting poker here tonight we waited all season long all the World Poker Tour champions have made it to the championship here but we are down to these three and soon we will crown the king of poker actions gonna be on her son he's got King seven officers he's gonna raise it on the button makes it 250,000 ago Martin quickly goes out with 85 around the one time at matrice now Matt with Jack five of diamonds and the big blind remember he's out of position he's gonna call it looks like he's given action with a little piece of Motown Jackson fives in his hand so here we go jack five indictments for Matt King seven for her son here comes the flop flop is eight nine six with two diamonds so Matt flopped the flush draw as he is four to the flush and he's gonna check it Shawn's got no help but it's not going to stop him from going to a stack the bat and his son with just king highs gonna bet into him well then they raised before the flop he's gonna bet on the flop on an ace hits it's gonna make Matt pay this off and he likes to call it and now let's see what Matt does matt has a jack high flush draw creig's he's gonna raise all the comm 700 total 700,000 he's making it he's check raise with the flush draw the semi-bluff he's betting right back into her son very strong instincts by the young player what will its on do now remember he only has King high above this young player Matt I don't think there's much you can do and no he folds his hands pants I play we've seen the Czech raids with the cluster all work successfully time to time again here so far tonight everybody using that play and it's working well well when we play No Limit Hold'em it can work is in any hand you can lose all your chips you don't want to take that kind of gamble this time pays off beautifully for that advance I think we've gotten a glimpse that these online qualifiers for these major events are not flukes when they reach the final table these guys can play some poker here well this has definitely been world class final poker action here right now back to Matt he's gonna throw away 9 5 Sun with king queen and a small blind just calls and notice that Martin doesn't rage with ace high in the big blind it's gonna mix up his game and look this flop Queen 9 6 2 diamonds ice on his hit top Perry's got the ladies Martin has hit bottom pair and calls him quickly called it and now a king comes off on the turn well that makes two pair for her son notice on check and hoping to get a check raised in there on a trap here but it's not gonna work that time no Martin checks and now it's something it just queens full of kings on the last card here a full house how does he want to play it he's gonna bet this time yeah it looks like he's gonna finally bet 250,000 oh and look at this Martin is gonna haul in with the bottom pair here he's got the lead action here he thought the sign might be making a move on that pot since he didn't bet on forestry but he wasn't making a move he was moving with the full house fence was a little blip of a Miss read there for the first time here for Martin today could this be a little turn around here for the other guys well folks even though we're down to our final three players there is still so much on the line here in this three-handed contest the difference between 1st and 3rd place is over 2 million dollars in real money as well as that spot in poker history for capturing the WPT championship right about that life-changing money at stake here at the laws you actions on Matt here's Jack aid offsuit he lays it down sound looks at Jack's 6 off suit he's gonna call this Martin with 10 6 I says give us a flop so here we go what's Jack 6 for our son it's 10 6 for Martin let's see a flop the flop comes 9 7 4 with 2 diamonds the sun's gonna lead out and bet a hundred thousand I'm bettin with nothing but imagination right now notice Martin has the gut shot straight draw as we say but how is he gonna play this hand if indeed he is gonna play he's going to raise advance makes it 300,000 ago the Sun folds his hand before Martin and get his chips in the pot once again the semi-bluff on the come raise does it again this time looking for more one of these players is gonna walk away with over two million dollars so don't go away we'll be right back with more from the WPT championship right after this I am sick at the amount of money we're playing for it it's an ungodly amount of money I hope I'll go back to the World Poker Tour we are at Bellagio in Las Vegas on Vince Van Patten with Mike Sexton at the biggest poker event in history right now with only three players left at this point Martin still are a big chip leader with nearly ten and a half million dollars with the chips in second place is Matt matrix with nearly four million and husana be but nearly 2.7 million in third place right now action there's gonna be on Martin spectacular play all night long you look down the Queen three offsuit how much of a hand to 75 