[Music] [Music] [Applause] all right we are finally ready to get this wood burner chimney or stovepipe installed now so we have a tri-level home so basically most of them I guess a few feet of the basement is exposed above the ground and so that's we're gonna be coming out here right behind me in this area somewhere here through that siting that stovepipe is gonna pop out there it's gonna run up on the outside of the house here unfortunately this is the front of our house so we're gonna have a stovepipe on the front of the house it's just the way our house is designed there's just no other way to run this thing no other way to get that that chimney out we thought about going off to the side and other things but it just wasn't gonna work so it's okay it's a nice stainless steel pipe so it should look at least pretty nice so I've got my my cousin actually coming out to help today he is a experienced Heating and Cooling guy and so he's gonna help me kind of just make sure everything's to code and make sure that things are laid out in the best ways possible here and how everything goes together won't be a lot of talking we're gonna dig in and start cutting holes in the house and getting this pipe run so I should have everything we need laid out here got the chimney camp we've got the tee support a few pipe supports here this is the actual tea so this has a clean out it'll be flipped upside down so that can be taken off we can clean the chimney out you got a bunch of tools sawzall caulk silicones and nails and hammers ladder I've got extra 2x4 here my sock little private the frame out the the opening we're cutting a 14-inch hole 14 or 14 and a half inch hole around there to fit that triple wall pipe then this is a dura vent through the wall kit it can't came with everything that I hope we need and I do have an offset coming today that we'll need because it's going to be about two inches off the siding here and once we get up to the roof here we're gonna have to offset out and then up so we've got an offset some offset pieces coming in the mail here later today so leave some things out start cutting holes [Music] [Music] well we're all buttoned up in here looks pretty darn good I think I cannot believe I got this inside still quite that Ace Hardware and I just cannot believe that these stickers are on here they won't come off and they're gonna have to burn off but they're gonna really mark on the pipe so I'm Lloyd about that but then I'm worried you're putting goo beyond or something like that because it'll probably mess the paint up well that almost completes the chimney everything is secured I do have one more piece of pipe to add to the top the I want to get a little bit taller a little bit further above the peak there but I want to wait I'm gonna if I pick up a new bracket for the roof tomorrow to make sure that it's secured so it looks pretty tight and I'm pretty happy with how everything turned out here so let's go inside and get a little fire started well we have a nice hot fire going in here and man is that hot just sitting this close to it I'm not gonna stay here very long but I've checked everything out and tested everything I've had the fire going here for about three hours you know touching and feeling all the tile and and where the pipe goes out and touching the you know making sure everything's good on the outside making sure all the rock isn't getting too hot or anything like that actually everything the rock and the stones and the tile nothing is even really warm I mean it's a little bit warm to the touch but everything's totally find all the clearances are good the pipe it looks like it's doing its job and everything is drafting really well now it took a little bit of time to kind of figure out all the different dampers and lovers there's a couple different air controls here and there's another one that I think controls the inner flow coming in on the top for the air air wash glass and there's another damper in the back that controls the oven and so it took a little while to figure out how to get a good fighter going in it with the different dampers and different things going on but I think I had a handle on that and now that it's going it's just really easy to run you just kind of slowly open the door and add wood to it and you don't really get any smoke in the room or anything like that it runs pretty well but for those you guys have been found along this is a been this is this is something I've waited to do for a really long time running our outdoor wood burner last year was such a chore as a challenge for me to keep up with would collapse yet I've never been able to get ahead since I've moved in here this thing is going to burn at least 50% of the wood I burned last year and heat our home better as far as I can tell from my limited experience and just having it running here and for a few hours this is actually rated to heat over 2,000 square feet our home is not that big and so I don't think this is going to be an issue it's on our lower level here we've got a fan we can run a ceiling fan to keep inter moving around in here and I really think that we'll be able to heat our home so I will take you guys along for all of that and let you know how well it's working and also how well it cooks so this is the Vermont bonne Baker XL is the name of it it's actually made by a company called nectar out of Australia they're imported and renamed here about the Vermont bun Baker stoves there's a regular-size at an excel this is the excel and it has a full cooking oven on the bottom of it and a full cook surface on the top so I'm excited to cook some things in here so we will actually take you along for a full tour of this product how everything works we'll go through you know cooking with it and adding wood and all the dampers and how the whole thing works and you can actually check this out I've got a link in the description you can jump over their website and check out the stove you know find out more information about it prices obviously and in other technical specifications but man is this thing well built solid stove don't forget to hit thumbs up on the video let me know what you think of the Vermont bun Baker XL pretty cool little stove so nothing I've seen around anything really similar to this that has the oven feature and the cooktop surface and it's a you know decent size enough to heat your home so definitely something worth checking out if you're looking into something like this or adding a wood stove to your house so subscribe to channel if you want to follow along for lots more wood burning stuff and as well as anything else you'd find on a new farm or homestead and just try to do everything ourselves here so we try to take you along for all of it as always guys thanks for watching have a good one [Music]
