Wolfpup 17JG Things you need to check!!!

[Music] all right welcome back we just got back from camping about a week ago um now it's been about a week since that video was uploaded uh and i wanted to make this video to show a few things that i discovered with this camper and some things that you should check if you're purchasing a new camper or just check on your camper that you have now if you haven't purchased it um there's some things that you know factories shortcuts um especially with parts um any campers made in 2020 or are being made now but you want to go over and check just for safety aspects to make sure your camper is you know up to par to be safe traveling down the road and a lot of this stuff i just found out by looking at forms based on your campers specifically there's lots of people out there with good information but you know a lot of times speaking in forums or on facebook groups they don't necessarily have pictures so i wanted to show a video and a lot of these things will apply to many different manufacturers and brands not necessarily to just wolf pup now this is a wolf pup you know made by cherokee forester 17 jg model the 2021 model was actually made in october of 2020 so i'm gonna go over a few things here and show you what i found and what you should look out for on your camper so uh let's take the first look here first thing we're gonna look at is the um stabilizer jacks all right so on the stabilizer jack can you find the difference um these are obviously very important but if you notice bolt here zip screw here this will be getting replaced there's a random combination all around this camper and it's probably just because they're running low on bolts or just being quick to assemble but these zip screws it'll absolutely pull out and they're all different some of them have three zip screws some have all zip screws some have two bolts they'll all be getting replaced with these bolts something important to check next thing you want to check is how the camper is connected to your frame so let me show you what i'm talking about there these bolts right here they are what hold your camper to your frame and these are important a lot of manufacturers of the process or just the first trip they're not loctited and if you check these i had two or three that were finger tight and i bet you do too if these come loose your frame of your camper will potentially come off the trailer so this is important to make sure they're tight i went around and tightened all these up during our first trip so very important to check and these are about every i would say you know a few few feet apart off of these outriggers off of your frame next thing you want to check is on especially specifically for the wolf pup will be around on your slides let me go over there and show you that so with any camper with a slide out i opted to add the slide top cover i would definitely recommend that just keeps the water you know pine needles debris anything off the top of your slide don't worry about cleaning it and it kind of fixes the you know a lot of water issue damage water will come in around the slide eventually the rubber seals are going to wear out so it's something to check whenever you get your camper new these slides are you know obviously put in very quickly check this is a very you know leak-prone area check all of your sealant especially around the top of your slide get a ladder get up there and look at it make sure it's sealed off properly uh it's very you'll you'll find if you're gonna find some cracks for the seal and especially from the factory you're gonna find it around the top of the slide this one was actually pretty good when i got it but i have seen some pictures online of um of some that weren't checked and caused leaks uh here's another one of the jacks here you can see zip screw bolt the front two are all zip screws so definitely something you want to check they have had a recall on some forest river campers about the plug about some wires being i guess not pulled back you'll see that some of the forms it's not a huge deal okay yes i mean you could have one take it and get it fixed but you can you can loosen these screws and pull this off and look back don't have it plugged into power and you can see if they're pulled or if it slid back far enough but like don't freak out about it more than likely if you have a new camper you have insurance so you know if it burns to the ground buy another one so one thing to check out but i don't think you're having that big of an issue so that about does it i know it's a short video and if i find anything else out you know as i'm looking to the camper and using it i'll point it out the next few videos i'm gonna show probably some upgrades we're gonna do some things in the bathroom um add some shelfing units things like that uh possibly get some wireless internet routed up for some of our longer trips but if i any you know tips tricks that i see i'll post them