not gonna stop him he's gonna raise it he must have gone to the Gus Hansen School of Poker rents math quickly going out he left two rays and loves to put pressure on his opponents sounds got Queen ten he's gonna challenge him here it looks like he's gonna call it so here we go it's Queen pins for Hassan and Queen three for Martin here comes the flop flop is ten seven for so a science laptop hair but checks it and Martin quickly checks right behind him I kind of fall for that trap so the deuce of diamonds comes on the turn now Hassan is gonna line up and bet this it looks like so the plot to check-raise didn't work Martin quickly folds all he had to do is blow on that card Martin would have gone out period I know [Applause] Wow Vince have you noticed that when Martin loses a pot it seems to be a smaller type pot yet he wins a number of the large pots well that's a great poker player great instincts knowing when to get out and when to stay in well folks that just shows you that you don't have to be a recognized face on the World Poker Tour to be a great poker player these guys can all play the game that's so truthful so now is so wide open anyone can play if you want to join us out here you just put up your money you show up and you two could play against the superstars of the poker world look at this his son as we talked he's got the pair kings wired in his hand and he's gonna raise this and he's looking for action here Martin folds his hand around to Matt Matt's got a little bit of a situation he's got age three off suit he's gonna call it the Sun getting the action he once here we got a pot between Matt and his son Hasan with the two kings Matt with the ACE three he comes our fluff and flop is eight five deuce with two spades now this gives Matt a wheel draw a five five straight draw it's kind of a miracle inside straight draw we knew Hassan's way out in front with those Cowboys the kings the action is on Matt how is he gonna play this an 300 he's gonna get aggressive though with the inside straight draw he's gonna bet it he's gonna bet 300 thousand well his son's gotta love this we call and assign just calls he's gonna play it slow he's just calling it the ACA is gonna try to trap his man here until disaster here format he would go with our turn card well seven comes off on the turn did not help Matt's hand he's gonna try to bully this pot all he slowed down now Matt checks it how was a sign play these two kings and he checks and vents he's gonna give a river card for free Queen comes up on the river Matt didn't make his hand Isana is in great shape with two kings here yes well he wants his man to bite let's see if Matt does right what a disadvantage to be in first position ladies and gentlemen that's why you want to have the button in front of you 400 he's bet for a hundred thousand here he's fallen into the trap a son with two kings and he has taken his time like he's thinking maybe a raise you can't think that he's gonna throw this hand away no way you can only raise it if you think your opponent can call you on the end and you still have the best hand there is a chance his opponent could have two pair or three of a kind here he's called it a tie and he's going to win this pot and Hasan is going to win like a two million dollar partner Matt very disappointed I think this I made a very daring check on 4th Street there he gave his opponent a chance to catch a free card to catch an age before that would beat him but on the other hand it paid off for him because Matt bet 400,000 on the river which Hassan collected nicely well luck would have it you're right about that sometimes you want a player to take a card you play him slow you want to rope him in that time it works but you know that could have just as well backfired and everyone in the poker community would have said oh what a horrible play by Hassan letting him draw out well the price of Poker is going up now we're now playing with a $15,000 ante lions are eighty and a hundred and sixty thousand folks what that means is is that every three hand it costs each of these players two hundred and eighty five thousand dollars that they must put in the pot even if they don't play a hand action there's oh man I'm definitely not bored are you bored this time he's got ace five five hundred straight and he bets a half a million he's opened up his game with the blinds going up well he knows it figures to be the favorite against the two blind hands son quickly throws down King three look at this Martin has picked up King Jack Eichel and he's gonna call the half million he's got Kojak even looks a little like Kojak well the knife is gonna give him action here he's up against the ace five of Matt here comes the flop over a million dollars in the pot right now flop is Jack ten dues Martens hit his pair of jacks and he's checked it lots of trapdoors in this play he's hoping man I'll make a move at this pine yes he is and Matt checks right