Will my 2001 Dodge Dakota finally run?

H ladies and gentlemen welcome back to another video and in today's video we're going to be doing something it's taking a while but I finally got to this point and now right in front of me is none other than Sparky this is Sparky if you guys didn't watch my first video or the second one after that this is a 2001 Dodge Dakota SLT V6 3.9 L and it was running last year so in 2023 in May and it has not been running since has not been cranked has not done anything but the battery was bad and as me being a car guy I want to I wanted to get it back up on the road and get it moving so took me a long time and some effort but I finally got it oh yeah we're bringing this thing back from the freaking dead finally all right so step one we got to come in here so we've already gotten the old battery removed as the vehicle it wouldn't crank without the or with the old battery installed because the old battery was dead um so I got a new battery so we're just going to disconnect this there we go set that there for now and don't lose it in your engine bit that' be smart idea we're just going to move the terminals out of the or these uh connectors pull pull this plastic case out now before I shove the new battery in we're going to go ahead and clean off those connectors the wire brush typically is what you want to use so back a little while ago we had started it back in May of last year as I've told you guys and it had an idle problem our guus was because of the battery or not the battery but the alternator um which I'm still thinking is the problem but we cannot tell until we had gotten a new battery which I have gotten now so now should be good to uh test that so now we'll be able to test the alternator and yeah we should be good uh anyway it just started to rain on me like a jerk so we're going to set the battery up in here wow that was the world's shortest rain ever wow all right so we're going to set the camera back down um I'm hoping that that focuses anyway Let's uh get this battery in here let's not Crush our our things push this in place now I doubt this is going to end up fixing its problem but it's still worth a shot so I mean I just want to get it running um and I can deal with alternator stuff later all right now with uh my hands all clean as soon as I insert this key it's going to want to glow light it up you know oh come on rain rain had to get all over my come on man that's not that's not very nice so yeah we got the battery all connected up that's out the way now it's definitely out the way and uh yeah we're going to try and fire this girl up oh please come to life okay I heard our fuel pump there's all our gauges and all right here we go holy crap it fixed our it fixed our idle issue oh wow all right she's ID doing a little rough but she's staying there all right don't die on me oh freck yeah look at that heck yeah brother woohoo oh yeah heck yeah oo she got some pep to her all right all right all right well she's still keeping an idle I'm going to go do that battery test all right my camera person's going to hold this for me please hold it right [Music] there [Music] 14.19 it's charging her yeah look at that all right we don't want to go below a certain area all right let's let's go check that out 14.19 our alternator seems to be doing something it definitely gets oh no nothing happen all right so alire is charging this this old girl ah all right there's no RPM drop and then with the high beams on the the alterator is doing their job all right hold this please again thank you yes all right we're going to see if we can get this thing to move okay we're going to try I don't know if it will but we're going to try it all right let's see if she moves go ahead and go over to the front if you don't M he no windows [Music] work w [Music] now that's what I call a video inside door handle doesn't work heck yeah all right she runs wow she moved out of her grave let's go check out where she was spk heck yeah all right so let's see oh baby all right you can see where her rear tires were sitting for a while so these are the two rear ones these are the two front ones those ones were sank deep but she moved from here and moved all the way over there let's go all right thank you miss cameraman oh yeah that's what I call a freaking RP runs like it was literally parked yesterday fired right up ran idled perfect did literally everything you would have wanted to for a freaking car ran great drove great brakes work amazing no check engine lights or anything like that now it's just really time to just give this girl a bath and even then like she's still pretty clean um for what she is got to clean out that though that's my main concern but like she's such a solid truck it's all surface rust like it's so solid all
