[Music] good morning so today I've come to my local woodland and get fresh air and make use of the drizzly misty murky conditions not looking for any large vistas or big scenes today I may capture some intimate compositions with some trees and I'm kind of also looking for some fungi as well the wet weather we've had recently should be perfect conditions with some broken wood and fungi and mushrooms to grow so fingers crossed I find some [Music] so as most of you already aware at woodland photography isn't really difficult to find composition in all of this chaos all these trees and branches and undergrowth and I'm equally troubled by by this skill it's something which I find really quite difficult and challenging myself and but it's like anything for you you need to come out into these environments and you just need to let your eyes settle start looking for the smaller details and things it's easy to become overpowered by everything which is going on in the chaos appeal of the scene and I'm still yet to find my funky human I'm looking for it was got me some mushrooms and toadstools in here somewhere it's a big place Sam still searching for his bloody mushrooms there's gotta be some around here somewhere I mean the conditions are perfect lots of dead branches on the floor that's wet its moist struggling with this but perseverance not up [Music] so guys I've burned some mushrooms and some fungus in the forest while in this woodland and so I've got this tree branch here which is falling down and moist it's wet it's got that really woody smell and you can see here some little mushrooms just forming in this Deadwood area a bit of moss and whatnot so what I've got currently set up is I've got my pentax k one with my 70 28 to 105 millimeter telephoto lens this has got quite a close to minimum focusing distance and I'm zooming right in onto this little cluster of mushrooms here and we've like macro photography I've come to understand that it's really important they get some additional warm light or some additional light onto the subject so what I'm doing here is they're using a little LED panel and I'm casting the nice warm toned light to the side of the subject to emphasize some of the shape and shadow and I can help make for a real nice image so it's a couple of shots of this lens and then I'm going to switch over to a hundred millimeter macro lens and sieve and get some real sharp detail in these little mushrooms but looking nice [Music] [Music] okay so I've actually switched to a hundred millimeter macro lens now 2.8 and again I'm taking the same subject to these little cluster of little mushrooms or totes doors here and go a couple of shots to those so what I'm doing here is I'm using live view on the back of my camera and I've gone right down to 2.8 on the f-stop and I'm focusing on there the nearest toads still here or mushroom here get nice and sharp focus and then they're using the depth of field the rest will just blow off nicely into the background and get a nice fading and fading effect of this moss as well with this light casting this warm glow across you've seen my finish will look for a really quite nice autumnal image absolutely lovely [Music] [Music] so I'm gonna take a few more shots I've been I'm gonna get moving on to my next location if I can find it and take you with me and show you what I've got [Music] so that was quite good I enjoyed that little shot and I actually quite liked those images i'm i'm really pleased by I managed to find a composition with their York toadstools mushrooms leading through the frame and I think that worked really well it's really important to bring a an alley delight with you just to give you a bit of extra illumination special overcast and cloudy day cloudy days like this but I'm gonna move on to find out never shot an hour in the woods so I'm on my way in here I noticed some individual little mushrooms toad stores which I want to throw to [Music] okay guys so this is my next setter and I've got these little mushrooms here on this nice bit of bed of moss and zoom right in to 100 millimeter on this yeah this hundred millimeter macro lens 2.8 using this LED light to shine a bit of light underneath the cap to capture the stalks of the mushrooms quite a simple shot really and despite getting the cap or the rim of the cap of the mushroom in focus and that should look quite nice now I'm not sure but there's a little bug just to the right of the mushroom here and he's slowly crawling up so he may actually enter the frame in a second that might look quite good so long to do now is I'm gonna crack on with a couple of these shots I may adjust this light in its intensity and also position then try it from different angles and I see which MH looks the best maybe two or three of these images might look quite good so and if they do I'll pop them on screen and you guys can take a look out [Music] so thank you very much for joining me on this little video today I hope you enjoyed the images I've taken and if you have any comments or suggestions questions below drop them in the comments box I'll do my very best to come back to