behind him very wisely here's the turn now the nine of clubs comes on the turn and this makes possible straits out there finally Martin still has top pair he's going to bet it doesn't want to give his opponent a free card to beat him he bets a half a million now Matt with about two million in chips who virtually has no hand to no draw to speak of it's got the busted hand he's obviously disappointed come on look at this he's going all-in I call he has done it and Martin quickly calls it Wow turns over the top pair jacks with a king kicker well that is a tough break for Matt right there he tried to make a move on that pot he made it at the wrong time and right now he has to catch an ace or he's gonna be out of here in third place no this is a misstep for the young Yale graduate hanging in there by a toenail right now needs the ACE but you know what we've seen it before in the World Poker Tour River courts can change lives Matt can get lucky and catch an ace he stays alive if not he heads back to Bronxville New York destiny on the liver here on that nato's do you ever dreamed about an age that's right now but no pick the wrong time to try to buff the chip leader Fatma throws the guy who qualified for this event everyone for $100 earned this seat in here has had a great week here and he'll be taking home over $700,000 rent one a week for this kid this has been a quite a performance by I'm always going with certainly has a great effort but right now the knife ravaging this field it's heads up competition once before we get down to heads up play the tradition on the World Poker Tour is to bring out the cash acrobats ribbon parlors pretty girls with the cash Shana Hyatt coming out with the trophy this I'm all-in here I'll tell you that right now I'm gonna get it count me in its eyes here transfixed look at that cash flow that's real money that you're looking at four million dollars in cash that's what these two guys are gonna get between them the winner gets over 2.7 million the runner-up gets over 1.4 million more that's coming hmm it's coming more it's all being put on the table right here folks we'll be right back with the heads-up battle to see who will be crowned the king of poker here at Bellagio on the World Poker Tour stay tuned the boardroom table and the poker table the only difference between them is a layer of felt at these tables we go all in we're fully leveraged reading risk and reward here isn't much different than reading it on a spreadsheet we play because pokers like business without the conference calls the office may close at 6:00 but there's a game it's always open we play and Full Tilt Poker calm welcome back to the World Poker Tour we are heads up at the WPT championship at Bellagio in Las Vegas and as these guys start his a play martin big knife our chip leader the start of the day is still the massive chip leader that nearly 15 million chips the guts as you know thanks can turn around put their No Limit Hold'em and if it's on wins the first pot doubles up there'll be virtually tied and chips king of Poker title at stake here we go let's go be honest on first looks at a king three off suit he's gonna call the 80,000 more and look at this fence oh man Burton has picked up two kings wonder more massive two monster kings well he raised it will he become the king of poker on this hand with two kings no doesn't get the action now son laid this hand down what a good omen for Martin right there further heads-up play with a better team hope you can break a guy with that time not to be Martin picks up the first pot playing heads-up Vince I'm certain that Hassan Habib has had more heads up experience that has Martin will that experience help him here or will the massive chip lead by Martin just be too much to overcome it's going to be honest on first he's got Jack 9 offsuit he's called it Martin says okay give us a floppy s65 looks Jack nine for her son six five for Martin here's the flop comes of ACE Queen eight helps neither player except for two makes it inside straight draw for Hassan people check goes check check more Street to do some diamonds putting three diamonds out there Martin has checked it now sun's coming out he's gonna bet this now that's the minimum bet possible 160,000 Martin wants no part of it is gonna lay it down the Sun doesn't have to sweat it by the way both players here are definitely gonna become millionaires on the World Poker Tour the second place equals to 1.4 million as we know first place the whopping 2.78 action Martin looks at a queen deuce off suit 300 trick twenty and he'll play practically any hand for 20 total 327 he's gonna make it three hundred and twenty thousand meaning he doubled the size of the big blind so it cost us on 160,000 the call he's gonna do so with a 6-4 with a junky 6-4 and it's time to catch a flop trying to make something happen here look at that mounds of cash on the table who will get lucky here and flop is ace jack 7 helps neither player Hassan is checked and Martin's betting it getting aggressive he's gonna take this pot to the somme raise your hand down so Martin picked up another pot by a bold aggressive play Vince this Swede is representative of so many European poker players the place that's great that guy look at Gus Hansen from Denmark who's been the most successful player on the World Poker Tour the devil fish Elliott from England I mean the foreign players do very well in these major poker championships back to play Hassan picks up a little 7 3 if he calls I have a small blind with a 7 3 dream on but right over the top Martin he's got a good hand ace queen he's raised it up girls but her son is reirei zhing here vents he does it by Martin strong hand a 7-3 offsuit raising it another eight hundred thousand how about the Moxie of this right now can he push the Swede out of this one ace queen in a heads-up situation a very strong hand martin however in a dominating position chip wise right now does he want to jeopardize it here well he's thinking about this because you would hate to double this man up it would be practically even in chips if he should well what does he want to do here does he want a fool does he want at all or does he want to just try to end it all right here and move all in big decision here this is what pokers about folks making correct decisions Martin's done it virtually all night long will he make the correct decision I'm Owen he's all-in made the right move once again the sound has to draw his hand away the knife rips another pot Hassan just can't jeopardize his last two million dollars with the chips on a 7-3 offsuit there he tried to make a play at that pot he limped in and then re-raises opponent generally the sign of a very strong hand Merton didn't go for it he moved all in with the ace queen and picked up a nice pot but now his son has just broke out into a cold sweat he is on the ropes Hassan had to give up the hand there but I'm not sure you can fault him for at least taking a stand trying to make something happen here just wasn't meant to be that hand oh man mark the knife at Hassan's throat right now and he's not letting up and look at this he's got a real camp here at tans wired 450 now another big hand he picks up two tens Smolin my son's going all in with ace five Martin quickly calls him at the two tens this could be it forfeit their name this could do it is it gonna be nearly a five million dollar prize Hassan Habib is gonna have to win it to stay alive but to do so he's gonna have to get lucky because right now Martin is the favorite with the two tens that's on with the ace five of clubs the sun's shaking his head they're sweating profusely I don't blame them largest prize pool in the history of the World Poker Tour at stake well Martin trying to be calm cool and collected here he knows if his 210 stand up he's going to be a legend in poker history he's going to be the WPT champion he's going to take home over 2.7 million dollars or will has son Habib double up with the ACE five of clubs and it is so close for the knife right now he can taste it will the tens hold up will he be our champion here's the flop what's five four deuce that's not a bad flop for her son he's got some outs here he's hit the pier fives it also gives him a straight draw so he can now win with an ace a three or a five or two running clubs or two running clubs there's two more cards to come there's got a lot of cards and catch to win this pot you see a dry smile out of Martin he knows that flop helped us on here we go with the turn we know it's not going to do it for queen of diamonds now what this means is Hassan must catch an ace a three or a five to stay alive in this championship if he doesn't Martin's nickname from Stockholm Sweden will be our champion king of Poker title on the line right now and Hassan catch an ace a three or a five to stay alive here's the river the cash the dream card champion photography was that the king of poker he's just taken home to seven raised with his girlfriend who just won the richest prize for the history of poker [Applause] I'm a standing ovation a bird we played tournament just a terrific performance all night his timing seemed impeccable tonight I mean every time he made a move it was quick he just seemed to lose small pots 21 all divisions man that is life-changing money he is now the champion of champions [Applause] [Applause] the king of poker but before we get to our king list top floor runner-up Hassan Habib from Downey California Sun come in here nearly one point four million dollars not too bad how you feeling right now feels like more of more like a gold medal actually but you know I would like to win it for sure but I'm very happy can't be disciplined no complaints congratulations it's on great week world champion martin deck day from stockholm sweden you came in here as a chip leader you went wire-to-wire virtually untouched
